Homesick David Finlay x reader; headcanon list

Notes: This is so out of character for Finlay and I know that, but I don't know, the thought of him being clingy and missing his partner is cute to me. Anyway, enjoy!

Warnings: None!

It isn't unusual for long tours to go days without talking to David. Yes, typically, it was only one or two days, but sometimes that can feel like a lifetime. Especially when one of those days is completely radio silent because of the long plane ride to get to Japan in the first place.

But while it was a regular thing that you had to get through, it didn't make it easier. And not a lot of people knew that it wasn't exactly easy on David either.

It would be near the end, sometimes even half-way through, where Finlay starts to get a little clingy (not that he would describe it as clingy, but that's his ego talking).

It's around this time that you start getting more texts, more missed calls (time differences are a bitch), more updates, more pictures, everything and anything. The calls last longer, Finlay stays up later, and the two of you suffer the consequences of not getting a good night's rest for the sake of getting to talk on the phone a little longer.

You notice his tone gets a little more agitated, he gets a little more huffy, he's talking about how the plane ride home is going to feel so good and you don't doubt that for a second, because if you could actually see David right now and not just speak to him over the phone, you would bet he's doing something quite similar to pouting (but again, he won't admit that)

The moment he is home though, it's maybe two straight days of David not leaving you alone. Holding you where he can, dragging you back to bed, to the gym, to the shower, onto the couch to watch a movie. Those two days are typically more cuddly than the entire rest of your relationship is, but it's sort of etched itself into your little routine and even if David won't admit how clingy he can be, you knew better than anyone and that's all that really mattered.

War Dogs Christmas headcanons, pretty please?

Christmas with the War Dogs; headcanon list

Notes: I love writing cute stuff for the dawgs. I decided to focus mainly on Finlay, Drilla, Clark, and Gabe for this one, since now there is apparently a lot more members that have joined in recent weeks. But I hope you enjoy!

Warnings: mentions of drinking and food

The dogs get their celebration together out of the way, before celebrating with families. Typically, this involves them drinking together at the hotel while watching a Christmas movie, which is cheesy as shit and they know it too (but who's going to say anything about it?)

Out of everyone, Clark is probably the least excited about Christmas itself, but he does actually really enjoy spending time with friends and family. The gifting and decorating part is where you sort of lose him.

Finlay is the one who gives out the expensive gifts. Nice watches, new shoes, fancy jackets, that sort of thing. He will say it's because he wants his war dogs to look presentable, but it's speculated that he only says that so no one knows he has a bit of a soft spot for them (even if it is very, very, very small)

Drilla's two favorite things with the holidays might be the booze and the quality time he spends with those he cares about. He'll travel extensively to see his family and friends, give them a few presents, offer them a drink or two, before it's back on the road time.

Gabe is a big mama's boy, so the majority of his time is spent back home and the majority of his paycheck goes to making sure he gets his mom the best, which works out fine for him considering Clark doesn't really do gifts anyway and Drilla can be easily gifted a night out in Shibuya.

As a joke, mistletoe has been set up in the locker room before. And of course, Drilla has kissed maybe a few too many of his friends for a silly tradition and a joke.

Speaking of mistletoe, it is probably Clark's favorite tradition and way to pick up people at the bar. Even if he gets hell for it from the boys, it works and he will happily accept the teasing he gets for the cheesy pick-up lines.

Both Drilla and Finlay are workaholics, so out of everyone, they are probably the last to leave from the dogs to go home if a tour happens to fall around the Christmas season.

I’m currently imagining a jealous clark who wants to be loved the way drilla loves akira since it’s very obvious to him that drilla is using him purely as akira’s replacement. clark is probably fine with it since it means he can be in a relationship with drilla but at the same time he can’t help but be jealous of the fact that the one he loves still has feelings for his past lover.

Holidays with United Empire headcanons, please!

Various Holiday United Empire Headcanons

Notes: I don’t write for TJP, but I tried to do a few for a good handful of the others! If you wanted someone specific, then you can totally ask! :)

Warnings: Mentions of food.

• Akira’s favorite part of the holidays is the food (and more specifically, the sweets), so it’s no shock that he is always buying or baking sweets around the holiday season. Often offering these sweets to others, insisting on other members of the empire to try it. Although sometimes, he keeps them to himself if it’s something that he really enjoys.

• O-Khan often spends the holidays sharing his favorite tales and stories, such as Tale of Babushka, Krampus, Jólakötturinn, and others. However, whether he tells the long version or short version is based on how he feels.

• Callum is someone who can’t hold a secret, so he is someone who gives gifts sooner than necessary. Throughout the holiday season, it isn’t surprising for his friends fo receive gifts on seemingly random days.

• Mark watches cheesy movies consistently. He loves a good (and sometimes bad) romantic movie. Usually it’s on the Hallmark channel and usually it’s by himself, but he’ll watch with Kyle every now and then.

• Will is big on decorating. He’s always the first to have decorations up for the holidays, around the living area and outside his door. He loves buying new decorations (despite not having the room) and showing everyone all the things he’s gotten.

• Akira, Kyle, and Callum love spending the holidays with others, whether it be with friends or family. However, Akira leans more towards family out of the three of them.

• Kyle could and would devour those Christmas frosted sugar cookies from the shops all holiday season. He is obsessed with them, even if he can’t have too many of them.

I fucking loved all of these additions. It actually works so well that Drilla is the guy who just … showed up and was sort of just adopted into the group. Clark dragging Drilla to Gabe and Alex like an excited dog bringing a stick ( “I found a friend!!” )

David is sort of the father figure to everyone. But he’s not the best father figure in the world. He tells them what to do, to clean up after themselves, get gold, and make him proud. But he can and will put them in their place real quick, going from proud dad to aggressive leader in an instant. Like when he grabs Gabe’s face, tells him to quiet down and pushes him to the side to cool off.

Drilla is like a brother to Gabe. Their long history together, similar in age, and being able to relate to a lot of different topics leaves them very close in that sense. Gabe is probably Drilla’s top pick for drinking buddy and going to the gym together.

Clark is also like a brother to Gabe, but in an older brother way or maybe even that weird, proud wine aunt who drinks too much. He’s there to support him, be proud of him, and get in someone’s face for Gabe. His overall energy for matches where he’s at Gabe’s ringside shows that a lot. They hang out, but not as much as some might think.

Now I’ve always seen Clark and Drilla as romantic, but for the sake of the headcanons, we’ll keep with family terms. They couldn’t be more different, yet also so similar. Sort of like having that super close cousin that you “take a walk with” every family holiday. They casually drink together occasionally, but Drilla is more than likely going to go to Clark for drugs and club hopping. They also have occasional times where they aren’t together and are apart for sort of long periods of time, but once they’re back together again, it’s constant conversation and partying.

Then obviously we have Gedo who could also play as a father figure to the boys, but I see him more as a father figure to just Finlay. He helps the dogs if he really needs to, but he’s truly there just to tell David how to lead and how to carry himself. Gedo has helped David get more confident with himself while also teaching him harsh realities.

Now we also have Alex, who I think is that very proud uncle for the boys. He’s protective of his family, won’t hesitate to throw down with someone for any of them, and he’s constantly trying to make time for them. He says he loves them all equally, but in reality Gabe is his favorite and it shows with how he interacts and fights for him. Everyone knows it and no one argues.

This was a fun little question and I probably dived way too deep into it, but I loved it a lot.

PART TWO HOLD ON

I unfortunately don’t know enough about Jake Lee to give him a real answer, but if I had to then it could probably be cousin to the boys, since he was a temporary placement in the War Dogs (if I remember that correctly!). Pops in occasionally, leaves for long periods, but when he’s around, everyone is hype for it.

And SANADA joined not that long ago, so I’ll give him a real answer when I see him interact with the guys a little more. For now though, I’m thinking eldest brother. Doesn’t want to be around the younger siblings, sort of unhappy about it when he’s placed in matches with them. But he always ends up having a great time during it, even if he won’t admit it.

Hi! You don't have to answer if it's too personal, but why don't you write for Harley or Skye? (Ik skye supposedly said she doesn't like RP of her, but I've never heard anything about fics)

Asking because I was gonna send a request for Harley

I’m totally fine with answering any questions about why I don’t write for certain wrestlers, so if you ever want to know then don’t hesitate to ask.

But I don’t write for Skye because I’m sort of playing it safe. I assumed if she doesn’t like people roleplaying as her then it’s safe to assume she doesn’t like people writing her in general. It’s nothing against her or if she’s done anything.

As for Harley, I don’t write for her because she’s friends with Saraya and she also openly supports Velveteen Dream after it came out that he was a pedophile. She just overall makes me uncomfortable and I will more than likely never write for her.

Every time Drilla and Akira interact with one another, I can't help but think of them as sort of ex boyfriends. Never got together or maybe they did, but it was sort lived. Drilla never really had feelings, and if he did, then it was purely sexual. Meanwhile Akira had fallen so hard for him and either he didn't notice Drilla didn't have feelings or he was too in love to care.

The betrayal was a heartbreak and a slap in the face of realization that Drilla never did care and every match, press conference, and interaction they have is sort of evidence of that too.

The way Drilla teased him at the most recent conference; "let's start with you because you're my favorite" while Akira is biting his tongue and trying to smile to show he doesn't care. But when he finally gets to speak, he feels the need to address Drilla, to grab him by the jaw and make him look him in the eye to really understand the anger he is feeling. Yet Drilla is only smiling, cocky and carefree, because he knows just how much it gets under Akira's skin.

a big dog who doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut and when he can’t bite back, because when he bites back, he bites hard.

he’s ruthless, aggressive, and needs to be tamed. and truthfully, clark knows he can’t tame drilla, because no one can. but he can do this because drilla lets him get away with it and maybe he likes it more than he even lets on.
