what does jason do for zoe on zoe day?

usually, zoe doesnt like to celebrate her own birthday w a big. THING u know. a little acknowledgement goes a long way with her. so she's absolutely fine with jason showing up to have dinner with her or something, even if it's the fattest, greasiest burger in town and they're both dressed in the clothes they've been working in all day. i do think jason would like to give her a little more fanfare and THAT'S where KEME would come in, bc if u can blame the hatching of the giant surprise party on keme then you MIGHT not get punched. but i mostly think that like their lil one-on-one celebration would be something pretty muted.

(keme is a LITTLE upset bc yall went to get BURGERS when i CATERED for this surprise party. and zoe is like how the Fuck was i supposed to know there was CATERING if it's a SURPRISE party??? they both look at jason who is conveniently stuffing his face w the food at the table)

so my brother and i, when we were talking about youxiong, found out that zoe and keme's dragon forms would be exponentially BIGGER than youxiong-born people's dragon'a bc they're half-youxiong AND they were born on a planet w a different gravity. but im saying FUCK YOU to him, bc i also included cultivation magic on youxiong so~

YES. it was def a trick w the twins to make them laugh when they were much younger (that sometimes ended w her getting SQUEEZED, a LOT) but like she cant just go waltzin around in front of random ppl w a lil dragon cowboy hat on like 'howdy' and NOT have them have a heart attack, so it mostly stays in the friend/family group

zoe CAN fly. on earth. and most other planets. and in space. but. not on youxiong. not really anyway. it has to do w the intense gravitational pull of the planet, so instead, she and most everyone else, can just like jump high.

a water planet that was. ALL water. like literally just. the entire planet was water. everyone lived underwater in lil domes. beautiful place, zoe thought it was GORGEOUS of course. but also, when you're intoxicated half the time, missing home, and haunted by ghosts of your past around every corner as you're trying to WORK it isnt a fun place to be. idk if i've shared this piece of info before but. when zoe was a kid, she almost drowned once, and it was a mortifying thing bc bellamy and kanti had pulled her out of their little pond and zoe had just seemed. fine with dying right then and there in that little pond. but its not the water - she's not afraid of water, she's actually v soothed by it, but during the space cowboy arc she's in an even darker place mentally and then to add on top of it this whole planet being underwater where she can't. GET OUT. like there's not FLYING AWAY if anything bad happens. there's packing everyone up into the ship AND THEN getting out and zoe doesnt. SHE DOESNT LIKE THAT. it's AWFUL. it's very claustrophobic, very reminiscent of a watery grave and she just wants to GET OUT of there ASAP.

Isabel was head in deep in one of her inventions she was occupying herself within her room. She did that a lot these days, stay in her room where she wouldn’t be a bother. One, it simply made things easier for the brunette and two, she couldn’t step on toes and bring about anyone’s wrath that way. 

Although... she might wake Elena’s wrath now since she took the kitchen blender for hostage. 

Wouldn’t be anything new really Isa felt like she’s been living under her sister’s wrath consistently since the Italy debacle. If Elena went and blew up now, Isa wasn’t so sure if she would even flinch. 

And at least it wasn’t the toaster this time around. 

Isa was currently taking the apparatus apart wanting a specific piece for the functionality of it when she heard a knocking on her door. Immediately, she sprung up from where she was seated on the floor running to the door.

“It’s not broken yet!” 

Isabel proclaimed already getting on the defensive before opening the door to find that it was Mateo and not Elena standing behind it. 

“Oh, Mateo, hi! On a scale from one to ten, how mad do you think Elena would get when she finds out I took apart the kitchen blender?” She opened the door to her room wider to show Mateo the kitchen appliance that was now on the floor in several taken apart pieces.

do drink. a lot. it helps with the space time changes because then they just dont exist even more than they already dont exist. because time DOESNT exist. :)

YOU'VE NEVER HEARD THIS BEFORE!!!!

This summer while in London, for some reason I thought it would be a fun idea to see a band that plays rather often in Seattle and see them for the first time at Hyde Park. Pearl Jam, an obvious gem of Seattle that my parents raised me on, had one hell of a turn out at the festival being held that weekend. I knew that English people liked grunge and punk music, young and old, but I truly did not expect so many people to show out for them the way they did. Eddie Vedder’s voice (I have to admit) is something I am quite amazed by and in his middle age, still knows how to capture an audience and put on a show. It was a truly great and very sweaty night. 

Months later in Berlin, Germany I was able to get into Panorama Bar with my friend where we saw Skin on Skin, SCDD Hazmat Team, and Matisa. It was truly an incredible experience, the setting alone was amazing, with many areas decorated with leather couches covered in cigarette ash for people to hang out on when they need a break from dancing too hard. I have to say my favorite of the night was Matisa, who, even though the people there are anything but in the right headspace to watch someone DJ, she put on a show. I love watching people dance to their own music and have fun behind the table, which she absolutely did, and she had an insane remix of "Satisfaction" which if you know anything about me, that song gets me going. In my eyes there is no better dance song. 

Upon my arrival back home in Seattle I went to see Arlo Parks the night before classes started, who had Puma Blue as an opener an, as little songs as I know from both performers, the show was still great. Puma Blue has a great frontman who came out on stage in gray sweatpants and a denim jacket, besides the point. The jazz influence with the throaty and mournful sound of Jacob Allen– the lead singer’s– voice made the set calming while also making me tap my foot with an occasional sway. The honorable mentions of the set was "(She’s) Just a Phase" and "Soft Porn". Arlo Parks, without a doubt, was absolutely divine. There is nothing that she could sing that wouldn’t sound beautiful, she came out strong opening with "Green Eyes" and "Porta 400" both songs that set us up for her melancholic sounds the rest of the show. There was not a single person there that wasn’t swaying or hugging their partner or dancing. I have to be honest, I will not be listening to her any more or any less, but I will say she has a beautiful and calming stage presence. 

Over the weekend, I was able to go to a concert that I have been anticipating since the last time I saw her in November of 2019. My heart races even thinking about seeing her in person so close yet again, I got to see Julia Jacklin. Her opener, Katy Kirby, was way better than I could have guessed, and a perfect match to Julia’s deeply sad and longing sound. She is most definitely someone that will now be occasionally played on my Spotify. Saturday was Julia’s only solo show on her entire tour, which was also the second show she had here in town and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. Because it was just her and her beautiful guitar that had tape labeling it as hers, she played mostly her old songs because they are rather guitar heavy, and for that I am glad. She opened with “Comfort” which set the mood for the rest of the show. I doubt there was a dry cheek in the entire building. There is nothing I love more than a crowd that is full (but no one is touching me) and an artist with a guitar talking to the crowd like we are all friends who joined each other for drinks one night. I have said this before, and I will say it again, but if you get the chance to ever see Julia Jacklin live, please take it.

Namibia 2018/19 - Teil 23

Herrschaften und Oukies!

Schweren Herzens verabschiedeten wir uns heute Morgen von Trudi & Karl und natürlich den Katzen Teddy & Minka. Schön war es wieder bei Ihnen!

Gestern Abend haben wir noch zusammen bei uns auf der Terrasse gesessen und ein bis zwei Fläschchen zusammen vernichtet. Karl wollte, dass wir uns ein eigenes Auto in Afrika anschaffen. Das wäre doch viel günstiger - wir glauben das jedoch nicht. Den Leihwagen geben wir ab und haben dann damit nichts weiter zu tun.

Die beiden Mietzen kamen immer zwischendurch mal gucken, was das wohl so los ist.

Es war aber sehr kalt, trotzdem wie uns die dicksten Jacken anzogen, die wir finden konnten. Trudi meinte, es sähe aus, als ob wir in Sibirien Urlaub machen würden.

Ob wir die Vier noch einmal in diesem Leben wieder sehen werden? Wir wissen es nicht und zweifeln leider daran, denn immerhin gehen Trudi & Karl auf die 80 zu.

Zum Frühstück ging es dann noch einmal in die Stadt. Heute ging es standesgemäß in das Hotel “Zum Kaiser” - natürlich in der ehemaligen Kaiserstraße (heute Sam Nujoma). Dort kann man im Bistro am Frühstücks-Buffet teilnehmen für 125 N$. Das hat uns besser gefallen, als im rummeligen Café Anton.

Anschließend führte uns unser Weg über die B 2 bis nach Karibib, wo wir auf die C 33 abgebogen sind. Am Checkpoint waren die Officer überhaupt nicht mehr an den Fahrzeugen interessiert, sondern riefen nur noch jedem zu “Happy New Year”. Offensichtlich war man dort schon in ausgelassener Feierlaune....

In Omaruru drehten wir eine Runde durch den Ort, weil wir eigentlich im Wronsky Haus einkehren wollten. Dort war jedoch geschlossen! Warum, das wissen wir noch nicht...

Wronsky Haus - Souvenir & Coffee Shop: Das historische und schöne Haus verfügt über einen gut sortierten Souvenirladen und ein charmantes Café.  Im Garten gibt es auch noch ein paar Tische mit Schirmen unter denen es sich schön sitzen lässt.

Erbaut als ein allgemeines Handelsunternehmen von Wilhelm Wronsky (Wronskys Allgemeiner Warenhandel) wurde das Gebäude im Jahre 1907 fertiggestellt. Noch heute kann man die ursprüngliche Einrichtung unverändert bewundern. Decken, Regale, Fußböden und weitere Einrichtungsgegenstände, alles kam mit dem Boot von Deutschland und wurde dann mit dem Ochsenwagen von der Küste transportiert.

Wilhelm Wronsky heiratete später Franziska Sacher, Tochter der Hotel Legenden Eduard & Anna Sacher. Dies hatte zur Folge, daß das Haus um  ein Café erweitert wurde, in dem auch heute noch die Sacher Torte nach original Rezeptur hergestellt und verkauft wird. Auf Grund der Größe dient es zusätzlich als eine Art Gemeindezentrum zu Anlässen aller Art.

Die heutigen Inhaber, Gudrun & Eckhardt Müller, haben in einem zweiten Gebäude (hinter dem Parkplatz) zusätzlich noch ein Art Heimatmuseum liebevoll zusammengetragen und eingerichtet.  

Anschließend fuhren wir zur Kristall Kellerei, die etwas außerhalb des Ortes liegt.

Wir müssen dringend wieder unsere heimischen Bestände aufstocken. Leider war der Matisa, der Kaktusfeigen-Brand, ausverkauft. Den müssten wir dann gegebenenfalls online ordern.

Es gab ein überraschendes Wiedersehen mit Christine, die uns sofort wieder erkannte und nur nicht sofort einordnen konnte. Wir hingegen wähnten sie unten am Naute Damm.

Christine ließ uns sofort die neuesten Produkte verkosten und wir entschieden uns für den Dandy, den Dattel-Brandy. Den fand Micha auch am leckersten und beim nächsten Afrika-Abend müssen unsere Gäste dran glauben.

Anschließend fuhren wir nach Onduruquea. Dort hat im Dezember 2017 ein Pächterwechsel statt gefunden.

Die langjährigen Betreiber, Eugen & Monika Sibold, haben sich leider zurück gezogen und zur Ruhe gesetzt.

Ende Dezember 2017 wurde die Gästefarm Onduruquea von der holländischen  Familie Harmsen übernommen und unter dem Namen "Onduruquea Lodge Omaruru" mit neuem Konzept weiter geführt.

Ein Teil der Zimmer wurde renoviert und es gab eine neue Badezimmer-Ausstattung. Das Ganze ist natürlich ebenfalls mit einem satten Aufpreis verbunden.

Die alten Möbel wurden jedoch nur (schlecht) übergepinselt, um dem neuen, angesagten Shabby-Chic-Stil zu entsprechen. Die Zimmer sind gut gelungen.

Ob sich jedoch das ganze Sterneküchen-Tschingderassabum mit Sommelier-Gedöns und anderem Klimbim hier durchsetzten wird? Das wird sich zeigen.

Jedenfalls sind mit 2/3 Belegung, die Buchungen bisher die besten von unseren besuchten Unterkünften.

Eins steht jedoch fest: die frühere Atmosphäre, wo sich alle Gäste zusammen am Lagerfeuer trafen, sich Gespräche entwickelten und anschließend alle gemeinsam zu Tisch gingen, sind vorbei.

Keiner spricht mit keinem, alle sitzen vornehm auf ihrem Stuhl und gucken affektiert.

Wie sagte doch bereits Loriot? Früher war einfach mehr Lametta - und Eugen Sibold wusste die besten Schtories aus Südwest zu erzählen. Die schönsten davon haben Micha und ich uns heute Abend dann noch einmal selbst erzählt: wie Eugen damals mit dem Kumpel im Flieger abstürzte und wie er mit seinem Bruder und der Speikobra und den Schweißerbrillen mit dem Stock.....
