What was your favorite 90's computer game to play? I was a huge Freddi Fish/Putt-Putt girl, Reader Rabbit Math Ages 6-9 had beautiful island backgrounds and a jamming soundtrack (not to mention it kickstarted my list making obsession since I started writing down the deck items and supplies for the Sea Lion), I owned all of the ClueFinders games at some point, and I never completed Zoombinis Logical Journey because the puzzles were too challenging for me.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, Dee Bradley Baker voiced both of the mascots of the JumpStart and Math Blaster franchises (Frankie and Blaster respectively) in certain games. This video shows a comparison of Baker voicing Frankie in JumpStart Advanced 1st Grade, and Blaster in Math Blaster Ages 6-8.

It's hard for me to express the aching depths of longing that this background image from 1993's Math Blaster: In Search of Spot evokes in me. Even as a kid I felt this way.

It is wild to me that Dr. Who started as sort of edutainment meant to get people interested in history and science, and became a cultural icon. Like imagine if thirty years from now, Math Blaster is telling a harrowing story about the loneliness of being the last of one's species and the helplessness of being unable to save everyone despite having amazing power.

I just learn that the Jumpstart's and Math Blaster's servers are being shut down on June 30. That is only 15 days away I can't :(

Starting in December of 2010, the JumpStart MMO added a spaceship with a countdown for the launch of the Math Blaster MMO, which was set to happen in January of 2011. Upon the launch, the spaceship would allow players to directly access the Math Blaster MMO from within the JumpStart MMO.
