Libraries are fantastic, but you have to understand: there is a tradeoff, which is: you don’t get to hang onto materials indefinitely.
You can’t yell at us because you’ve decided to use a library music score for 3 months and you have to at least bring it to the library before checking it out again. You can’t yell at us if you can’t renew it because someone else placed a hold so they can use it too. Don’t get snippy if you signed an agreement saying you understand you get this laptop for 4 weeks and then you have to return it.
Yes, libraries are fantastic, but things have to be accessible to everyone, not just  you.

Not to be really annoying and go ‘well actually’ to the joke about how silcos a twink who probably didn’t do shit in the mines and that miners all look like vander and are these big buff burly dudes is very much some propaganda in ur brain and not the reality of what conditions are like for miners from impoverished communities. You know they use children in mines bc they’re small right. If you’ve consumed any footage showing messed up mining communities that exists irl, like people who work in cobalt mines in Congo, they’re muscular, but at a glance, they’re not jacked and look pretty average. I think a lot of people are surprised seeing that they tend to be small and lanky for people doing hard manual labor all day, but that comes from not being able to afford enough quality food. You have to eat a ton of calories to get built, and that isn’t something many people who work in mines have.

grass demon as a human?
I prefer the grass demon as an alter of Fern's but babbs and I had fun w/ this idea.
Tumblr media
They spange near the bus stop and Fionna would toss them $3 every so often, so they got attached and came on too strong. They try to pay Fionna back but they approach life so differently that it always works out wrong/appears malicious. (They're very cluster A.) GD challenges Fionna's convictions pretty routinely: they set their tent up outside of her apartment, and she's vehemently against street sweeps but she really wants to call one in to get them to leave, as an example. They meet Fern through their job (their dad's landscaping business) and, again, come on too strong. They believe in twin flame junk and are convinced they can see Fionna and Fern's connection, so they glom onto Fern because she's much more of an insecure pushover.
Babb wanted them to be roommates but I like the grass demon just being a weird, offputting little stage 5 clinger that follows Fern around tbh.

Hey! Your ASOIAF fashion inspiration posts are so good! They're a really big help.
Do you have clothing/hair inspirations for the Crownlands and Driftmark? Not sure if you've posted about them before and I missed it.
Thank you!
Thank uuuuuu twirls hair
Crownlands are a little bit challenging bc unlike the other kingdoms, they’ve always been ruled directly by the throne and have never had much of a distinct culture in canon both before and after the conquest. I imagine since they’re usually following the trends of whatever ruler sits the throne, or if a certain house is closer to the stormlands or Riverlands, they take after their cultural fashions. They’re not very prominent on their own I fear
Velaryons are a bit odd, being both an island culture and part of the crownlands. I think over time they’ve adapted to the fashions of the mainlands, especially after intermarrying with the targs, but they probably have their own personal touches (which recently, I’ve modeled after Grecian/Mediterranean costume, bc sea faring island cultures and whatnot)

crisis aside I think that "kids can handle dark stories if they have happy endings" is just going to apply to me forever.
I think games are awesome for having multiple endings, especially if one of them is happy- or at least hopeful. Heck- even better if some are bad.. because that makes the happy ending better? Worth working for?
as I get older I find myself drawn less to dark and hopeless media. I still appreciate that kinda stuff when it's the middle of the story- a little bit of salt to bring out the flavors of a dish and all- but when the story ends and "they never spoke again and they grew apart" or "everyone died anyway because they never had a chance and the world is cruel and cruelty is eternal." or "they put aside their passions forever because the waking world does not take kindly to love and the path of least resistance is the correct one"
Maybe if the characters I love can face darkness and still come out the other side better people facing a new sunrise with the people they love, then maybe there's hope for me too.
im not really going anywhere with this. Im just talking to myself.

Could you please dive into the RAMCOA controversy that's been going around? I've literally never heard someone say "RAMCOA is antisemitic" until like a week ago and now there's multiple blogs (I'm sure you can guess who at this point) who are saying this and calling RAMCOA a conspiracy theory from the satanic panic.
It's being said by the same 3 blogs that all reblog the same bad takes so I wasn't putting any stock in their word. Just the latest misinfo spreading unchecked, would appreciate your thoughts on this.
You know what, I'm not going to lie, I've been dreading getting this question.
Terrified. Harassment in this area of discussion is rampant.
We are currently debating making a post and how to approach it.
I will make our stances clear right now.
I think the conversation as it is now is full of misinformation and confusion. I think no single post can cover that amount of history and the theories and controversy.
I don't think anyone understands what they're arguing about, or the histories they're trying to bring up, and how they overlap. I think many members of the conversation lack access to resources and education that the mods of this blog DO have access to. Most of the links being thrown around lead back to the same single sources.
To shorten a very long, complex, and honestly unfinished conversation: the satanic panic and RAMCOA are two completely different entities. The satanic panic was a religious political movement of the 90s pushed by conservatives as a way to scare people back into church and scare women back into their "place" at home by attacking child care facilities. It called on a lot of tropes. And many of them were, yeah, ridiculously antisemitic. As the movement got more and more sensationalized, it began to call attention to therapists (some of them bad faith) and to RAMCOA survivors as a "Look! It's real!" kind of thing. If anything, this attention hurt far more than it helped. It painted an inaccurate and insulting picture that's still utilized to harm people today.
To be very clear: programmed DID is a well documented occurrence and it can occur in several ways.
We support survivors, no matter what they call it. We support clinicians trained in treating people who have gone through that extreme level of horrific abuse. We support people learning to separate fact from fiction, in whatever way that may apply to any given situation.
SAS supports ramcoa and oea survivors.
Here's something we suggest reading, though it's very long.
Stay safe, everyone ❤️

not the biggest fan of how "society should be structured with basic care and regard for the germ theory of disease" is now apparently a fringe left position even to the fringe left, reserved for wokescolds and loony lefties who don't know when to let things go.
it is quite depressing to see that "maybe we shouldn't let large groups of people die to preventable illness" is, very much a lost battle at this point.

I think Hawks would like sitting on the floor with you
Not because it’s comfortable (honestly, far from it) but because it’s fun to sprawl out without worrying about knocking things off of tables or needing to keep his wings bunched up
Him laying on his tummy while you lay on your back to talk about anything and everything
Hawks sits at the foot of your bed like a puppy and you're like, "babe, are you okay? The chair's right there?"
And he looks almost offended. This is his happy place, thank you very much.
There's irony in it somewhere, but despite his hero costume featuring those chunky headphones, Keigo never actually used them to listen to music. He needed every sense in his roster for hypervigilence hero duty, including hearing.
Keigo never cared much for material possessions. But every song you play for him on speaker on your bedroom floor is a treasure of the heart. Sprawled on the carpet, him on his belly and you on your back, Keigo closes his eyes and spirals deeper into the sound and more fantastically in love with you.
Hopeless, really. It's worth the stiffness in his joints, for sure.

people who talk a lot about the special Natures of certain ages (e.g. “your early twenties are for [whatever]”) are like one step away from fully believing in jungian archetypes and also predestination

Do you believe that the only possible reason for trans women to transition is to fulfill some kind of fetishistic gratification?
nope! i just find it irrelevant to the discussion because i do not believe in sexual inversion or sexology. there is no such thing as a "true" trans person whose gender identity is actually really valid. any man with an ounce of empathy for women would understand that despite his own personal feelings he belongs to the class that oppresses women and would respect our single-sex spaces. if he doesn't, he's functionally no different than any other trans-identifying man to me.

2012!Donnie, covered in engine grease: Yeah, I salvaged most of these parts from the trash, isn't it great! Plus, I figured out how to synthesize some of the necessary chemical compounds from the gasses naturally produced by sewage. Now THAT a gross weekend.
Rise!Donnie, who figured out how to use the internet for grand larceny and never looked back: You disgust me.

i draw a lot of nsfw but im scared to post it because then it'll be obvious which things i fetishize and which ones i lie about fetishizing for clout but im more scared of the fact that if people know what im into theyll be able to look at my writing and be like (raises eyebrows. smirks knowingly) and that is by far my 100% least favorite reaction to any kind of sexuality i show ever
