Today's compilation:
Reloaded 3 2001 Alternative Rock / Indie Rock / Pop-Rock / Britpop / Post-Grunge / Nu Metal
Back in the early 2000s, the compilation arm of Universal Music put out a brief series of double-discs in the UK called Reloaded that ended up serving as something of a contemporaneous snapshot of the country's wide alternative rock landscape, spanning from soft and folky, indie-type stuff, to the most banal of radio rock, to the leading rock sound du jour at the time that was nu metal. And for an American listener like me, this series' third installment here, from '01, mostly makes for a great and clashing mix of bad and dumb nostalgic fun with some genuinely good turn-of-the-millennium rock fare that I'm not nearly as familiar with.
But although this comp is heavily dominated by rock music, the tracks that close out each disc are actually electronic, and I think they happen to be the two best songs of this whole set. Maybe you don't know Finnish band Pepe Deluxé's nifty vocal breakbeat tune, "Before You Leave," by name, but perhaps you remember it from this big and strange 2001 Levi's ad? 🤔
youtube
And the other swell non-rock tune is UK duo I Monster's retro-futuristic trip hop classic, "Daydream in Blue," which was then later sampled by Lupe Fiasco for his own "Daydreamin'." But as you could probably tell, I Monster themselves sampled from another song to create their own too, which was a cover of Belgian band Wallace Collection's "Daydream," that was done in 1960 by a German group called Günter Kallmann Chor.
Now, for the cream of the crop when it comes to the actual rock music on here, there's Cali indie band Grandaddy, who also happen to provide the theme music for one of my favorite podcasts too, Citations Needed, which isn't a music-related show, but you should definitely listen to anyway 😁. On "Hewlett's Daughter," the group provides a soft and light, floaty indie groove, with frontman Jason Lytle playing keyboards while also delivering some Neil Young-type vocals.
And another rock song I really love on here is one that feels way more formulated for an alt-rock radio type of format, but in that regard, it excels exceptionally well as an unrelentingly smooth and upbeat tune: "Catch the Sun," by UK indie band Doves. This one doesn't appear to have charted in any capacity Stateside, but it probably would have if it had been given a real chance to. And it was featured in Project Gotham Racing too, which is a videogame that I happened to play a lot of when this song was around, so maybe that's partially why I enjoy it as much as I do 🤔.
And for the fun and dumb nostalgia, we have a whole litany of stuff: Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'," Papa Roach's "Last Resort," Matchbox Twenty's "If You're Gone," Wheatus' "Teenage Dirtbag," Bloodhound Gang's "The Bad Touch"—whose new wave intro I've always really loved—and Creed's "With Arms Wide Open," which sees Scott Stapp singing the word 'man' like no one had probably ever heard before ('mahhn') and then singing the word 'demand,' which partially rhymes with 'man,' in a completely different way, but also pretty much exactly like you would've expected him to sing it anyway ('demayhnd')?
So, I pretty much love this thing. Quality rock music, a couple terrific alt-electronic tunes that have aged really well, and then a bunch of songs that will take you right back to the silliness that represented so much mainstream rock music in 2001.
Highlights:
CD1:
Limp Bizkit - "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" Papa Roach - "Last Resort" Muse - "New Born" Queens of the Stone Age - "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" Wheatus - "Teenage Dirtbag" Feeder - "Seven Days in the Sun" JJ72 - "Algeria" Placebo - "Taste in Men" Ocean Colour Scene - "Up On the Down Side" Grandaddy - "Hewlett's Daughter" Elbow - "Red" PJ Harvey - "A Place Called Home" My Vitriol - "Grounded" Bloodhound Gang - "The Bad Touch" Pepe Deluxé - "Before You Leave"
CD2:
Stereophonics - "Have a Nice Day" Doves - "Catch the Sun" Creed - "With Arms Wide Open" Turin Brakes - "Underdog (Save Me)" Lowgold - "Counterfeit" Thirteen:13 - "Truth Hurts" Matchbox Twenty - "If You're Gone" I Monster - "Daydream in Blue"

Hotwheels (assorted cars)
by Mattel
This post is going to be an assortment of Hotwheels cars that I’ve bought recently.
I don’t remember exacty when I got any of these Hot Wheels, but I figured posting them as a group would help cut down my queue by a little bit.
Street Beasts:
Turtoshell
Turtoshell is a car in the form of a turtle. Yea, that’s it.
Actually I love it; it’s such a fun car.
You got this cyber nature turtle on wheels with the turtle shell having engine components with the flippers and the head cast in a green plastic.
It’s got painted one eyes, I suppose to resemble headlights. It would have been nice if they were sculpted too, but there’s already so much sculpted detail on this things I guess the headlights were a bridge too far.
It rolls well, it looks good, and I like it.
HW Glow Wheels:
Aero Pod
The Aero Pod is part of the ‘Glow Wheels’ collection. It’s basically a party van moonrover. Yea, that’s it.
It’s got a lot of bright yellow/green coloring and paint effect.
The front canopy seats three. Who knows what’s suppose to be in back.
After exposing the Aero Pod a lamp for about 30 minutes and the wheels do glow a little bit. It’s a fun idea but personally I’m not going to play with my toy cars in the dark.
Retro Racers:
GT-Scorcher
The GT-Scorcher is a green race car. Yea it looks pretty cool, and it kind of reminds me of the Autobot Wheeljack.
The Scorcher has a lot of advertisements all over the car, and even the ‘Hotwheels’ brand on the spoiler.
Ultra Hots:
‘87 Buick Regal GNX
The Buick Regal, for me, is a reminder of the 80′s. My dad had a car like this, and when I saw this I kind of had to get it.
This burgundy with some orange stripes painted on it.
The wheels are a little to silly for me; Hot Wheels has been using those types of wheels since the 90′s I think. I guess if it ain’t broke...
HW Screen Time:
X-34 Landspeeder
Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder from the first Star Wars movie.
This thing’s got a lot of molded detail, and paint deco isn’t too bad either.
No driver for the landspeeder, but that’s par for the course for HotWheels cars.
It’s got 4 wheels, and it rolls okay on a smooth surface.
Character Cars:
Captain Rex
These Character Cars are pretty fun too, and I had to get Captain Rex from the Clone Wars series.
The Capatin Rex vehicle is an SUV which has the look of the clone captain’s helmet.
It’s got a molded Republic symbol on the back covering the spare tire.
Notches from all the battle droid it’s destroyed...at least I so. Would suck if it was little old ladies...
You see some molded detailed guns on the sides of the SUV.
The Captain Rex car is really cool, it rolls well, and generally looks cool.
Matchbox
1936 Ford Coupe
The Matchbox Ford is the only outlier of the group considering it isn’t a Hotwheels product.
I don’t have too much to say about it other than it’s a classic car from a bygone era, and it looks great.
It rolls well, looks sharp, that’s about it.
They don’t make cars like this anymore.
Final Thoughts:
There’s something about toy cars that just brings out the little kid in me. These are all pretty fun,
Each one of these is fun in different ways, but I have to say my favorite has to be the 86 Buick Regal, since as a kid my parents had one. What can I say, I’m an 80′s kid at heart.

Spoils of a Batmobile Collector
My interest in collecting Hot Wheels and other diecast vehicles came as a convergence of a few smaller, more focused interests. Probably the first was when I just happened to notice Hot Wheels’ line of 1:50 scale Batmobiles and other Bat-vehicles. I spotted the “original” Batmobile (ok, it’s what I call the “original” but it’s the one from the 1989 and 1992 movies - I also later found out that there’s a matte version and glossy version, both of which I had to have), the Batman Forever Batmobile, and The Dark Knight Batmobile / Tumbler as well as the 1966 Batboat w/ Trailer, the 1966 Batcycle w/ Sidecar, and the 1966 Batcopter. For some reason, they just struck me as awesome...who doesn’t love the Batmobile? And seeing so many together made it all the more enticing.
Batmobiles: A Trip Through Time (Hot Wheels, 1:50 Scale) L to R, T to B: 1940s, 1966, 1966 Chrome, Super Friends (1970s), 1980s, Animated Series (92 - 95), Comic Book
I didn’t really do any research on the line, but a few days later, at a different store, I found the 1966 Batmobile and the Batman v Superman Batmobile. I gotta say from there I was hooked. I found out there had been several series of these releases, but of course not every series featured every car. I went to the local (read: only) collectible toy store in the area and found the 1940′s Batmobile, the Bat-pod, the Desert Camo Tumbler (I don’t know what to call it, the Batman Begins Tumbler..?), the Bat, and I think that may have been it. From there I turned to the internet.
Batmobiles: A Night at the Movies (Hot Wheels, 1:50 Scale) L to R, T to B: Batman / Batman Returns (matte), Batman / Batman Returns (glossy), Armored (Batman Returns), Batmissile (Batman Returns), Batman Forever, Batman v Superman, Batman & Robin, Camo Tumbler (Batman Begins), Tumbler (The Dark Knight, TDK Rises)
I won’t bore you with details, but I accumulated several more, including the Comic Book Batmobile, 1980′s Batmobile, Super Friends Batmobile, a chrome 1966 Batmobile, the Armored Batmobile, the Batman & Robin Batmobile, and then 3 rather pricey additions, the Animated Series Batmobile, the Batman Returns Batboat, and the Batmissile. I think that’s all of them...? From here I was only missing a few: the Penguin’s Duck (from Batman Returns), the 1989 movie Batwing, the Penguin’s Batmobile, the 1966 Batgirl Cycle, and perhaps the rarest of them all, the Batblade (this is the motorcycle Batgirl uses is Batman & Robin).
Batmobiles: Cycles, Aquatic & Aerial Vehicles (Hot Wheels, 1:50 Scale) L to R, T to B: '66 Batcopter, The Bat, '66 Batcycle, Batboat, '66 Batboat, Batpod
I put these on the backburner, occasionally bidding on the $$$ Batwing but never winning, and in the meantime focused on the 1:64 stuff. I’ve got a couple from the 1989 / 1992 films, the Arkham Asylum Batmobile, black, grey, and matte green versions of the Arkham Knight Batmobile, the BvS Batwing, a larger BvS Batwing from Matchbox, the Matchbox MBX Batmobile, Matchbox version of The Bat, Batman Live! Batmobile, the Affinity Batmobile, 4 different color variations of The Batman Batmobile, the Brave and the Bold Batmobile, smaller 1:64 BvS Batmobile in both grey and black, 1:64 1966 Batmobile, 1966 Batmobile with lines, 1966 Batmobile with rubber wheels (Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment), 1966 ZAMAC Batmobile, 1:64 The Bat (I think a couple of color variants), several color variants (4 or 5) of 1:64 Dark Knight Tumbler, a Batcopter (unrelated to the ‘66 version), a Bat-sub, a 1:64 Batpod, a Batcycle (supposedly from Batman Begins but I’ve got no clue where this came from), and damn, is that it? Maybe.
Picture Not Available
Sorry, I just couldn't quite bear the thought of dragging out every...single..Bat-thing...too much. But I'll show you one of these days!
There is some 1:64 stuff I’m missing, like the ‘89 / ‘92 Batmobile with big front wheels (not sure how else to describe it), at least 1 or 2 color variants of the Batcopter, the Desert Camo Tumbler, several color variants of the Affinity Batmobile (there are at least 5 or 6), at least one other color variant of the Batman Live! Batmobile, the Crooze Batmobile...that might be it. There could be other little odds and ends I’m unaware of. One of these days I need to catalog everything and find out just how many distinct castings there are versus different paint jobs.
Batmobiles: ERTL Collection L to R, T to B: Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Batboat, Batmissile, Batboat (Forever), Redbird, Batwing (Forever), Bathammer
Then I got this cool little set made by ERTL celebrating the Keaton / Schumacher films. I don’t know what scale these are, and some of them are kinda silly looking, but it was pretty much the only way to get diecast models of the Redbird (Robin’s motorcycle from B&R) and the Bathammer (that weird sled thing from B&R that they used on the ice). Also included are both a glossy and matte version of the ‘89 / ‘92 Batmobile - I remember it labeled one as being from Batman and the other from Batman Returns, but I’m not sure which...I think the glossy version was from Batman Returns. And there’s more: the Batman Forever Batmobile (weird and stubby looking; I’m convinced it isn’t proportional), the B&R Batmobile (kinda cool, but with weird flames coming out the back), the Batman Returns Batboat (nearly identical to the Hot Wheels 1:50 version), the Batmissile (smaller than the 1:50 Hot Wheels version), the Batman Forever Batwing (I want to like this but for some reason they made the bottom completely flat instead of fleshing out the design all the way), and the Batman Forever Batboat.
I know that ERTL has done a lot of stuff within these first four films, including a few bad guy vehicles and some smaller 1:72 or 1:84 scale stuff (I had some of this as a kid). Not sure how serious I am about hunting down all the ERTL stuff, but I wouldn’t mind picking up a piece here or there if the price was right. I wish Hot Wheels would go ahead and tackle some of the missing vehicles so I could have a matching set - like the Forever Batboat and Batwing, Redbird, and Bathammer.
Batmobiles: Corgi Collection T to B: 2000s Batsubmersible, 90's Batmobile (V1)
Recently I’ve been interested in Corgi’s line of Bat-stuff. They’re based out of the UK and they’ve basically scoured comics for any excuse to make a Batmobile. They don’t seem to be interested in the well known stuff from the movies. Regardless, their line of 1:43 Bat-vehicles is impressive. Details are sharp, they opt for blue instead of black most of the time, and most of the models feature at least one moving part. The best part? Most of them are wildly affordable! The local toy shop started offloading some recently - I only have 2 so far, the 1990′s Batmobile (version 1) and the 2000′s Batsubmersible - but I’m anxious to get more. They’ve got models that span every decade from the 40′s to the present, bad guy vehicles, and at least a few sans wheels that travel either by sea or air.
Alright so what was the point of all this? Was it just to try and rail off every Batmobile (and adjacent) I have by memory? Well yes partially but there’s a fun ending to this tale:
I finally got the 1989 movie Batwing!
And not only did I get it, but I got it for a steal. For whatever reason, the collectible toy shop I hit up frequently grossly undervalues their diecast Batmobiles. I remember when I found that 1940′s Batmobile by a sheer stroke of luck...I paid $7 for it. There are several for sale on eBay right now from anywhere from about $15 to $40, with $20 - $25 being the average. Of course if you’re smart you know that it’s not about what people are asking for an item, it’s about what they’re actually paying. So let’s look. Two for $18, two for $20, three for $15, and one for $25. Still, worst case scenario I got mine for half the price...and I guess that’s about what I’d say the store prices them at. This is good news if you’re a buyer, but if you’re looking to sell, you may want to turn elsewhere.
The Holy Freakin' Grail of the Hot Wheels 1:50 Batman collection...the Batblade. Anyone can own the rest of the collection for the right price, but this thing can be damn tough to find!
Anyway, the 1989 Batwing is probably the most valuable piece thus far in the collection, even though the Batblade is probably 4 or 5 times rarer. Right now there are 3 of these Batwings for sale on eBay, one for $80, one for $100 and one for a ridiculous $240. If you head over to Amazon, you can sometimes find sellers asking three or four hundred dollars for these things. My good news is that I got mine for $50! That still ain’t particularly cheap, but the chances of running across another deal that good - anytime soon anyway - are slim. Even if I am lucky enough to find one for $50 or $60 on eBay there’s still shipping to consider. (I took a quick look at sold listings and damn someone dropped the ball on the Batwing recently - sold it and a 1989 Batmobile for $29.95...asked $9.95 for shipping but still, that’s a freaking steal...I’d buy that just to resell the damn thing!)
While I was there I invested in an Animated Series Batmobile and a Batmissile. They should’ve been $60 altogether, but the guy was feeling generous and I walked away with those 2 for $45...that’s fucking crazy! I think I ended up dropping $50 on the Animated Series Batmobile and I got friendly with a guy selling the Batmissile and he agreed to sell it to me for $60, which I thought was actually pretty decent based on what I’d seen. I might not offload these 2 right away, but I expect to make back my money on the Animated Series Batmobile alone (I hope to bring in $50; maybe I’ll take $40 if it languishes too long) and then the Batmissile is pure profit - hopefully upwards of $70 or so! I know people aren’t going to be clamoring over each other to spend lots of money on collectibles right after Christmas, but like I said, even if these don’t sell right away, they’re scarce enough to eventually find a good home for a decent price.
No doubt this is weird as hell looking, but the more I look at it, the more unique and awesome I find it to be...
Of course what I’d really like to do is trade one for the Batblade. I would say I’d trade the other for the Batgirl Cycle, but it’s only available in a set (there is actually a rare standalone release from SDCC, but methinks the set will probably be cheaper anyway), and I’m not sure if anyone would see the merit in such a trade...though I’d actually be willing to accept a loose one provided it was in perfect condition!
Any takers out there? Anyone with a Batblade or ‘66 Batgirl Cycle wanting to trade...? The problem is that most people who’ve gone to the trouble of getting either one of these probably already has what I have to offer...and if they’re actually looking to get rid of them, they’d rather just have some money rather than trading to me and then trying to sell my item. Bleh. I’ll get a Batblade...one day...and once I do, then I’ll go crazy and swoop up the “Duck,” the Penguin Batmobile (I don’t know wtf this is about, but it’s real), and then I’ll lurk around for a good deal, free shipping on that Batgirl set.
Hopefully there’s someone who’s interested out there...and hopefully they read this in time! Or maybe someone can point me in the direction of a reputable trading community? I’d love to get in on the whole trading aspect with people who love the same stuff. Plug me in!

Horsing around
After watching the Darksiders III trailer I’m surprised Gunfire Games didn’t take the opportunity to retcon out Vigil’s bizarre decision to rename Famine and Pestilence. Instead we are left with a game featuring that famed horse rider of the Apocalypse, Fury (the other one is Strife).
The series has always seemed weirdly reluctant to make full use of the cool premise of the Four Horsemen battling against Heaven and Hell. Darksiders II was set largely in a fairly generic fantasy world with the Apocalypse pushed into the background and Death portrayed as an elite warrior rather than the actual Grim Reaper.
I don’t know if they’re just worried about stirring up religious controversy, but I can’t help but feel the setting would be more interesting if it went deeper into the Book of Revelation inspirations. TGN Professor
GC: It’s almost certainly the religious aspect, particularly with regards to the American market. As you imply, we can’t help but feel they would’ve been better off making up their own fantasy universe from scratch.
Stuck in time
Hooray!
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been playing through Darksiders, having enjoyed the sequel a few years ago. I was just thinking about what they could do for a third entry then saw the news about the new game which is great. Although watching the IGN reveal trailer I’m a little disappointed to see that the story doesn’t seem to have moved on at all.
Darksiders has you as War trying to clear your name. Darksiders II has you as Death in a concurrent story to the first game – trying to clear War’s name. The trailer for Darksiders III starts with War in chains, so it looks like his name is still not cleared yet?! Don’t tell me Fury now has to clear his name!
I was also thinking the format might have changed slightly. It’s probably a bit ambitions for a smaller studio (assuming Gunfire Games are smaller studio compared to a company like Bungie) but maybe they could have or will do something like a four-player co-op where you each play one of the horsemen and have to take on Destiny style raid dungeons. Anyway, can’t wait to hear a bit more info.
If Darksiders III does OK, it’s pretty certain we’ll eventually get a fourth staring Strife but let’s just hope it’s not all about clearing War’s name again! PsillyPseudonym (PsillySeudonym – gamertag)
GC: According to IGN it’s ‘set around the same time as the events of Darksiders II’, so we think you’re right. It certainly doesn’t look like War’s name has been cleared in the trailer.
Big impression
Can I just say what a wonderfully creepy game Little Nightmares is. I think walking through the dark with all the mannequins around toward the end was great/nerve racking!
But I’d also like to draw people’s attention to the PS Store, where, if like me, you were happy with the news of a third Darksiders game there is a bundle of both remastered games for £16. Which considering it’s £16 for the first one alone is pretty good! Liam
Furniture land
Thank god Bethesda chose to release a Prey demo, indeed. Wanted to write in to defend against Phil’s point. I was always planning on getting Prey based on the premise, alone but was probably going to wait for some sales first.
After playing the demo on hard difficulty I was not disappointed by the previews suggesting it was ‘a thinking man’s game’, which is undoubtedly a dig at the Call Of Duty crowd. It was a challenge of nerve and mind, like a cross between Garry’s Mod prop hunt and The Thing. I raised my wrench against any and all mugs and chairs. Playing with headphones on, even mop buckets I knew were black spiders made me touch cloth because of that damn music sting!
After multiple playthroughs of the demo I now have a good idea of what skill trees to level up (hacking seems like a very useful starting point) and have now pre-ordered the game (£40 on Amazon Prime). Really looking forward to exploring the rest of the game and I hope it’s not too short. And I’m really glad Bethesda decided to release a demo.
They got extra money out of me by doing so, as the demo convinced me to buy as soon as possible because it is so different from the majority of other first person shooters available now. I never got round to playing Dishonored 2, so I can’t comment how much of a clone Prey may be to it but I like Arkane and hope they do well. Beware the chair! Stretchy Grunt
The second year
I’m seriously beginning to wonder whether the Nintendo Switch could be a hit on the scale of the Wii. Every time we hear a new story about it the situation seems even more positive than before. And despite what it seemed like before launch I think the release schedule is working out pretty well, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe clearly off to a great start and Splatoon 2 likely to do very well too. I’m not so sure about ARMS, but I’m beginning to think it won’t be ignored as others were predicting a few months ago.
But of course with E3 approaching it only makes me wonder more about what Nintendo has coming up next. Super Mario Odyssey should be the perfect way to end the year but what about after that? We know about literally nothing at the moment and they’ve already used up all their biggest franchises: Zelda, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario. If Nintendo think they can follow that up with second-stringers like Pikmin and Kirby then I would’ve hoped they’d learned their lesson by now.
Maybe a new Metroid, since it’s been so long since we’ve had a proper one, but they need to keep with the new franchises. Splatoon worked out great and ARMS might do too. That’s what we need more of, not diminishing returns with a new Donkey Kong and a new Star Fox, until they get down to franchises not even their biggest fans care about. The Switch in 2017 seems to be working out great but it’s the Switch in 2018 I’m worried about now. Goose
You get what you pay for
Well, I just bought one of them retro game controllers from Argos with 200 games on it (you know the one where it’s in the shape of a joypad the size of a matchbox, priced at a tenner). However, I wasn’t expecting much for the price. Unfortunately, I will never know because my two-year-old LG 4K UHD smart telly hasn’t got the phono plugs to plug the game controller in so I can play it.
Now I not what you’re all going to say – why didn’t you go and get a converter to play the Damon thing? So off I went to my local Maplin store, only to be told it would cost me around £50 to buy a converter so I can see it on my screen. Or go and buy a new telly with the phono jacks already built into it. I wouldn’t mind but the whole gaming box only cost me a tenner in the first place.
So my question is how do other people manage to have all these other retro gaming devices like your new retro Ataris, Mega Drive, and the Nintendo gadgets to work on their tellies, because mines at least two-years-old now and surely any newer telly made after mine is just not compatible for these latest retro-crazed gaming devices to be played on due to the phono plugs. JAH
GC: We don’t know about the others but the NES Mini uses a HDMI cable. We assume you bought this, but it doesn’t seem to contain any real retro games – just a bunch of cheapo Flash games (there’s a PDF list here).
Oldest school
All this talk of remasters from gaz be rotten has got me thinking. I’d like to see much older games put onto games consoles, ones that were invented long before video games.
When I was growing up in Mevagissey many years ago my mates and I used to enjoy a jolly game of Poohsticks. I sure that some sort of video game could be made out of that.

Making the list
I have just finished playing Titanfall 2 and although it’s a great game, it doesn’t quite beat the other multiplayer shooters I’ve played in recent years.
My list goes in reverse order: 4. Titanfall 2 3. Overwatch 2. Star Wars: Battlefront (controversial!) 1. Splatoon (of course)
I’ve got a feeling not everyone will agree with that list. One thing I’ve noticed in all four games is the lack of emphasis or downright absence of a free-for-all mode. Titanfall 2 obviously has one, but the wait for a match was 10 times longer than the team modes – making it very unappealing to actually play. Free-for-all used to be the only game in town, with several different variants, but slowly it is being wiped out by team modes/games.
It seems a real shame as I am naturally a lone wolf player and free-for-all is a much more fitting mode for me to play. Not that I don’t enjoy team games at all, with Splatoon my favourite game ever, but I miss the more cutthroat and chaotic play of having everyone out to get you. Free-for-all is something I’d love to see as an option in Splatoon 2, I’m sure they could find a way to make it work. Ryan O’D PS: I know some would cry foul that they weren’t included already, but I hope they release new DLC tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

What’s everyone assuming Bethesda’s two new games at E3 are? Wolfenstein must be one of them, but what’s the other? The Evil Within 2 by the sound of the rumours I’d say. Ollie

This week’s Hot Topic
The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Steiner, who asks how much money do you spend on gaming a month?
Do you have a specific budget that you stick to, or some other kind of system to make sure you don’t spend too much at once? What do you do when multiple games come out at the same time? And do you try and have money in reserve for the launch of new consoles and other hardware?
What percentage of your games do you buy for full price and how much do you take advantage of sales? Do you resell your games or buy second-hand, and how are your habits changing as digital downloads become more prominent?
