“Blake deserves so much better than this fandom”
Counter: Yang deserves so much better than Blake. Why do you guys ship them together?
Well first off, Blake’s an amazing person/character. Of all of team RWBY she has the loftiest goal. Ruby just wants to help people, Weiss wants to reclaim her family name for the better, and Yang originally wanted to be a huntress for the adventure (though it’s likely that’s shifted more to wanting to protect the people she cares about at this point). Blake though? Blake wants equality for her entire race. She wants an end to racism, something we haven’t even accomplished in the entirety of human history (and Remnant seems to be less progressive even than places like the US if the explicit segregation is anything to go by).
She’s also sooooo strong and courageous. Blake has dealt with discrimination her whole life, been part of organization that went from peaceful protest to terrorist activity, and escaped from an abusive relationship. On top of that she’s faced down the White Fang time and time again in her pursuit to do what’s right, and stared her abuser down twice. She’s also managed to actually bring change into the organization, showing that her determination has payed off.
She appears quiet and anti-social on the surface but truthfully she loves her friends and family, and is more than capable of being just as silly as all of them. Blake cares about them so much that she’s the first member of the team to put into words how much they mean to her, and she’s willing to be miserable and alone if it means they’ll be safe. People see her as selfish for running but on the contrary she’s being selfless when you take her motivation into account (protecting them from Adam).
Sure, she’s made mistakes but that makes her all the more compelling as a character. She’s complicated and flawed which ultimately makes her relatable, and just because she’s made mistakes doesn’t mean she can’t work towards fixing them.
Second, the original post had nothing do with Bumbleby but since you asked...
From the moment they become partners Blake and Yang just click in a way only Ren and Nora do: they get along flawlessly, their teamwork allows them to be the first pair to reach the relics, and it’s made clear that they enjoy each other’s presence. Despite seemingly being so different on the surface they just get each other in away that no one else does. When Yang is expressing pride for her sister Blake’s the one person who notices and when Yang is worried about Ruby during the fall of Beacon it’s Blake that knows what to say to reassure her. On Yang’s side she’s the only one who can get through to Blake when she’s hyperfocused on stopping Torchwick.
Yang brightens up Blake’s life to the point that it’s been explicitly said by Gray himself that Blake is sunnier for having been around her. On the other side Blake is the one person Yang feels comfortable relying on. Yang admits to needing her there for her and Blake is the first person she opens up to about her mother. They also think so highly of each other: Blake sees Yang as the embodiment of strength while Yang admires her determination and passion (”I’m sure you’ll figure it out. You’re not one to back down from a challenge Blake”).
There’s sooooo much more that can be said about their relationship, but for now I’ll just leave it at how well they match each other and how mutual their relationship is.

masterpoppers replied to your photo: So I never want to see anyone blame Miles for...
The problem I have with Jaune is that he consistently detracts from other characters when he is in a scene with them. Take Episode 11 of this volume for instance. Cinder has a massive hate boner for Ruby. Yet, for some reason, she goes after Jaune. And not only that, but she decides to impale one of his old love interests, before attempting to take out Ruby. I don't mind Jaune having screentime, development, or whatever, so long as the main characters are actually getting equal to or greater amounts of development.
Not the point of the post. Dislike how much screentime Jaune does or doesn’t get all you want, but people need to stop directing their blinding hatred towards the character (hatred that is, arguably, overblown and completely out of line at time) at Miles, especially since he’s gone out of his way to NOT write Jaune and openly states that he sometimes wishes he DIDN’T voice him as a result of the constant harassment and unfair insult he’s received as a result.

masterpoppers replied to your post: y’all, if blake and yang really do end up falling...
@ultra-taderdot93 Get your sh*tty head canon out of here. I’m sick of this sweet, goody-goody nonsense. Let’s have some realistic drama for once.
Dude. Knock it off. This spewing of childish and vitriolic speech is entirely unnecessary. Let them have their own opinions, and you have yours. It’s easy to be kind. Please give it a try.

How to miss the point of a post entirely as demonstrated by @masterpoppers
All you had to do was to put in the tags whether you’re thirsty for Ghira or James. So what’s it gonna be, huh? Ghira? Or James? It’s not a math problem, you should be able to figure that one out for yourself.
Also, something for you to consider since I know exactly where you’re coming from with your “I’m all for equal representation”: All ur favs r gay. All of them. Without an exception. Gay. Gay as fuck. They’re gay. Sorry I don’t make the rules.

(yeah guess what? That man? He’s gay)

I mean, they aren’t immortal, so this is just false advertising.
Technically Grimm are stated to only grow stronger with age, never dying or decaying, hence immortal. They’re not invulnerable or unkillable, but they are immortal.

masterpoppers replied to your photoset: top 15 rwby fights - as voted by my followers #8....
You’re kidding right? This may be the worst fight in the series, with V3E1 being a close contender.
Opinions are a funny thing.

@masterpoppers replied to your photo: so one thing i wasn’t expecting - Penny shows up...
So, Miles and Kerry said canon until not canon for the manga. Yeah, I think that the manga is no longer canon.
the intent with ‘canon until it’s not’ is that it’s to be taken as canon until the show itself contradicts it
Penny being deployed on mission and having a long distance flight attachment doesn’t contradict what we’ve seen in the show

I’ll say this as politely as i can... I WILL BE THE JUDGE OF WHAT HAPPENS AND I WILL BURN THAT BRIDGE WHEN I CROSS IT!
Not happy hearing of hate BEFORE it happens... its like... here’s an example: its if like people told me the Juane arc was the worst arc of the show BEFORE i saw it... since i like to try to “enjoy” things more than hate... i would have been pretty apprehensive and do my best to be a contrarian... and maybe JUST MAYBE would have ruined my experience...
huh, apparently i found something WORSE than spoilers to deal with...

Ilia did speak. The hell are you on about?
I said that she did. It was just under a read more to prevent spoilers.

@masterpoppers As much as I can get behind the idea of a color for the team name, I just can't see Oscar leading the team? As far as I can tell he doesn't know the first thing about fighting, and even with Ozpin helping him I jut can't picture Oscar leading. Plus, Jaune, Nora, and Ren are a solid team at this point. Having Oscar show up and suddenly lead them because "reasons!!1!" would feel weird to me, lmao.

@masterpoppers well, Raven and vernal are trying to use Cinder and her crew. They want to relic for themselves in order to try and protect the tribe from Salem. (Which imo is just going to have Salem’s crew try and attack the tribe to get the relic, unless Raven has a plan for that too.) So Those to are more or less on their own side than Salem and Cinders.

@masterpoppers fam I said I was hoping I didn't say it would be canon. Knowing Miles's writing style so far I doubt he's gonna make bumblebee canon but a gay can hope

masterpoppers replied to your photo: I love the scene from the end of Extracurricular...
This actually is a huge problem throughout the show. Their excuse is that they can’t do panty shots because they didn’t model the girls with underwear. However, for some reason they still keep showing the undersides of their skirts. Why no just put them in pants if you are going to put them in these positions?
I’m...are you for real?
Because it’s an inevitable fact that when you have characters in skirts in a show that involves a lot of jumping around and fighting and acrobatics, the camera will end up in that position. Which is the excuse that most shows like this use for why they have panty shots. But it’s not a panty shot if there’s literally. Nothing there. Which is why they didn’t model the girls with underwear. It’s not sexualized in any way. There’s just a blank void. It’s not that they “can’t” do panty shots, it’s that from the beginning they said “no, we’re not going to do that, that’s gross”.
What RWBY shows is that it is literally that fucking easy not to put panty shots in your anime.

masterpoppers mentioned you on a post “Torrian on twitter admitted that the characters on rwby have been...”
@rerwby Truth be told, Volume 4 was actually better than the previous volumes. Not in terms of action mind you (except for perhaps Qrow vs Tyrian), but the narrative was mostly solid.
Design. Aesthetic. Not story.
Everything in the public knowledge about RWBY continues to be volume 3 and earlier. Cosplayers, art, and now even their cameos in Cross Battle all borrow from the older designs. Nothing about the new costumes scream iconic like the original ones did.
But hell, you could even dip into narrative territory to bring up how, like I said, even Chibi won’t touch the newer stuff. The show can’t even do comedy anymore with the volume 4 and beyond plot. Like, what happens when season 4 of Chibi comes out? They’re still gonna be in Beacon? Really? It will have been like 3+ years since the main show touched Beacon at that point.
