idk what discourse dimension some of you "fandom elders" are stuck in, but in my ~15 years in online (and sometimes irl) fandom spaces, this is the golden age for me

shipping wars have literally always existed and acting like we all used to hold hands and sing kumbaya is insane. "well, there wasnt this moral component thats soooo annoying these days" okay but thats worse. you do see how thats worse, right? people used to tell each other to kill themselves over zutara vs kataang and then not even care when people were racist. twice as mad for reasons half as reasonable. also, where were you all in 2015-2019? that was the era of "steven universe is fascism apologism" and "i headcanon these characters as found family, so its incest to ship them". now shipping "drama" is like "oh i broke mutuals with them after they wrote smut of this child character being assaulted by their parent", which is actually just a normal response

wondering what torment nexus some of you are trapped in where fandom has gotten more toxic? hope you can escape soon, because im having a ball out here in a world where biphobia is seen as a bigger problem than a ship being dumb

Comet clothes

So the old lady who owns a restaurant and befriended Comet will be named “Mrs. Li” :-))

But yeah the staff of the restaurant are actually nice to comet, they took a liking to his awkward but adorable demeanour

(Though not everyone in the city is like that, especially if they see a robo in a job a human usually does, but the staff will just kick them out if they see this happening :P)

Also thought it would be cute if comet learned a Chinese language (like mandarin) so he can talk to the regulars easily

I like writing for comet, he’s so tame compared to literally the rest of the main cast <;-DD

Question for the DPxDC crowd

what do you guys actually consider liminal? Like, I genuinely don't know anymore

because early on it was pretty much just Jazz having grown up with ectoplasm in the house for years and in her food, which makes sense, and it was an extremely rare thing

then it got expanded to Sam and Tucker

Then members of the Bat crew that got resurrected by a Lazarus pit(and Dick for some reason? He's never canonically died guys...)

Now it seems to be the entirety of Amity Parkers, All the Bat clan, half of Gotham, Half the Justice Leage, the entirety of the League of Assassins

is it just having come into contact with ectoplasm/Lazarus Pits? Prolonged exposure? Because it's starting to feel like everyone is liminal besides the guys in white for some reason

Like you guys have started using Liminal to basically replace the word "Ecto-contaminated" There is a canon word for the thing you guys have started using liminal to describe

Rooster fic ??

so you all convinced me, so heres a little snippet of the fic for your pleasure. (i've never written before, Im just a chronic reader so feedback is welcome. Also should this be a one shot or a chaptered fic?)

working summary;

The thing most of the daggers will tell you is that Rooster isn't really the kinda guy who looms. Sure he’s tall as hell, but in that quiet way, like the immovable object his will is, so one could forgive them for not realising just how BIG Rooster is. After all, it’s not very often they get to see him use it.

Mav and Ice:

Maverick was not super pleased when Bradley started hitting his growth spurts in highschool. The rest of the 86’ boys thought it was hilarious. Topping out at 6ft at the age of 17 made for an interesting experience, though Bradley wished the basketball coach would stop pestering him to join the team, he was happy with baseball thanks very much. When he stopped growing though Mav gave a sigh of relief. “Gonna be honest kid, I was hoping you’d be a bit closer to your mum’s height, but i'll take it.”

“I don't know Pete, he’s only 17. Could still grow a bit more don’t you think?” Ice asked, cocking an eyebrow.

“Yeah Mav, I’ve still got growing to do. Might even take over Uncle Ice?” Brad smirked at him, making an effort to look down his nose at the man sitting at the kitchen table.

“As long as you don’t take after Slider kid, I only need one obnoxiously sized tree in my life. Thank god you took after your dad’s build, you get any bigger and you’ll have to buy another new wardrobe” Mav chuckled, rubbing his brow. 

Of course that statement came back to bite him in the ass when Bradley returned from Uni. Ice had convinced him to at least get a degree before jumping head first into becoming an aviator, just as a backup plan.  Sure they called and sent letters, but well, because of deployments they hadn’t really SEEN Bradley since they dropped him off for his second semester in first year. But well, Brad had sent Mav and Ice invitations to his graduation and they couldn’t miss seeing their son graduate. When Brad got on stage to accept his diploma though, Mav’s jaw almost went through the floor.
