Notes:

Steve's speech to the townspeople was quoted from the comic book, as was one of his encounters with Tony in the saloon. * Native People are referred in the vernacular of the day. No offence is meant. * Even though the comic book Timely is part of Battleworld, I decided to write it as if it existed in the real world in 1872, New Mexico.

Last Line: Though when this weird living dream of Captain America managed to help Quill to his feet, he started to wonder just what kind of hallucination this was.

Title: I Said Hey, What's Going On? There are no mutant powers and I have made Warren more like the Warren from the early X-Men comics than the Warren from X-Men Last Stand - but who knows how movie!Warren would have turned out if he didn't have to hide who he was all his life ;) Written for marvel-bang 2017. The story contains sex, swearing, violence, homophobia and gay slurs, suicide, mentions of past child abuse (non-sexual), and a major character death early on. But it has a happy ending, I swear. Summary: Eight people from across the world share a disturbing dream of a woman killing herself and then discover that they have become mentally and emotionally linked. For Bobby Drake and John Allerdyce, suddenly finding themselves as part of a cluster of Sensates is made even more complicated by their instant attraction to each other despite never having met in person. Throw in a couple of older Sensates who show up to help them and a man called Stryker hunting them all down and their already troublesome lives have taken a definite turn to the weird and dangerous.

The Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang is back for another year! Now that creator teams of the 2022 Cap-IM Reverse Bang are starting to post the wonderful Steve/Tony works, it's time for writers to start bouncing ideas for the 2022 Big Bang!

The moment's here! It's time for the 2022 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang!

SCHEDULE:

Now - September 14: Writers work on their fic for draft submissions

Wednesday, September 14th: Drafts and summaries are due and writer sign-ups close

Thursday, September 15th: Summaries are publicly posted

Saturday, September 17th: Accompanying fanworkers claim stories by summaries

October: Creators work on their piece of accompanying fanwork, writers finish their fics

Saturday, October 22nd: Teams select November posting dates

November: Posting begins!

What's a Big Bang?

A big bang is a collaborative event between writers and artists, meant to encourage the finishing of longer stories (in our event, 25,000 words or more). Writers will create a story, artists and other fanworkers will claim a story based on the summary and create an accompanying work for it.

All stories are welcome!

Whether you're a seasoned writer who has participated in the Cap-IM Big Bang in the past, or an aspiring author hoping to get started on the longfic of their dreams, we want to see your Steve/Tony story!

No need to sign up or pre-commit.

As long as you submit a draft of your story before the end of September 14th, then congratulations—you're part of this year's Big Bang!

If by the time the submission deadline comes around you realize you don't have enough of a word count to send in or that the story won't be as long after all—no need to give up on it. At least you have started and even if it's not going into the 2022 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang you still have started a draft that you can finish now, whether for the 2023 round, for yourself—or this year's marvel_bang, which has a 10 000 word requirement and needs your draft by September 20th.

You can't lose, so try for that story! We'll be excited wherever you send it in.

I have also aged down the Cuckoos, aged up Jones a little and I've lengthened the amount of time between Xavier and Cyclops being captured at the prison and Magneto escaping. And also, thank you for the brilliant art lazydazyfics Over here and sandrasfisher <3 <3 The story contains ex, some swearing, violence (one graphic bit), torture (mostly canon-level and 'off camera'), dubious medical practices, mentions of past child abuse (non-sexual), some PTSD and some Rogue and general X-Men-bashing. Summary: What would happen if Bobby hadn't been in the kitchen with Logan when Xavier's school was attacked? What if he'd been hanging out with John instead? That one small shift meant that John and Bobby were captured by Stryker's men along with the small group of other students. From there everything in John's life changed as he discovered just what he was capable of and he found himself becoming the type of person that he'd never have believed he could be.

I signed up to do 2 marvel bangs. I'm planning to write a sequel to last year's Matt Murdock/Danny Rand fic for one of them, but who knows about the other. Really I just got sign-up crazy and will probably be lucky to finish the one.
