Height: 5'2"
Pronouns: She/Her

đ©·About Vee:
Veeâs a bold, creative force who never backs down from speaking her mind. Born and raised in Miami in a Latino household, sheâs the oldest of three, with a 14-year age gap between her and her twin siblings, a boy and a girl. Her parents are divorced, and sheâs always had a protective streak â practically a second mom to the twins. Despite everything, her resilience and spunk shine through.
Her knack for storytelling and humor led her to create musical parodies on YouTube, which caught Ian Hecoxâs attention. She made her first Smosh appearance in December 2015 after officially while on a trip out to California to do some auditions, and by February 2016, she had officially joined the squad as their 6th member at 18. Since then, sheâs been a chaotic and lovable presence, never afraid to bring her unfiltered energy to any situation.
đ©·Career Highlights:
Singer, dancer, and songwriter, and producer known for both original music and covers. She also writes songs for other artists anonymously.
Sheâs incredibly close with the members of her backing band, "Tempest Haze", who are like family to her.
Has worked with Ryan Tedder on new projects.
Starred in two episodes of "The Goldbergs" as Matt Bradleyâs love interest back in 2017.
Dreams of launching her own makeup brand someday.
Has acted in more serious roles in films to showcase her range and aspires to one day perform on Broadway.
A producer/director for Pit and Games since 2022.
Formerly posted parodies on YouTube, but now shares her original music, vlogs, and covers.
đ©·Fun Facts:
Huge True Crime fan â she and Amanda will talk your ear off about their latest documentary binge.
Fluent in Spanish and English, she often slips into Spanglish when excited or mad.
Obsessed with Taylor Swift, 5SOS (who once surprised her on Smosh!), and was a massive 1D stan.
Has around 20 tattoos and a faded surgical scar on her back.
Sheâs a talented artist and can draw impressively well.
Has been dancing since she was very little.
Pinky, her light brown toy poodle, is her ride-or-die.

(Vee, Courtney, and Shayne are filming Show No Name. The question: âWhoâs your celebrity crush?â Veeâs turn: - 2017)
Vee (grinning, no hesitation):
"Megan Fox. Just in general but also in "Jenniferâs Body", covered in blood in that lake scene. Iâd let her do whatever the hell she wanted to me. No questions asked."
(Courtney snorts, but Shayne immediately starts choking on his spit, nearly falling out of his seat.)
Shayne (gasping for air):
"VEE! WHAT THE HELL?!"
Vee (shrugging with a grin):
"And then after her, Chris Evans. Look at him. He could split me in half like Captain America's shield. I'd let him vibe my âraniumâ any day and I'm not even that much into blonde dudes- no offense Shayne- but oof!"
Shayne (still laughing but exasperated):
"You need to stop right now. This is a family-friendly channel!"
Vee (laughing, completely unapologetic):
"Literally since when?!"

Tres Hero Boys
@questbedheadâs post inspired me to write arcswap fic because itâs such a great concept. this was definitely supposed to be short and then it spiraled out of control
Their first mission goes pretty terribly.
The man theyâve been asked to subdue doesnât look like much. Heâs tall and thin, dressed in the most ridiculous costume â a shimmering black cloak over a long, purple dress emblazoned with a black spider symbol. The staff in his hands also has a spider at the top of it, and Taako has to give him points for sticking to his theme even if it does look tacky as hell. (Not that the matching red spandex uniforms theyâve been forced into are much better.)
The man himself doesnât look like a threat â heâs even smiling and waving at them as they approach â but behind him stands a massive, black spider with dozens of angry, red eyes, and Taako takes one look at it and thinks fuck this.
He signed up to get super powers, not get eaten by a giant spider.
Luckily, Magnus looks enthusiastic enough for the both of them, so while he and Merle rush towards the man, Taako hangs back. The captain reminded them that they have to stay in range as they were leaving, so he sticks around instead of running, but he keeps as much distance from the fight as he possibly can. 100 yards is pretty far, though; he figures as long as he keeps them within sight, it should be fine.
Magnus leaps straight into the fight and tries to literally wrestle the giant spider to the ground while Merle sends some tree roots at the man. The spider manages to push Magnus away, and he slides a few feet across the ground and into the side of a parked car. He jumps up quickly, then picks up the entire car and holds it over his head, ready to swing down on the spider as a makeshift weapon.
Taako canât help but grin gleefully from his spot on the sidelines â this is one of the most ridiculous things heâs ever seen, and Magnus may be a hotheaded dumbass, but he sure is entertaining. Taako steps back to lean against the wall behind him so he can enjoy the show more comfortably, but the minute he moves backwards, he feels something inside him snap.
The little bundle of power heâs felt inside himself ever since the transformation vanishes instantly, and then he hears Magnus start yelling as both he and the car topple over, the weight suddenly too much for him to handle.
âWhat happened?â the captain asks. The three of them sit across from him in his office, still dressed in their stupid red uniforms. Magnus has a sling around one arm and an entire half of his body is purpling into a painful looking bruise. He has some dried blood smudged under his nose. Merle has a black eye and fairly bad road rash down one arm.
Taakoâs absolutely fine.
He feels several eyes drilling into him, but he ignores them, studying his nails. The polish has chipped, so he resolves to repaint them when theyâre done. Maybe blue this time? Or should he match it to their uniforms?
âI would have had him if Taako hadnât run away,â Magnus says, and both his teammates bristle in response.
âYou would have?â Merle barks. âI was there too!â
âI didnât run away,â Taako argues, because he might be a coward but he doesnât appreciate Magnus accusing him of it. âI was giving you the space to do your thing, my man.â
âYeah, too much space,â Magnus says, his voice much too loud in the small office.
The captain pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. âI told you your abilities wouldnât work if you werenât within 100 yards of each other.â
âWell, I didnât bring a yard stick with me,â Taako says. âI misjudged the distance.â
âThen I have a suggestion,â the captain says. He lowers her hand and directs a steely-eyed stare at him. Itâs more intimidating than Taako would admit, especially since the captain is like half his height. âStick closer to your teammates next time.â
It doesnât take Magnus long to get over the whole incident. He grumbles and glares at Taako for the rest of the day, but by breakfast heâs smiling and cheery again, describing the dog he saw recently with great excitement and wondering aloud whether the captainâs âno dogs in the âBurgâ rule has any exceptions while Taako tries his best to ignore him.
Itâs far faster than it would have taken Taako to get over it, but he suspects Magnus might actually be incapable of holding a grudge â though he does insist Taako do everything he canât do one-handed as an apology. He accepts this without argument, because opening a few jars is far better than having to actually apologize.
When Magnusâs arm finally heals, the captain forces them through more training before he sends them out in the field again. They get paired off against Team Sweet Flips, and surprisingly manage this fight a lot better than they had the real one.
They still lose, but at least they manage to take out Carey before Noelle grabs their flag.
Taako gets more involved in their second mission, but itâs only partially because of the captainâs orders and mostly because he really enjoys taunting their opponent.
âCan you do anything?â he laughs as Jenkins fails once again to hit him. âBecause I can do this!â He lets his body grow and stretch, reshaping into a new form that towers above the man before him, and he hopes his smug grin remains even as a T-Rex.
Jenkins pales, and Taako lashes his sharp teeth a few times just for the affect. He feels powerful and badass, and it doesnât even matter than Magnus and Merle are focused on subduing the monsters Jenkins create instead of helping him, because Taakoâs got this. Heâs good.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he sees Magnus dart away from the rest of them, charging determinedly towards something Taako canât see, and dread pools in his stomach as he realizes whatâs about to happen just a few seconds before it does.
Taako tries to yell at him to stop, but forgets he canât speak in this form. Magnus keeps moving, and then thereâs a snap, and Taakoâs back in his normal form.
Jenkins stares at him in surprise for just a moment, before his mouth pulls up into a delighted grin. âWhoâs a shitty superhuman now?â he taunts as another monster appears behind him. Taako canât even duck before a massive, meaty fist punches him right in the face.
The black eye is almost impossible to hide with makeup, but Taako still tries. Heâs pulling out a new shade of cover-up to try when thereâs a knock at his bedroom door. He doesnât even look up to yell, âGo away, Magnus!â
His teammate had been far guiltier about getting Taako hurt than Taako had been after their first fight, and heâd been hovering over him since they got out of their debrief with the captain, until Taako yelled at him to leave him alone and barricaded himself in his room. If he hears one more apology, heâs going to scream.
The door swings open anyways, and he turns to yell at Magnus before he realizes itâs Lup.
âWoof,â she says. âThatâs quite the shiner.â
He deflates as she jumps up on his bed. âYeah, Maggie got out of range and let me get my ass kicked.â
âThatâs the one that calls himself âThe Hammerâ, right?â
âThatâs the one,â Taako says, then sighs and throws the cover-up down in defeat and moves to sit next to his sister, dropping his head down onto her shoulder.
âYou guys still having trouble staying in range?â she asks as she brings a hand up to card gently through his hair. âWhat happened this time?â
âMagnus saw someone in trouble or something and ran after them.â
âWell,â Lup says. âCanât fault him for that, I guess.â
âI can,â he says stubbornly, and Lup snorts, then flicks him on the forehead.
âYouâre still beautiful, babe. Donât worry.â
He smiles at that, then asks, âHowâs your group?â Lup groans dramatically.
âThey paired me up with two nerds, Koko. I donât know whoâs worse. Mr. I-Wanted-To-Be-A-Conductor wants to play classical music during our training, but Barry thinks ketchup is spicy. Ketchup, Koko.â
She sounds truly pained by this, and Taako canât help but laugh.
âBarryâs pretty good in a fight, though, even though he really doesnât look it, and weâve been kicking ass so far, but Kravitz yelled at me after the last fight for starting a fire. He gets thatâs like my whole thing, right?â
âHe sounds like the worst,â Taako tells her, hating the guy just on principle.
âAnd Magnus sounds like a dumbass,â Lup adds.
âThey should have just put us together.â Itâs sort of a joke, except that he means it with his whole heart.
âNah,â Lup says, grabbing his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. âYou couldnât keep up with me.â
Their third fight is successful.
Taako stays with the group this time, though he still hangs back as much as possible. Turns out that as long as he stays within range, Magnus still does most of the work. Merle sort of helps, though the vines he sends at Marvee seem to trip Magnus up more than the bad guy.
Still, they manage to successfully subdue Marvee with relatively no injuries. Magnus get a few cuts on his face, but theyâre more superficial than anything and he actually seems pretty proud of them.
The captain even tells them, âGood job,â after their debief.
It actually feels pretty good to come back victorious, and Taako goes to find Lup to rub their victory in her face. Looks like hers isnât the only team that can kick bad guy butt.
The next time they get sent out, theyâre supposed to track down a giant worm. Taakoâs not even kidding. A fucking giant worm that spits fire and has been terrorizing the cityâs citizens. What the hell has his life become?
They track the worm to the subway tunnels itâs using to get around, and Taako takes one look at the stairs down to the subway and changes his mind about being a team player.
âOkay, hereâs the thing,â he says from the top step. Magnus is already almost to the bottom, Merle not too far behind him. âIâm not going in there. You chucklefucks have fun. Taakoâs good out here.â
âBut Taako you have to come with us,â Magnus argues.
âNope. Uh-uh.â He folds his arms over his chest and points his face stubbornly in the air. âYou do what you want, but Iâm not going down into a dark, underground tunnel to get eaten by a worm. Taakoâs not going into that walking death trap, no thanks.â
âHow the hell are we supposed to fight it then?â Merle asks.
âI donât know, throw some vines at it?â He shrugs. âOr whatever you do? Iâll stay within range so you can do your thing, but Iâm not going down there.â
âThat doesnât even make any sense!â Merle starts to argue, but Magnus storms up to the top of the stairs and grabs Taako before he realizes whatâs happening, throwing him over his shoulder.
âHey, what are you doing!?â he yells as Magnus starts walking back down the stairs. âNo! Put me down! I said Iâm staying out here!â He pounds his fists on Magnusâs back, but the man doesnât even flinch.
âAnd then he picked me up like a sack of potatoes and just dragged me in there, even though I told him I wasnât doing it.â
Lup laughs so hard she nearly snorts the soda sheâs drinking out of her nose. It wouldnât be the first time itâs happened. âOh, thatâs great. I gotta meet this guy.â
Taako flicks a piece of potato across the table at her. âWhose side are you on?â
âHeâs an action first kind of guy. I can appreciate that. So did you find the worm?â
âYeah, we found the worm,â Taako exclaims. âAnd it tried to eat us! And we had to all run away because, surprise, it was much stronger and bigger than us!â His voice goes up a full octave as he talks, getting squeakier and threatening to crack. âAnd I nearly died because Magnus rushes in!â
first TAZ fic Iâve written, so Iâm still getting used to everyoneâs voices
so headcanons for this little au:
Taako is a shapeshifter and doesnât have a hero name or secret identity. Magnus has super strength and goes by The Hammer. Merle controls plants and Iâm not sure what his hero name is yet. They have red uniforms.
Other teams are the Reaper Squad who wear black uniforms. Lup can control fire/turn herself into fire and goes by Phoenix. I havenât decided on Kravitzâs powers yet, but he goes by âReaperâ. And Barry can turn into a spectral spirit, and I havenât figured out a name for him yet.
Team Sweet Flips wear blue uniforms. Killian can transform into essentially the Incredible Hulk, though itâs by choice; no clue what her name is. Carey can turn invisible and goes by âRogueâ because I couldnât come up with better. And Noelle can control electronics (and her catchphrase is âhero time!â)

How voice assistants like Alexa can help marketers reach elderly Americans
The baby boomer generation placed smartphones in the hands of the millennial generation and younger generations. As the baby boomers enter the retirement stage of life, theyâre not quite up-to-speed on all the great things that technology can do for them.
Part of the reason for that is that theyâre just not as familiar with all the things technology can help them with. Elderly people have a low frustration tolerance for learning how technologies work which is a big reason why voice assistants like Alexa are catching on with this audience.
With devices like Amazon Alexa or Google home, they simply speak their request and the device responds. No swiping or clicking required.
Voice-first technology is a game-changer for seniors
A San Diego pilot project conducted by Davis Park, the executive director for Front Porch Center for Innovation and Wellbeing, set up an Alexa system in a retirement community with 50 residents where most residents were over 80 years old and observed the results.
About 75% of the residents used their smart devices regularly. Instructors focused on helping the residents to connect with the technology. For example, they set up the technology so they could use voice commands to listen to their favorite types of music or watch or listen to their favorite sports teams. From there they were able to branch out and learn how to use the technology to turn the lights off and on, change the temperature, adjust the volume on the music, listen to audiobooks, and get medication reminders using only their voices.
Voice-first technology quickly generated excitement for them because it allowed them to have greater control and independence, which means they could be less reliant on others. They also felt safer, less isolated, and more connected to friends, family, and the community. In essence, voice-first technology gave them a greater quality of life.
What possibilities does voice technology bring?
The frontrunners of voice technology in the U.S. are Amazon Alexa and Google Home. There are, however, even more companies that have Voice devices available. Weâre also seeing third party apps on these platforms, built specifically with older Americans in mind.
For example, Alexa has Ask Marvee which is a free service where a senior citizen could send out a morning blast to their loved ones by saying, âAlexa, tell Marvee to send a message saying Iâm alright.â Everyone on the list gets a text, email, or both. Seniors can also use Marvee to ask for social visits and get news from their family members. Users can expand their list for a nominal fee.
Another app called âAsk My Buddyâ uses voice commands to send an alert via text, call, or email to designated people in times of crisis or trouble. Itâs accessible through Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Microsoft Cortana. Itâs the next best thing to calling 911.
Alexa also works with LifePod, a proactive voice-first technology that initiates interactions based on preconfigured schedules. The app prompts seniors to follow their routines for taking their medications, checking in with caregivers, staying hydrated, getting exercise, or anything else at a scheduled time, including playing music. If the user doesnât confirm or respond, the app automatically alerts a caregiver. The app also uses artificial intelligence to recognize irregularities in a seniorâs condition, behavior, or sleep patterns and alerts their loved ones.
ElliQ is much like a smart speaker that sits on a nightstand or table. It was created by Intuition Robotics with the senior audience in mind. ElliQ will send or play messages to loved ones. If you ask ElliQ to play some music or pull up some photographs of the grandchildren, the app responds accordingly. If a senior is lazing the day away, ElliQ will suggest that they take a walk or get up and get moving.
The company incorporated robotics technology into ElliQ which is reflective of a humanâs body language. When a senior speaks to ElliQ, it swivels its âheadâ towards the senior. The device also lights up when itâs speaking. These features increase engagement between the user and the device without trying to mimic a human-robot.
The objective is for the device to be a service bot that doesnât replace a human companion. Dor Skuler, CEO of Intuition Robotics, states that older adults who are participating in their pilot program are connecting to it. Customers give ElliQ a female gender and classify her as a new entity in their home â somewhere between a person and an appliance.
Benefits of voice-first technology for the senior population
The goal of voice-first technology is to provide value for the people who use it. By communicating with voice for normal everyday tasks, itâs convenient, saves time, and itâs cost-effective. The value for seniors increases exponentially. For the senior who needs his or her hands to get around using a walker, itâs far easier to ask an electronic app to turn the lights on or off. They no longer need to scour their home looking for a smartphone to call their loved ones every day and tell them theyâre doing okay. They will no longer have to put notes up around the house reminding them to take their medication.
If a senior slips and falls, all they have to do is call out to their app and it will alert someone to send help right away. Photos and videos of close family and friends provide a way to cheer up lonely seniors. With an app like ElliQ, they can see photos or videos of their family members any time they choose, without having to ask someone to dig heavy boxes out of the attic, so they can sort through photographs.
For family members of aging loved ones, voice-first technology gives them an all-important peace of mind. They can wake up every day and get a message telling them that their loved one is okay and doing well. There is less fear about their loved ones falling and getting injured and not being able to call for help. It eliminates the worry of envisioning them lying helpless on the floor for hours before help arrives. Itâs helpful to know that their beloved seniors feel less isolated because they can gain access to audiobooks, music, and television just by making requests out loud.
How digital marketers can create strategies for seniors by using voice
Do you know what a voice strategist is? Well, I didnât know what it was either until I met Scot and Susan Westwater, the co-founders of Pragmatic Digital at Global Marketing Day in New York City. When I asked them about how to create strategies for senior care using voice strategy, their first tip was clear â have a clear understanding of what you want to accomplish and what your audience needs from a voice experience. Once youâve identified what it is that you want to accomplish, itâs easier to develop different strategies to reach your goal.
For example, if your goals are safety in the home, itâs important to know what their daily schedule looks like. Do they have a consistent routine? Does their daily routine vary on the weekends? Do caregivers come in one or more days per week? Are seniors capable of taking their own medication? Are they able to reach light switches and temperature controls? Can they see the digits on the thermostat? If they go for a walk, how long would they normally be gone? Are they able to take their medications as prescribed? Are they strong enough to lock their doors at night and unlock them without assistance if someone comes to the door?
By answering those questions, a digital marketer can help some to choose the right digital solutions to accomplish the customerâs goals.
Using voice-first technology to address health proactively
In many cases, people would live longer if they could make an early diagnosis based on symptoms in the early stages of a disease or illness. Itâs possible for voice-first technology to play a role in recognizing symptoms and recording when they first appeared. Electronic apps could play a role such as giving a call to action such as, âCall your doctorâŠâ making it possible to diagnose issues earlier and treat them before they become problematic or life-threatening.
How to maximize the potential for communication in the senior population
Communication is an important factor when considering your objectives. I find it helpful to list your business objectives and your audienceâs objectives and assess where the two meet. What does your message say? Is it clear? You have to think beyond the message and consider who your audience is. The senior population has very different needs than an active young couple or a busy single mother with multiple schedules to manage.
In my recent interview with Scot and Susan Westwater, they noted that they think of voice-first technology as audience-first technology. If you ask it a question, youâre going to get a direct answer. Itâs much more senior-friendly than traditional methods of search, where you type your question and have to click around for answers.
The future of voice-first technology in senior care services
As I consider the future of voice-first technology and how it could greatly improve the senior care service industry, I canât help but consider the barriers that stand in the way. The first obstacle that digital marketers have to overcome is trying to get the seniors on board with understanding that there is more to benefit than to fear with using voice-first technology. Many seniors live on fixed incomes and they may feel that technology is out of reach due to cost, without realizing how cost-effective it is.
Finally, thereâs always hesitancy when switching to something new. For many individuals, itâs easier to take a wait-and-see approach than it is to be a pace-setter.
The key to employing technology in the senior care industry is education, awareness, and a focus on safety and well-being for senior populations.
