this is the biggest redesign any of my characters have undergone, and i'm so happy with it. i knew i wanted Marumo to be some type of creature, with the idea of him being a cat coming later. i struggled for so long trying to make them look appropriately fluffy, and with getting the stripes the way i wanted it. underneath the costume, he has rosettes, not stripes, and his white socks go up to his knees and wrists, respectively.

Sugarless シュガーレス (2012) - Whump List

Whumpees: Mukai Shiro, Shiiba Gaku, Marumo Taiji, Urabe Osamu

Synopsis: At Kushima High School, the only law that reigns is that of the strongest. Shiiba Gaku is a student who recently transferred there. His goal is to defeat "Shake", the school's strongest student, in order to take control of it. The only thing is that Shiiba Gaku isn't as good of a fighter as he seems to think, but it doesn't stop him from relentlessly picking up fights in order to prove his strength without ever admitting defeat. His unique demeanour inspires some other students, Marumo Taiji, Urabe Osamu and Shiro Mukai, who gather the courage to run after the same dream.

Notes: Probably one of the worst opening credits I’ve ever listened to (well, I actually found myself dancing along after a few episodes lmao, so not that bad I guess?). This drama is absolutely ridiculous, but it’s funny and hella whumpy, why would I ask for more? I just wish women were not so objectified but, well, it’s Japan. Have fun and always keep fighting y’all!
