Re: Meta Posts

I have written and scheduled a meta post for Witch King, scheduled for the sixth. The basic topic for this post is going to be about the magical systems and how it inter-relates with the found family and trauma themes. (Because Our Protagonist has so much damn trauma.)

I also want to address his character arc and some of the fun things Wells did with gender expectations in the novel. I just have So Many thoughts about Kai! (As I may have mentioned, the outside view is that he's a terrifying Witch-Demon-King, a juggernaut of power. Then you go "Wait, this is a traumatized kid." AND THEN he proceeds to continue being badass because he is actually badass. I love that.)

I may have some vague meme ideas that I may inflict upon y'all. Because of reasons.

Another meta post I want to do is about Moon from the Rakshura books. (Because he is a pretty princess and technically the Action Girl. Because of fun gender expectations. Consort Rakshura are basically emu dads.) Also in the Rakshura books, and based mainly off of some fan meta/speculation on a Discord server I'm on: Not only are Arbora NOT a servant class, but they are also largely responsible for domesticating the Aeriat.)

Witch King is equal parts political thriller, murder mystery (if you were the one murdered and had to solve it) and Found Family.

I have been eagerly anticipating this book for months since I first heard about it (and then read the excerpt on Amazon). cancels counter attacks if his res is higher than foe's res

after combat, cancels the next action of the closest foes within 3 spaces the next turn à la seidr

his duo button lets you do that to any number of units in a cardinal direction

Ended up re-doing Ruta to be transmasc; they do have the other body type because there's certain armors + mods I want that only use tall F, so there's no helping it. I think this suits their character better so far, though--the male face didn't exactly capture the right personality.
