The Ledge #647: Annual Rock & Roll Christmas Party

It has become an annual tradition for The Ledge to put together at least two hours of (mainly) brand new holiday music that does NOT suck. That's the key word here. While most commercial Christmas music is banal, saccharine nonsense designed to annoy mall and fast food shoppers, every year sees a plethora of new rock and roll-based songs to get us through this pressurized time of the year.

Sure, many of these tunes are full of humor and snark, but none of them can be called novelty songs. Yes, there's also more than a few covers, but how can one not resist redoing the Ramones or Slade? 

There's also quite a few tracks from what I like to call "friends of the show". Jeremy Porter once again has a new Christmas tune. White Rose Motor Oil continues their year of classic covers, and Numb Surprise continues to...well, surprise us with spooky tunes that literally creep into my tiny brain. And yes, our pals at Rum Bar Records have their usual spot in the show with some heartfelt tracks.

Altra partita in casa e altra sconfitta. Il Nardò non riesce ad invertire la rotta. La Fidelis Andria approfitta degli errori della difesa granata e porta a casa una vittoria pesante.

Eppure il Nardò aveva ben cominciato il match con un approccio deciso nelle marcature e nella pressione sui costruttori di gioco andriesi. L'errore però in casa granata è sempre in agguato.

Già al 5' il De Luca, si faceva soffiare il pallone dai piedi da Da Silva che ostacolato dal portiere al momento del tiro non riusciva a spingere il pallone in rete. Delvino sulla linea spazzava ad un centimetro dal goal. Passato il brivido il Nardò provava ad impensierire Esposito con un colpo di testa di Maletic ben contrastato dal numero uno andriese.

La Fidelis non trovando varchi nelle maglie difensive granata provava il tiro da fuori con Kragl al 25'. De Luca respinge con i pugni. Pochi minuti dopo Piazza scodella in area dove si accende una mischia senza trovare la deviazione vincente.

E proprio nel momento in cui il Nardò sembrava in controllo del match arriva la frittata. Al 35' Davì sbaglia in disimpegno un facile appoggio, intercetta Fantacci che serve Kragl in corridoio, diagonale e goal. 0-1 per la Fidelis.

Il Nardò va letteralmente in bambola e due minuti dopo scontro fortuito tra Davì e Delvino che regalano palla e spazio a Da Silva, lesto ad involarsi verso la porta ma trattenuto da Davì. E' rosso diretto per il difensore neretino. La conseguente punizione di Kragl finisce alta.

De Sanzo prova a riequilibrare l'assetto, fuori Piazza e dentro Pinto. Il Toro regge l'impatto e va vicino al pari con un tiro di Correnti respinto da Esposito. Si va negli spogliatoi sotto di un goal e un uomo in meno. Nardò ancora in salita ripida.

Il secondo tempo vede la Fidelis decisa a chiudere la contesa. Al 55' punizione di Da Silva fuori d'un metro. Un minuto dopo tiro a giro di Fantacci al lato, poi ci prova Da Silva con un tiro sull'esterno della rete ma il goal è nell'aria.

Al 62' bolide dai 25 metri di Da Silva e De Luca è trafitto per la seconda volta. Lo 0-2 e l'inferiorità numerica rendono l'ultima mezzora un match privo di storia con solo una grande occasione per il Nardò al 70'. Calderoni scodella in area un cross su cui si catapulta Addae. Colpo di testa alto d'un soffio.

Il resto è accademia andriese con una sequela di sostituzioni a risultato ormai acquisito. Il Nardò esce tra fischi ingenerosi mentre l'Andria vince con un pensiero rivolto ai suoi tifosi aggrediti sull'autostrada. Il calcio è anche questo.
