Did you use to watch a lot of cartoons when you were a kid? Which channel did you tune in the most to do so? Any fave shows?
Tldr: yes, mostly Nick for cartoons, lots of em; SpongeBob, Winx club, totally spies, Phineas and Ferb, Tom and Jerry, Ninjago but only secretly because I felt too old to like it, Shaun the Sheep,
And then also: Simsalagrimm (2 tiny fantasy creatures going into fairytale stories and helping out), Tom and the Strawberry Marmelade Bread with Honey (Phineas n Ferb-like repetitive storytelling about Tom going to get his slice of bread but always ending up with only half yet he still found it really tasty), The Series with the Mouse (iconic edutainment show with animated in-between segments feat. Mouse and Friends; also theyâre both a cultural icon and very friend-shaped)
Actual post before I realized that was a pretty big wall of text that no oneâs gonna read but I put too much effort in to get rid of:
Sure did! Until Disney Channel joined later, there were really only 3 channels with cartoons available: the tax-funded mostly edutainment one, one by a company owning half the other channels, and Nickelodeon. Mostly tuned into the latter two, though the first one also had very few shows I absolutely ADORED.
But out of these three, for cartoons I mostly tuned into Nickelodeon! Mainly SpongeBob, followed by Winx Club and technically also Totally Spies, though it (like the majority of cartoons) kept jumping between Nick and Super RTL (the company one). That one had Tom and Jerry, Phineas and Ferb, and also Ninjago, but I felt "too old to be allowed to enjoy itâ so I only ever got to see it when younger folks from family were around so I could use them as an excuse XD And then thereâs the tax-fund one, which is 95% original stuff and also Shaun the Sheep. Coincidentally also a fave of mine!
Thereâs also this cartoon called SimsalaGrimm about these twoâŠtiny fantasy creatures of no apparent origin who go into the stories of fairytales via flying talking fairytale book to help the stories get to their Happily Ever Afters and such. Apparently it became available internationally later? Also the intro music was a banger.
Second oneâs "Tom and the Strawberry Marmelade Bread with Honeyâ, which is about Tom going out to get himself some strawberry Marmelade bread with honey. Itâs doing this Phineas and Ferb type thing where the structure of the episode is always the exact same, but the things within it vary. In his case: wanting his sugarbomb of a bread, doing a bunch of stuff outside to assemble it, and then at the end only getting half a bread of strawberry Marmelade with honey- but when he ate the bread, it tasted just as good as a whole one!
(Except for that one time he actually got the entire bread instead of just the half as always. Little me was SHOOKETH. Usually something would happen now, but no! He got his bread!! After all this time!!! My man finally made it!! Wooooo!!)
And then thereâs the third one: the mouse, the myth, the legend itself- The show with the Mouse.
Which is not actually a cartoon but an edutainment show with cartoon parts featuring the Mouse and friends in between the segments but I DO NOT care because the Mouse IS A FRIEND who DESERVES to be known! Also Shaun the Sheep was technically part of it, as itâd air at the end of the actual show.
FRIENDS!!

My Favourite Sims Youtubers
Simmers
Plumbella - she's English like me, and being from the Midlands I tend to vibe better with northerners than southerners, not to mention my partner is also northern lmao. anyway Jesse is hilarious and her content is so fun!
Marmelad - marmelad's builds are absolutely amazing. I love watching the stop-motion style as the build comes to life!
onlyabidoang - the sims logic is a hilarious series poking lighthearted fun at the silly parts of the sims. abi has a lovely accent to listen to as well!
James Turner - I relied on James' building tutorials so much when I first started getting into building. and if you like rags to riches, his bigwallet series is great!
Carl's Sim Guides - I always use Carl's guides, even to this day. his youtube videos are all really helpful and easy to watch!
Sims Series From Non-Simmers
CallMeKevin's Sims 4 With Jim Pickens - I adore Kevin's content, and the Dear Leader's ongoing story within the sims is hands down one of, if not my most, favourite series on Youtube. All Hail The Dear Leader!
GrayStillPlays' The Life Of A Sim Is A Terrible Life Indeed - where Jim Pickens has an ongoing story of murder, Gray does individual episodes of murder, taking complete advantage of the stupidity of sims. I find sims suffering frankly hilarious, and Gray has given us loads of iconic characters to enjoy.

Hot take but.... lady marmelade from the moulin rouge bso???
You mean for the kitchen singing sceneâŠ.I donât know. I feel like thatâs something that an American audience would appreciate, butâŠthis song isnât that special IMO? I mean if it comes on the radio, you jam to it (which is what happens during the kitchen scene in the OG), soâŠmaybe?
Just last night I thought of âDis-moiâ by BB Brunes (âdes rumeurs adolescentes disent que je ne suis pas un homme Ă femmes et rien dâautre quâun homme Ă toiâ) but thatâs just meâŠwe might not even get that iconic sceneâŠcan you believe?

Gouda Marmalade Grilled Cheese
I have been on a grilled cheese sandwich kick lately. And today's sandwich creation is a new fave: Gouda Marmalade Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Get the recipe and start your own vegan grilled cheese obsession..
Simple ingredients. Bold flavors.
Grilled Cheese. Today's recipe is a winter season dream. Toasty, buttery, sourdough bread cradles melty Gouda cheese, chopped walnuts, a hint of greens and black pepper and an accent of sticky-sweet marmalade jam. Super simple ingredients with flavors that really pop.
Vegan Grilled Cheese of the Month. This is December's creation. I can't wait to see what I dream up for you next month and beyond. #VGCOTM
Variations:
- Swap out the marmelade for any jam you'd like. You could even do maple syrup. - Swap Gouda for another flavor - I like any vegan white cheese - provolone, mozzarella, Parm - even DIY cashew... - Swap out the walnuts for any chopped nut or seed. Spicy pumpkin seeds would be nice. Or chopped pecans. - Add garlic! Add minced garlic to your sandwich, or slather on some soft roasted garlic. - Sage. Toasted sage leaves could also be a nice accent. - Black olives. Olives would add another punch of saltiness. - Kale. Wilted chopped kale would be really yummy in this sandwich. Spinach or chard could work too. Any wintery greens to add more flavor, fiber and nutrients. - Hot Sauce. A splash of your fave hot sauce will add a spicy kick! A pinch of cayenne could also work. - Add tempeh bacon or garlic hummus for a boost of legumes. - Avocado. Avocado is always a good idea...
What Vegan Cheese Melt Well? Honestly, there are SO MANY these days that I barely need to answer that question. I used Follow Your Heart for this sandwich, but other faves include: Daiya, Chao, Parmela and So Delicious. Browse my Vegan Cheese Guide for more ideas.
Other fave grilled cheese sandwiches? Here are a few..
- I love my spinach-stuffed grilled cheese. - Classic melty grilled cheese, inspired by the movie Chef. - Tomato-basil grilled cheese. - Apple-stuffed Grilled Cheese on Cinnamon-Raisin Bread. - Also my grilled cheese sandwich bites as tomato soup toppers...!
Holiday Shopping: DONE. Looking for an awesome plant-based + no-wrapping paper required gift for friends and family? Give them a gift that will keep on giving. The Finding Vegan Meals Program. Gouda Marmalade Grilled Cheese Sandwich
By Kathy Patalsky
Published 12/04/2018
Sticky sweet marmalade pairs with vegan Gouda cheese and chopped walnuts on sourdough bread.
Ingredients
2 slices sourdough bread
2-4 slices vegan Gouda cheese
1 Tbsp orange marmalade jam
2 Tbsp raw walnuts, chopped
small handful of mixed greens
pinch of fresh black pepper
1 Tbsp vegan butter
splash of extra virgin olive oil for the pan
Instructions
Warm a skillet over high heat. Add a splash of olive oil - coating the pan well.
Spread the vegan butter on both sides of the bread. You can use a bit more for a truly buttery-crusted sandwich.
Place one slice of the bread in the warm pan, rub it into the hot oil a bit and flip it. Then pile the cheese slices on one side.
On the other slice of bread, spread the marmalade.
Sprinkle the walnuts over top the cheese slices - in the pan - and then add the greens and black pepper over top. Then top that with the marmalade-slathered slice.
Using a spatula or heavy pot top, press down on the sandwich. Turn the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid - or the heavy pot lid. Allow to toast and warm for 2-3 minutes.
Flip the sandwich and repeat with pressing down the bread or covering the pan with a lid. The flipped bread side should be lightly browned by now with darker, toasty edges. Give the sandwich another 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
When the cheese looks melted and both side toasty, remove from the skillet. Slice and serve.
Yield: 1 sandwich

Benedict... A breakfast heaven
I love Berlin. I love the international atmosphere, the hustle and bustle of the traffic the "I can't be bothered"-Attitude, the mix of languages and the countless flavours one can explore and enjoy. Berlin has a lot in common with Amsterdam, the capital of the netherlands where I was born and raised. Berlin and Amsterdam have a lot in common, even though Amsterdam is much smaller than Berlin, they both are metropolises. Amsterdam is the city in which live the most nationalities worldwide. There are 180 nationalities living in Amtserdam and the racial and ethnic makeup of Amsterdam as of 2012 was 49.5% Dutch and 50.5% foreign. Amsterdam is known for its live-and-let-live attitude and acceptance, as well as its rich history. Its cannabis coffee shops, red-light district and historical sites like the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House draw in over 15.000.000 million visitors each year. Yesterday I discovered a place here in Berlin, which would perfectly fit in Amsterdam as well. I'm talking about Benedect. A restaurant where one can eat a gorgeous braktfast 24/7. Now the one or the other night owl, who hits the clubs regularly, might think "Well that's probably one of those spots where ome only survive totally drunk because it's run down." Indeed, normally such places are not the most posh establishments of the city, but Benedict is totally different. An elegant restaurant designed in a mixture with industrial and cozy elements. White tiled walls and cuddly chairs and benches partly overlayed with smooth velvet. The wallpaper is quite odd, but it just fits perfectly in this beautiful surrounding. It makes the whole place a bit homey :) Just great. Here you can see more information about Benedict: Facebook | Instagram | Yelp Here some impressions of Benedict: #gallery-3 { margin: auto; } #gallery-3 .fg-gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; The menu is mouth watering and one wants to order it all. Beware, even if you think "I'm hungry, so I'll take two plates!" you might be surprised how rich their breakfasts are. And they are DE-LI-CIOUS. Not your common "ham-cheese-slami"-stuff, but uncommon creations from all nations worldwide. Each plate is it's own little gem and pure indulgence for your palates. The guys and gals who took care of us, where friendly, relaxed and professional. And the host who seated us was also very kind and offered anothers when I told him, that there will be two children (3 years and 4 months old). And the table turned out to be much m0re confortable with little children. They have awesome cocktails by the way :) I had a Morning Martini which went down like silk and made my birthday a bit more special :) And their bread... It tastes like, as we in Holland say, if an angle flies over your tongue. Fresh, smooth and tasty. One could spend the whole breakfast with bread only and be happy. The bread and pastry is baked in their very own bakery which is adjacent to the restaurant so you can rest assured that you only get the best quality. After ordring a basket with rolls is served with butter and the most gorgeous apple "marmelade" (not the right description but it'll do). This delight can be bought, so one can luxuriate at home in sweet memories of the brakfast one enjoyed at Benedict :) And here I've added some pictures of Benedict's delights :) I am very sure you'll get hungry :) #gallery-4 { margin: auto;
