Day 1: from Marmaris to Ekincik

Let’s begin our tour with a destination not far from Marmaris but very popular for its beauty. Once in the Ekincik bay, we drop anchor and dedicate the day to the beauties that the nature of this place offers us, such as its clear sea and green hills.

Day 2: from Ekincik to Dalyan

The Dalyan River flows through the city of Dalyan which is located in the southwestern region of Turkey and flows into the Aegean Sea. Here it is possible to organize boat tours that go up the river and take visitors to see this area’s ancient archaeological sites. One of the main tourist attractions is the facades of the Lycian tombs located above the sheer cliffs of the river and carved around 400 BC. The ruins of the ancient trading city of Kaunos can also be visited within a short distance. Nearby are the renowned Sultaniye hot springs with hot water gushing from the ground and therapeutic mud baths.

Day 3: from Dalyan to Sarigerme

Located on the southwestern coast, Sarigerme offers a relaxed atmosphere that only a small village can offer.

Its 7km lush sandy beach is part of a large national park, but you can still visit it and spend the day snorkeling or kite surfing.

If, on the other hand, you like a bit of history and culture, there are some noteworthy archaeological sites close to this area. One of these is the Roman ruins located right next to the beach, witnesses of an ancient city known as Pisilis which today is largely buried in the sand.

Day 4: from Sarigerme to Gemiler Island

Also known as St. Nicholas Island, Gemiler is located south of the city of Fethiye.

In addition to its wonderful natural landscape, this island is renowned for its wealth of Byzantine ruins dating back to more than 1,500 years ago. Gemiler Island was once one of Christendom’s most popular pilgrimage points due to the still visible St. Nicholas tomb.

Today chaos of chaotic ruins covers much of the island, including the remains of four churches, Byzantine houses, a port, waterways, tombs, and cemeteries. The still standing fragments of the St. Nicholas tomb reveal faint traces of frescoes depicting scenes from his life but they are unfortunately slowly deteriorating.

Gemiler island has many rocky bays that offer safe moorings for yachts while snorkeling enthusiasts should take a dip in the hunt for the submerged ruins just below the sea surface.

Day 5: from Gemiler Island to Ölüdeniz

With its sheltered (and environmentally protected) lagoon alongside a lush national park, a long promontory with sandy beaches, and Baba Dağ (Mount Baba) casting its shadow over the sea, Ölüdeniz, some 15km south of Fethiye, is every tourist’s dream come true.

The Ölüdeniz park is a must, a stretch of sea known throughout the world as a “blue paradise” and one of the most important Turkish tourist sites.

Day 6: from Ölüdeniz to Göcek

According to a legend, Göcek is located where Icarus fell into the sea after pretending to fly too close to the sun. In reality, Göcek, like many other Turkish towns on the coast, in the past was just a small fishing village that gradually opened up to tourism and today is a modern tourist port with excellent restaurants and bars where you can taste some typical Turkish dishes. After so many days at sea, it seems right to give ourselves a day walking around the streets of this city, without, however, overshadowing its tourist facilities such as equipped beaches and well-served marinas.

  Day 7: from Göcek back to Marmaris

We end our tour by sailing in peace to Marmaris. Here we await the final greetings with the crew before departure.

Ok, ich war schon seit 10 Jahren  mehrmals allein in Westeuropa (Deutschland, Italien, Frankreich und Spanien) unterwegs, 2006 dann zum ersten Mal im ehemaligen Osten, quasi der östlichen Adriaküste entlang nach Dubrovnik aber nun sollte eine ganz neue Herausforderung auf mich warten. Ohne mich wirklich in einer slawischen Sprache, geschweige denn mit Türkisch verständigen zu können, sollte es nach Kapadokien in der Türkei gehen. Aber manchmal kommt es anders…..

Nachdem ich am selben Tag zwei Mal von der Polizei geblitzt und angehalten wurde, beim 2. Mal wurde ich notabene von einem Auto überholt, welches vorbei gewunken wurde. Mir aber wurde eine Busse von 120€!! aufgebrummt. Dies führte zum Entscheid die Türkei baldmöglichst wieder zu verlassen, die Vorstellung mit 70km/h auf Landstrassen am Fahrbahnrand bis Kapadokien dahinzutuckern gefiel mir nun wirklich nicht. Schade, mir hatten das Land und vor allem die Leute sehr gut gefallen!!!

empfehlenswert ist die Strecke übers Gebirge zwischen Antalya und Kumluca und dann wieder einmal die gut ausgebaute Küstenstrasse bis Kash. Meine Route entlang der Küste nach Fethiye führte erst über eine kleine Gebirgsstrasse nach Karaagac und dann über eine Geröllpiste zurück ans Meer, sehr schwer zu fahren. Fethiye ist relativ gross, wobei der Stadtteil mit dem Yachthafen überschaubar ist, ich habe dort sogar Meeresschildkröten im Hafen tummeln gesehen. Die vorgelagerten Inseln bieten Badespass pur.

  26.Tag: Tagesausflug nach Saklikent

ein Besuch der Schlucht von Saklikent lohnt sich unbedingt, wasserfest anziehen ist aber ein MUSS, man watet durch zum Teil hüfttiefes Wasser hinein in den Canyon. Für Historiker lohnt sich der Besuch der Ruinen von Tlos. Die Halbinsel bei Fethiye bietet dutzende kleiner Buchten mit Bademöglichkeit.

Wieder einmal eine wunderschöne Küstenstrasse von Akyaka Richtung Oeren bis sie von der Küste wegführt, dann sehr schlechte Strasse. Die Fähre nach Kos ist eigentlich keine Fähre aber Motorräder passen da drauf, allerdings kostet die Fahrt in diese Richtung etwa 4mal soviel wie ein Ausflug ab Kos. Bodrum ist sehr touristisch und wird gerne auch von den Reichen aus Istanbul besucht, dementsprechend sind die Preise eher europäisch als türkisch.

Die Nordseite des Kolpos Korinthos (Meer zwischen Patra und Korinth) gibt sehr viel mehr her als die Südseite. Zwischen Dafni und Aghios Nikolaos Kurven bis zum Abwinken, Durchschnitt-km/h etwa 35. Ab Kremesta Sykias nicht asphaltiert und hat keine Ausschilderung.

auf der ganzen Route muss sehr auf die Strasse geachtet werden, von der Haupstrasse Igoumenitsa-Ioannina zur albanischen Grenze sehr viel Steinschlag, auf der albanischen Seite besser die Küstenstrasse über Sarande und Vlore nehmen, allerdings verpasst man dann Gjirokaster, ein weiterer Ort des UNESCO Weltkulturerbes. Der Hafen von Durres ist sehr dreckig und düster, am Stadtstrand bringt mich keiner ins Wasser und trotzdem habe ich dort eine angenehme Nacht verbracht in einem guten Hotel bei der Strandpromenade.

eine Etappe mit viel gut ausgebauter Küstenstrasse, gut für Kilometerfresser, vor allem bei Regen. Ich bevorzuge den Grenzübergang zwischen Ulcinj und Shkoder. Makarska ist zwar sehr touristisch aber hat eine bezaubernde Altstadt, viele Restaurants, Strände und mit dem Sveti Jure auch ein Wander- und Bikerparadies im Rücken.
