MCU Timeline: Iron Man 2. Part 2
Part 1
2010
May 11, night - Stark Expo opening. Blood toxicity - 19%.
May 12, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm - Tony at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
May 13, evening:
Tony is back home and has a video conference in 4 hours. Blood toxicity - 24%. 362 days of Expo left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tony (unofficially for now) appoints Pepper as CEO of SI.
May 14 - Tony officially transfers the management of the company to Pepper.
Tumblr media
Note: confirmation of 2010 from S.H.I.E.L.D. dossier. The Avengers (deleted scene).
Between May 14 and May 23 - Tony hires Natasha as his new PA.
May 23 - Tony in Monaco. Vanko attacks him on the race track. Blood toxicity - 53%.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BAMF achievement: are you talking about Afghanistan, Tony?
May 24, 7:32 am PT - Tony and Pepper are on the Stark Jet flying home from Monaco. Three hours into the flight, Stern is interviewed by MSNBC.
Tumblr media
May 25:
Hammer arranges Vanko's escape and brings him to his place. Ivan begins work on drones, his reactor 2.0 and a suit.
Night - Tony searches for information about Vanko after he was declared dead.
Tumblr media
Another f*ck up in dates - the screens say 05.06.10. For that to be true, we'd have to move Tony's birthday and change the Expo countdown.
May 29 (Saturday):
Tony's birthday. Blood toxicity - 89%.
10 pm - party.
Tumblr media
Rhodey steals Mark II and fights Tony, then flies away.
May 30:
Morning - after ~10 hours of doing something somewhere Rhodes finally brings Mark II to Edwards Air Force Base.
Tumblr media
Tony eats donuts in a donut. Fury and Natasha give him a pep talk and lithium dioxide.
Hammer brings Ivan not his bird and notices that he makes drones, not suits.
USAF calls in Hammer to outfit stolen Mark II with his weapons.
Afternoon - Fury tells Tony that Howard was the founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. and gives him a chest of Howard's things.
Tumblr media
Evening - Hammer gets his hands on Mark II and turns it into "War Machine".
Tony looks through his father's notes and receives his message recorded in 1973.
May 31:
Morning - Tony goes to apologize to Pepper and finds the "Key to the Future".
Tumblr media
Afternoon - Tony (re)discovers a new element and orders components for a particle accelerator. Meanwhile, he drills more holes into his house, eventually turning it into a piece of Swiss cheese.
June 1:
343 days of Stark Expo left.
Morning - Tony builds his particle accelerator. Coulson is reassigned to New Mexico.
Tumblr media
Note: As we've established in Thor's timeline, its events take place in November 2011. Not May/June 2010. I could do some logical gymnastics and stretch it to 2010 (which would already create a mess), but there's no way it could be in May/June.
Afternoon - Tony finishes the particle accelerator and synthesizes the new element at home.
Tumblr media
Note: mention of 2010 again.
Evening - Vanko finishes his suit and the drones.
Tumblr media
6:20 pm - Vanko calls Tony. Tony heads to New York in the new Mark VI.
Tumblr media
40 minutes is most probably an exaggeration, since it is unlikely that Tony could get from Malibu to Flushing in less than 40 minutes. In any case, Tony didn't have time for anything else, especially considering that he needed time to assemble his new suit.
Tumblr media
7-9 pm - Hammer and Vanko at the Stark Expo. Tony and Rhodey fight Vanko and defeat him. He blows himself and the Expo up. Tony saves Pepper and 8-year-old Peter Parker. Pepperony's first kiss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Considering that other things tell us it's been 19 days since Pepper became CEO, Tony's "a week" line is an exaggeration. And Pepper plays along, just like she did with 12% in The Avengers.
I could write a whole post about why it could not be just a week (from Expo opening to the fight) as it's stated in other timelines, but I'll just give you one question to think about: how many days Ivan would need to build all those drones, a new reactor and a suit? Probably not 2.
A week later - Fury gives Tony Natasha's assessment of him and offers him a position as a consultant at S.H.I.E.L.D. Tony accepts.
Tumblr media
Mid June - Senator Stern awards Tony and Rhodey with medals.
The Consultant
Second half of 2010:
The World Security Counsel still supports the Avengers Initiative at this point. But they want The Abomination on the team. Coulson and Sitwell send Tony to sabotage the transfer between General Ross and S.H.I.E.L.D. He succeeds, and Blonsky remains in prison.
Tumblr media
After that, the WSC loses interest in the Avengers Initiative.

Warnings: curse words, blood, mentions of death, bullets + missiles, other weaponry, electric shocks, death threats, hospitals, IVs, explosions, fire, etc.
Word Count: 4696
May 12, 2010, Flushing New York, USA
“You ready, kid?”
“Yep. Find Pepper and Natasha while you land, keep an eye on them, lay low.” I repeated the plan.
“Atta girl.”
I snorted. It sounded demeaning, but I knew Tony didn’t mean it the way it was meant for a dog. I was in the suit, ready to help Tony fight, as a girl. Since I had found out about the palladium poisoning, I had stayed a girl for the most part. I felt vulnerable, and I had let myself stay that way. And Tony knew.
“Alright, show time.”
We approached the Expo, and Tony made a beeline for the stage. Eyes stayed on him as I circled over the audience. JARVIS beeped as he found Pepper and Natasha, putting their seat numbers on the top corner of my screen. I made my way up to the rafters, settling in the connection of two beams.
“JARVIS, power-saving mode.” I whispered as Tony landed.
The audience went crazy, and I could see the disgust on Hammer’s face from here. My reactor went dim, my repulsors turned off, and the suit finally stopped whirring. My connection to Tony was still open, and if I had wanted to, I could pull up information on anybody in the audience.
“We got trouble.” Tony walked toward the center of the stage.
Mark II, blinged out and armed to the max. I snorted. Did they really believe the old suit could handle that much?
“Is that Rhodey?” I whispered.
Tony hummed as Rhodey spoke to him, something about civilians and orders, and not right now. Tony joined him at his side.
“Give them a wave, come on.” Tony waved at the audience, who was still screaming.
“Hey, alright! Yeah!” Hammer took control of the situation back.
“All these people are in danger, we’ve gotta get them out of here.” Tony waved again. “You’ve gotta trust me for the next five minutes.”
Rhodey waved weakly, and Tony leaned in so I could hear Rhodey through his microphone.
“Yeah, I tried that. I got tossed around your house, remember?”
“Listen.” Tony hissed. “We think he’s working with Vanko.”
“Vanko’s alive?” I watched Rhodey’s head turn as Tony started walking toward Hammer.
“JARVIS, can you get me a connection with Rhodey?”
JARVIS fell silent as he hacked through Hammer’s firewall on the Mark II suit. Tony reached Hammer, head held high.
“Where is he?”
“What?” Hamer turned around.
“Where’s Vanko?”
“Who?”
“Tell me.” Tony pressed.
“You now have a connection with the Mark II suit. I have to warn you, Miss Barnes, I’m not sure how secure it is.”
“Doesn’t matter, thanks JARVIS. Hey, Rhodey?”
I watched as he looked around the stage, head swiveling.
“It’s Logan. I came with Tony, just staying out of sight.”
“Logan, what’s going on?”
“Hammer’s working with Vanko. We’ve gotta get these people out of here, ASAP.”
“What are you doing here, man?” Hammer scoffed.
I went to pinch the bridge of my nose, but all I got was my suit against my face. I sighed, and Rhodey gasped.
“Rhodey?”
“Whoa-”
The connection cut. “Shit. JARVIS?”
“Somebody’s hacked his suit, Miss Barnes.”
“Yeah, us.” I kept my eyes on Rhodey.
The machine gun at his shoulder went up, and Tony was at alert. “Is that you?”
“No, I-I’m not doing that, that’s not me.” Rhodey was frantic.
“Dad?” I called, ready to take off.
“Lay low, kid.”
Rhodey began to shout. He was locked up. Hammer’s army of drones powered to life, arms going up.
“Dad.” I urged.
“Get Pepper out of here.”
“Go, the whole system’s been compromised!” Rhodey cried.
“Let’s take it outside.” Tony flipped off the stage and went up.
My suit whirred, and I put my arm up just in time to avoid a bullet to the helmet. Hammer’s drones were firing at Tony. I cursed to myself as I maneuvered off the rafter, diving down into the crowd. The air wasn’t safe right now, I couldn’t just pluck Pepper and fly her off.
“JARVIS, where is she?” I barked.
The screen beeped, trying to find her in the mess of people. Rhodey’s suit took off after Tony, and I could hear his shouts as half the drones followed.
“JARVIS, break in, I need to own him!” Tony hissed.
“Yes, sir.”
I could hear Tony’s suits taking shots, and I grimaced. People shoved past me, screaming as they ran. I looked around, but Pepper and Natasha were nowhere to be found. I took a deep breath, hoping Happy was with them.
“JARVIS-”
I was interrupted by a screech that made my blood freeze. The drones left on the stage were now moving.
“Miss Barnes?”
“Stop looking for Pepper. We have to keep everyone safe now.” I took off, heading straight for the heaviest-armed drone I spotted.
It engaged, meeting me in the air. I huffed, breaths shaky. It made the first move, heading for me as shots fired. They dented the suit as they bounced off. I let it come closer, lungs tightening.
“Come on, fucker.” I hissed, waiting.
The drone came for my arc reactor, missile arm out. I grabbed it and pulled, momentum pulling it down to the floor. I anchored my feet against the chest of the suit and took off, hands locked on the arm. It tore off the drone, and I barked at JARVIS to disarm it as I dove.
“You’re mine, bitch.” I growled as the drone raised its other arm.
I landed over it before it could shoot. I smacked its arm aside and grabbed it by the head, twisting. I grunted as I yanked the head off, leaving the machine fizzling as it died. I grinned and turned, seeing the rest of the drones with their attention on me.
“JARVIS, turn on external speakers.”
“Yes, Miss Barnes.”
I held its head up and began to sway back and forth. “That’s right, motherfuckers. I killed your brother.” I sang. “Come and get me.”
I took off into the air, and my screen beeped.
“Whatcha got for me, JARVIS?”
“Miss Potts has been located.”
“That’s not helpful right now.” I glanced over my shoulders to see the drones gaining on me. “Is she safe?”
“She’s on the phone with the NYPD.”
I huffed. “Good enough for me. Dad!”
“I can’t get his suit, Logan.” Tony hissed.
I heard screams from below, and I looked down to see explosions. I looked over my shoulder again. Only a quarter of the drones were following me now. I cursed to myself.
“Dad, what do we do?”
“Is Pepper safe?”
“As safe as she’s gonna get, Dad. What do we do?” I pressed.
“Just gimme a sec, kiddo.”
We evaded shot after shot. I groaned as an idea popped into my head. Tony noticed, grunting.
“What is it?”
“Just trust me.” I hummed as I cut the thrusters.
A drone flew under, and I landed. The others began to shoot, targeting me. I closed my eyes and counted. Tony screamed in my ears. I powered back to life and jumped off just in time. The drone exploded, and the rubble took down a second one. My armor took a shot to the shoulder, and I grimaced. My skin felt like it was burning, and the soreness spread.
Tony bounced between the air and the floor, protecting people and taking out all the drones he could. One was targeting a kid with an Iron Man mask on. He took it out and thanked the kid before coming back up into the air.
“Alright, we gotta get this away from the Expo.”
“Loud and clear.” I responded as I followed his lead.
He led us through a parking structure, and car alarms began to blare. One drone crashed into a support beam, and my stomach began to knot. Tony was silent, and I swallowed hard. Whatever his plan was, I needed to trust it.
Cars exploded as we dodged the shots coming from Rhodey’s suits. Tony groaned as we flew through the air.
“Kid, listen, a pack just went back to the Expo.”
“Got it. Be safe!” I peeled off, heading back.
I shut my eyes and aimed for the river by the parking garage, diving. Alarms blared in my ears, and JARVIS began to shout at me.
“Miss Barnes-”
“Just trust me!” I hissed as we broke into the water.
My repulsors malfunctioned, and the drones fell in with crashes. Their weight was enough to pull them down, and they didn’t have the power to get back up. I smacked the reactor in my chest, but to no avail. I sighed.
“JARVIS, how long for the reactor to dry off?” I started to swim for it.
“Fifteen minutes minimum.”
“Cool. Kill it.” I broke into the air. “My turn.”
My shoulder throbbed as I took off into the air. My chest burned, and the line rang. I groaned, shaking the water off of the helmet.
“Dad?”
“Expo, now! I’ve got a plan!”
I put it into overdrive as I flew over the freeways, no longer being tailed. The fires started three blocks down, buildings collapsed and cars on their sides all over. I watched as drones fell into the water, trying to follow Tony through the fountains. More took off, leaving the sidewalk and coming after us both. I watched from behind as Tony flew through the metal globe, bouncing around and popping out from beside the North Pole. The drones didn’t have the same ability, as they crashed into the other continents and exploded.
“Nice!” I grinned.
One drone was left, and I followed Tony’s technique, bouncing off South America and coming out the side. The drone took out the Falkland Islands and crashed to the ground, in flames. I chuckled before taking off after Tony and Rhodey.
“Sorry, buddy. Had to thin out the herd. What’s your twenty?”
There was no response from Rhodey, and I watched as he t-boned Tony, sending them crashing into the woods. I groaned. The golf-course we had crashed in had been built around three miles of area, most of it shrubbery. That meant we only had three miles to eradicate the drones before they spread back out into the city.
“Dad!”
He was sprawled in a creek, and Rhodey was getting to his feet.
“Miss Barnes, the arc reactor is ready.”
“Perfect timing. Kick it!”
I aimed for Rhodey and tackled him, sending us tumbling over Tony’s suit. Rhodey reared back and kicked, pushing me off and onto my back. I groaned, shoulder aching. Rhodey straddled my suit, one hand keeping me down as the machine gun shoulders deployed.
I struggled, but I was in no condition to worm my way out of this one. I took a breath, watching as Rhodey’s gun came an inch from my face. After ten shots, the faceplate would be gone, and I would be dead.
“Logan!”
I heard Tony’s voice as he came behind Rhodey, pulling him into a chokehold. I dodged the shots that fired before getting to my feet. I peered at Tony over Rhodey’s shoulder, forcing his arms out and the bullets away from us.
“Ready?” I asked.
He sighed. “Ready.”
We fired our repulsors, and two feet off the ground, Rhodey’s suit went dead. It fell from our hands, and the overcompensation of the repulsors sent us flying.
“JARVIS, cut the power!” Tony shouted as we came to the verge of spiraling out of control.
We landed on our feet in the creek. The external line rang, and Tony answered with a huff.
“Reboot complete. You’ve got your best friend back.”
I grinned. Natasha had gotten it done.
“Thank you very much, Agent Romanoff.” Tony tried to catch his breath.
“Well done with the new chest piece, I’m reading significantly higher output and your vitals all look promising.”
I rolled my eyes as I heard Tony’s scoff.
“Yes, for the moment, I’m not dying. Thank you.”
“What do you mean you’re not dying? Did she say you were dying?” I heard Pepper’s voice on another line.
I whistled, looking at Tony. He and Pepper began to argue, and a video feed of Natasha popped up onto my screen. She looked back and forth, eyebrows furrowed.
“I was going to make you an omelet and tell you!” Tony scowled.
“Hey, hey, save it for the honeymoon.” Natasha cut him off before he could start another sentence. “You two have incoming.”
“Incoming?” I looked at Tony again. “I thought we took them all out.”
“No.” Natasha shook her head. “Looks like the fight’s coming to you.”
“Okay.” Tony sighed. “Pepper?”
“Are you okay now?” She pressed.
“I am fine. Don’t be mad, I will formally apologize-”
“I am mad!”
“When I am not fending off a Hammeroid attack.”
I bursted into laughter, and I heard Pepper sigh. They continued to bicker as I knelt by Rhodey, tapping a finger on his helmet.
“Rhodes?” I looked up. “Come on, man, we need you.”
“They’re coming, let’s roll.” Tony’s suit whirred.
Rhodey’s helmet opened, and he let out a huff. “You can have your suit back.”
Tony chuckled as we pulled Rhodey to his feet. “You okay?” Tony lifted his faceplate.
“Yeah. Thanks.” Rhodey sighed. “Tony, look. I’m sorry, okay?”
“Don’t be.” Tony shook his head.
“No, I should’ve trusted you more.”
“I’m the one who put you in this position, forget it.”
“No, it’s your fault.” Rhodey waved a hand. “I just wanted to say I’m sorry.”
“Thank you.” Tony grinned. “That’s all I wanted to hear. Partner.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m right here. Look, these fuckers are coming any second. What’s the play?”
“Well we want the high ground, so let’s put the biggest gun up on that bridge.” Rhodey pointed.
“Gotcha. Where do you wanna be?” Tony began to walk off.
“What’re you talking about? I meant me.”
“No, you have a big gun, you are not the big gun.” Tony scoffed.
“Tony, don’t be jealous.”
“No, it’s subtle, all the bells and whistles.”
“Yeah, it’s called being a badass.” Rhodey retorted.
“Fine.” Tony scoffed, rolling his eyes.
I popped my faceplate and stood in front of them, rolling my eyes once more.
“Look, you go up top, Tony and I’ll draw them in.” I pointed.
“Well you two can’t stay down here, that’s the worst place to be.”
“Okay, you’ve got a spot. Where’s ours?” Tony groaned.
I looked up to see the drone’s lights. I put my helmet back into place.
“This is the kill box, this is where you go to die!” Rhodey began to argue back.
“Hey morons!” I fired up my repulsors. “Let’s rock.”
The drones landed all around us, enclosing us in a circle. The three of us formed a triangle, backs to each other. The drones stepped forward and began to fire, and we shot back. One stepped forward for Tony, who took it down single-handedly.
Rhodey shot another, splitting it down the middle. I took a missile to the shoulder, flying back into the dirt. Alarms beeped in my ears as I scrambled to stand. I grabbed the missile off the ground and chucked it as far as I could. A swing came at my head, and I latched onto the arm as it missed, pulling it up into the air with me. I did the same thing I had done at the Expo, ripping its arm off. This time, I used it to beat its own head in. Tony fired three mini-missiles, ripping his targeted drones to shreds.
“See that?” He teased.
“Yeah yeah, nice.” Rhodey was annoyed.
I kicked another drone’s head in, watching as more landed. “What the fuck?” I groaned.
“Rhodey? Logan. Get down!” Tony ordered.
I grabbed Rhodey by the shoulder before he could protest, pulling us down to Tony’s knee-level. Tony punched his fists together and spun in a circle, lasers cutting down everything within a mile radius. Trees crashed, and the rest of the drones dropped, dead.
“I think you should lead with that next time.”
“Yeah. Sorry, boss, I can only use it once. It’s a one-off.”
“Think there’s any more?” Rhodey and I got to our feet.
I huffed, grabbing my shoulder through my armor. “God, I sure hope not.”
The line rang, and Tony answered.
“Heads up, you’ve got one more drone incoming.” Natasha warned. “This one looks different. The repulsor signature is significantly higher.”
The drone landed five yards from us, head down. I groaned. A suit, not a drone. It stood and the helmet rose to reveal Vanko.
“Good to be back.” He grinned.
“Oh, this ain’t gonna be good.” Rhodey whined.
Vanko pushed his arms out, and electrified whips ten times the strength of the first ones came from his wrists. I shuffled backwards, now by Tony’s side.
“I got something special for this guy.” Rhodey spoke. “I’m gonna bust his bunker with the Ex-Wife.” He stepped forward.
Tony and I shared a look through our helmets before looking at him. “With the what?”
His suit whirred, and a tiny missile powered up from his shoulder. It flew at Vanko, bounced off his suit, and fizzled in the water. I groaned.
“Hammer tech?”
Rhodey only sighed.
“I got this.” Tony’s own shoulder-missiles took off, but Vanko put his helmet on back in time.
He stepped toward us, cracking the whips. Each time they moved, they seemed to get stronger. He cracked them between us. Tony backwards, Rhodey off to his right, and me off to his left. We landed on our feet, firing at him. Rhodey’s bullets did nothing, and Vanko’s whip popped one of his shoulder-weapons off. I shot into the air, but Vanko’s whips wrapped around my torso, throwing me back against a boulder. I landed with a grunt as Tony fired at him. Again, the repulsors did nothing, and Rhodey fired with the weaponry he had left. I got to my feet and ran at Vanko. He caught me, sending me flying over his shoulder.
I landed in a tree, and Tony flew around him to come to my side. Vanko hit Rhodey down. I latched my hands together, and Tony wedged his foot in, flying at Vanko with a roar. He hit him in the head, distracting Vanko enough for Tony to get a few punches in. I followed after him, but Vanko reared his head back. I crashed back to the ground as Vanko wrapped a whip around Tony’s neck, dragging him along as he stepped toward Rhodey.
Rhodey kept firing, but Vanko stepped on his middle, boot of armor tightening. Rhodey groaned, and Vanko removed his helmet. I got to my feet, ready to take the chance. Tony yanked back on the whip around his neck. Vanko tugged tighter, grabbing Rhodey by the neck and pulling him to his feet. I caught Tony’s eye as I ran, trying to make it to the bridge. I pointed at Vanko, whose head was still exposed.
“Rhodes, I got an idea! You wanna be a hero?”
“What?”
“Put your hand up!”
“This is your idea?” Rhodey scoffed.
They put their hands up, as they had during the fight at Tony’s party. They shouted to each other, both ready to fire. The repulsors fired, and I watched as Vanko tried to undo the whips, but to no avail.
“Go!” I shouted to them as I took off from the bridge.
The repulsors exploded against each other, and I latched onto Vanko’s back, pushing him face-first into the ground. Tony and Rhodey flew backwards, and I got up, breathing heavily. Vanko’s suit was busted, reactor light dimming. His helmet opened, and I grabbed him by the hair, tugging him forward to lean against a rock. He looked at me through bloody eyes. I straddled him, pulling my arm up to beat his jaw in.
“You lose.” He spoke weakly, a grin on his face.
His reactor began to beep from beneath me, joined by the dozens of others from drones we had beaten.
“Dad!” I shouted, hearing their suits whir as they got to their feet. “They’re rigged to blow, we’ve gotta move.”
I stood from my spot over Vanko and scoffed. I kicked him in the face, and Tony grabbed me by the scruff, pulling me into the air with him. I fired my own repulsors as we took off, Tony frantically calling Pepper. He took off ahead of us, headed for the Expo.
“Dad?” I called.
“I’ve got her!”
The connection cut out, and I cursed, powering ahead. “JARVIS, where is he?”
I spotted Tony’s reactor light before JARVIS could answer. He was pulling Pepper into a kiss on a rooftop. I grinned, slowly landing behind Tony. Rhodey joined, and we crept to lean against the edge of the building.
“Weird.” Tony hummed.
“No, it isn’t weird.” Pepper smiled at him.
“It’s okay, right?”
She nodded at him, and he pulled her back into a kiss.
“I think it’s a little weird.” I spoke with a grin on my face.
“You guys look like two seals fighting over a grape.” Rhodey joined in.
“I had just quit, actually, so I was just-” Pepper scrambled to explain.
“You don’t have to do that.” Rhodey shook his head.
“We heard the whole thing.”
“You two should get lost.” Tony pointed at us.
“You two should get a roof.” Rhodey shot back.
“I thought you were out of one-liners.”
“Yeah, that’s the last one.” Rhodey sighed.
“You kicked ass out there, by the way.”
“Thanks, you too.” Rhodey got to his feet. “Listen, my car got taken out in the explosion, so I’m gonna have to hang on to your suit for a minute, okay?”
Tony shook his head. “Not okay. Not okay with that.”
“It wasn’t a question.” Rhodey’s faceplate dropped and he took off.
I waved the smoke away from my face and joined Pepper and Tony, leaning against him with a huff. “So you’re quitting?”
She chuckled, brushing a strand of stray hair behind my ear.
May 18, 2010, Undisclosed SHIELD Location
I cracked my knuckles as I paced. SHIELD had grabbed us and dropped us here, where we were supposed to meet with Fury. Tony swiped a file off the desk and went to open it, but Fury’s hand came down on it.
“I don’t think I want you looking at that. Logan, take a seat.”
I sighed as I sat down next to Tony.
“Not sure it pertains to you anymore.” Fury picked up a second file. “Now this, on the other hand, is Agent Romanoff’s assessment of you.” He handed it over. “Read it.”
Tony flipped it open and groaned. “Personality overview. Mr. Stark displays compulsive behavior.” He looked up at Fury. “In my own defense, that was last week.”
Fury said nothing, and Tony turned back to the papers.
“Prone to self-destructive tendencies. I was dying.” Tony shrugged. “I mean, please. And aren’t we all?”
Fury still remained unimpressed, and Tony continued to read.
“Textbook… narcissism? Agreed. Okay, here it is. Recruitment assessment for Avenger Initiative. Logan Barnes-Stark? Yes. Iron Man? Yes.” He put the file down. “We gotta think about it.”
Fury shook his head. “Keep reading.”
I took the file from Tony and flipped it back open. “Tony Stark not recommended.” I scoffed.
“That doesn’t make any sense.” Tony frowned. “How can you approve me but not approve me? I got a new ticker, I-I’m trying to do right by Pepper. I mean, hell, Logan’s gonna go to school.”
“Excuse me?” I snapped, turning to look at him.
Fury sighed. “We’d only like to use you as a consultant.”
Tony thought about it, stood, and held his hand out. Fury shook it and Tony gave him a smile as he cupped his hand over theirs.
“You can’t afford me.”
He waved at me over his shoulder as he began to walk off, and I got up from the table with a scowl. Tony turned on his heel, back-tracking.
“Then again, I will waive my customary retainer in exchange for a small favor. Rhodey, Logan, and I are being honored in Washington and we need a presenter.” Tony grinned.
Fury nodded. “I’ll see what I can do.”
“You are not sending me to school.” I hissed. “Right?”
“Sorry, bug. Non-negotiable.”
May 20, 2010
“It is my honor to be here today to present these distinguished awards to Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes, Mr. Tony Stark, and Mr. Logan Barnes-Stark.” Senator Stern stood at the podium, speaking through a pained smile. “Of course, those two are national treasures.”
He made his way to us, pinning the awards on our suit jackets. He did Rhodey first, pinning it gently.
“Thank you, Lieutenant Colonel, for such an exceptionally distinguished performance. You deserve this.”
“Thank you, sir.” Rhodey didn’t waver from his spot.
“Thank you, Mr. Stark, for such an exceptionally distinguished performance. You deserve this.” Stern dug the pin into Tony’s skin and muttered an apology. “Funny how annoying a little prick can be, isn’t it?”
He turned to me, and I held my hand out. “I’ll do it myself, thanks.”
I stuck the pin onto my jacket, shuffling over to Tony’s side as the press began to swarm us for pictures. He grinned, satisfied with Senator Stern’s discomfort.
“I’ve got news, kid.” Tony leaned in.
“What’s up?”
“I got you into a school in New York. If you wanna go, the spot’s yours.”
“Dad…” I kept my smile for the photos, looking at him out of the corner of my eye.
“I just… we always talk about how you never finished, and you’re a smart kid, and I figured you should at least have the option.”
I broke the pose and wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me and patted my back with a chuckle.
“Thank you, Dad.”
June 1, 2010, Queens, New York, USA
“Well?” Tony spoke from the other end.
I sighed as I looked up at the building, bag slung over my shoulder. “It’s big.”
“Scared?”
I sighed again. “Nervous. Wish you were here.”
I heard him chuckle, and I looked down at the screen to see him grinning, arm around Pepper. Her eyes were shut and her head was nestled against his neck. I smiled, happy for them. It had taken them long enough.
“I should get going, Dad. I don’t wanna be late.”
He chuckled again. “You’re such a dork.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’ll call you once I get back to the apartment?”
He nodded. “Sounds good to me, kiddo. Be safe.”
“Love you.”
“I love you too, now go.” He whispered.
I took a deep breath as I hung up, sliding my phone into my pocket. I tightened the blue bracelet on my wrist and began to walk up the stairs. A girl rushed beside me, her shoe catching on one of the steps. On instinct, I reached out and caught her arm before she could hit the ground face-first.
“You okay?” I asked, pulling her back onto her feet.
“Thank you.” She blushed. “God, that is so embarrassing.”
I chuckled as I bent over, helping her pick up her books. “It’s alright, I fall down the stairs all the time.”
I handed her pile of books back as we straightened out, and she cocked her head. She was pretty, loose brown waves cascading over her shoulders. Her eyes were the color of beans, and her lips were pink and plump. She broke into a grin as she pushed her circle-rimmed glasses up.
“You’re Logan Barnes-Stark, aren’t you? Iron Man’s kid.”
I chuckled. “You caught me.” I held my hand out. “And you are?”
“Magnolia Ortega.” She shook my hand. “Could I walk you to class?”
I took my hand back and readjusted my bag. “I’d like that.”
“Come on, then.” She started up the stairs, eyeing me over her shoulder.
I couldn’t help the idiotic smile spreading over my face. Maybe New York wouldn’t be so bad. I cleared my throat and skipped over the steps, trying to catch up to her.

Bio for Hero Verse:
Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark was born on May 29, 1975, in Manhattan, New York to Howard Stark, a famous genius inventor and businessman, and Maria Stark, a New York socialite and philanthropist. Growing up under the eye of family butler Edwin Jarvis, his life was characterized by a cold and affectionless relationship with his father. Seeing that his son could achieve great things, Howard tried to inspire him with constant talks about his own role in the creation of Captain America.
This instead embittered Stark, who felt that his father was taking more pride in his creations than in his family. A brilliant and unique child prodigy, Stark attended MIT for two years starting at age 14, graduating at the age of 16.On December 16, 1995, when Stark was 20, his parents went away to the Bahamas, but planned to stop at the Pentagon to deliver Super Soldier Serum he had redeveloped.
On their way there, both were killed in a car accident—later revealed to be an assassination carried out by the Winter Soldier who was mind controlled by Hydra to steal the serum. As a result, Stark inherited his father's company, becoming CEO of Stark Industries. Over the years, he became well known as a weapons designer and inventor.
In 2010, Stark travels to war-torn Afghanistan with his friend and military liaison Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes to demonstrate Stark's new "Jericho" missile. After the demonstration, the convoy is ambushed and Stark is critically wounded and imprisoned by a terrorist group, the Ten Rings. Fellow captive Ho Yinsen, a doctor, implants an electromagnet into Stark's chest to keep shrapnel shards from reaching his heart and killing him.
Stark and Yinsen secretly build a small, powerful electric generator called an arc reactor to power Stark's electromagnet and a suit of powered armor. When the Ten Rings attack the workshop, Yinsen sacrifices himself to divert them while the suit is completed. The armored Stark battles his way out of the cave to find the dying Yinsen, then burns the Ten Rings' weapons in anger and flies away, crashing in the desert. Rescued by Rhodes, Stark returns home to announce that his company will no longer manufacture weapons. In his home workshop, Stark builds a sleeker, more powerful version of his improvised armor suit as well as a more powerful arc reactor.
Stark learns that Obadiah Stane has been arms trafficking to criminals worldwide, and is staging a coup to replace him as Stark Industries' CEO. Stark, in his new armor, flies to Afghanistan and saves the villagers. Stane ambushes Stark at his home and takes the arc reactor from his chest, revealing that Stane was responsible for Stark's captivity. Stark manages to get to his original reactor to replace it and defeats Stane. The next day, at a press conference, Stark publicly admits to being "Iron Man."
Six months later in 2011, Stark has become a superstar and uses his Iron Man suit for peaceful means, resisting government pressure to sell his designs. He reinstitutes the Stark Expo to continue his father's legacy, but discovers that the palladium core in the arc reactor that keeps Stark alive and powers the armor is slowly poisoning him.
Stark competes in the Monaco Historic Grand Prix and is attacked mid-race by Ivan Vanko, who wields electrified whips powered by a miniature arc reactor. Stark dons his Mark V armor and defeats Vanko, but the suit is severely damaged. At his birthday party, Stark gets drunk while wearing the Mark IV suit. Rhodes dons Stark's Mark II prototype armor and tries to restrain him. The fight ends in a stalemate, so Rhodes confiscates the Mark II for the U.S. Air Force.
Stark discovers a hidden message from his father, a diagram of the structure of a new element, which Stark synthesizes. At the Expo, Stark's rival Justin Hammer unveils Vanko's armored drones he had him make, led by Rhodes in a heavily weaponized version of the Mark II armor. Stark arrives in the Mark VI armor to warn Rhodes, but Vanko remotely takes control of both the drones and Rhodes' armor and attacks Iron Man. Stark and Rhodes together defeat Vanko and his drones.
In 2012, when the Asgardian Loki arrives and begins menacing Earth, seizing the Tesseract from a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, Fury activates the Avengers Initiative and S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson visits Stark to have him review the research of Erik Selvig on the Tesseract. In Stuttgart, Steve Rogers and Loki fight briefly until Tony Stark appears in his Iron Man armor, resulting in Loki's surrender. While Loki is being escorted to S.H.I.E.L.D., Thor arrives and frees him, hoping to convince him to abandon his plan and return to Asgard. After a confrontation with Stark and Rogers, Thor agrees to take Loki to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s flying aircraft carrier, the Helicarrier.
The Avengers become divided, both over how to approach Loki and the revelation that S.H.I.E.L.D. plans to harness the Tesseract to develop weapons. Agents possessed by Loki attack the Helicarrier, disabling one of its engines in flight, which Stark and Rogers must work to restart. Loki escapes, and Stark and Rogers realize that for Loki, simply defeating them will not be enough; he needs to overpower them publicly to validate himself as ruler of Earth. Loki uses the Tesseract to open a wormhole in New York City above the Avengers Tower to allow the Chitauri fleet in space to invade.
Fury's superiors from the World Security Council attempt to end the invasion by launching a nuclear missile at Midtown Manhattan. Stark intercepts the missile, and in an apparent sacrifice of his own life, takes it through the wormhole toward the Chitauri fleet. The missile detonates, destroying the Chitauri mothership and disabling their forces on Earth. Stark's suit runs out of power, and he falls back through the wormhole but the Hulk saves him from crashing into the ground.
Several years later, Stark and the Avengers raid a Hydra facility commanded by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, who has been experimenting on siblings Pietro and Wanda Maximoff using the scepter previously wielded by Loki. While the team fights outside, Stark enters the lab and finds the scepter, along with Chitauri ships from the Battle of New York and androids under construction. Wanda sneaks up behind him and uses her mind manipulation powers to give him a haunting vision: the death of all the Avengers except him. Stark awakens from the vision and grabs Loki's scepter.
Returning to Stark Tower, Stark and Bruce Banner discover an artificial intelligence within the scepter's gem, and secretly decide to use it to complete Stark's "Ultron" global defense program. The unexpectedly sentient Ultron eliminates Stark's A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S. and attacks the Avengers at Stark Tower. Escaping with the scepter, Ultron builds an army of robot drones, kills Strucker and recruits the Maximoffs, who hold Stark responsible for their parents' deaths by his company's weapons. The Avengers find and attack Ultron, but Wanda subdues most of the team with personalized, disturbing visions, causing Banner to transform into the Hulk and rampage until Stark stops him with his anti-Hulk armor.
After hiding at Clint Barton's house, Nick Fury arrives and encourages Stark and the others to form a plan to stop Ultron, who is discovered to have forced the team's friend Dr. Helen Cho to perfect a new body for him. Rogers, Romanoff, and Barton find Ultron and retrieve the synthetic body, but Ultron captures Romanoff. Returning to their headquarters in New York, the Avengers fight amongst themselves when Stark and Banner secretly upload J.A.R.V.I.S.—who is still operational after hiding from Ultron inside the Internet—into the synthetic body. Thor returns to help activate the body, explaining that the gem on its brow was part of his vision.
This "Vision" and the Maximoffs, now on their side, accompany Stark and the Avengers to Sokovia, where Ultron has used the remaining vibranium to build a machine to lift part of the capital city skyward, intending to crash it into the ground to cause global extinction. One of Ultron's drones is able to activate the machine. The city plummets, but Stark and Thor overload the machine and shatter the landmass. The Avengers establish a new base, and Stark leaves the team in the hands of Rogers and Romanoff.
Besides his age this is Where Canon Starts to Diverge:
In 2016, U.S. Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross informs the Avengers that the United Nations (UN) is preparing to pass the Sokovia Accords, which will establish UN oversight of the team. The Avengers are divided: Stark supports oversight because of his role in Ultron's creation and Sokovia's devastation, while Rogers has more faith in his own judgment than that of a government. Circumstances lead to Rogers and fellow super-soldier Bucky Barnes—framed for a terrorist attack—going rogue, along with Sam Wilson, Wanda Maximoff, Clint Barton, and Scott Lang. Stark assembles a team composed of Romanoff, T'Challa, Rhodes, Vision, and Peter Parker to capture the renegades at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
So up until the battle, Tony thinks that the Accords are a good idea except that he doesn’t treat Wanda as bad as she’s treated in the movies.  She will be in Avengers compound but she’s kept there to train and he will try to find someone to help her learn to control her powers.
When they go to Germany, Tony actually listens to Steve but there is still a fight that ensues.  When Rhodey falls from the sky and is injured, Tony calls the entire thing off.  He goes with Steve and Bucky to the compound with the other Super soldiers but when he finds out about what happened, he’s very angry but doesn’t attack Bucky and Steve.  This takes away the rift that is there between the three men.  Tony does help Clint and Sam and although they must stay on the run, Tony supplies them resources and doesn’t let Ross know where they are.
In 2018, Stark and Potts are in a New York City park changes that are going to be made to move the business in another direction when Banner, who had disappeared after the Battle of Sokovia, crash-lands at the Sanctum Sanctorum. Banner relays a warning to Stephen Strange, Wong, and Stark that the mad Titan Thanos plans to use the Infinity Stones to kill half of all life in the universe. Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian arrive to retrieve the Time Stone, prompting Strange, Stark, Wong, and Parker to confront them. Although Cull Obsidian is incapacitated and thrown into Antarctica, Strange is captured by Maw. Stark and Parker sneak aboard Maw's spaceship to rescue him.
After successfully freeing Strange and killing Maw, the trio proceed to Thanos’ home planet Titan, where they meet members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They form a plan to confront Thanos and remove the Infinity Gauntlet, but Thanos overpowers the group and stabs Stark. Strange surrenders the Time Stone in exchange for Thanos sparing Stark. Thanos takes the stone and departs Titan for Earth, retrieves the final stone, and activates the Infinity Gauntlet. Stark and Nebula, stranded on Titan, watch as Parker and others are turned to dust.
For the end battle, Tony will take the gauntet but instead of him dying, his right arm is destroyed and he will use the same nanotech that is hooked to his chest to create an arm for him to use.  Also at the end of the battle, Tony 45 years old will remain as Ironman until he can train someone as his replacement.  Also in the five years of the Blip, Pepper and Tony have a one night stand and she gets pregnant with Morgan. @mhstark3000 .  With this, they are not married and aren’t even dating.  He will be in Morgan’s life though and Pepper and Tony do an amazing job co-parenting, especially once her retires from being Ironman.
During the time of Wanda Vison and TFATWS, he is retired from being an Avenger but will pick it up if he’s needed.  Also he’s been working inventions and his own thing.

Iron Legion (9/?)
Never let it be said that Tony Stark ever does things by half. He might have grown up with little family, but he wasn’t about to keep it that way.
Tony Stark was seventeen when his first child was born, and that was just the beginning.

Girl Fridays, Part 2
The party was over by the time they got back and Rhodey was waiting for them.
“Uncle Rhodey!” Teresa cheered, jumping out of the car.
“Where have you been?”
“Uh oh,” Tony chuckled, coming around to her side. “I think it’s bedtime, Resa. Head upstairs and I’ll come tuck you in.”
She pouted, but left.
“Rhodey -”
“I stuck my neck out for you and you just up and disappear,” the man snapped.
“It was just one party,” Tony scoffed, moving around the car to grab a piece of the model.
“It’s not just the party, you’ve fallen off the face of the Earth. Iron Man needs to be out there.”
“Can’t right now, busy,” he said, eyeing the piece then shrugging. “Dum-E, U, come take care of this.”
The twins gave cheerful whirs and raced over.
“I’m serious,” Rhodey growled, coming to his side and grabbing his arm.
“And I need to go tuck in my kid.” Tony pulled away.
“You head up those stairs, and I’ll take the suits myself.”
“Sure buddy,” he laughed opening the door.
“You think I won’t?”
Tony let the door swing shut behind him.
When he reached the main floor, he took a moment to take in the mess left over from the party.
“Hey Jay, where’d Pepper and Nebula get to?”
“Ms. Potts has returned home for the night. She seemed upset that you left early, but was relieved that you at least did not make a scene. Miss Nebula is in her room with the door locked and is currently on the phone with the cleaning company. She is far more upset and has decided that you will be cleaning up instead.”
Tony rolled his eyes and continued on to the second floor. “Make sure they’re compensated for the change of plans.”
“Miss Nebula is already on it. I should also inform you Colonel Rhodes has just left with the Mark II.”
Tony was slightly shocked that’s all he was leaving with. At the very least, he could have taken the Mark IV. He chuckled at the idea of taking remote control of the suit and dragging his best friend back just to remind Rhodey he could before properly considering the situation.
The world needed the suit and Tony… he didn’t have much longer and he’d rather spend that time with the kids. If anyone could be trusted with the suit, it was Rhodey.
On the other hand, there was the model to consider. If Iron Man was still around in the end…
“Jay, call up legal. Let them know the Air Force is about to get a gift and we need to get a contract together fast. Tell them I’ll be on the phone with them to discuss terms as soon as I’ve finished a quick task.”
“Of course, Sir.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What am I going to do for you? Well, the first thing I’m gonna do for you is I’m gonna upgrade your software -”
“No you won’t,” Rhodey cut in.
“Stark’s conditions,” Major Allen explained. “We get the Mark II, or War Machine as he has designated it, but only so long as he has complete control over software updates and modifications as well as a few physical components.”
“The armor is still Stark Industries property, it’s just on loan to the Air Force,” Rhodey restated. “No pulling it apart to try to reverse engineer it.”
“Then why am I here,” Hammer asked, clearly annoyed no matter how he tried to hide it.
“You’re here to weaponize it. Stark Industries won’t do it due to their no weapons policy.”
“You want firepower, huh? Well, you’re talking to the right guy.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Rhodes has the armor?”
“One of them.”
“What’s Stark doing about it?”
“Nothing. He’s claiming he let Rhodes take it. He said he’s loaning it out to the Air Force as a peace offering despite the fact the general claims they seized the suit. According to Stark, he has measures in place to prevent unauthorized use so it would be impossible for Rhodes to have taken it without his permission and the colonel backed him up. I can’t say for sure if it’s the truth or just him and Rhodes covering his ass.”
“What are they planning to do with the suit?”
“Just weaponize it. There’s not much more they can do with all of Stark’s conditions. He made sure they wouldn’t be able to modify it too much or let anyone other than Rhodes use it. He even ensured the suit would go by a call sign of his own invention.”
“Of course he did. Anyone planning to fight him on it?”
“Stern’s been making his opinion known and the other branches of the military seem just short of calling nepotism, but the contract was signed as is. The Air Force are thrilled enough to have the suit in their ranks that they’ll take anything. Not to mention that Stark’s being firm, either they take his terms or he’ll just recall the suit right out of their hanger. If it’s a bluff, no one’s calling it.”
“Well Stark’s certainly got this all in hand.”
“Agreed. There doesn’t appear to be anyway to step in without showing our hand.”
“Alright. Keep your head down and ears open. We’ve still got something in the works.”
“Yessir.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What did you do?” Nebula asked, taking in the destruction that surrounded the workshop.
“Built a prismatic accelerator,” her father explained. “Where have you been?”
“At the office, doing my job.”
“Sounds boring,” Teresa said, shoving another book under the metal coil Father was holding up. “How’s that?”
He set the coil down then set a level on top. “Perfect!”
Nebula stared at the two before shaking her head. “I don’t want to know. Please don’t blow the house up while I’m gone.”
“Where are you going?” her father asked, finally looking at her and Teresa followed suit.
“Hammer’s giving a presentation tomorrow evening at the Expo. Aunt Pepper wants me to come with her. Giving Uncle Rhodey the Mark II has helped put out some fires, but we need to be there to keep control of the situation. I suppose it would be too much to ask that you come along.”
“How long until wheels up?”
“About an hour,” she answered, glancing at her watch.
“Sorry busy. Besides, who’d stay with Resa? Happy’s going to be there too and I heard Rhodey’s part of the presentation.”
“Uncle Happy can take her around the Expo. She’d love it,” she answered easily already knowing her sister had been hoping to go since it had been announced. “I can act as your bodyguard.”
To her surprise, Teresa objected. “No, we have to finish daddy’s project. The Expo can wait!”
“You heard the girl,” he said, ruffling her hair.
Nebula sighed, but it was the answer she expected to hear. “Try not set anymore fires, literally or figuratively.”
“Will do on the figurative, no promises on the literal.”
She marched out before she could decide to argue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Call trace incomplete.”
Tony and Teresa shared a look before glancing over at the Expo model.
“Nebs,” she whispered.
“There’s no way he knows about any of you,” Tony said, but that didn’t settle the panic that was sinking in.
Vanko was in New York, just like Nebula, Pepper, Happy, and Rhodey.
He turned and saw a promotion for Hammer’s presentation on one of his screens.
“Okay, sweetie, daddy’s got to go to work,” he said, moving towards the new arc reactor. “Stay here with your brothers and U.”
“I wanna come!” she announced and he turned to her instead.
“Baby,” he said, setting his hands on her shoulders. “This could turn out to be very dangerous. I need you to stay here so I know your safe.”
“But -”
“Also, the suit won’t fit you,” he added with a smirk and she pouted. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and grabbed the arc reactor.
“Sir -”
“You want to run some tests, run them.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nebula glared at the man who had placed her father and so many others in danger. Before Aunt Pepper could stop her, she grabbed him and slammed him against the desk he was standing near. “You will tell us who did this now or I will make you.”
“Ivan. Ivan Vanko,” the worm stuttered out quickly.
“Where is he?”
“At my facility.”
Nebula shoved him aside and glared at the man at the computer. “Move.”
He tripped over his feet as he rushed to comply.
“Call the police,” she told Aunt Pepper as she pulled out her phone and connected it to the laptop, allowing her access to the device. “J.A.R.V.I.S. and I will do what we can from here.”
“No, no, honey. Don’t call the authorities.”
“Call her honey or touch her again and I will break your nose,” Nebula hissed and Hammer immediately jumped away from Aunt Pepper.
“How are we looking?” Aunt Pepper asked shortly later.
“Not good. None of them are on the same system. Without access to the main command center, we’re only able to shut them down one at a time. Well, two at a time since J.A.R.V.I.S. and I can each take one.”
“How are you doing that?” Hammer’s helper asked, looking at the screen and she shoved him away.
“Unlike your boss, Mr. Stark only hires the best,” she said, taking out one of the Marine drones. “Now leave.”
Everyone fled except Nebula and Aunt Pepper.
Suddenly the connection to the command center unlocked. Two video feeds opened up, one showing her father’s face from his heads up display, the other showing the redhead from legal her father had wanted to make his PA.
“Reboot complete. You’ve got your best friend back,” the redhead said.
“And you are?” he asked and the woman frowned.
“I’m Agent Romanoff. I’m a S.H.I.E.L.D. shadow. I -”
“Am fired,” Nebula finished, using her newfound freedom to shut down all the drones.
“That’s not up to you,” the spy said.
“But it’s up to me,” Aunt Pepper growled, stepping up behind Nebula. “Why is Fury sending spies into my company?”
“That’s something I would prefer to speak to Mr. Stark about in private.”
“If this is about Fury’s super-secret boy band, I already gave him my refusal. Also, Pep, remind me to sue Hammer for messing with Rhodey’s programming.”
“How -”
“Fury dropped a data file on his way out. I had a team go over it.”
Said team was himself, Nebula, and J.A.R.V.I.S., but that wasn’t something the spy needed to know.
“Mr. Stark, that was confidential information for your eyes only.”
“Then you shouldn’t have left the drive behind,” Nebula snorted. “Everyone present is aware of the Avengers Initiative, Agent, and as Mr. Stark said, he turned S.H.I.E.L.D. down.”
“Stark -”
“Can we talk about this when I’m not fending off a Hammeroid attack?”
“The drones are down,” Nebula said. “J.A.R.V.I.S. and I just shut down the last one.”
“Great, you’re the best!”
“Stark, we need to -”
“You know what, you’ve got my PA on the line, schedule an appointment. I think Fury and I need to have a talk about boundaries anyways. In the meantime, you can clean out your desk. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to check on my buddy.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“All these drones are rigged to blow. We gotta get out of here man.”
“Pepper and Nebula!”
Rhodey sucked in a breath and followed after Tony. They reached the girls just in time, Tony grabbing Pepper while he grabbed Nebula.
As the explosions went off, Rhodey found a roof to land on and set Nebula down.
Tony did the same and he and Pepper immediately started bickering.
And then they were kissing.
“They are ridiculous,” Nebula sighed.
“Yeah,” Rhodey agreed, sitting down on a box.
They broke apart and Tony said, “Weird.”
“No, it’s not weird,” Pepper disagreed.
“It’s okay, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Run that by me again.”
When they started kissing again, Rhodey said, “I think it was weird. You guys look like two seals fighting over a grape.”
“I had just quit, actually,” Pepper said as they broke apart and Tony started to speak over her.
“Yeah, so we’re not…”
Rhodey waved them off. “You don’t have to do that. We heard the whole thing.”
“Are you done now?” Nebula asked.
“You two should get lost,” Tony said, pointing between them.
“I was here first. Get a roof,” Rhodey said, but Nebula just turned and started to walk off.
“I quit.”
The three watched her march off.
Tony snorted. “Well, she lasted longer than some.”
Rhodey rolled his eyes and stood up.
“Hey, buddy, I’m going to need the suit back. Gotta fix all that Hammer nonsense. Maybe even give you an upgrade. Maybe. We’ll see if I’m feeling nice.”
“Sure, but my car got taken out in the explosion, so I’m gonna have to hang on to it for a minute, okay?”
Tony hummed. “Not okay. Not okay with that.”
“It wasn’t a question.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tony glanced around the warehouse Fury had set up for their meeting. His eyes landed on a folder for the Avengers Initiative Preliminary Report and he slid it towards himself.
Fury’s hand fell over it. “I don’t think I want you looking at that. I’m not sure it pertains to you anymore.”
“You’re right, it doesn’t,” Tony said before the man could continue. “I told you before I’ve got no interest. Now, about you sending your little spy into my company.”
“Romanoff was sent in to assess you -”
“After I already said no.”
“Which is why you were under consideration to be a consultant.”
Tony stared at the man before looking away. He stood up and held out his hand. When Fury took it, he clasped them man’s hand between both of his own. “You can’t afford me.”
He walked away.
“Stark -”
“Oh, and I’d be willing to drop the corporate espionage charges for a small favor,” Tony added, turning back to him. “Rhodey and I are being honoured in Washington and we need a presenter.”
Fury glared at him and he shrugged.
“Unless you want me to take your little secret spy ring to court. I’m sure the press would have a field day with that.”
“I’ll see what I can do,” Fury growled.
Tony gave him a smirk. “Just be glad nothing confidential passed her desk or legal would be tearing into you harder than they are Hammer. They don’t like it when they’re infiltrated. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a date with the cutest girl in the world.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So what are you going to do now that Nebs quit?” Teresa asked playing with the fake repulsor on her glove as Tony paid for their churros.
“No idea,” he said. “Keep the change.”
“Sir!” the churro girl exclaimed. “This is a hundred dollar bill!”
Tony waved it off and led Teresa away. “Guess I’ll have to hire one of Aunt Pepper’s choices. Or go without.”
“Why can’t Jay be your new PA?” she asked, pulling off her gloves and tucking them into her pocket so she could take her churro from him. The faceplate of her Iron Man helmet slid up and she took a bite. “He’s always helping you with stuff.”
“Mouth closed you goblin. And Jay’s a pushover. A snippy one, but still. He’d never nag me to do stuff like Aunt Pepper does.”
She swallowed and wiped her face before saying, “Why can’t you make a PA bot then?”
“That’s…” Tony paused, thinking it over. “That’s actually a really good idea, Gummy Bear.”
She gave him a wide smile before taking a big bite.
“Yeah, I can make her feisty. A redhead like your sister and Aunt Pepper.”
“Nebs doesn’t have red hair,” Teresa giggled.
“She’s got a few wigs that are red. I can make her Scottish, or maybe Irish? What do you think?”
“Irish!”
“Irish it is. See, this is why you’re my girl Friday, Baby!”
Teresa stopped, frowning at her churro.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”
She kept staring for a moment before looking up at him warily. She grabbed his hand and tugged him off to the side. “Can-can I talk to you about something?”
He knelt down and let go of her hand to cup her cheek. “Of course. You can tell me anything.”
She bit her lip, but nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a flicker of light, then another, before a form materialized in the lab. It was a young woman in her early twenties. She was pale and slim with red hair cut into a stylish asymmetrical bob and a sleek jacket and pencil skirt.
“Happy birthday, Friday!”
The AI turned her blue holographic eyes to Tony and Teresa.
“Thanks Boss, Baby-Bro.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday's here a bit early because Tony deserves a PA and I love the idea from the comics where she's his holographic secretary.
Next up: Big Buff Uncle
That feel when I actually stop to count and realize I've given Tony fourteen children and two grandchildren in this fic. I might have gone a little overboard. In my defense, over half the kids are either AI's or robots. Have fun guessing who the sixteen are! Reblog or message me with your ideas. Hint: Two kids and one grandkid come from the comics, the rest are MCU based.

so.. lo and behold I created an AO3 account for some marvel fanfic, if you’re interested, read below! Title: Alone Rating: T Word count: 1098 Chapter: 1/? Pairing: Eventual Stony  AO3 link: Click here Summary: It's been two years since the Accords went into effect. Pepper's moved on, half the Avengers are nowhere to be found, and Tony's nightmares are only getting worse.
“Boss, three incoming on your six.”
“Yeah--got that.” Nanites rolled down armored shoulders, forming custom missiles to obliterate the fast encroaching Chitauri. From the left came unexpected energy blasts, knocking the suit of its regular course with a punctuated grunt inside the armor. “Were you waiting until after to warn me about those?”
“I thought it might be a nice surprise.”
Tony scoffed, the beginnings of blood dripping off his brow, so conveniently obstructing his view. Another alien seemed to take the split second advantage, its intentions clear a second too late. Their armored claws extended, scraping down metal until they snagged a groove, roughly yanking Tony out of the air with a yelp. These things were a damn nuisance, but it was nothing a rough spin couldn’t solve, delighted to see centripetal force do its job and release the flightless Chitauri’s grip. Hello one-way ticket.
“Any idea on numbers?” It felt like there was no end to them; Tony must have already killed more than a hundred, and yet he couldn’t find a visible break in the flow.
“I can’t get a read -- flow is increasing at more than an exponential rate--”
Perfect. Just, perfect.
Almost on cue, warnings in his HUD wildly blared, warnings too soon to prepare for. It felt like damn near a dozen bodies had just toppled onto his armor, slamming him down towards the ground at a rate he did not like the odds of. To make those odds worse, they were clawing, biting, screaming at the armor -- and Tony was paling watching heavy dustings of nanotech shed.
“Superheat the armor--” The flashing lights illuminating the right half of his screen told Tony both jets on that side were gone -- replacing them hurriedly to try and keep himself fully armored. “--scratch that. Prepare for one hell of a landing.”
His nanotech quickly worked to insulate the back of armor, building-tops visible between the obstructing claws alerting him impact was imminent. The ground came hard, armor and Chitauri bodies slamming into pavement with a force hard enough to rattle the insides of Tony’s skull. It wasn’t until the ringing in his ears dulled that he could even process Friday’s attempt to warn him. Blood ran down nose, ears -- and yet the Chitauri continued on, acting as if the impact had done nothing but pin Tony down. Claws scraped holes through his faceplate, and Tony’s arms raised to attempt and block a lethal blow while his armor healed. “Friday--grab Thor’s attention for me.” Tony hissed through bloodied teeth, hoping lightning could thin the growing amount of Chitauri on his fast-disintegrating suit.
“Thor isn’t here, boss.”
Not here? That wasn’t reassuring, distracting him from blocking blunt claws scraping across his reactor. “Cap, I could use some ground support.” He tried again, blood running cold as he watched the sky blacken with Chitauri soldiers.
“Captain America isn’t here eit--h--er--”
“What--?” Repulsors fired a few off of his body, but with each gone, two more appeared. “Nat--Barton--” Somebody, anybody dammit. It was clear he couldn’t fight them off alone.
“The--y--’r--e-- gone bos---”
No. They wouldn’t.
Sharp teeth sank into exposed chest, and Tony screamed.
“You’re all alone.”
---
Tony’s chest heaved, fingers desperately working to free himself of what restrained him. It wasn’t until he was fully upright that he could feel how violently every inch of his body was shaking.
A few hard blinks reoriented himself -- forcing him to realize he was home, in bed, no invasion to speak of.
The same couldn’t be said for the rest.
Slowly, he managed to coax himself out of the sheets, feet planting themselves atop the cold hardwood. These nightmares never let Tony rest -- why spend the hours trying?
The only bright side to the empty spot beside him was these nightmares affected him, and him alone. No second person worriedly disrupting their sleep, all because of a bad dream that jolted Tony awake. He knew it was one of the many problems of he and Pepper’s relationship.
That break had come at a good time -- hadn’t it? He really thought the accords would set everything right -- bring everybody together again; arguably not in the same way, but together nonetheless. Instead it tore everything apart; his relationship, his team, the last ounce of togetherness Tony thought he had.
He needed coffee.
Slowly he filled his cup, hoping this batch would jumpstart him enough to overcome the grogginess he still felt. 2:48 AM -- that was more sleep than most nights. It would be a joke to think that meant they were getting better.
“Tony.”
Tony jumped, coffee sloshing out onto the counter -- and across parts of his hand. “Shit--” It didn’t matter much -- mostly because his eyes see Steve, barely illuminated by the farthest reaches of the kitchen light.
He blinked.
Gone.
His eyes searched across the empty space, before the burning sensation became too prominent of a thought to ignore. He ran the scalded spots underneath water, eyes burning with the plea to sleep just a little longer. He wished he could.
God, why was it so easy to hear Steve’s voice? It’d been nearly two years. Lack of sleep never helped the hallucinations. But the voice. The voice.
“Friday,” Tony started, picking mug off the counter to wipe down the rim, edges and bottom. “Pull up current projects in the lab. Run me through them.” Some mind-numbing designs could do him good, maybe even relax him enough for a thirty minute nap.
“Filed as Underoos: Iron Spider: Mark II. Stealth suit: Mark I. Enhanced webshooters.” Tony started down the hallway, sipping at hot coffee — though not nearly as scalding to the tongue.
“Mark L. Mark LI. Reconnaissance drones.” No, none of that for the morning. Last night’s bruises proved he needed to be more awake to calibrate repulsors. Another sip had Tony stopping before the lab doors, ushering himself in to clink mug atop a workbench.
“Megingjörð.” Oh right. Tony wondered if Thor would ever come and pick that up.
“Steve Rogers shield.”
That sentence hit harder than he imagined. Tony’s movements paused, his fingers lightly curling against the warm ceramic with a outward huff. “Stop—“ He instructed quietly, already moving to slide down into a nearby chair.
He wasn’t coming back for that shield. Why on God’s green earth would he? Tony had made it very clear he wasn’t its rightful owner.
Tony certainly wasn’t that either.
His hand ran slowly through hair, tugging the ends lightly. “Bring up Mark IV of Rhodey’s leg braces.”
At least this way, he could help someone who actually cared.

Tony Stark: Doing Character Development Right (Part 2)
Part 1
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Stark Expo: 6 months after announcing his new persona, Tony’s celebrating the opening of the Stark Expo, but behind all of the fireworks, AC/DC and his showman grin, something is hugely off. Once again, his public mask is obscuring what is going on underneath.
- The importance of Howard Stark is set up here.
- Also makes first contact with a tiny Peter Parker.
Senate Hearing: Tony’s all for transparency, but there’s no way in hell he’s gonna let the government have the armour and access to arc reactor technology. Find’s himself pitted against his own best friend, which ends up escalating during the film.
-Proves that the best hands are his own (Important to note for when I get to Civil War).
- Deliberately causes chaos to turn the hearing into the joke it is, which is, let’s face it, one of the best scenes in the movie
Palladium Poisoning: Tony escaped dying in Afghanistan, only to end up slowly being poisoned to death by the thing that is keeping him alive. Instead of dealing with it in a sensible fashion, Tony falls straight into recklessness.
- He starts making ridiculous donations to piss Pepper off.
-But then placates her by making her CEO so that his company won’t immediately go to shit when he dies from the poison.
- Unlike what Pepper insists, the Expo is a way to promote the future of science of technology. If he’s gonna die, he wants to make sure that the future is still bright without him.
Meeting Natasha: Just wanted to point out that while Tony does immediately find her attractive, he’s mostly making a show of it to stir up Pepper. He’s joking, so don’t give me that ‘Oh, Tony was being sexist’ bullshit.
Grand Prix De Manoco: Things really start to turn to shit. The sicker Tony gets, the more he panics. He figures, ‘fuck it, if I’m gonna die, I might as well go out doing something stupid. I’ll die the way everyone’s expecting me to.’
- Then Whiplash appears to fuck shit up and suddenly there’s another damn problem he has to deal with when he is literally running out of time.
Confronted: And just to make things even better, turns out Ivan is holding a grudge thanks to dear old Howard and that’s just another heap to pile onto the tower of bullshit that is Tony’s life.
- On the plane ride home, Tony makes it clear he just wants to disappear, which makes sense considering he’s attempting to do so by pushing away his loved ones.
Last Birthday Party: Natasha is testing Tony for the Avengers Initiative. She knows he is dying, so at the first sign of weakness, she prompts him to see how he reacts to being scared of his mortality......It doesn’t go well. He’s just getting more unstable. Nothing he’s tried is working, so death seems imminent anyway.
-He lets Rhodey take Mark II after their fight.Once he’s dead, the world will need another Iron Man and Rhodey was his first choice for a pilot anyway. Remember, Tony tried to recruit him in the first movie?
- Tony’s efforts to push his friends away has succeeded. Maybe now it won’t hurt them as much once they realise he’s gone.
S.H.I.E.L.D: Fury gives Tony a box that helps solve two problems. The poisoning and his long-standing resentment for Howard. Specifically Howard though. Yes, Howard was cold and calculating and there is no excusing the neglect, but he did ultimately have Tony’s best interests at heart. It’s a small offering, but at least it takes the edge off.
-Also, that scene has a big impact on Tony’s actions in Siberia, but we’ll get to that later.
Peppers Office: Now that there might be a solution to save him, Tony has to quickly backtrack and get Pepper back in his good graces. He tries to open up and tell her he needs her. It’s not well received, but at least he gets his hands on that model of Stark Industries.
New Element: What else is there to say other than Tony gets his mojo back and kicks ass in the name of science? He’s motivated again and what I love about this scene is that he demonstrates this by getting physical and just doing what he does best: being an engineer.
-Plus, you know....he just synthesises a new fucking element. Not like it’s a big deal or anything, right?
- Another plus, it’s like a post-humorous collaboration between father and son. Howard would be proud of him.
Hammer Drones and Showdown: Right, time to unleash some bad ass fuckery with the brand new Arc Reactor! We’re back in business! Aside from the awesome action, Tony readily accepts Rhodey as a partner because he doesn’t want to be the ‘lone gunslinger’ anymore.
- Important to mention that Tony saves Tiny Peter Parker’s life, which sets up a foundation for their relationship later in the MCU timeline.
-Also, Tony and Pepper spontaneously get together, which will obviously became a big part of his arc as time goes on.
Iron Man, yes. Tony Stark, not recommended: Which is complete bullshit, but I guess we can’t blame Natasha for not having the same omnipotence as the audience does. Not like it matters anyway as we’ll see in Avengers.
All in All: It’s kinda hard to discern just how much character development Tony had in this film. It’s obvious that he learned to have a little more faith in people. He got to resolve some concealed issues concerning his relationship with his father which is...good, I guess. It seems to just be a general progression from the first film.
The Avengers will be the true game changer for Tony as a character.
But that’s for next time.....

The USAF began a program in the early 1980s to replace the A-10 Thunderbolt II (more popularly called the Warthog, or just Hog) with a modified version of the F-16 known as the A-16 (occasionally changed to F/A-16), which would have been armed with a 4-barreled variant of the GAU-8 Avenger cannon known as the GAU-13, as well as with AGM-65 Maverick missiles. Several Air National Guard F-16s armed with GPU-5 pods flew missions during the 1991 Gulf War, but the pods proved to be unsatisfactory, and they were withdrawn after only one day.

Perhaps the most (in)famous early mission of the F-16 was the 1981 Israeli raid on the Iraqi "Osirak" nuclear reactor. The reactor, purchased from France, was ostensibly for peaceful purposes, but was believed by both the Iranians and Israelis to be potentially capable of producing bomb-making materials. During the Iran-Iraq war, two Iranian F-4 Phantom IIs attacked the plant's control room and centrifuge facilities, but this did not appreciably slow construction. The IDF then developed a plan to attack the reactor using their new F-16s, with F-15s acting as escorts. As the planes would have to cross through Saudi and/or Jordanian airspace, aerial refueling was not an option, so larger than normal drop tanks were fitted, as well as two Mk84 2,000lb bombs. Crossing through Jordanian airspace, the flight convinced ground controllers that they were a lost Saudi flight, then over Saudi Arabia they claimed to be Jordanian. The flight arrived at the reactor thirty minutes after the local air-defense troops went to lunch, so their radars were off and AAA guns unmanned. The attack collapsed the dome of the reactor complex, and despite Iraqi attempts to rebuild, the reactor languished until Operation DESERT STORM in 1991, when Osirak was completely destroyed by the Package Q Strike, a force of 78 F-16s, F-4G Wild Weasels, F-15s and EF-111s.

In addition to the 1991 Gulf War and associated enforcement of "no-fly zones" afterwards, the US' F-16 has been involved in the Balkan conflict, Afghan and Iraq wars of the 2000s, and 2011 Libyan intervention. The F-16 is currently serving with the USAF, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, as well as with the US Navy as an aggressor, and since 1983 as the aircraft of the Thunderbirds air-demonstration team.

In recent years, earlier model F-16A and -16C aircraft have been retired, as well as being converted into QF-16 drones, while the newest model, the F-16V, is being produced for the ROC, Bahrain, and Slovakia. The USAF had planned to replace the F-16 with the JSF, but delays in that program have seen the F-16 upgrades and service life extensions, and will remain flying for the foreseeable future.

FLIGHTLINE: 100 - General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon
Originally conceived as a lightweight day-fighter in 1972, the F-16 has grown to fulfil a multitude of roles over its 50 years in service.
The performance of fast but cumbersome missile-armed fighter-interceptors like the F-4 and F-106 in Vietnam convinced the USAF that, among other things, there was a need for a lightweight day fighter with better maneuverability to supplement the coming F-15. Led by Colonel John Boyd, the newly-formed Fighter Mafia pushed the USAF into opening a competition for a new Lightweight Fighter, with a Request For Proposals (RFP) being issued on 6 January 1972. The RFP specified a new aircraft in the 20,000-pound class, spec'd for air-to-air day combat, with a good turn rate, acceleration, and range, and optimized for combat at speeds of Mach 0.6–1.6 and altitudes of 30,000–40,000 feet. The overall cost for this new plane was not to exceed $3 million each, allowing the USAF to operate a "high/low" mix of a few F-15s for air-superiority and a larger number of the new plane. Boeing, General Dynamics, Lockheed, Northrop, and Vought all responded with designs. The Vought V-1100 and the Lockheed CL-1200-2 Lancer were eliminated early on, leaving Boeing's Model 908-909, General Dynamics' Model 401-16B and Northrop's P-600 as the LWF contenders. Boeing's design was originally favored, but GD's Model 401 was of similar performance and less expensive, so Northrop's P-600 (as the YF-17) and GD's Model 401 (as the YF-16) were selected as the finalists for a fly-off.

By 1974 interest in the LWF had increased, with several NATO countries looking to replace their aging F-104Gs, and the USAF now contemplating retirement of the F-105 and F-4. The YF-16 and -17 were now in competition with the Mirage F1M-53, the SEPECAT Jaguar and Saab 37E for the newly christened Air Combat Fighter (ACF) competition. On 13 January 1975 the YF-16 was declared the winner, with its lower operating costs, greater range, superior maneuvering ability, and commonality with the F-15 (both aircraft used the P&W F100 turbofan) cited as the deciding factors. Softening the blow to Northrop, on 2 May 1975 the YF-17 was selected as the basis for the Navy's new multi-role fighter, which eventually became the F/A-18.
Tumblr media

The USAF ordered 15 (later reduced to 8) Full-Scale Development (FSD) F-16s, 11 single seat F-16As and 4 two-seat F-16Bs (reduced to 6 and 2, respectively). The FSD aircraft differed from the YF-16 in that the fuselage was lengthened by 10.6", a larger nose radome was fitted for the AN/APG-66 radar, the wing area was increased from 280ft² to 300ft², the tailfin height was decreased, the ventral fins were enlarged, two more stores stations were added, and the original double nosewheel doors were replaced by a single door. As a result of the modifications, the weight of the F-16 FSD increased by 25% over the YF-16. Production of the F-16s commenced at General Dynamics' Fort Worth plant in late 1975, and by 20 October 1976 the first F-16A rolled out, followed by a first flight on 8 October of that year. The first two-seat F-16B flew on 8 August 1977.

The F-16 entered service with the USAF in 1979, as well as with four NATO countries: Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Norway. The Imperial Iranian Air Force was also a launch client, but with the Iranian Revolution in 1979 the order was vacated. Some 55 F-16s produced for the IIAF were later acquired by the Israeli Air Force. By the 2010s, F-16s would find a home in more than two dozen air forces around the world. The main production line was at GD's Fort Worth plant, and aircraft were also produced in The Netherlands, and Belgium for NATO. TAI in Turkey has produced aircraft under license for the Turkish Air Force as well as for export, and Korean Aerospace Industries produced KF-16s for the ROK Air Force. All totaled, there have been more than 4,400 F-16 variants built since 1975.

There have been seven major production variants of the F-16: The initial A (single seat) and B (two seat) models, the improved C (single seat) and D (two) models for the USAF, the E (single) and F (two) and V models for export. In addition there have been a number of subvariants (Blocks) that differ mainly in avionics, engines and weapons systems, as well as various models produced for different countries, such as the F-16I Sufa for Israel, and the aforementioned KF-16 for South Korea.

 The UNSC Gettysburg was one of the last Marathon-class cruisers ever built. Her hull was left unfinished and surprisingly unnoticed during the Battle of Earth as she sat in drydock at the Reyes-McLees Shipyards orbiting Mars. When the Human-Covenant War ended and the Marathon-class saw itself steadily replaced by the new Autumn-class cruiser, the hull almost ended up scrapped. ONI however, having seen the effectiveness of the UNSC Midsummer Night, acquired the incomplete vessel. With more room to maneuver after the War, ONI felt that with doctrine changing, another experiment was in order. Naval engagements with the Covenant Remnant were more of a nuisance now, and the few worlds that the UNSC had to defend were more than capable of fighting off anything the shattered remains of the Covenant fleet on their own, or at least holding the line until help arrived. With the orbital playing field working in favor of the UNSC, ground supremacy was now a necessity in order to advance human interests, especially during conflicts involving Forerunner sites.
This led to Project: MIDSUMMER NIGHT, named after the frigate who pioneered the initial attempts by ONI to make stealth-capable ships meant for combat strikes deep behind enemy lines back in 2535. The idea, to see if a refit Marathon-class could be re-purposed from combat specialization to ground combat support much like the refit Phoenix-class ships in the early years of the War. With space in her two hangars reduced from the stock version of the cruiser to afford more room for crew space and a small S-Deck for Spartan armament and deployment, the standard Broadsword and Longsword fighters were replaced by Sabre fighters to save space. One of her MAC guns was also pulled out, with the remaining one getting an updated variant of the weapon the Pillar of Autumn used during her short service time after the refit for Operation: RED FLAG. These modifications made space for not only crew and complement, but internal structural support and heat shielding.
 Her most notable feature, however, was an internal factory in the engineering section of the ship. This foundry could produce ammunition, arms, personal armor, and replacement parts so long as the ship could find a source of materials for the mining drones aboard to bring back. With access to the right materials, usually harvested from asteroids or glassed planets, the Gettysburg’s only restriction to her operational range was how many rations she could carry for her crew before needing resupply. Luckily, Prowlers could provide resupply with impunity.
 With her construction and refit being kept in the open as a sign of good will to the UNSC Navy, she was ready for service by late 2555 with her shakedown cruise happening a few months later. Mere weeks after being cleared for full service with ONI, she was slotted to support counter-Insurrection operations and acted as the command center for Vice Admiral Carson, whose daughter was killed during one of the initial terror bombing. After the campaign came to a close in mid-2557, Carson retired and the Gettysburg’s captain was promoted Rear Admiral. Gettysburg was put in for a long refit and repair cycle as well as another set of experimental trials. The shielding and stealth tech during her initial run required the crew to have Huragok among their numbers, with plenty of advancements being made in UNSC tech since her launch, ONI wanted to see how the ship would operate without any alien crew members. After her final refit, she was put under command of Captain Yousef Almasi where she served two tours creating trouble in Storm Covenant territory before his retirement in 2561. The XO, Commander Joshua-077, was given command and was to be promoted to Captain after the ship returned to Earth after the annual Reach Memorial. When jumping back from Epsilon Eridani to Sol, the Gettysburg suffered a Slipspace Drive malfunction and has been assumed lost with all hands.

Pepper Potts and Phil Coulson discover the Iron Monger Armor and Stark uses his Mark III armor to battle the power-hungry Stane, who dies in an explosion of the industrial Arc Reactor.
Stark publicly claims his new nickname as Iron Man, rejecting S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cover story; he’s later approached by Nick Fury to join the “Avengers Initiative.” That same day, Anton Ivanko dies and his son Ivan vows to take revenge on Stark by developing his own powered-armor tech.

Tony Stark appears before the Senate Armed Services Committee’s Weaponized Suit Defense Program Hearings.
Natalia Rushman, a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff, joins Stark Industries as Tony’s new personal assistant, on Fury’s orders.
Ivan Vanko crashes the Circuit de Monaco, battling Tony Stark, who equips his lightweight Mark V armor and defeats Vanko’s Whiplash tech.

May 30th
While Fury confines Tony Stark to house arrest after helping to slow his palladium poisoning, Rhodes delivers the stolen Mark II armor to the military, where it’s upgraded by Justin Hammer.
At the same time, Jane Foster and Erik Selvig monitor strange atmospheric disturbances in New Mexico, landing them on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s radar.
Meanwhile, Thor’s coronation is interrupted by the Frost Giants breaking into Odin’s treasure room; the Asgardian quickly brings the battle to Jotunheim before Odin puts a stop to it.
Iron Man, War Machine, Black Widow, and Happy Hogan defeat the Hammer Drones when Vanko hacks them to attack the Stark Expo. During this battle, a young boy (now confirmed to be Peter Parker) stands up to a Hammer Drone, assisted by Iron Man himself.
Coulson arrives in New Mexico and Thor crashes to Earth while Bruce Banner arrives at Culver University.
Odin enters Odinsleep and Loki begins to move against his brother when his true parentage is revealed.
Romanoff begins spying on Banner while Blonsky receives an unauthorized dose of enhancement serum.
Sif and the Warriors Three arrive on Earth with the Destroyer following them on Loki’s orders. It attacks S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and citizens at Puente Antiguo, but Thor proves himself worthy and, with his powers restored, defeats it.
An enhanced Blonsky battles the Hulk on Culver University’s campus while Romanoff reports her findings to Fury.
Stark accepts an advisory role with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers Initiative.

Later that day, Thor and Loki duel at the Rainbow Bridge. Thor destroys the Bifrost Bridge to prevent Loki from destroying Jotunheim, but that restricts Thor to Asgard and sends Loki into space. After a time, he arrived at the asteroid-strewn area known as Sanctuary, presided over by Thanos.
Blonsky mutates into Abomination when injected with products derived from Banner’s blood. Hulk defeats the Abomination after a destructive battle in Harlem.
Samuel Sterns, who attempted to cure Banner, ends up mutating due to exposure to Banner’s blood. Romanoff finds him and takes him into custody.
Fury receives the necessary funds to study the Tesseract and launch the Avengers Initiative.
Fury approaches Selvig with an offer to join S.H.I.E.L.D. in an advisory role, while the first “Mandarin bombing” occurs.
Tony Stark approaches Ross with a plan to put a team together, inquiring about Blonsky. His attitude rubs Ross the wrong way and the General refuses to release the Abomination, thus fulfilling Coulson and Agent Sitwell’s plan to keep Blonsky imprisoned.
The second “Mandarin bombing” occurs.

Aldrich Killian hires Trevor Slattery to pose as the terrorist known as the Mandarin in order to provide a cover for his explosive Extremis side effects which continue to make the news as “suicide bombings.”
S.H.I.E.L.D. continues research on Vanko’s “Whiplash” technology, the Tesseract, Samuel Sterns’ mutation, Jane Foster’s Nine Realms theory, and manage to thaw out a recently recovered Steve Rogers. The Darkhold also comes to their attention.
The Fifth Street Locos shoot up Eli Morrow’s car, which Robbie and Gabe Reyes had recently stolen. The car flips and Robbie is killed while Gabe is paralyzed. The Ghost Rider appears and saves Gabe’s life as well as Robbie’s, though the later is transformed into the new Ghost Rider.
Loki, aided by Thanos and The Other, uses the Tesseract energy to teleport him to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility where he steals the Tesseract and controls the minds of Selvig and Hawkeye. Heimdall alerts Thor and Odin of Loki’s arrival on Earth.
Meanwhile, Romanoff is undercover and interrogating weapons-dealer Georgi Luchkov; her mission is cut short by a call from Coulson, telling her Hawkeye’s been compromised.
Thor arrives back on Earth thanks to Odin’s use of dark energy to transport him. He has a brief skirmish with Iron Man and Captain America that ends with the agreement to take Loki into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
The Battle proceeds to New York where Loki opens a wormhole to allow the invading Chitauri army to swarm into the city. The Avengers unite, defeat Loki, and manage to prevent a missile from wiping out New York City. The invasion is ended and the Tesseract is reclaimed; Thor takes it to Asgard for safe keeping.
Many media outlets and private citizens record video of the invasion that show off both the heroic and destructive effects of the battle, in which the mother of Audrey Eastman and the mother of Ellen Nadeer and Vijay Nadeer died.

Loki manages to escape captivity aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier when his mind-controlled agents take it over and the Hulk goes on a rampage. Phil Coulson is killed in the process.
The cleanup from the Battle of New York begins. Citizens begin to gather bits and pieces of the alien tech, taking it either as trophies or for other purposes. To prevent this, Tony Stark and the federal government reformed the U.S. Department of Damage Control, Spider-Man: Homecoming spoiler: which puts private salvage contractors like Adrian Toomes out of business. Toomes, however, takes this opportunity to pilfer more alien technology and put it to criminal purposes.
Phil Coulson is resurrected at the Guest House, though the painful process has the agent begging the surgeons to let him die and necessitating the implantation of false memories, like Tahiti.
Scott Lang is fired from Vistacorp for fixing what he believed was a code error that was illegally overcharging customers.
Lang then breaks into Vistacorp Headquarters to return $4 million of the ill-gotten money to customers. He also breaks into his former boss’ mansion to steal his possessions and drive his car into the pool.

July 13th
Lang is arrested and sentenced to five years in San Quentin.
A fourth “Mandarin bombing” occurs.
The fifth “Mandarin bombing” occurs. Tony Stark tests his Mark XLII armor as his Iron Legion project causes friction between him and Pepper.
The Mandarin bombs both Ali Al Salem Air Base and the TCL Chinese Theater, which explodes when Jack Taggert succumbs to Extremis’ effects. Happy Hogan is caught in the blast but survives.
Stark’s mansion is destroyed by the Mandarin.
After discovering Killian’s plan, Stark and his Iron Legion save an Extremis-infected Pepper Potts (who didn’t need much saving after all) while Rhodes rescues the kidnapped President.
Pepper’s Extremis effects are neutralized while Stark has the last of the shrapnel near his heart surgically removed, throwing the old, obsolete Arc Reactor into the sea. Stark has the Iron Legion destroyed.

What makes a weapon powerful? The word powerful can be very subjective in this case. Causing massive annihilation is powerful but so is inciting fear in a prolonged and painful manner. Anything that can destroy lives and properties is powerful, conversely anything that can protect lives and properties from these 25 most powerful weapons in history is also equally powerful. There is no stopping any country or institution from proving to the world how powerful they can be whether by destroying their enemy or protecting their own.
#1 Maxim Machine Gun A self powered machine gun that could fire 600 rounds per minute which is equivalent to the firepower of 30 contemporary bolt action rifles. It has mostly been associated with British conquests and was famously used when 700 British soldiers fought off 3,000 warriors with just four Maxim guns in the Battle of Shangani.
#2 Pumhart von Steyr With a ball diameter of 80 cm, this super gun was the largest weapon used in 15th century Austria. Heeresgeschichtliches Museum at Vienna houses this monstrous bombard today.
#3 Monster Mortar The world’s largest cannon ever has a caliber of 975 mm. Created by Joseph Paixhans, this monster weapon staked its notoriety during the Siege of Antwerp in 1832.
#4 Tsar Cannon This engraved cannon is the largest howitzer ever made. It weighs 38 tonnes and is 5.34 meters long. Built in 1586, this massive weapon is now being displayed at the Kremlin in Moscow Russia.
#5 Mark I The first war vehicle to be called a tank could carry 5 machine guns and 8 soldiers. Mark I had several upgrades numbered II to X but all bore the same resemblance to their “Mother”. This massive tank and its variants were used by several countries throughout the First World War.
#6 Karl Gerat This mean machine created by Rheinmetall for the Nazi war machine was the largest self-propelled weapon to be used in actual attacks during World War II.
#7 Schwerer Gustav and Dora These two humongous World War II era German 80 cm railway siege guns are the largest caliber rifled weapons in history used in live combat and its shells are the heaviest of any ammunition ever.
#8 RPG-71 The Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot or hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher or simply the RPG is the most widely used anti-armor weapon in the world. Used by both militaries and insurgent groups, RPG’s even the battlefield out against opponents with more heavy artillery.
#9 B41 (MK-41) This gravity bomb is the United States’ most powerful nuclear warhead ever but has already been retired in 1957. The only 2 bombers that carried it were the B-52 Stratofortress and B-47 Stratojet.
#10 P-270 Moskit With a top speed of Mach 3, this Russian supersonic ramjet powered cruise missile makes it hard for enemies to counter attack. Not only that, because of the active military weapons’ secrecy, little is known about it’s background except for some measurements, calculated speed and a few other bits of very basic information.
#11 P-800 Onyx Other than the fact that its recorded speeds are between Mach 2.9 up to a whopping Mach 5.7 making it way faster than the previous item on this list, this Russian supersonic anti-ship cruise missile can also effectively sink a US carrier. That’s powerful.
#12 Shabab missiles A class of long range Iranian missiles that could potentially reach up to 5,000 km, Shahab missile upgrades are shrouded in secrecy but the assumption is that they would be used during a possible invasion by Israel.
#13 Agni Missile The Agni missile is a family of medium to intercontinental range ballistic missiles developed by India, named after one of the five elements of nature.
#14 Fat Man and Little Boy We all are familiar with the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings that changed the course of history during the last World War. Named after film characters, these two infamous nuclear bombs gave humanity a shocking memory of what warfare can do to a nation and its future generation.
#15 B53 The 9 megatons of TNT in B53 staked their claim as the most powerful warhead ever. It is one of the last very high yield thermonuclear bombs in the U.S. service but is no longer used actively.
#16 MOAB/GBU-43/B Massive Ordinance During the time of its development, the Mother of all Bombs or the officially named GBU-43/B Massice Ordinance was considered the most powerful non-nuclear weapon ever designed. Tested on March 11, 2003, its blast can destroy 9 city blocks with a radius of 137.61 m. A larger version of 13 tons was reportedly developed.
#17 FOAB or Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power (ATBIP) Nicknamed “Father of All Bombs” (FOAB), this is a Russian-made air-delivered/land-activated thermobaric weapon. In describing the bomb’s destructive power, Russian deputy chief of the general staff Alexander Rukshin was quoted as saying, “all that is alive merely evaporates.”
#18 Tsar Bomba Remember those enormous mushroom cloud explosions in history books? Well those were caused by these guys. The Tsar Bomb had a mass of 27 tons and would create a fireball with a radius of 3.5 kilometers.
#19 Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier With twin nuclear reactors that don’t need refueling for 23 years and bays that are capable of holding up to 130 F/A-18 Hornets just the appearance of this carrier in any region is enough to influence global politics.
#20 The Airborne Laser/Boeing YAL-1 The Boeing YAL-1 Airborne Laser Testbed, (formerly Airborne Laser) weapons system is a megawatt-class chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL) mounted inside a modified Boeing 747-400F. It is primarily designed as a missile defense system to destroy tactical ballistic missiles (TBMs) but funding for the program was cut in 2010.
#21 The Predator and Predator B (aka The Reaper) Used by the United States, the Royal Air Force, and the Italian Air Force, these drones are becoming increasingly common for both combat and recon operations.
#22 The Trident II D5 SLBM Launched from a submarine, this missile contains eight thermonuclear warheads. That’s bad news for anybody even remotely near the target.
#23 R-36 ICBM The difference between the previous entry and this Russian missile are the number of warheads that it can carry and the fact that it is normally launched from dry land. With its massive payload this ICBM wouldn’t have much trouble initiating a nuclear holocaust.
#24 Dead Bodies Nuclear bombs and lasers are scary and powerful, no doubt about that. But as they say there’s more than one way to skin a cat, and if you’re going for slow, mentally devastating destruction sometimes launching the diseased riddled bodies of prisoners that you’ve executed back over the city walls is the most sadistic way to go about decimating a  population.
#25 Chimera Viruses As we just said, being able to destroy an entire city in less than a second with the push of a button is one way to measure destructive power, but being able to selectively and slowly decimate a population with disease and infection is so unconventionally brutal that it has to top the list.
