Can’t help but feel like using the Commander as bait is going to backfire really, really badly.

They’ve spent their prime years on the battlefield protecting Tyria, losing precious loved ones, and now our pals are asking for the Commander to relive the casualties of those 10 years for jade batteries?

Our Commander is altruistic, selfless, and wholly dedicated to Tyria... but I think this season might be straw that breaks them.

That said-- Gorrik, Rama and Yao going with the plan I can understand since they’ve only ever seen the infallible side of the Commander and probably think they’re invincible, but Taimi? I expected a little more sympathy or hesitation, considering she knows what the Commander has gone through personally (still love her though).

for the record whichever one wins I'm gonna do some ask games for to try and get myself back into creative mode on something.

a brief blurb on each, for context:

crosscountry apocalypse: the world Stops. Dany (not her real name) is trying to get to her family. instead (or maybe as well) she gets a traveling companion named Robin. neither of them knows what they're doing but at least Dany can act like she does. they're both scared. over the course of a year, they grow closer and learn to trust and find purpose in a world that's so much quieter than the one they know and so much more dangerous. all things end or stop. some things have to keep going too.

a tale of two Marjories: two cousins who share the same name meet up annually during family reunions at an ancestral lakehouse for most of their lives. this story covers their final summer together as they learn to grow up and let go and keep their heads above water through change and trials and pain.

untitled wedding story: a multicultural family tries to navigate cultural and interpersonal tensions while preparing for the marriage of one of their daughters. Hailey, the older sister of the bride to be, is trying to figure out the trajectory her life should take as both her siblings seem to already know, so she takes up the role of Wedding Planner(TM). as the two vastly different sides of the family butt heads and tension builds as more guests arrive, the wedding itself may be the most normal part of the situation.

eldritch places: a post-grad enviromental sciences student (is that even a thing?) is tapped by a shadowy government organization to take part in a remote research project inside the enormous sarcophagus hiding a mysterious island from the world. along with her handler/research partner, Tom, Olive will experience things she's never even conceived of being afraid of. the epic highs and lows of noneuclidean research, as it were. at least she's not alone.

Gonna be changing a lot of back story stuff but it’s canon Rynee and MJ met in college!

And MJ became the catalyst that got Rynn into the alt scene. rynn was super shy and self conscious about her interests, mostly bc of her mom and the type of friends she had in high school.

She was one of those girls who secretly listened to hard core metal music and liked t shirts and jewelry with skulls and stuff

After befriending MJ she was encouraged to come out of her shell

when marjorie by taylor swift comes on and all of the sudden it's April, the living room is filled with the smell of flowers and candles, everything is painfully quiet and yet as I'm getting ready for my grandpa's funeral, I can still hear the sound of my grandma screaming and sobbing after she found out that her son had died a day prior

I got to see Nothing New live the first time it was performed, witness her announce Speak Now TV, and my surprise songs were Sparks Fly and Teardrops on My Guitar (this one is really special because it was my first favorite song of hers, yes I’ve been a fan since debut) 🥹🥹🥹

sometimes I think about how marjorie was written about Taylor’s grandmother, and then I think about my own grandma. she’s the strongest woman I know, and everytime I listen to that damn song I can’t help myself from crying. makes me think about how she raised three kids on her own after her alcoholic husband died in a motorcycle crash while they were in high school, battled low finances while being a librarian, gets me and my cousins an ornament every year…. screw this i’m turning this into a grandma appreciation post. i love this woman.

she’s obsessed with disney, she loves mickey mouse and has an entire christmas tree dedicated to mickey mouse ornaments. she also makes the best cookies. every thanksgiving and christmas she makes the turtle cookies with pecans and they’re so good. she lives in a small, somewhat poor neighborhood, but she always makes the most of it and never fails to help me and my mom with anything we need. she texts me every month and never fails to remember my birthday even when my friends do. she writes cards to my dorm because she thinks the cats on them are funny. she took in my uncles dog when he was battling addiction and took care of the dog until the dog died 10 years later. she loves sewing. one of my earliest memories is when she made me a pink fairy costume when I was a toddler for a mall halloween event. she sewed it by hand and i was so freaking proud to show off that costume. she hemmed my pants for a baking competition in high school and helped me to put together my chef outfit. she later helped me alter my senior prom dress and constantly told me how beautiful i looked in it even though my mom kept making remarks about how i needed to lose weight. she would take me to the zoo when my parents worked during the summer. she never had a lot of money, but she would always make sure i was having fun and was well fed. no matter how i was feeling, she was always there to encourage me and congratulate me on anything. when i was accepted to Baylor on a scholarship, she was the first to know. when I accepted my UT application, she invited me over for dinner at her house. she was there when my cat died suddenly and offered support. she came to every theatre performance and choir concert i had, even if my parents didn’t or couldn’t make it. she always comments on my instagram posts no matter what it is. always a “you look amazing!” or “looks like fun!” or “miss you!”. she never misses the chance to be there for me. she lost her husband many years ago, but never remarried. she does all her housework and constantly reminds me i don’t need anyone else to be amazing. she brought me flowers at graduation and told me how proud she was of me. when i used to play volleyball, she would come to every home game and cheer me on. she got me signed books from my favorite authors and even some books ahead of their formal publication date. she buys me cat stuffed animals when she sees them because she knows i love cats. she got me plant pots for my birthday because I had mentioned once how mine were too small. when i was really little, she would run a bath for me and i would play with this really old ship toy in the bath. she used to let me play pretend cook with her tupperware and i would serve her “gourmet beef.” she has this really old green armchair that was tearing, and cried when my family decided to refurbish it as a birthday present. she gives the best hugs and smells like cinnamon and plastic (oddly enough in a good way). she write in cursive and sometimes it’s so loopy i can’t read it. she used to have this really big tree in the backyard and every year during pecan season we would go scavenge the pecans that fell from the tree to make pie. god omg i’m crying rn as i’m writing this. anyways, idk why i decided to write this - i guess marjorie just had me thinking about it today. my grandmothers name is Margaret, and it’s scarily similar to marjorie so it makes me sob everytime. thanks grandma for being amazing.

I have for you a companion to my previous simblreen set - 4 pieces of wall art depicting witches who fought in the war between spellcasters and vampires. These are meant to be older than the previous set, but in color bc magic!

Florencia learned long ago that the only way to survive chaos is to become chaos. That's her excuse, anyway. Florencia Dillon is an oc spellcaster-turned-vampire who later became Elle DeVampiro's mother-in-law. I don't want to clutter up this post more than I already have, but she shows up in my previous set and you can read more about how I've developed the DeVampiro family here.

No one knows how Keisha got this frame. Best not to think about it too hard. Keisha Hughes is a premade from the Realm of Magic Sages household. She is L. Faba's predecessor as Sage of Mischief.

maria's historical prints (requires werewolves) [SFS]

Maria understood the importance of photography in maintaining and communicating a robust historical record. She designed these frames to house her favorite moments. She may have gone slightly overboard in duplicating literally hundreds of them on the assumptions that her colleagues would be as passionate about the preservation of history as she was. Someone will find something to do with the excess - they’re really quite cute! Maria Volkov was a Mooncaster (one of the spellcasters who successfully fought vampires by becoming werewolves). She was Kristopher Volkov's mother and died a very long time ago.

tess's discovery (requires realm of magic) [SFS]

After the invention of the camera, Tess began experimenting with different chemicals and development methods in an attempt to invent color photography. Weeks spent inhaling noxious fumes in an unventilated basement led her to one conclusion: Just use magic. Tess Dyer is a premade from the Realm of Magic Sages household. She is Morgyn Ember's predecessor as Sage of the Untamed. According to this trailer, she was the one who ascended them.
