Christmas breakfast means jam taste testing!!! Sitka rose 🌹if you know me, you’ll know that I LOVE rose flavoured things, so this jam was absolute perfection in my eyes Marionberry 🫐 tbh I’ve never heard of this berry before. The jam reminded me of blackberry jam but slightly more sour (my sister just looked it up and apparently it’s a cultivar of blackberry, the more you know!) Overall a solid jam 🌟

this is a “marionberry bliss bar” from the farmer’s market and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever had

It's been heavily overcast, raining lightly a bit, all day, so it's incredibly rude for the sun to come out right after I decide that since my shoes are wet and my socks are wet and I've probably done enough gardening anyway I should go inside and have a snack and stay in for the rest of the day.

I had to renew my car registration and it had me feeling some kind of way.

In Oregon, registration is good for two years. So I was crouched down on the curb thinking about how the last time I put this sticker on my license plate, I had been living in this state for less than a week.

Six months later, I lost the job I moved over a thousand miles to be here for. A few months after that, I went back to school and spent 8 months studying programming. I spent about six months job hunting and I have just now finished my first month of my new job.

And in that time I also discovered amazing local traditions. Saturday Markets. The Night Market. The Soapbox Derby. The Giant Pumpkin Regatta. The Winter Light festival. I sampled local delicacies like marionberry pie. I've met awesome people and joined a crafty club. I've been absolutely SURROUNDED by more nature colors and fragrances than I ever had before.

And now I'm placing this new "26" sticker on my car over the "24" sticker. I had a whole other career last time I did this. I knew nothing about Oregon the last time I did this.

It's wild how much can happen in two years.
