by the way i just got to dressrosa, so i have not seen all of these characters’ outfits, so these are just my favorites so far !! i’m also not including dressrosa’s anime intro outfits, cus those are so good they would win be default.

luffy

impel down luffy’s outfit is so simple but i love his arm band and i think it’s really cool !! his color palette is also really refreshing compared to his usual pre time skip outfit.

zoro

he looks so cute 💀 this is first arc i was actually somewhat attracted to zoro, he just looks so good in this outfit and i love his goggles and armband !! all of these outfits so far are super simple but i promise there’s some wild ones in here

nami

thriller bark nami’s outfit goes so hard it’s insane. her blouse, skirt, and even her tiny earrings !! actually adorable. and her hairstyle ?!?? iconic. amazing. perfect.

usopp

ngl, his base post time skip outfit is fire. the color palette is perfect on him, i just wish they made his skin like. a normal color for a black man. his little facial hair is so silly and ngl i just noticed it 💀

sanji

all sanji’s outfits are very similar so the only one that really stands out to me is the dress. she honestly slays so hard, and the makeup is on point. it very much fuels my transfem sanji headcanon, and when i look at this image, i can only think of sanji as a woman and it feels like misgendering if i use he for her 💀 other times i usually just use he/him for sanji, but in this dress, transfem sanji is so real.

chopper

it looks like he’s on his way to school he’s so cute 🥹 there’s not a lot of standout chopper outfits so far but i chose this one cus it’s cute.

robin

miss all sunday. it’s so heavily miss all sunday, it’s not even close. okay maybe it is close. i love her enies lobby and thriller bark outfits, but this outfit just screams native to me. i love it so much, her armband !! luffy 🤝🏽 robin when it comes to looking fire asf with an armband. indigenous king and queen (luffy is canonically indigenous, robin isnt but i headcanon her to be)

franky

i know this is controversial. but this was everything. this was absolutely everything. honorable mention to thriller bark franky with the yellow shirt, but this franky is amazing. i really wish we could see more of this, or that they could have even explained it ?!?? like why he wears that mask ?? anyways, it looks super fucking cool !!

similarly to chopper, he doesn’t have a lot of outfits, but i like this one !! it’s simple and cute and i like green on him !!

Jinbe

i love his egghead outfit, but i haven’t gotten that far, so his impel down/marineford outfit will have to do !! i really like the orange on him !!

How do you guys think strawhats meeting Crocodile again will go?

On one hand so did Crocodile give up on life after being defeated, not suicidal, just numb to the world. He didnt even have the energy to hate Luffy while he hated Whitebeard with a burning passion from loosing to him.

Maybe have more distrust against Robin than anything else concider they did spend a long time together and then stabbed eachother in the backs.

And after Marineford Crocodile have been seen smiling at the newspaper while reading about Luffys latest antics. So he likes Luffy atleast now.

He isnt stupid or naive so I dont think Crocodile sees them as friends or the like. But he wont be hostile at all towards Luffy.

Franky and Brook dont have any idea who Crocodile is, but would follow the others lead wherever Crocodile is trustworthy or not.

Chopper and Usopp I think would still be afraid of him but would have the least amont of personal negetivity towards Crocodile. Zoro would be the same with little personal grudges towards him, except his fight with Daz Bones I wonder if Zoro really remember that much about Alabasta.

Sanji and Nami would be more mad for Vivi's sake. And probably want to beat his ass again.

Robin still sees Crocodile as one of her villians so I bet she dont want anything to do with him. But she is one of Luffys enables and rarely go against Luffy (I think the only time Robin been mad at Luffy was at zou. I dont remember why anymore thou) so who knows, she might go along with Luffy this time too.

Jinbei was there at the war, I dont know how much Jinbei have spent with Crocodile as a warlord but Crocodile saved Luffy two times at the war, stood beside the whitebeard pirates, his enemy, to keep Akainu from getting to Luffy. So I could see Jinbei defending Crocodile a little for saving his captain. It isnt clear how much the crew knows about the events of the war. Luffy dont talk much about his past so I bet he wouldnt want to talk about one of the most tramatic experience of his life. And how much did the newpaper cover? The navy tried to silence the detailes but thanks to Buggy a lot of things they navy wanted hidden got out. But it doesnt mean there was an indept explaination of everything that happend. The crew might not have known that Crocodile is the reason Jinbei and Luffy survived getting away from the war.

Im really curious how the meeting will go. Will they be cordial? Will it be stressful? Will the cross guild go against the straw hats or join them?

Mihawk said he didnt want to fight strawhats, maybe just have a battle/sparring session with Zoro but not with the whole crew. And Buggy is a coward.

But they could be rivals to the side, competing against eachother but not go into a real battle.

bits of spoilers for marineford if ya havent seen but isnt insane how ace heard what garp told him like a decade ago (“do i deserve to live?” “only time will prove that”) and his little fucked up brain inmediately connected it with a need to prove he desrves to be loved. to live. to exist without feeling like the desire alone isnt a sin he must pay for.

No worries, I'm at the start of Whole Cake Island right now, but I'm not particular when it comes to spoilers, anyway!

Yeah, Garp made a lot of mistakes, but that was definitely one of the biggest. Most of his worst decisions revolve around Ace; I was absolutely floored by his behaviour at Marineford. It's like, the man turns down becoming an Admiral because he doesn't want to be under the thumb of the World Gov, but what's the point? It's not like he's doing anything of real worth as a Vice Admiral. He couldn't even save his grandson. I remember him saying something to Ace along the lines of his fate being a product of his decisions, and that if only he'd gone another path, he wouldn't have ended up on the chopping block. But that's bullshit, old man! Bullshit!!!!

Garp really was especially shit to Ace. "Dump him in the middle of a forest with some bandits, don't tell anyone about him, visit very sparingly. Perfect!" I don't doubt he cared about Ace, and vice versa, but he didn't do enough; and what he did do was too little, too late. I think Ace was particularly fucked up by Garp because Garp wasn't so much a father figure as a commanding officer. (Maybe that's all Garp knows? Look at Dragon, for crying out loud.)

Anyway, I'm sorry, I don't know where I'm going with this. But maybe Ace wouldn't have so many goddamn daddy issues if Garp had just stepped up for once. Must've been hard for Ace to see that Luffy, another child under Garp's care, got a bit more attention and thought than he ever did.

WARNING FOR DEATH AND GRAPHIC MECH VIOLENCE/GORE BUT what if the whitebeards brought ace his mech when they rescued him and he was in his mech when he died..........the systems shutting down the lights flashing red the reactor is overheating where akainu has blasted through the metal, its still glowing red and dripping off and warping with how high the temperature is. ace is literally cooking alive in the cockpit with this screaming 100 ton machine wired into his brain (its heavier than anything anyone should be able to move in that state, it shouldnt move at all--) but his big red flame-painted mech still somehow takes three steps forward and hugs luffys shitty slapdash pieced together mech because thats the closest he will ever get to him again, still too many inches of metal too far to hug him for real, but he HAS to because he is going to die here with this machine. its pumping boiling chemicals and gasoline from ruptured fuel lines into his veins and hes punctured by the metal and his skin is on fire but it was made by people who loved him so he could protect what HE loved and hes glad to die hooked into the sparking computer because at least he isnt alone. he never has to be alone again. im crying in the club rn bro

Portgas D. Ace & his long lost sister Scenario

You were a part of the Whitebeard pirates since you can think about it. Whitebeard was the man who adopted you as a little kid and he became your father like anyone else on the Moby Dick.

During the last few days the rumors about a young pirate called Portgas D. Ace or Fire Fist Ace, who wants to kill Whitebeard, got louder and louder.

You have heard in a small town about him for the very first time and shortly after that a fishman from fishman island told your crew and captain that this rookie had burned down the Whitebeard flag at fishman island.

All of you stared at Whitebeard and waited for his next order.. It was one of the biggest offenses in the world of pirates to burn down the flag of another crew.. But instead of becoming angry Whitebeard laughed: „Gurararara such a brat wants to fight me? Let's see what will happen to him in the New World.“

You were surprised.. What did this mean? This boy had offended their crew and Oyaji.. And he didn't want to do anything? „Oyaji!“ You went over to him: „Let me fight this rookie for you! He has insulted our crew.. Even worse! He has insulted you! I want to fight for you!“

But Whitebeard shook his head and smiled: „Y/N, I'm thankful that you want to defend the honor of our crew.. But do as I said. Who am I that I would accept any call out from any brat who means to be strong enough to fight me. He will learn pretty fast how hard the sea in the New World will be.“ - „But..!“

Whitebeard looked at you and patted your head: „That's an order my child.“ And so the discussion ended. You didn't understand how Whitebeard could keep so calm, but you accepted his decision and lived your life at the Moby Dick.

Two months later you were alone on a little island. It was also Whitebeard's territory and you had to look if everything was okay. Suddenly a carrier pigeon arrived at your location and while you were reading the news made you very angry.

This damn rookie has started a fight against Jinbei! A friend of the Whitebeard Pirates. Without any hesitation you took your little boat and drove to the island. This time Ace has gone too far!

When you arrived at the fighting place the Moby Dick arrived as well and sadly you got no chance to kick Ace's ass.. But while you watched the little fight (if you want to call it a fight) between Whitebeard and Ace you feel a strange connection to the rookie.. You had the feeling to know him.. But why?

You shook your head.. That meant nothing.. You knew him because of the news.. Nothing more.. The fight ended pretty fast and the Whitebeards took him and his crew on the Moby Dick. Much to your displeasure.. Which plans had Oyaji with him..?

Some time passed during that Ace attacked Whitebeard again and again and tried to kill him as he had announced, but he had no chance against the emperor. You watched these little fights, but never tried to talk to Ace..

Since the day he had first seen you, he looked at you with such a passionate hate that you started to evade him.. What was his problem? You have never talked to him or done anything..

Thoughtfully you stroke over the tattoo of your real father Gol D Roger and become sad.. When Ace really wanted to join the Whitebeard Pirates you would have to live with this passionate hate.. And it hurt you.. Even though you don't know why this young man has such a deep impact on you..

„Hey you!“ A voice sounded behind you and you quickly turned around. It was Ace, he looked at you with the same look as always: „My name is Y/N.“ You answered him and looked with a pissed look at him: „Hm.. Why do you wear this Jolly Roger?“ You looked at him irritated: „Because I want to? What do you care about?“

Ace stiffened and continued to scowl at you: „Because that's the sign of the devil. You should not wear it as a tattoo.“ And with these words he turned away and walked away. You laid a hand on your tattoo.. No one should know who you were.. But he was wrong.. Gol D Roger wasn't a devil.. He was one of the coolest pirates you know..

For weeks that was the only talk you had with Ace and to be honest you didn't have to say anything to him. His words had hurt you..

Late at night Whitebeard called you in his cabin and as you came in you were very surprised to see Ace as well there. „Did something happen?“ You looked at your Oyaji and ignored the other one.

Whitebeard laughed calmly and looked at you two: „I think.. I have an important message for you two..“ - „What do you mean..?“ You two asked like one person. Again Whitebeard laughed and looked at you for a long moment: „You two really look alike.. But that's the way it should be with twins..“

You two stared at him confused.. Twins..? What did that mean? „You two are the children of Gold Roger and Portgas D. Rouge.. I knew that you had a brother Grace.. But I didn't know where he was.. So now he is here.. Ace is your big brother. I hope you two will get along better from now on.. You are family.“

In shock you stared at Ace and Ace as well stared at you. Brother? Sister? But he was such an idiot! You were stunned.. How could that be? Him of all people? You pressed your lips together and clenched your hands into fists, tears ran down your face.

All of a sudden two strong arms pulled you to a warm body and when you look up you look into Ace's warm smiling face: „I'm sorry little sis.. I.. Was an idiot.. But I didn't knew that you have to carry the same burden as me.. I.. I swear that I will be a better big bro from now on..“

What was that warm feeling which filled your heart? These words.. You always felt loved by your family.. By the Whitebeard Pirates, but this time it was something different.. This was your brother.. Your real brother.. The only family member you had in this strange world.

You nodded and pressed your face against his chest: „Don't be such an idiot always..“ You mumbled and Ace started to laugh a little bit.

During the next few days you got to know Ace better and better he talked a lot about his little brother Monkey D. Luffy and how he wanted to become the pirate king. You as well told him everything about your adventures with the Whitebeard Pirates.

It was such a great time. Even though it wasn't uncommon for you two to start arguing whether it was about food or the other person's opinion, you both just had the same fiery temperament.

But you two also knew that you could count on each other and became a very strong team. When Ace became the commander of the second division, you were even appointed his vice.

Since Ace knew he was your big brother, he also cared a lot more about you and was there for you. When you had a nightmare or were sad you could always come to him, no matter what time, and he somehow always managed to make you laugh.

He was really a fantastic big brother for you, who gave the best hugs and would never let anyone hurt you.

For real. I think even Ennies Lobby isnt even the hardest pre time skip arc to film like just think about Marineford for a second and imagine trying to put all that in a tv screen. Its going to need Game of Thrones levels of budget at the least
