SAY HELLO TO... SHERIFF WOOSTERN !!

It was about time for this post to get an upgrade. Now, i don't think there's many of you, but for those who don't know her, allow me to re-tell you the story of Sheriff Woostern; My Deltarune Chapter 3 Secret Boss OC...

███████ ████ ███ was a former child actress on Starry Lands, known for her role as "Sheriff Woostern" on the show "Woostern & Friends". It was quite the popular show among the darkners, but most improtantly, among the lightners; the main reason the show existed to begin with.

She was a very talented actress for such a young darkner, almost as if she truly believed that she was a Sheriff and a "true hero", and that everything that happened at the show was... Real.

Nonetheless, things were going great for her. Everyone on the studio loved her, she became close friends with Ms. Mari, another actress who worked on the show, and overall, it seems that life could only get better for her...

But... One day, something strange happened. "Woostern" was alone in her green room that day, just drawing things as she usually did, waiting for The Director or Ms. Mari to call her to record a new episode. She heard a knock on her door, excited, she ran over almost immediately to open it to whoever it was. She has always been a bit air headed, perhaps that's why she didn't notice the strange darkness growing from under the door...

And when she opened the door, she was met by... Him. The man introduced himself as a big fan of her show, so much that he came over to the studio, only to meet her. "Woostern" was excited and cheerful to meet the man, she didn't know any better. Suddenly, the man offered the young actress a present. A little gift inside a box. "Woostern" happily accepted the gift and opened the box.

Inside the box was... A large piece of cloth, and a strange crystal. She looked up and the man had dissapeared. She looked at the piece of cloth, and it ocurred to her that it was meant to be some kind of clothing, so she decided to try to put it on. And when she did, the strange cloth transformed, into a very fiiting poncho, with a big smile on it. She loved it. Little did she know, that that "poncho" had more secrets inside of it than what it seemed.

Not long after that, people started to notice strange behavior coming from the little actress, she started to whisper things to herself quite often, and sometimes even suddenly disappeared with no excuses or explanations other than she was doing it for a "friend". And all of that, without ever taking her new poncho off.

Not long after that, the lightners stopped enjoying, caring, and watching the show. The ratings were low, and there was no way the show could keep up like this. So, The Director took the decision of cancelling "Woostern & Friends". When the young actress heard the news... Something changed. Something horrible. Something inside of her... SNAPPED. The recording set of the show was destroyed, in what seemed to be a fit of anger and desperation, by what people thought was "Woostern" herself. When she was finished, the young actress seemed like she couldn't remember anything of what just happened. She was the sheriff, why was everyone blaming her for this? Why was everyone talking to her like she was some sort of criminal? With tears in her eyes, she ran away from the studio before anyone could stop her.

Nowadays people have forgotten about the show, and The Director stopped searching for her assuming that she was taken by the young lightner when he went to college. In reality, she's hiding, waiting, for someone to help her out of this dilemma she has found herself in. But the poncho she's wearing... Her "friend"... Seems happier than ever.

Now, enough sad backstories.

As said in the image, she's strongly based on the Woody Theory, so her whole western theme, along with some other points, are not really that original.

She's a sweety pie the 70% of the time, helping Kris and becoming friends with them , the other 30% she's busy being the secret boss.

Her lightworld counterpart is a random doll Asriel used to play with, then forgot about it when he got older, and then abandoned it when he went to college. Pretty much like Toy Story 3, yeah!

About her design, i tried to go for a more cartoonish/doll? styled, making her whole torso being cover by the oversized poncho, the little hands, rosy cheeks and eyes way too big to be a human. And as for the poncho, well, you can already tell where her "friend" is, right?

Cringe is dead and I’m redesigning my old UT/DR OC/Self-Insert: Echo (she/they)

Info dump about them below the cut!

So I originally made them in the wake of Deltarune’s release, when the whole “we, the players, are possessing Kris 😱” thing was very fresh and the whole Undertale Multiverse was still going strong. So naturally they started out as basically a self insert, the version of me that played Undertale and later Deltarune.

So a quick rundown of their lore (btw I make no apologies for the Mary Sue aspects of this):

They originally controlled Frisk, doing several different Runs, endlessly curious about the world

At the end of their most recent True Pacifist they find their way back in the True Lab and into a part of it they hadn’t seen before

While exploring they accidentally activated a machine from before Alphys’s time and get Gastered

…kind of

Instead of being fully “shattered across space and time” they’re just… slightly fractured across space and time

Tbh I like to think of it like they got hurled full force at the 4th wall and got stuck in it like jello

Not really breaking the 4th wall so much as jiggling it aggressively and gaining an new kind of perspective

This had some interesting consequences, including (but not limited to):

separating from Frisk (who runs out of the Lab in fear) and gaining a physical form of their own

the ability to slip into different universes at a whim

the inability to talk normally, now effectively “speaking” in text box noises (lmao get Animal Crossing-ed idiot) and thus can’t be understood by most people (with a few exceptions)

the ability to posses objects and other people (which they do feel the need to sometimes as their true form is off putting to most, though they try not to possess people if they can help it)

others probably? haven’t quite figured that out yet

Which these newfound abilities, they decide to explore the multiverse and see all the interesting things it has to offer

But first, they decide they want a traveling companion, so they don’t get lonely

And they know the perfect candidate, someone who understands what it’s like to have unfathomable power and the want to explore all possibilities with that power for your own entertainment and curiosity’s sake

Someone who really doesn’t have anything left to seek in this world

And damn it if Flowey isn’t very interested in that offer

This arrangement is a strangely balanced symbiosis

For Flowey:

traveling the multiverse gives him a kind of clean slate he could never achieve on his own, especially with the loss of his reset powers

the multiverse is also very interesting and fun to explore

they know what he’s been through and what kind of a person that’s made him better than anyone else. they understand it, and they know to judge him for it would be hypocritical

For Echo:

so long as Flowey is attached to them in some capacity he can understand their strange “speech” and frequently acts as a translator (they are also learning sign language to ease that burden)

he’s far more experienced in battle and frequently acts as protection in more aggressive universes

re: the point about mutual understanding

Flowey is also unable to absorb their soul, which means his power over them is limited and if he crosses a line they’re fully able to ditch is ass in any universe they want

It’s notable that while Echo’s curiosity can occasionally override their morality, they’re still more inclined to chose the kinder option

I consider them to be chaotic neutral, leaning towards chaotic good

(I also personally see Flowey as somewhere between true neutral and chaotic neutral, occasionally slipping into chaotic evil. What can I say, he’s a nuanced guy)

Anyway, they travel the multiverse together, experiencing new things, seeing interesting sights, causing chaos

Eventually they find themselves in the Deltarune side of the multiverse

The universe they end up in is one where the entity possessing Kris is an incredibly malevolent one

Or I should say, the entity that was supposed to be possessing Kris

As Echo senses the Bad Vibes approaching this random human child, they say “absolutely the fuck not” and possess Kris themself to block the entity

This does mean they have to drop Flowey to do this, so he’s just kinda in the background for the time being

From there it’s basically just Chapter 1 until the point when Kris rips out the soul and goes to eat some pie

While they’re distracted, Flowey climbs in and breaks open the cage so Echo can unpossess the soul and leave now that the malicious entity is gone

They do decide to stick around and check out these Dark Worlds

Luckily for them, while they were busy dealing with the classroom Dark World, Flowey took the time to explore the town and found this perfectly good empty vessel that someone seems to have discarded

Deciding not to question it, they possess the vessel and wait for a new Dark World to open so they can explore it together

And that’s the basics of their story (or as much of it as I have ironed out lol). Hopefully this hyperfixation stays with me cuz I’d love to explore their character a lot more 😁

Artfight Attack Updates, My Take on Maryverse (Non-Undertale/Deltarune) Overworld Sprites, and SwilTaett 'FANART FEATURE' Version Two!

The Second Attack was for @butterrbee , featuring IGNEO MALICE (who I also attempted to make a palette for in this artwork) interacting with Patchwork, an original OC who was chosen because of their similar aesthetic to Ripper and shared interest in pranks and trickery!

Because the original image didn't have much context for it, I'd decided to do an improv recording of IGNEO Malice talking to Patchwork after reading the Reference Sheet.

The tone and stability of voice, as well as accuracy of the laugh is consistent to other Voice Tests, but because of it being improvised (which I don't have much experience with yet) I wasn't able to keep IGNEO MALICE's pattern of rhyming like Jevil does in Deltarune.

Here's what the original Reference for Patchwork looks like, in case anybody else was wanting to make Fanart of him for butterbee, whether it's for Artfight or not!

The Third Attack was for @marnielovesyouu ! Featuring Mary Rosemary and PeePee, who are both Cast Members from Marnie's 'Maryverse' Project, which already has concepts and animatics for a Theoretical TV Series, where the three members of 'Catgirl at Heart' (Mary Rosemary, Sasha Tones and Skylar McMilliwood) have to compete against bands of different music genres to play at the Tower of Melodies in the middle of Kitty City!

As this attack also needs context in order to make sense, Mary has been described and shown as being afraid of cats, despite many elements in Maryverse being cat-like in theming or names (such as with Kitty Citty, the Pawprint Amphitheatre, Straycay Suburbs, and the potential name for the Hot Topic-Inspired Shop that Mary works at for her dayjob).

Although the reference image underneath uses the Old Version of PeePee's Design, it is what was used as inspiration for Mary's scared expression, with larger eyes and an alert stance.

The other character who I haven’t referenced yet is marnielovesyouu whenever drawing herself with a sona, who I'd chosen to present in the attack itself as well as in the Artfight Description as being godlike (as she was responsible for creating Maryverse, as well as also having experience in making very good Concept Art for other projects like Andromedia and Vision Crew's Deltarune Takes).

I'm not sure whether she canonically exists in Maryverse, but the two have been drawn together multiple times:

'You haven’t experienced the true joy of creating if you’ve never drawn yourself and your OC having fun'.

'I know you meant the Pokémon Marnie but I scribbled this once…'

So if Marnie does exist in this world, her and Mary definitely seem to be friends (although one of the tags did say about them and how 'We're dating for real' despite both already having partners). But because the earliest version of Mary's Design also being described as a sona before Marnie had her own, it would mean that the Maryverse Version of God is an AU Mary, which would make sense as Mary was the first Cast Member made for the project.

Finally, in regards to the 'FANART FEATURE' segment of the SwilTaett MASTERPOST, the post has now reached its Image Limit, and I'm not able to add any more recent images since mrchaosman's Scamcair and Grimpula Fanart. because of the most recent SwilTaett Fanart, which was also made by butterbee as Revenge for my Patchwork attack in Artfight!

If anybody has a suggestion for how they would want this issue to be fixed, please do say!

Also, I apologize for this being later of an Announcement than it should've been! However, it's because I've been working on a Non-Undertale/Deltarune Theory now that I've been able to interact with the project's creator. It's planned to be a longer post than usual, with two smaller and less theories attached to it underneath the 'Read More'.

Hi so a friend of mine by the name of @locution-youngster-enjoyer did this "WG villains on a road trip" thing and I decided to write out how my OCs would act on said road trip

Silver Boxleitner is freaking everyone the hell out with car crash stories because she likes scaring people. Pretty much everyone is used to her shit by now and is just trying to ignore her. Eventually, she gets tired of it and stops trying to scare everyone, so moves onto something new. Now whoever sits next to her has to listen to her info dump about creepypastas and undertale/deltarune lore.

Cori Worst is just quietly leaning her head against the window. She probably just takes a nap midway through before being shaken awake by Silver because they're going over a bridge or something and it looks cool, then promptly goes back to sleep the moment she can.

Kyle Worst would 100% by there despite not being a villain because Cori is literally raising her brother and can't leave him alone with their parents for that long. He doesn't stop talking. Ever. At all. Cori has him on one of those child leashes. Every one of the villains has to take turns listening to him blabber on and on and on and on and on and HOLY SHIT KYLE'S ABOUT TO THROW UP LESLIE GIVE HIM A PLASTIC WAWA BAG QUICK-

Marleen Everwood, because of her wolf senses, can hear literally everything and everyone talking and also smell everything. Normally, Marleen is an asshole but he's even more rude and irritable than normal because of the sensory overload. She got into a fight with somebody over wanting to sit next to Tobey. He tries to hold Tobey's hand repeatedly throughout the trip and Tobey is just sitting there awkwardly trying to inch his hand away but Mari is even pissier than usual so he's just kind of letting her

Alynxai is basically everyone's emotional support for the trip. Anyone who gets stressed for whatever reason is invited to hold Lynx's hand and pet Snowlulu as much as they want (yall know Lynx would 100% bring her plushie on the trip). Eventually Lynx fall asleep flopped over Rhyme in some really awkward position and wakes up all sore 30 minutes later

Razzle Dazzle attempts to do his makeup in the middle the trip in his seat and it comes out really messy because they were actively moving but nobody says anything to be nice. He keeps making them stop because he has to check every clothing store they come across. He didn't notice his makeup was all fucked up until he was in one of rooms for trying on the clothes and had a mental breakdown over it

Kel - not close anymore, they don't speak often but he will always say hi when seeing him.

Hero - becuse he is at college they don't see each other often but they have exchanged phone numbers and basil calls him often.

Sunny - similar to hero becuse he moved away but still extremely close with him. Basil considers him still to be his best friend. They call often and meet whenever they can. (Honestly he still has a small crush on him)

Mari - he goes to her grave quite a bit to talk to her. Despite everything he still tells her about everyone, what they are up to and how they are getting on. He finds it peaceful talking to her like he used to before the incident.

P5T Story Finale - Part 1

I'm just starting off with the assumption that this will have to be 2 parts, to fit all the pictures I took. XD

So, where we left off, I was doing pretty good.

We'd beaten Metal Marie, and Lavenza had some challenges for us to unlock our final skills. I was kind of hyped, because honestly, it seemed like a good opportunity to get everyone's ultimate personas back. And then Erina could just have whatever.

It was not second awakenings, despite the way they talked about it sounding very second-awakening-ish. Instead, we get a maximum power skill for each Thief's specific element. And, sorry everyone, but Joker's is the coolest.

I also think that it's worth mentioning that when you die, Lavenza quotes Paradise Lost at you.

She also quotes it at the very start of the game, so she's very well-read. Probably Margaret and Theodore's influence; I can't see Elizabeth sitting through a book like that. XDDD

Anyway, Lavenza's challenges were some very elaborate puzzle levels and endurance missions with gimmicks, but nothing that was completely unreasonable. The one where you had to kill everything in one turn by using one-mores and platforms to get Joker to the top of the level to trigger the widest-possible AOA range was awesome. I felt smart when I finished them, which was the important part.

And my reward, other than skills, was......

You have to be level 96 to fuse Satanael, tho, so like... holy fuck, Atlus. Booooooo. And he's got like seven components, which I'm pretty sure he did in P5, but you couldn't fuse him til NG+, so you at least would have had most of them by then. This is just taunting me. Plus, it's not nearly as easy to get money in this. You have to replay missions, and later missions give more money but also take longer, so it seems like it'll be a little tedious to complete the compendium.

ANYWAY.

Metal Yoshiki and Metal Shadow Toshiro went down next, and I'm pretty sure it confirmed that it wasn't actually Toshiro's shadow, just a piece of Salmael masquerading as it. I wasn't... super impressed with these fights? They were basically the same as the first go round, just with more health, more damage, and slightly different arenas. Metal Shadow Toshiro skipped his first round and went right to Giant Scary Eri, so... Yeah. They were fine, I guess.

I did notice something a little funny, though. The final Kingdom is "The Path to God" in the replay menu, and there are six missions (not counting the bosses), each with a letter appended to them.

All six in order spells "A S Y L U M".

If Salmael rules this Kingdom, is he the crazy one, then? :P

So, we are off to the final boss. My goblin kids are ready to beat the shit out of their third god in like... four months? Wow.

Slap him so hard he drops his head, Futaba!

I finally realized what this thing's appearance reminds me of. Some weird fusion of Yald, and the Queen from Deltarune.

He has the SMUGGEST VOICE of any god so far and it just makes me want to hit him harder. Maybe I should have done some grinding for Satanael after all.

He just wants to ~save humanity~, and I'd just like to mention how much I love my wife.

Salmael is totally cool with our disagreement, obviously.

Us? All by ourselves? You think so highly of us~

Salmael says that his actions are the consensus of humanity, so we should just give in. The game gives you an option here between "Our wills are firm" and "Send us back to the real world." Which, if you remember, he offered to send us all home without our powers or memories, so... put a pin in that. We'll be back. In THIS timeline, we tell God to fuck off, as is our wont.

I feel justified in writing Ryuji calling Yaldabaoth "Yald" in an actual fic, now. XD

Seriously, Atlus, one line of dialogue. "We've already beat up a 'god' who thought he knew what was best for us." Call Maruki on his BS.

Anyway, as always, these gods who want peace and happiness and order are willing to murder us. Ooohhhh nooo, I don't waaaaant to use force, you just leave me no chooooooiiiiiice~ Blarg. XD

The battlefield is wild, though. I'm always down for a good giant clock.

The five platforms rotate either forward or back based on a skill that warns you in advance. Platforms that go past the end positions sink into the green, and more arise on the other side to replace them.

So, we wallop the shit out of god while avoiding being tossed into a green abyss. I only lost Toshiro during this stage of the fight, so I still had my three primary fighters and three baton passes.

Salmael, upon being knocked down in round 1, throws a temper tantrum, and... well, I guess calling it "going one-winged-angel" isn't appropriate here. He's still got all his wings, just gets more raggedy and dirty.

But the important part is that he loses the mask and his face is FUCKED UP

He gets two new attacks for this round. The first one is a very Dark Hour-esque clock which leaves numbers on some of the platforms. That's how many people need to be standing on that particular platform to avoid triggering an attack that paralyzes you on your next turn.

Overall, challenging! Especially because the numbers don't rotate with the platforms, so if he does both skills at the same time, you've gotta make sure you're not gonna rotate away from the number you need. (Learned that the hard way.)

The second one is some kind of giant antenna that spawns in the middle of the arena, and you have like... three turns to AOA it before he does some horrible targeted missile barrage. I had the worst time with that. That's how I lost all three of my remaining squad in one turn, because I couldn't get the downed enemy to line up right to allow the AOA.

So we're down Ann, Morgana, and Akira. Welcome to the fight, Haru, Yusuke, and Ryuji!

Salmael's second form has about twice as much health as his first form, which can be mitigated by AOA-ing the antenna, because Futaba can then turn the missiles on him. I only managed that once. X'D But the game REALLY smacked me when it did the clock attack and the arena rotation on the same turn, and the clock was four platforms, each with a 1 on it. I didn't have Toshiro anymore. I couldn't put one person on each platform. So everyone got paralyzed, and the rotation was poised to dump both Haru and Yusuke into the abyss with no way to move them.

It was going to be up to Ryuji to win this fight alone.

...or, it would have been, but as I watched Yusuke sink into the green depths, I realized that... the platform just popped back up on the other side. Yusuke was fine. Didn't even do any damage. X'D I spent the whole fight thinking that if I got sucked down with a platform, that person would just die. But no.

In the end, Haru dealt the final blow, and Salmael took that really well. He just straight up starts taking a swing at us and throwing gears. So I guess we DID slap him so hard he dropped his head!

My baby boy gets to say more than one line of dialogue in this game!

This is the smile of a savior, everyone.

Honestly this last AOA cutscene is wild. I like it better than Scramble's, I think? I need to watch it again, but it's really well done. Halfway through, Erina gets squashed by a whole ton of gears and ends up... I'm assuming drifting in the Sea of Souls, and Toshiro calls her back so she can take her Ernesto form and blast the hell out of Salmael. And then she turns back into Erina and she and Akira slam a flag through Salmael's face. :3

Yeah, yeah. Same as every other monster.

Salmael takes defeat well, of course. By exploding.

And Toshiro catches a brief glimpse of the overwhelming existential dread that knowing about meta-space can cause: namely that humanity is constantly accidentally almost destroying itself.

I like to think that he gets a phone call from the Shadow Ops at some point. XDDDD

Anyway, with Salmael dead, his primary Kingdom is collapsing, so it's time to get the hell out of here. And with this, I have hit the image limit, so... Off we go. Part 2 is next!
