Victoria: I failed my safety training course today.
Edward: Why, what happened?
Victoria: Well, one of the questions was "In case of a fire, what steps would you take?"
Edward: And?
Victoria: Well, apparently "F***ING LARGE ONES" isn't an acceptable answer.

GODPARENTS OF PRINCE KONSTANTIN KONSTANTINOVICH
Prince Konstantin Konstantinovich was born on 1 January 1891 in Saint Petersburg, Imperial Russia. He was the third son and fourth child of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich of Russia and his German-born wife Grand Duchess Elizabeth Mavrikievna. Konstantin was christened on 3 January at 2 in the afternoon at Marble Palace Church, St. Petersburg, by the Confessor of Their Majesties. His godparents were:
ALEXANDER III, EMPEROR OF RUSSIA - his father’s first cousin was named as one of his many godparents. He was highly reactionary in domestic affairs and reversed some of the liberal reforms of his father, Alexander II. He was most likely present at his young cousin’s christening.
GRAND DUKE KONSTANTIN NIKOLAEVICH OF RUSSIA - his paternal grandfather and namesake was one of his numerous godparents. He was the Viceroy of Poland from 1862 to 1863. His real influence on internal affairs after 1868 was insignificant. He was reportedly absent at his grandson's christening, due to his ill health.
CHARLES ALEXANDER, GRAND DUKE OF SAXE-WEIMAR-EISENACH - his parents' distant cousin (as a grandson of Emperor Paul I of Russia) was also named as the young Konstantin's godparent. He was absent at the prince's christening. He was the penultimate ruler of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, from 1853 until his death in 1901.
QUEEN MARIE OF HANOVER - his great-aunt, the last Queen consort of Hanover, was amongst his numerous godparents. She was absent at his christening.
ELISABETH, GRAND DUCHESS OF OLDENBURG - another of his great-aunt named as his godmother. Elisabeth, upon her marriage to the Grand Duke of Oldenburg used the funds given to her by her father to set up the Elisabeth Foundation, which still exists today. Like her sister Queen Marie, she was absent at her great-nephew's christening.
GRAND DUKE ALEXEI ALEXANDROVICH OF RUSSIA - his father's illustrious first cousin was named as the prince's godfather. Chosen for a naval career, Alexei started his military training at an early age. By the age of 20 he had been appointed lieutenant of the Imperial Russian Navy, eventually becoming general-admiral.
GRAND DUCHESS ALEXANDRA PETROVNA OF RUSSIA - his great-aunt, the wife of Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich, was another of his godmothers.A plain, and serious woman, her marriage to Grand Duke Nicholas was an unhappy one. Nevertheless, she would enjoy and maintain a good relationship with a few of her nephews including Emperor Alexander III and Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich, who were sympathetic to her.
GRAND DUCHESS ALEXANDRA GEORGIEVNA OF RUSSIA - his paternal first cousin, the eldest daughter of King George I and Queen Olga, had been present and named as a godparent of Prince Konstantin, who was merely nineteen years her senior. In 1889, she married Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich, the youngest brother of Emperor Alexander III.
GRAND DUKE MICHAEL NIKOLAEVICH OF RUSSIA - his great-uncle was also listed as his godparent, and had been present at the christening. A soldier for most of his adult life, he enjoyed a favourable relationship with the three last Emperors of Russia - his brother Alexander II; nephew Alexander III; and great-nephew Nicholas II.
GRAND DUKE PETER NIKOLAEVICH OF RUSSIA - his father's first cousin was another of his many godparents. He was the younger son of Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich and his wife grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna (also named as a godparent of Prince Konstantin, listed above).
PRINCESS AUGUSTA OF SAXE-MEININGEN - his maternal grandmother was also named as his godmother. In 1862, she married Prince Moritz of Saxe-Altenburg, and bore him five children.
PRINCESS LOUISE CHARLOTTE OF SAXE-ALTENBURG - his maternal aunt, the youngest sister of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Mavrikievna was amongst his numerous godparents. Both Louise Charlotte and her mother Augusta were absent at Konstantin's christening.

King Christian IX of Denmark had three daughters: Princess Alexandra of Denmark (later Queen of United Kingdom) was born in 1 December 1844 Princess Dagmar of Denmark (later Empress of Russia) was born in 26 November 1847 Princess Thyra of Denmark (later Crown Princess of Hanover) was born in 29 September 1853
Princess Alexandra was a personality of an uncommon order. The gracious lady was graciousness itself. She was distinguished, not by any desire to enter into public affairs, but by a kindliness, a generosity, a sympathy with all classes, poor and rich, which endeared her to the whole people.Alexandra shared a draughty attic bedroom with her sister, Dagmar, made her own clothes, and waited at table along with her sisters. Alexandra and Dagmar were given swimming lessons by the Swedish pioneer of women's swimming, Nancy Edberg. At the age of 19 Alexandra married Prince Edward of Wales, the eldest son of queen victoria and Heir of Great Britain throne, Edward loved his wife but was not faithful to his marriage!the result of this marriage was 6 children. 🥰❤️
Dagmar was known for her beauty. Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge said that Dagmar was "sweetly pretty" and commented favorably on her "splendid dark eyes." Dagmar was intelligent, When considered Dagmar for queen victoria's second son Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Queen Victoria judged that "Dagmar is cleverer [than her older sister, Alexandra]... she is a very nice girl." At the age of 19, Dagmar married the Russian Tsesarevich Alexander, after the shocking death of her fiancé Tsesarevich Nicholas, who was Alexander's older brother. The result of their marriage was 6 childrenWhen she married, she didn't know how to speak any Russian. However, within a few years, she mastered the language and was so proficient that her husband, tsar Alexander iii wrote to her in Russian.🥺🤍
Princess Thyra As a child shared a bedroom with her elder sisters, Alexandra and Dagmar, and was taught how to sew and knit her own clothes and socks. Thyra was an attractive and gentle young woman, with dark hair and dark blue eyes, and king Christian and Queen Louise wanted their youngest daughter to make a good marriage as their elder daughters had. Thyra's first suitor was King Willem III of the Netherlands, but as he was thirty-six years older than she was, she rejected him.In her youth, Thyra had fallen in love with Vilhelm Frimann Marcher, a lieutenant in the cavalry, which resulted in a pregnancy. Her brother George I of Greece suggested that she have the baby in Athens to avoid scandal; the Danish press was told Thyra had been taken ill with jaundice. At the age of 25, Thyra married Ernest Augustus, Crown Prince of Hanover, and the result of this marriage was 6 children.🤩💗

Royal Godparents to Royal Godchildren
I did this list back in 2012, and got some great responses. I've updated and edited parts of the list. Again, any corrections and/or adds, message me! Thanks in advance!
When choosing godparents for their children, the parents often chose friends or other relatives. Often in royal circles, royals also pick other royals. Here’s a partial list. (Yes, I know some lists are incompelte as some of these royals’s godchildren are not royals themselves.) If you have any additions, please feel free to message me!

Alexandra of Denmark (Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louise Julia; 1 December 1844 – 20 November 1925) was Queen of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Empress of India from 22 January 1901 to 6 May 1910 as the wife of King-Emperor Edward VII.
—
Maria Feodorovna (26 November 1847 – 13 October 1928), known before her marriage as Princess Dagmar of Denmark, was Empress of Russia from 1881 to 1894 as the wife of Emperor Alexander III.
She was the second daughter of Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Kassel.
Maria's eldest son became the last Russian monarch, Emperor Nicholas II.
Maria lived for 10 years after Bolshevik functionaries murdered Nicholas and his immediate family in 1918.
—
Princess Thyra of Denmark (Thyra Amalie Caroline Charlotte Anna; 29 September 1853 – 26 February 1933) was the youngest daughter and fifth child of Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Kassel.
In 1878, she married Ernest Augustus, the exiled heir to the Kingdom of Hanover.
As the Kingdom of Hanover had been annexed by Prussia in 1866, she spent most of her life in exile with her husband in Austria.
—
Christian IX (8 April 1818 – 29 January 1906) was King of Denmark from 15 November 1863 until his death in 1906.

Queen Charlotte had 9 siblings all together, she was the 8th of 10 children born to her parents. Of those 10 children, 6 survived to adulthood.
First was Christiane, the eldest child. She never married and became a canoness later in life.
Next was Adolphus Frederick IV, who succeeded their uncle as Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. He never married or had children, and was himself succeeded by his younger brother Charles.
Charles II was the next surviving child, and became Duke after his brother died childless. He would marry twice, with his descendants becoming part of the Royal Houses across Europe
Duke Ernest Gottlob was the seventh child, born two years before Charlotte. He was said to have fallen in love with the heiress Mary Bowes (An ancestor of the Queen mother) but no marriage took place. He became a military governor in Hanover, and would attempt to marry once more later in his life to settle his debts, but this came to nothing as well.
Duke George Augustus was Charlotte's only surviving younger sibling. He moved to Great Britain and served two years in the Royal Navy, also obtaining his doctorate in legal studies. He would later serve in the Austrian army under Maria Theresa, being promoted to the rank of Brigadier general. Like two of his brothers, he remained unmarried, and he passed away in his late 30s.
A daughter name Caroline was born between Christiane and Adolphus, but died the day of her birth.
After Adolphus, two more daughters were born. Elisabeth Christine who died a few days before her second birthday, and then Sophie Louise who died about 3 months before her second birthday.
Between Charlotte and George, another son named Gotthelf was born, but he only lived for two days.

Couple weeks ago I posted a little Red White and Royal Blue fic, and the other day I made a royal family family tree with, yes, the extra members I referred to in it, but also (obvs) those who appear in the book and the movie, and I think it can be made to comply with either canon with only a small number of slight adjustments.
Readers who are not interested in my fic will disregard everyone on the right side of the diagram, beginning with Princess Louise b. 1964 and all the way to the edge of the page. But otherwise, reading from the bottom up, check it out:
The film calls Philip Duke of Cambridge, but the book seems to suggest Cambridge is what Henry will be created duke of when he marries, so I gave Philip the dukedom of Kendal instead. (The film also makes Henry the middle child, so swap them round if you want.)
I believe making Catherine the Princess of Wales and her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh works for both the film and the book; in the book Henry says they all used Wales as a surname at school, but even if a monarch with no sons created their eldest daughter Princess of Wales they wouldn’t make her husband Prince of Wales, so Arthur can be imagined to have accepted the dukedom of Edinburgh out of necessity—so when film!Henry tells the kids in the oncology ward that his mother is the Duchess of Edinburgh, he’s not wrong (I mean, why would he get his own mother’s title wrong, but you know what I mean).
I’ve made Henry’s grandparents James and Mary so they can be either King James III (shown here) as in the film or Queen Mary III as in the book. (She wasn’t numbered in the book, but there have been two Queens regnant Mary, so.) I threw in John II for book!Henry when he yells at Philip that they had a great-uncle who abdicated because he was a Nazi; he’d have had to abdicate because he had been a Nazi or else he’d have had to have been much older than James Or Mary, but that’s fine. Lop him off the tree if you’re film-only and don’t care about that line in the book.
Take the previous generation or leave it; I needed that layer to get the extant Cumberlands into the royal family whose schedules Alex was looking up, but they’re not necessary for the film or the book, so it’s fine to stretch the generations out a few years if you like and make Helena Victoria the kids’ great-grandmother rather than great-great; then you can give her husband whichever surname you prefer, Mountchristen (book, and assume it hyphenated with Windsor after the royal family changed it to Windsor in WWI as happened in real life) or Hanover-Stuart (film, and I think that name had to come back in from outside, because in a world that has the Victoria and Albert Museum the Hanover and [especially] Stuart dynasties were both long gone).
Queen Helena Victoria is the furthest-back person I invented myself; I made her the matriarch of this fictitious (counterfactual, nonhistorical, whatever) royal family by suggesting that in RWRB world (a) Prince Albert Victor, the eldest son of Edward VII, did not die in 1892 as he did in ours and (b) Edward VII himself did die of the appendicitis that in our world only delayed his coronation ceremony by a few months. That gives us a solid year of Edward VII cementing the role he’d pretty well established for the whole royal family in his long tenure as Prince of Wales (he really instituted the “appearance” as we now know it) but gets him out of the way eight years earlier than in real life to make way for his fictitious heirs.
I have allowed this Prince Albert Victor, who isn’t dead after all, to marry his true love, Hélène of Orléans, who I assume in this timeline was allowed to convert to C of E to marry him rather than forbidden by both her father and the Pope to leave the Catholic church. That being the case, it could be that his younger brother Prince George—known to the real world as George V—would have married Mary of Teck (who in real life had, before she married George, been engaged to Albert Victor at the time of his death) and had the same children and grandchildren he had in real life, only nobody cares? But even more likely is that Mary of Teck never entered into the matter, because Albert Victor married Hélène so Mary wasn’t called for, and this fictitious spare George married Marie of Edinburgh, whom he proposed to first. Or maybe he died young, rather than surviving typhoid as he did in real life in 1892 around the same time pneumonia got his brother. In any event, given a surviving Albert Victor, George’s descendants would be as peripheral by now to the fictitious royal family as the descendants of Victoria’s younger children are to the real one. (That is, it’s probably been enough generations that they could marry back in, but otherwise, pfft.)

Some additions from "Die Geheimpolizei auf dem Wiener Kongress", page 307f:
22 December - (*-*)
Yesterday, as every Wednesday, there was a soiree at Sidney Smith's after the theatre, where twice as many people attended as the quarters, consisting of two rooms, can hold. Some of the party, according to London custom, remained in the servants' room or on the staircase. They regretted immensely the departure of Demoiselle Bigottini, who still has a lawsuit with Joel about 1000 ducats for tailor's fees. They dwelt endlessly on the fact that all the theatres in Vienna are in such a very bad state at present. They speak of the fact that the Prince Regent, the Duke of York and the Prince of Orange have become Austrian field marshals, that Orange has received the Hohenlohe regiment, that the Prince of Orange will marry our Archduchess Leopoldine.
Colonel Count Latour [of the Kingdom of Würtemberg] said yesterday: "I know for certain that Lord Castlereagh is in a very great embarrassment in Vienna. He had arrived in Vienna with instructions to allow Prussia to annex Saxony and to enlarge and consolidate Hanover. However, presumably because of the opposition in Parliament, he received the diametrically opposed instruction a few weeks ago not to admit Saxony to Prussia in any way. Now Lord Castlereagh has had to destroy his first introduction at the Congress itself and establish entirely new principles, an entirely new basis. That is what is holding up the progress of the Congress."
Yesterday it was assured that everything is now settled with the Russian Emperor as regards Poland; as regards Saxony, an understanding will easily be reached with Prussia. - The envoys Bildt (Sweden), Türkheim, Gagern and Plessen complained very bitterly yesterday about the quite inadmissible exaggerated ultramontane principles and claims which Cardinal Consalvi is putting forward with regard to the German Concordat, which the Austrian Ministry seems to support, but which are of such a nature that nothing can be achieved in (ecclesiastical) matters.
All the legations of the old princely houses were extremely outspoken against Prussia. They say: ‘In 1813, Prussia had put up the banner of the German national spirit in order to gain a following; in 1814, Prussian greed shines through on all sides, etc.’. Prussia is exclusive with Russia, has concluded a secret convention with Russia, which it does not publish; Prussia is a traitor to the cause of Europe [presumably erroneously for ‘Germany’] and to the cause of the balance of Europe; against Prussia, as against Russia, the storm bell of Europe and of Germany must be rung’.
Prince Clary also has a lot to say about the true madness of the Russian Emperor, who does not allow any civilian to enter, but will open the ‘doubles battants’ to any ensign, who never dines at home in St Petersburg, never comes home before 4 o'clock in the morning. They say: The vie privée of Emperor Alexander is something quite unbelievable.
Now there's some gossip for you. The Prince Clary must be the same who has left some funny correspondence about the marriage of Marie Louise in 1810.
