Just need like a virgin Piña Colada or something and I'll be set
Um! So! Now that Baryon's all evolved (and taller than me -_-) we're gonna head to the Coastal Biome and. Hang out I think. 👍 maybe swim (by swim I mean ride on Baryon's back or something)
#should hang out in the coastal biome some more#this was worth taking a break from studying#...man. beaches. i think i just like beaches. maybe just areas with sand#in lental theres these islands- the maricopia islands- and like#i remember going to blushing beach there as a kid and it was amazing#really hope i can go back there ^^#pkmn irl#pokeblr#pokeblogging#rotomblr#pokemon irl

A further extended, yet still incomplete list of places traveling trainers shouldn't visit:
Dreaded Den of Kitakami - Severity: 6/10
In the center of Kitakami is a fearsome mountain, Mount Oni, reportedly home to a fearsome ogre. However, ogre aside, the path to its supposed home, the Dreaded Den, is one that should not be walked. The only way to the Dreaded Den involves a narrow rock bridge with no guard rails whatsoever. It is far too easy to fall here, and I can't help but wonder if this fall has claimed more lives than this ogre has.
Hidden Trench of Lental - Sevreity: 7/10
Trainers shouldn't be visiting Lental at all, as the entire region is one giant nature preserve. And trainers especially shouldn't go swimming off the coast of the Maricopia Islands. There's currents that can easily pull you down to the seafloor, down to the Hidden Trench. While beautiful, it can be very difficult to find your way back to the surface, especially given how dark it can get. It's best to leave this one to Professor Mirror.
Mount Sorbet of Oblivia - Severity: 8/10
Another region that trainers seeking to battle should avoid, but this mountain in particular is too much for even many rangers. This mountain has extremely frequent avalanches, to the point where one ranger reported encountering five in their trek up the mountain. Don't let yourself be swept away in the snow, and stay away from this mountain.
Delta Epicenter of Holon - Severity: 9/10
This one isn't very dangerous towards humans. But I presume you care about your Pokemon. If you ever travel to the Delta Epicenter, leave your Pokemon at home. The Delta Epicenter is reportedly the source of the Delta phenomenon of the region that causes Pokemon to develop unusual types. Humans are unaffected, but all known Pokemon that went into the Delta Epicenter soon developed serious health issues. Please, keep your Pokemon's safety in mind.
Pasio Prototype - Severity: 10/10
You can't expect to succeed at a lot of things on your first try, but especially not in building an entire artificial region. And if you have an ego the size of a Wailord, and believe you know better than any engineer, it's a recipe for disaster. Pasio wasn't Lear's first attempt at an artificial region. You can barely see the region's prototype if you look into the horizon from Pasio's east coast. Bubbling black ooze, cracks in the sky, and the entire thing is slowly disintegrating. I don't know what legendaries Lear angered with the Pasio prototype, but I hope he's learned his lesson to start listening to people.

Lental Logs 01, Ecosystem of Lental
Lental is an archipelago consisting of four primary island groups. Each island has its own distinct climate and ecosystem. Very few species of Pokemon are found common between islands. Magikarp and Vivillon being the exception, populations of both have been identified on all major islands. My time spent here will be on three of these islands.
The Maricopia Islands are a small island chain that resides above a reef. Most studies here do not focus on the islands themselves, but rather the aformentioned reef and surrounding underwater ecosystem. Notably, the seafloor reaches extreme depths in certain areas. This provides unique oppurtunities for deep sea explorations.
Voluca Island is defined by its volcanic activity. The Fireflow Volcano is an active volcano located to the island's east. To the west are deserts are canyons. Due to the lack of plant life on the island, the species here are highly predatory.
Durice Island is the largest of the islands. It is an arctic desert, consisting of heavy glacial activity and frigid temperatures. The extreme cold here lends itself to Ice type Pokemon. However, other species less adjusted to the frigid temperatures find themselves in the expansive Outaway cave system. Spanning a large area of the western mountain range, Outaway cave is a sprawling cave system stretching deep underground. Interestingly, there is an area of the cave covered in significant amounts of flora. It is believed the light from the rare diamonds here, the same ones that attract the legendary Pokemon Diancie, were able to stimulate the growth of plant life.

Summary Report
Summary report of Lark Aiello (Ranger 5861-2959), regarding the route and pokemon safety of the Laboratory of Natural and Ecological Sciences (LENS).
I, in my capacity as a ranger, have been tasked with assessing the scientific operations and travel routes in use at LENS, with regards to the safety of pokemon and humans, as well as long-term ecological risk. My observations, conclusions, and professional recommendations are detailed as follows:
Route Hazards Several routes used by LENS researchers present more risk of danger to personnel than others. These are:
The Fireflow Volcano
The Maricopia Reef
The Lental Seafloor
The risk posed by the Fireflow volcano is due to it's volcanic nature and risk of eruption. The Maricopia reef route passes very closely to an active whirlpool. And the seafloor route, due to it's depth, has heightened risk in emergency situations.
I recommend altering routes in Maricopia to be further from the whirlpool. I understand route locations and start/end points are somewhat limited, due to needing to be near high-energy sources to use teleportation technology. The protection provided by the NEO-ONE is greater than a human travelling on foot or typical vehicles (In other words, better a risky route in the NEO-ONE than a safer route without the NEO-ONE), but any possible route alterations within these parameters are advised.
The NEO-ONE technology used to travel these routes has well-documented evidence for being able to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures. In case of mechanical failure, I recommend the following precautions: scientists engaged in research on these routes should be given protective gear matching the environment (e.g. fire proximity suits for the Fireflow Volcano, emergency diving equipment for underwater routes) in case of vehicle damage. For underwater expeditions, an emergency dive team should be readied in case of needed rescue.
Shrinking The "Side Path" route in Florio Island utilizes shrinking technology. While there is well-documented attestation that this is painless, and research indicates evidence of no immediate harm, there is still no long-term research on the possible health effects of shrinking a human being, especially repeatedly. Research using shrinking technology should be paused or limited until longitudinal studies of the process are available.
Pokemon Interactions At this time, all research courses involve no direct contact with pokemon, and I encourage this to continue. Interaction with human beings could, in the long term, effect pokemons' behavior and habitats. Interactions such as scans, audio (playing music) or the use of fluffruit should be determined in the planning and development of the research study and determined beforehand. Expert opinion and board review should follow the principles of keeping interactions minimal to what is needed for the research, and is least invasive. In other words, these actions should always happen in a planned and predetermined fashion, rather than a reactive fashion that might reinforce or punish pokemon behaviors. This is especially true with the use of fluffruit. If pokemon begin to associate the NEO-ONE as a source of food, they may habituate to it, stop engaging in typical feeding behaviors, or become aggressive when not fed. As much as possible, it should be obscured that the NEO-ONE is any source of fluffruit, or that any action by pokemon could cause fluffruit to be produced.
Summary I believe it would be best if pokemon in the Lental Region perceived the NEO-ONE and human researchers within it as if they were a large pokemon. One with it's own cry and behaviors, and it's own migration path. It is critical the NEO-ONE not be seen as either prey (a source of food) or predator (a source of danger), but a neutral pokemon in an un-related biological niche (e.g. bouffalant and combee). Scientific studies and ongoing research should be designed with this philosophy in mind.

miraiconnection:

"Hmm, I've seen a whole bunch of 'em," Ash answers, and he pauses to think it over. He gets so lost in thought he stops rowing for a moment, and the Pikachu sitting in his lap has to jump up and stop the oars from falling out of the canoe.
"Oh! The Hoenn region had a really amazing ocean! I got to swim underwater there with a super rare Pokemon called Manaphy!" He leans forward in his excitement as the memory comes back to him, but then he quickly leans back, giving a sheepish smile as he scratches his cheek. He'd gotten a little self-conscious talking about his adventures since he became the World Champion; people tended to act differently around him when they found out how much he'd been through, and that kind of attention wasn't really his style. He wasn't special, he wasn't even a Pokemon Master yet. He was just Ash.
"Piika," Pikachu whines, struggling to hold onto the oars, and Ash grabs them without a word and goes back to rowing.
"What about you, Saya? Was there an ocean near where you used to live?"
~~~~
Pikachu didn't need to worry because their muscle-bound companion, Taiga Kagami, was still rowing at the front. He had taken up a lot of space and this was the biggest canoe they could afford at the Maricopia Pokémon Center which was why Taiga's Arcanine and Saya's Noivern couldn't be out. There wasn't much space for their partners on the canoe.
Saya understood that it must have been difficult for Ash to remember all his adventures. Taiga had noticed Ash seemed awkward whenever he mentioned his adventures. Even though he was a champion, he wasn't arrogant as the hoopsters back in Kanto where he and Ash originated from known as the "Generation of Miracles" and he appreciated that. Still, he couldn't help but be amazed by this kid who was only 6 years younger than him and so was Saya, who was sometimes the mother or big sister figure in their group holding them together when they got reckless despite being as old as Ash.
The three of them had met at the Florio Gym where Ash battled against Riko Aida, the Florio gym leader who specialized in normal type Pokémon. They wanted to watch Ash battle in her in person but she told them to stand on upper level of the gym to announce their goals and Ash himself had to announce his goals before battling her. Taiga's goal was to become a top hoopster and Saya's goal wasn't as glamorous as Taiga's or Ash's, hers was just to get stronger with her Pokémon and see the world. Thankfully, Riko was ok with it and they've been traveling through the Lental region together since then!
"The Hoenn region! I've been there! I agree, I loved the ocean when I was there. I hope I get to go back there one day. I lived in Coumarine City in Kalos, so I was surrounded by ocean every day when I walked around the city since a lot of ships stop near my home city."
Saya turned her head. "What about you Taiga? Was there ocean in Hollywood?"
"Yeah, there was. That's where I learned how to surf! When we get back to the Maricopia Pokémon Center, I wanna rent a surfboard and go surfing. But once we're done rowing, Coach Riko said I should run in the sand barefoot to train for my next hoopster competition."
Blushing Beach and Glowing Crystablooms!
Continued from:
Saya Otonashi hailed from Snowbelle City in the Kalos region and as she traveled, she developed an appreciation for the beauty of the ocean and was now traveling around Lental with Ash Ketchum, the famous champion, and they were rowing near the Blushing Beach. Saya had yet to travel to the Orange Islands and Alola but hoped she would make it to those places one day.
She was helping him row their canoe. They were planning to row around the beach then dock their canoe there.
"It really is! ...Aside from the Orange Islands and Alola, have you been to other regions with beautiful oceans Ash?"
did you know this one weird trick to tell if a wailord is happy?!
🐳🌈
meet wailord 1b1! 1b1 is part of a small pod--just 1b1, 1a2, and wailmers 2b1 and 2b2!
if you look closely, you will see one of the largest species of pokemon making a rainbow because i gave her one single fluffruit :) 1b1's pod is actually a kind of pygmy wailord! many pokemon in maricopia are smaller than in their home regions :) but 1b1 is still big enough to swallow a person, if she werent a picky eater!
youll get there one day, 2b2!
#new pokemon snap#pokeblog rp#pokeblogging#pokemon irl#pokemon#wailmer#waillord#the wailmer in my pinned post is actually 2b1! you can tell the difference because 2b1 is a crybaby :)#2b1 is also a bully! she is next weeks naughty pokemon for bullying pyukumuku.
△ What are you gonna do in Lental?
Oh oh! So the program is for like, youth interested in ecology and wildlife and stuff like that, so we're gonna spend like a few weeks at the research base there! We'll help take photos, analyze data, get to ride around in those little pods, learn about the habitat and climate of the region, and!! Explore!! Get in tune with nature!! I'm looking most forward to seeing Blushing Beach and the Maricopia Reef again- it's my blogs header and all ^^ and the Sweltering Sands!! Oh I'm really looking forward to it :D
...if I get in.
