Summertime writer's ask! 🦋, 🌞, ☁️, 🦩 (if you have one lol I'm just curious) 🍓 and 👒
^_^ Enjoy!
🦋 tell us about your current wip
I always have a few in rotation that I'm thinking about during my day but currently, I've been working on a little character piece about Puck from Glee. I've had my Glee oc Mariana for years and I had a lot of things sketched out and outlined for her but I could never work out where to start writing. I got seized by the idea of what family means to Puck being assigned as an essay question and him scoffing at it but me using that as a way to go inside his head and think about who he considers family. Naturally Mari features a lot and I'm hoping people will also be interested to jump over and read about her too (once I get her fic started also). There are going to be spoilers for Mariana's ending in Puck's fic but hopefully people will be interesting in the journey too.
🌞 favourite character from current wip
Definitely Mariana 😊
☁️ wip you want to write but haven't started yet
I have a few, I'm sure, but the one that springs to mind is All That Glitters, my Gossip Girl fic. Which I haven't started because it breaks continuity with the original show in season five with Blair remaining pregnant with her and Louis' daughter and marrying him, giving birth to their daughter Charlotte, eventually getting divorced, marrying Dan and having Audrey - the deuteragonist of All That Glitters - and Atticus Humphrey but it also doesn't have anything to do with the Gossip Girl reboot and that's not even getting into all the other big characters, including protagonist Lindy, who I still need to brainstorm backstories for. It's a big undertaking.
🦩 wip you hate working on but are too far gone to turn back
Not a specific hate working on it but although I have so many barely started, once started, discontinued wips, what really haunts me the most is when I've posted part of a wip publicly and it's unfinished. My oldest fic like this I think is one I wrote for a Sybil/Branson Downton exchange so maybe that adds an extra layer of pressure to the unfinishedness. I don't know, I do miss that era of community and interacting with fellow Sybil/Branson people on tumblr but I just don't feel hmm seized by the characters anymore at this point in time.
🍓 worst thing you've done to your characters
Um, for Bailey, I a) killed her dad in a car accident; b) had her mom put in a coma from said same car accident; and then c) sent her to live under the care of her Aunt Joyce in Sunnydale.
👒 nicest thing you've done to your characters
Nicest? What nice things do I do? Well, she has to reckon with causing the deaths of twelve hybrids and betraying people who trusted her first but Hayley gets to raise her daughter together with Caroline in a community that supports her and she doesn't die at age 35 due to Klaus' enemies. I think that's pretty nice of me.

1. Lordy, well, I’m fairly certain I’ve been creating ocs for two decades at this point. I think my first ocs were warrior cat ones? In terms of ocs that I actually still remember/work on, well, technically, Anneliese is eleven years old this year given that I begin working on a version of her and her story eleven years ago. However, I say technically because she’s changed a lot since I revamped her starting a year or two ago, new name, new face claim, new personality, etc., so I’m not sure she properly counts. Marie and Hillary are a decade and nine years old respectively, with their stories/trajectories and personalities changing pretty minimally since I first conceived them.
2. Rilla’s comfort food is ythusma’ cake which is a Star Wars dessert I made up. Basically it’s a honey cake made with ginger and hsuberries, a made up berry native to Naboo that look like apricot colored blueberries. According to Rilla, you can tell when hsuberries were grown off-planet as they don’t taste quite right.
3. Anneliese likes pretty much all animals, except snakes, but I think she’s more neutral on bugs? She does think spiders, butterflies and moths, and beetles are pretty neat. Annika is fascinated by honeybees.
4. Picking a favorite is really hard but I think a lunch date with Mariana would be really fun, she’s really smart and knows a ton about different things but she also is friends with all kinds of different types of people so I think she’d have a lot of great stories and be great at making conversation.
5. Best at being on time...as a chronically either late or early person myself, that’s hard. Probably Hillary again.
heya @noratilney! I have you on my card for the OC bingo and I'd love to get to know more about your OCs! Here's some questions:
1. Which OC did you make first? How long ago was that?
2. What's Rilla's go-to comfort food?
3. Do any of your OCs like bugs? If so, what kinds?
4. If you had to pick one, which OC would you most want to go on a lunch date with?
5. Which of your OCs is best at being on-time?

I’m not Jewish yet but some of my ocs are!
Isaac & Emmie Cohen (The Vampire Diaries) - Isaac’s face claim is Sean Berdy and Emmie’s is Elodie Blomfield; Isaac and his dad are also Deaf
Wren Ellis (Wynonna Earp) - I should note that I haven’t worked out a fancast for Wren yet
Mariana Garcia Sandoval (Glee) - Mariana’s face claim is Herizen Guardiola
Lindy Thomas (Gossip Girl) - Lindy’s face claim is Kiernan Shipka
I have some original fiction ocs who are Jewish also but I’m not going to list them here. I would be happy to elsewhere if anyone wants to know though.
I do not have any pagan ocs.

I could absolutely see Nate and Mari bonding over their multiple sisters and Mari and Maya teasing Noah!
Oh? 👀 Tell me more about Mirabelle!
😂 I don’t think Clara would mind talking about it since she never gets to! I could see her maybe getting a little impatient sometimes since she doesn’t have the all answers herself but I think she and Kat would get along well most of the time.
feel free to ignore but since you mentioned crossovers in the tag, maybe one of your glee ocs might get on with my mariana and/or what would your kat patterson think of my clara daniels?
Oh no! I'm always ready for crossovers! 👀 (If you ever get other ideas feel free to send an ask/dm me bc I will be always 👀👀)
Okay so. You're bringing up one of my main obsessions rn. I also have some ocs that I'm developing, but of the ones introduced:
Nate Simmons my beloved. They could bond over their amazing families! (I mean, Mariana doesn't have that many sisters and Nate is the oldest while Mariana is the "middle child" but whatever).
Maya Puckerman. I mean... she's a Puckerman. They could be like sisters! And ofc tell Noah that he's an idiot (affectionately) lol
Mirabelle Ryder. Don't ask me why, I just get vibes from them. (Also, get a little girlfriends vibes from them ngl 👀)
The only thing I know for sure is that Kat would be very interested. Like, she would do her sooo many questions! (Mostly about her ghost-vision tbh). She's amazing at annoying people so I hope Clara is a patient person, bc she could start asking questions like a three years old if she is in the mood (you know the kid-phase of "why?". Sometimes that's Kat)

Hello, nice to meet you
The oc creator bingo sent me
For your five OCs you’re feeling at the moment: what’s one fun/cool fact about each of them?
Hi! Nice to meet you!
Emma - Her favorite animals are birds and one of the first things she does when she arrives in Mystic Falls and starts to settle in is make friends with the local birds. She’s fascinated by the pre-Columbian pigeons native to the area and looks forward to the chance to see species that are extinct by our time. Emma knows a handful of words in Russian and Spanish and so is surprised by how quickly she manages to pick up Old Norse. She discovers that she is allergic to pokeweed while using the berries to dye a dress purple she was making for her sister. Emma really misses pizza, Chinese food, pad thai, pierogi, paella, etc. and wishes she didn’t have to eat pretty much the same stew everyday in her new life.
Abby - Her second middle name is in honor of her dad’s godmother, Magdalena, who single-handedly raised her dad after his parents died but Abby has never met her because she lives in Colombia. The idea of becoming a parent in her teens like her mom terrifies her. Abby loves cozy sweaters and usually goes for comfort over fashion. She wears coconut lime verbena body lotion from bath and body works.
Anneliese - Anneliese loves horror movies which is a surprise to a lot of people when they find out because she’s not particularly brave. She likes to knit and learned to knit, crochet, and sew from her grandmother. Anneliese loves hot chocolate and all manner of sweet things. She’s a big animal lover, pretty much all animals except snakes. Anneliese has a crow named Billie instead of the standard owl. She’s terrible at math.
Victoria - Her grandmother bequeathed her a number of classical Muggle literature books when she died, which kick-started Victoria’s reevaluation of the pureblood belief that wizards = good, muggles = bad. She’s also independently wealthy thanks to the money she inherited from her parents, mainly from her mother’s side. She hates being called anything but Victoria.
Rilla - She is her parents’ only child and related through her dad to the Naberries which is how she got her job as assistant to Senator Pooja Naberrie but Rilla has no interest in politics and not an ambitious bone in her body. She has opinions on all kinds of things that not everyone cares about, like the right order to eat certain foods and which bakery makes the absolute best of a certain kind of baked good. If she lived on Earth here and now, I think she’d definitely be a food and travel blogger.
and I threw in three more just for variety:
Bailey - She loves fairy tales and retellings. Two years ago she and her mom made her a truly epic Ozma costume based on the John R. Neill illustrations for halloween. She loves to bake. As an only child, Bailey does struggle with co-habitating with Buffy and sharing a room.
Mariana - Mariana wants to be a serious stage actress, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company would be dream come true. She once put milk in the electric kettle and ruined it and no one will let her forget it, least of all her younger sister Antonia. Her other dream would be playing soccer on a professional level and going to the Olympics.
Megan - She moved to the Gold Coast from Singapore and before that lived in New Zealand, San Francisco, and Taiwan. Megan likes to make her own clothes (or at least modify them) and her favorite model is her younger sister Sophie. She loves to take photographs.
