ooc | George & Marguerite
kate!!!! there’s so much here to talk about!!!!!
so I feel like I’m going to forget a bunch of things I meant to ask you here (it’s been a long day!!) but this will, at least, get us started!
okay so ... george is great at coming off as being the opposite of ambitious! and he definitely acted like he didn’t ~want~ the position of advisor when nick first asked him but eventually he came around b/c everyone “convinced him” that he would be great in that role and would help serve all of valeria. plus, he was born a commoner/a man of the people and can give insight into that world that someone like margot or nick would never have otherwise!!!
ofc, he never, ever meant to nOT take it, he just likes keeping up this charade that he’s a better person than he is & he’s nothing if not patient!!!
i’m not 100% sure when he started falling for margot romantically, but I do think that his strategies have def changed with that realization b/c he has only eVER looked out for himself and now he’s starting to look out for the welfare of others, too!
george: i’m having feelings again! like some fourteen-year-old kid or something!! i mean, you remember feelings right?
everyone else: ... yeah. i have feelings every single day of my life.
anyway! george looks out for the people he cares about (aka the staffords and literally no one else) in unhealthy ways haha which generally means he’s gonna do things behind her back that he knows she wouldn’t be okay with to make certain problems just ~go away~. I’m not sure of an exact example, but I do know if Margot knew any of it, she would be furious and george would 1000% lose his post (if not his life!!) but george is noTHING if not super careful and he def employs the ~man behind the man behind the man~ ideology b/c he’s noT going down for literally any of this haha!!!
okay, so my main questions are ... do you think 1) george knows about margot’s abilities (i may have asked you this already, but I can’t remember!) 2) if he does, does she know he knows??? (i feel like george does a lot of spying on people #whoops) and 3) if she knows that he knows ... how did he find out? was it by mistake? did she tell him????? (I can see where he may have discovered it on his own and then said whatever he thought she might want to hear until she confessed it to him????)
AND secondly ... I do feel like he had been slowly planting the idea in her head that she needed to get rid of her dad. Initially, it was just to get her dad out of the way, but as he started to care for her, it was (in his mind) also for her own good!!!! But I can see where it might have been something they planned together/he potentially helped with????? I’m honestly cool w/ it either way????
ALSO, I do think that george knows exactly where nick is, and is keeping tabs on him!!! And he would def share that info w/ margot if she knows that he knows about everything ... otherwise, he’s obviously keeping it to himself!

NORA COOPER - TAKEN BY KATE Age: 26 Portrayal: Willa Fitzgerald Alliance/Occupation: Loyalist/Baker Relationships: Thomas Cooper (brother), Nicholas Stafford (deceased secret fiancé), Laura Harris, Maria King (best friends), Roy Cooper, Irene Cooper, Nancy Cooper (cousins), Virginia Wood (new friend), Charles Calvert, Louisa Wilson (friend)
went to work for the staffords when she was eight as a scullery maid at the palace
tbh she was in complete!!!! awe!! of her position there and was proud that she was able to serve the royal family (even in this small capacity!)
nora had been reluctant to leave home with an ill mother, a little brother, and a father who was often away but she knew that they needed the extra income more than they needed an extra set of hands at home
nora loved her father, but she never understood what could be so important to take him away from his family so often (he never could seem to provide any of them with a straight answer)
one day he left and never came back
several months later, word reached them that he was dead
the coopers never did discover that he had given his life so that others could live and that he was a secret moralist who aided fleeing witches and their families
he raised his children as loyalists to protect them …. although he one day meant to tell them the truth, when they were old enough (unfortunately, that day never came)
soon after, her mother died, too, leaving nora and her brother on their own
while working at the palace, nora met and fell in love with nicholas stafford!
she was rather wary of him, at first, because of his reputation and all the other girls warned her that he would likely to love her and leave her
but slowly he broke through her defenses and she started to fall in love
they kept it all a secret - but nicholas had promised her that one day, he would renounce his claim to the throne and go and live a more simple life with her
as long as his father lived, however, it could never be … he would not allow for his only son and heir to give up everything for a kitchen maid
of course, the king had other plans for nicholas, but he promised her that he would never marry anyone else but her
and as soon as his father died, he would go to margot - who he knew would be a much better queen - and tell her everything
but then nicholas died - breaking nora’s heart!
she doesn’t think she could ever love anyone else again!!!
she’s also discovered that she may be pregnant and she’s terrified about what to do about it or how to explain it
so she’s recently resigned from her post and returned home where she’s trying to reestablish the old bakery her parents used to run, hoping she can make it somewhat profitable if and when she has a child w/o a man to help support her
she’s told her brother, tom, everything, and he’s determined to look out for his sister and his future niece or nephew, whatever happens

Flora’s Flowers | Cordelia & Flora
“Goodness, you have been busy!”
Her sitting room had been adorned with dozens of flower arrangements, each lovelier and more elegant than the last. Cordelia supposed she should have expected this, when she'd agreed to let Flora select some potentials.
How am I to choose?” She asked, considering each one in turn, trying to supress the sudden overwhelming feeling that began to settle in. Cordelia had agreed to the marriage, wholeheartedly (it was the right thing to do for Valeria; it was the right thing to do for Margot) and yet it hadn’t seemed real, somehow, until now when the preparations were being made right before her eyes.
There would be time, later, to digest these feelings. For now, she would put on a smile for her friend. Before her father’s death, no one wondered what Cordelia Stafford was thinking or feeling, but since then she’d quickly learned that her emotions must be repressed if she was going to provide the proper support for her sister.
“I think you must have always been destined to plan my wedding,” Cordelia smiled, fingers tracing the petals of a rose as she inspected the arrangement closest to her, “You’ve more ideas for the flowers than I think I could have had for the entire ceremony!” She laughed, “And we both know that you were certainly destined to plan your brother’s, but who could have guessed that they would have been one and the same?”
Certainly not Cordelia, herself, who had always considered Edward to be insufferable (and even more so knowing how he was with Flora - he was capable of being a much better man and yet he had somehow gotten it into his head that no one else deserved even a small fraction of the consideration he gave his sister).

i dont know if you already answer this question, but here i am asking, lets say that after winds of winter, that house lannister is compleatly wiped out,who rules the westerlans?,who do you think became the second most powerful house in the westerlans after the raynes were killed by tywin over 20 years ago?who is their new rival in the west, because when you destroy an enemy some one else takes their place.
I really doubt the entire House Lannister is going extinct by the end of the books. The (legitimate) line of Tytos is certainly in danger of that, of course: I have no hope for any of Tywin’s children surviving the series, Lancel I think has a good chance of dying in TWOW, I don’t know that Martyn and Janei are necessarily safe, and if Varys plans on installing Tyrell as a puppet Lord of Casterly Rock under Aegon, well, the jade holocaust isn’t going to do him any favors either. But even if all (again, legitimate - I’ll hope Joy survives) descendants of Tytos die out, there are still the descendants of Jason Lannister: Damion and his son and grandchildren, the children of Stafford, and any descendants of Jason and Marla’s four other children. That, in turn, only encompasses the heirs of Gerold Lannister; our specific knowledge of the lineage of House Lannister only goes back to Gerold’s father, Damon “the Grey Lion”. To what extent there are other Lannisters descended from kinsmen of Damon alive today (that Margot Lannister who married Titus Peake came from somewhere) is unknown. (This, of course, is not even taking into account the Lannisters of Lannisport; as very early breakaways from the line of Lann the Clever, they would ordinarily have no intelligible claim whatsoever to Casterly Rock, but in an apocalyptic scenario where the whole Lannister succession came into question, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lannisters of Lannisport made some push based on their name and (distant) shared lineage.)
As far as the second most powerful House of the Westerlands after the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion … eh. It’s really not even much of a question anymore, given the events of the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion; turns out when your overlord completely exterminates two rebellious Houses down to the last man, there’s not a huge desire among the remaining vassals to challenge the overlord’s place. If I had to guess, maybe House Crakehall? The Crakehalls are old Westerlands blood, and were sufficiently trusted as a western power by Tywin to have Jaime squire there in his youth.

Think the anon might’ve made an error -- Margot isn’t described as a “distant” cousin in her sole appearance, which is in the appendix of ASOS:
That Margot is listed at about the same level as Damion suggests a similar degree of family, and Damion is the son of Damon, Tywin’s first cousin (via Jason’s first wife Alys Stackspear). As Stafford’s daughters are both named and unmarried, that makes the chances of Margot being one of these unnamed daughters of Jason a little more likely, no? Though tbf she could easily be be a daughter of one of Jason’s unnamed sons. Being about Daven’s age would make her easily marriage-age for Lord Peake...
(not that marriage age matters much, sigh, but you know what I mean.)
After looking at the Lannister family tree it says Margot Lannister is a distant cousin to the main branch of House Lannister. Do you think that it’s most likely that Margot Lannister is one of the two unnamed daughters of Jason Lannister and Marla Prester and therefore a sister to Joanna?
What you’re describing is not "a distant cousin" though. That’s a first cousin to Tywin, and an aunt to C, J, and T in the scenario suggested. No, I don’t think it’s likely. I think distant cousin means third, fourth, etc cousin.
#asoiaf#asoiaf meta#house lannister#margot lannister#family trees#btw i checked and although titus peake is a gormenghast reference there doesn't seem to be any margot in it#so we just have a lovely french name in asoiaf for no reason lol grrm

All of the Sleek, Straight Hairstyle Inspiration You Need
Over the years, I have dedicated a lot of time and energy to finding a quick and easy way of achieving just-rolled-out-of-bed curls. You see, my hair is naturally poker straight. It's so straight, in fact, that trying to get it to hold any kind of curl is virtually impossible. Needless to say that this whole situation has meant that trying to keep my hair tousled has proved a little difficult, to say the least. However, I've noticed a return to straightened looks that remind me of the days when GHDs first launched. From some of my favourite celebrities to the fashion girls that I love following, it seems as though people are starting to dig out their hair straighteners. The best part? They actually look chic. Unlike the shapeless styles of yesteryear, the new straight is voluminous and sleek but with some movement. And it might seem like an odd thing to say, but I'm desperate to dive right in and dust off my trusty hair straighteners, because although my hair is naturally straight, nothing gives it that sleek sheen quite like a pair of straightening irons. A quick whizz over with my go-to GHD Platinum+ Styler (£175) and a spritz of Lee Stafford Shine Head Spray (£6) is all I need for the smoothest, sleekest hair going. If you've yet to be fully convinced by the straight-hair trend and are not quite ready to switch your tongs for irons, keep scrolling for sleek, straight hairstyles that just might be enough to sway you. Margot Robbie Photo: GETTY IMAGES Stick a fork in me. Margot's sleek, side-parted bob is impossibly chic. The flicked-out ends give a retro twist that I'm kind of obsessed with. Naomi Campbell Photo: GETTY IMAGES Long, luscious, sleek and not a hair out of place. I expect only the best from Queen Naomi. Zendaya Photo: GETTY IMAGES It's rare to see Zendaya without her curls, but this centre-parted super-straight look is equally as gorgeous. Lucy Hale Photo: @LUCYHALE Lucy Hale's side-parted bob is giving off seriously chic Royal Tenenbaums vibes. A single hair slide is a perfect touch. Viktoria Rader Photo: @VIKYANDTHEKID There's no doubt that the blunt bob is having a moment right now, but the way that Viktoria's bob is shaped around the face puts this style high on my inspiration list. Jessica Chastain Photo: @RENATOCAMPORA While I'm a huge fan of a full fringe with tousled hair, Jessica Chastain's layered lob proves it works just as well with straight hair. Amanda Brugel Photo: @JUSTINEMARJAN The messy ponytail has had its day—it's time for the super slicked-back pony to step into the limelight. Barbara Malewicz Photo: @ASOS_BARBARA This slicked-back, flicked-out bob is the low maintenance hairstyle I need to add to my need-to-try list ASAP. Naomi Watts Photo: @RENATOCAMPORA I bet Naomi's centre-parted blonde bob looks just as good with a loose wave as it does poker straight, but this sleek style is perfect for more formal occasions. Sabrina Carpenter Photo: @JENNIFER_YEPEZ Wearing your long, blunt cut super-straight is one of the most wearable styles going. A dry oil spray will up the shine and keep flyaways in place. Zina Charkoplia Photo: @ZINAFASHIONVIBE There is something wonderfully simple and chic about the way that Zina has tucked her straight hair behind both ears. Adria Arjona Photo: @RENATOCAMPORA Adria's simple style might be poker straight, but it's still full of movement. Symphani Soto Photo: @SYMPHANISOTO I love the way that the flicks at the end of this straight 'do go in different directions for that blow-dry effect. Kaia Gerber Photo: @KAIAGERBER Kaia is the queen of the straight blunt bob, and no one is about to take her crown. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Photo: @ROSIEHW Rosie's hair might be sleek and straight, but it certainly doesn't lack volume. Kim Seidensticker Photo: @KIMSEIDENSTICKER I love the way that Kim accessorises her straight lob with a padded headband. Helen-Jayne Photo: @STYLESTRUCTURE Helen-Jayne's deep brunette hair is almost impossibly chic thanks to this simple, straight style. Miss Enocha Photo: @MISSENOCHA Everything about this sleek bob and embellished hair slide combination is fabulous. Martha Hunt Photo: @LAURAPOLKO Martha's mid-length style is so simple. I'm annoyed that I haven't tried it before. Saoirse Ronan Photo: @KARAYOSHIMOTOBUA I wonder if Saoirse Ronan has ever had a bad hair day. Unlikely. Ciara Photo: @CIARA Ciara's centre-parted locks provide a standard of chic that I can only aspire to have. Priyanka Chopra Photo: GETTY IMAGES While I do love Priyanka's usual tousled look, this straight style is equally beautiful. Next up, 21 looks that prove boring centre partings have never been chicer.

GEORGE MARTIN - TAKEN BY LIZZY Age: 37 Portrayal: Edward Norton Alliance/Occupation: Neutral/Royal Advisor Relationships: Nicholas Stafford (former pupil), Marguerite Stafford (queen/interest), Cordelia Stafford, Genevieve Stafford (friends), Clarence Calvert, Howard Calvert, Alexander Lambton (enemies), Cecil King (childhood best friend)
grew up with nothing!!!
dad was a drunk and his mom wasn’t around
has always been suPER SMART!!!!
high level of street smarts as a kid and could honestly con you out of anything!!!! (if he couldn’t just use his remarkable slight of hand to pick your pockets)
wanted to get a better life and climb as high as he could
with money he stole, he eventually enrolled himself in a boarding school for young boys where he gained book smarts, too
did well for himself there and went on to be a teacher and then, eventually, nicholas stafford’s private tutor
nicholas trusted him with eVERYTHING and meant to make him his advisor once he was king
has always been super diplomatic and is honestly a great mediator
keeps a cool head under pressure
nEVER gets emotional
what’s his secret??? he really doesn’t care!!!
tbh his job was never about helping people or serving the crown ... it was just a stepping stone on his path to wealth and power
while being nicholas’s right hand, he became close friends with his sister margot, and with that friendship he saw some opportunity
he knew that margot worried about the future of her country in the hands of her father and, upon his eventual death, her brother too
for a very long time, he slowly edged her towards the idea that she could do a better job than either of them
all she had to do, was get rid of them both
when george discovered that margot was secretly a sorceress, it made things even easier
with margot on the throne, george knew he’d be her advisor and perhaps, she might even marry him
what george did nOT count on, was falling for margot along the way!!!!
in fact, he cares for all of the staffords!!!
but doesn’t really care about anyone else or the rest of valeria tbh and his end game is really only to make sure that the staffords are safe and happy and the rest of the country could starve for all he cares
has definitely gone behind margot’s back before to take care of problems ~his way~
the king of manipulation!!!!
knows what you want to hear
can be super charming and witty
dry sense of humor
NOT a fan of alexander lambton for a lot of reasons!!!
does trust that alexander will eventually ruin this opportunity for himself, however, without much intervention from george

Escape | Cordelia & Ben
Cordelia wandered the dim halls of the library, absentmindedly tracing the her fingers across the spines as she went. If you were to ask her, she would have told you that she was eagerly exploring her uncle’s collection of books but, in truth she was too distracted to pay them much attention and had only used it as an excuse to temporarily escape the present company.
It was a small party: Clarence had extended an invitation to the Staffords and their royal guest, but Margot was unable to attend (which meant Cordelia and Genevieve had been forced to share a carriage with Alexander Lambton alone en route. Cordelia was dreading the trip home when he had had several glasses of brandy in him).
She’d hoped to at least enjoy her cousins’ company, but neither Anna nor Charles were there (Anna having caught a cold and Charles having had a previous engagement with Henry Craven) which left Rose as only other reasonable person in the room besides her own sister. Cordelia didn’t wish to interrupt their private conversation nor did she wish to continue listening to Howard, Alexander, and Clarence say another word on anything and so ... here she was.
Luckily, no one seemed too concerned that she was off elsewhere and no one had come looking for her. She’d assumed that she was alone but when she turned the corner, she collided with someone else and, all of a sudden, a wave of cold water and ice rushed over. Cordelia gasped, tightening from the shock of the sudden and unexpected cold. She looked up to find the source and saw that an awkward and rather confused looking servant had been the culprit.
He stood before her, speechless and unmoving, clutching a now empty pitcher of water in his hands. Had it been wine, she might have scolded him for his carelessly, but it was only water (it would dry) and, what’s more, it gave her an excuse to delay her return. She wanted to laugh when she realized that standing here, dripping wet in the dead of winter, was far preferable than most of the company she had left behind.
“You’d better be thankful it was me you spilled water on and not one of your mater’s other guests,” She teased, eyeing him, wondering how someone like this had managed to gain employment for her uncle, at all. “What are you doing here?” She asked - he was most likely wanted in the dining room as preparations were being made for dinner. “Are you lost?” She paused, smiling mischievously “Or are you hiding, too?”

"HIDDEN FIGURES" (2016) Review
"HIDDEN FIGURES" (2016) Review In all my years of reading about the men and women who worked at NASA, whether in the air or on the ground, I have only come across two people who people of color. And both were astronauts. Not once did those articles ever reveal the numerous African-Americans who worked at NASA - including those women who worked as mathematicians (Human Computers) for NASA during the Space Race between the 1950s and 1970s. Imagine my surprise when I learned that 20th Century Fox Studios planned to distribute a movie based upon the 2016 non-fiction book, "Hidden Figures". Written by Margot Lee Shetterly, the book focused on three NASA mathematicians - Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. Even before the movie was finally released, a NBC series called "TIMELESS" aired an episode set during the Apollo 11 mission that featured one of the movie's main characters - Katherine Johnson. In the midst of all of this, I found myself anticipating the movie. As I had stated earlier, "HIDDEN FIGURES" began in early 1961 in which mathematicians Katherine Johnson and Dorothy Vaughn, along with aspiring engineer Mary Jackson; are working at NASA's West Area Computers division of Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia with minimum satisfaction. Dorothy, who works as an unofficial supervisor of the black women who served as Human Computers, requests to be officially promoted to supervisor. Her request is rejected by her supervisor, Vivian Mitchell. Mary identifies a flaw in the experimental space capsule's heat shields. Space engineer Karl Zielinski encourages her to aggressively pursue a degree in engineering for a more substantial position at NASA. In order to attain a graduate degree in engineering, Mary would have to take the required courses in math and physics from a University of Virginia night program being taught at the all-white Hampton High School. After the Soviet Union manages to send a successful Russian satellite launch, pressure to send American astronauts into space increases. Vivian Mitchell assigns Katherine to assist Director Al Harrison's Space Task Group, due to her skills in analytic geometry. Katherine becomes the first African-American woman to work with the team and in the building. But her new colleagues are initially dismissive of her presence on the team, especially Paul Stafford, the Group's head engineer. The movie focuses on the three women's efforts to overcome bigoted attitudes and institutional racism to achieve their goals at NASA. "HIDDEN FIGURES", like any other historical drama I have ever seen or read, is mixture of fact and fiction. Some of the movie's characters are fictional. And Allison Schroeder and director Theodore Melfi may have mixed up the dates on some of the film's events. But as far as I am concerned, this did not harm the movie. More importantly, Schroeder and Melfi created a screenplay that maintained my interest in a way that some films with a similar topic have failed to do. In other words, "HIDDEN FIGURES" proved to be a subtle, yet captivating movie. The movie's subtle tone manifested in the racism encountered by the three women. Katherine Johnson dealt with the Space Task Group's quiet refusal to take her seriously via minor pranks and dismissive attitudes. She also has to deal with Paul Stafford's constant stream of complaints, skeptical comments and attempts to take credit for her work. Worst of all, Katherine is forced to walk (or run) several miles back to her old building in order to use the restroom, due to the Space Task Group's restrooms being off-limits to non-whites. Dorothy Vaughn is determined to become the official supervisor for the segregated West Area human computers. But due to her race, her supervisor - Vivian Mitchell - refuses to consider giving Dorothy a genuine promotion. The most subtle example of racism found in the movie manifested in Mary Jackson's desire to return to school and attain a graduate degree in engineering. The racism she faced seemed to be internal. Despite urgings from both her husband and Mr. Zielinski, Mary seemed reluctant to request permission from the Virginia courts to attend a segregated school in order to obtain a graduate Engineering degree. Subconsciously, she seemed to believe that her efforts would be wasted. The fascinating thing about the racism that the three women faced is that violence of any kind was not involved. The racism that they faced was subtle, insidious and nearly soul-crushing. But no violence was involved. The closest they came to encountering violence occurred when a law officer stopped to question them, while Dorothy's car was stranded at the side of the road in the movie's opening scene. The cop eventually escorted them to the Langley Research Center after learning they worked for NASA. Yet, I could not help but feel that the entire scene seemed to crackle with both humor, intimidation and a little terror, thanks to Theodore Melfi's direction. Despite my admiration of Melfi's direction of the above-mentioned scene, I have to admit that I would not regard it as one of the best things about "HIDDEN FIGURES". I am not stating that I found his direction lousy or mediocre. If I must be honest, I thought it was pretty solid, aside from that opening scene, which I found exceptional. "HIDDEN FIGURES" was his third feature-length film as a director . . . and it showed. I suspect that the movie benefited more from its subject matter, screenplay and its cast. I certainly had no problems with the movie's production values. Despite the movie being set in Northern Virginia, it was shot in Georgia. And Mandy Walker's sharp and colorful photography certainly took advantage of the location. And thanks to Wynn Thomas' production designs, Missy Parker's set decorations, and Jeremy Woolsey's art direction, I felt as if I had been transported back to Hampton, Virginia, circa 1961. I can also say the same about Renee Ehrlich Kalfus' costumes, which I felt had accurately reflected the characters' personalities and social class, as shown in the images below:
Only one cast member from "HIDDEN FIGURES" had received any acting nominations. Octavia Spencer received both an Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Personally, she deserved it. I thought Spencer gave a very subtle, yet commanding performance as the group's aspiring supervisor, Dorothy Vaughn. I was also impressed by Janelle Monáe, who not only gave a very entertaining performance as the extroverted and witty Mary Jackson, but also did an impressive job in conveying her character's self-doubts about pursuing an Engineering graduate's degree. I am surprised that Taraji P. Henson did not received any major acting nominations for her performance as NASA mathematician Katherine Goble (later Johnson). Personally, I find that baffling. I was very impressed by her quiet and subtle performance as the widowed mathematician, who not only struggled to endure the dismissive attitude of her Space Group Task Force colleagues, but also found love again after spending a few years as a widow. Personally, I thought Henson's performance deserved at least an award nomination or two. "HIDDEN FIGURES" also featured top notch performances from the supporting cast. Kevin Costner gave a very colorful performances as the Space Group Task Force director Al Harrison. The movie's other colorful performance came from Glen Powell, who portrayed astronaut and future U.S. senator John Glennn. Jim Parsons was just as subtle as Henson in his portrayal of the racist, yet insecure head engineer Paul Stafford. Mahershala Ali gave a nice and charming performance as Katherine's second husband, Jim Johnson. But his performance did not strike as particularly memorable. Aldis Hodge, on the other hand, gave an intense and interesting performance as Mary's politically-inclined husband, Levi Jackson; who urges his wife to overcome her reluctance to pursue a graduate degree in Engineering. This movie seemed to be filled with subtle performance for Kirsten Dunst also gave one as the slightly racist Vivian Mitchell, supervisor of all the Human Computers. The movie turned out to be quite a surprise for me. Watching the trailer, I came away with the impression that it would be one of those nice, but mediocre live-action Disney films. And to be honest, there were moments when Theodore Melfi's direction gave that impression. He does not strike me as a particularly memorable director. But that opening sequence featuring the three protagonists and a cop seemed to hint Melfi's potential to become a first-rate director. In the end, the movie's superb Oscar-nominated screenplay and the excellent performances of a cast led by Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe made "HIDDEN FIGURES" one of my favorite movies of 2016.
