UGH. One of (many) brutal things about the dinner scene is that Sergei is so unwaveringly certain in a way he usually is not with Margo. Often he is passive, waiting for her to take the lead -- to ask him to grab the bottle, to request he kiss her, to suggest they 'finish what they started.' But here, he has a whole plan for them, for her, because he already knew that she can't just stare at an apartment wall for 20 years. AND THEN, he takes her hand, more firmly than his little tentative finger brush in '91. And they don't say it. But they've said it in their way.

When Sergei's waiting for Margo to show up in the diner, how many times did he think to himself, 'I showed up at her doomsday club before 11.59. I was early. She's not even on time.' And then hate himself for thinking anything negative about her.

He brings his science magazine with him not only to pass the time, but to prove to Margo that his intelligence hasn't drained away. That he's still sharp and inquisitive and while he can't match her current knowledge any more, he still keeps up to date with space industry news. He still knows people in it. He's still worth knowing.

I did some lino outfits bc I like dressing him up. Please ignore the fact that he should have 2 flesh legs in two of these.

#idk. something something about one of his castings as an angel worships the parts of him that made him Lino and did nothing to hide them #and the other going out of its way to make him 'normal' while still using the same justifications to call him an angel #anyways his leg wasnt crushed that high up but it needed to be re amputated and shortened a few times #to correct the fuck ups that happened during the last attempt to treat it #Vincents attempt caused him to get a gnarly infection on the bone that made it weak.#Margo was able to salvage that mess but had to take a few inches to clean out the worst of the infection and have enough excess to #close the wound properly.#The first prosthetic he got at The Sun was meant to look like a real leg while not actually being a good prosthetic.#it was bolted directly into his Still Healing bone. Very fancy. That surgery also took a few inches off.#The last one he had to deal with was when he went back to vincent and had a Fun Time talking Vincent through how to do an amputation right #But vincent did actually do a decent job that time and kt wasnt a pleasant but it still like #worked out.#hes like 4 ft tall so he didn't have a lot of inches to begin with. you lnow how it is

Made the mistake of watching their goodbye scene in 3.07. God, Margo. Her little step back, knowing if Sergei touches her she'll never let him go. Trying to discretely wipe away her tears. Breaking down completely before he's even closed the door. Fuck.

Margo's big only child energy vs Sergei's multiple siblings one is something with unlimited hilarity potential that's not talked enough about imo.

It does come across in the show a bit (mostly due to their respective roles in the plot) with Margo generally behaving like the main character of the universe while Sergei seems perfectly aware he's just someone's weird brother. So, I'm sat here wondering what that would look like in the day-to-day at age 60.
