DAY IN THE LIFE — fame dr 'CHILL DAY' edition
⋆ 8:30 AM – rise and shine in my gorgeous, light-filled apartment overlooking the pulse of paris near the opera garnier. the sun filters through elegant french windows as i slide out of bed in that loewe "i told ya" t-shirt (reference to challengers and jfk jr, hello????). making make a fresh coffee, lounging back on your plush couch with a journal in hand.
⋆ 9:15 AM – time for makeup, and the morning glow-up begins. walking to the pristine, marble-tiled bathroom, as i start with dior prestige la micro-huile de rose for that lit-from-within radiance. next, dior forever skin veil SPF 20 goes on as primer, adding a layer of sheer perfection. then comes the dior forever glow foundation, finished with a touch of YSL touche eclat for a much needed radiance, especially after that...uh, shameful night of over-sweetened margaritas.
bronzed with chanel les beiges healthy glow, cheekbones looking enviable and effortless. i sweep hermès' rose hermès silky blush across my cheeks for that subtle parisian flush. for eyes, it's the dior 5 couleurs couture palette in soft browns with a little extra shimmer from chanel's LES 4 OMBRES for that delicate, specific victoria secret's look. IDUN mineral's SILFR mascara and charlotte tilbury pillow talk lip liner with gucci rouge à lèvres voile lipstick to finish my look.
⋆ 10:00 AM – curls brushed and outfit on: bootleg jeans, chloé paddington boots, a fitted red knit sweater, and a vintage MIU MIU bag – a look straight out of a pinterest moodboard.
⋆ 11:00 AM – i slip out of my apartment, making my way to BO&MIE near the louvre. i grab a warm, flaky pain au chocolat (because we all need sweet treats in our lives) and a chai latte to go, the perfect balance of cozy and sweet. it’s a quiet sunday, and i take this little ritual down to the seine, settling on a bench to take in the morning lull. imogen heap playing softly in earbuds, a dreamy soundtrack to the sounds of paris waking up around.
⋆ 12:00 PM – i begin a gentle wander through the 1st and 2nd arrondissements, where sunday flea markets pop with trinkets, vintage finds, and that peculiar magic only parisian markets can hold. perusing tables with glimmering jewelry and rare books, picking up an old poetry collection that catches the eye, and maybe a tiny golden charm to hang off my bag or to gift a friend. a few fans recognise me, some shy and some thrilled, and i lean in for pictures with a warm, “i don’t bite!!!!!” 🫶
⋆ 1:30 PM – meeting a friend at VESPER, diving into sushi and cocktails that match the chicness of the moment. the laughter, the cocktails, the buzz makes everything feel light and sparkling. by the time we're done, i've had a few (as per), feeling just woozy enough to make the walk interesting.
⋆ 3:20 PM – with a bottle of water to balance out those cocktails, i head over to the musée de l’orangerie. monet’s water lilies are a calming spell – the colours, the quiet of the museum – all washing over, letting everything slow down for just a beat. besides the previous alcohol makes everything just a bit more technicolour.
⋆ 4:00 PM – galeries lafayette calls, and i'm in for a mini treat. picking out a new lip gloss, maybe a rich red or muted mauve, and stop by ladurée to snag some macarons. meanwhile, phone is buzzing; it’s thé manager, with urgent texts about an absolutely irresistible film offer.
⋆ 5:00 PM – meeting up with another friend, slipping into the comfortable flow of wandering conversation, stopping at a small, antique café for tea. the macarons make a reappearance, and it’s that kind of timeless paris afternoon – where you can talk about everything and nothing and let hours drift by.
⋆ 7:00 PM – friend heads out, leaving me alone at the café. perfect for pulling out a journal, pouring out poems, song drafts, and a little doomscrolling (because even in paris, i'm only human).
⋆ 8:00 PM – dinner with a close circle, back in the spotlight with cocktails, laughter, and some elegant dishes.
⋆ 10:40 PM – finally back in my apartment, the curls loosened, phone nearly dead, and the soft hush of a small headache as the city quiets. i slip into something cozy, nestle into bed with a new book, and drift off feeling like me and paris are all alone together, back to where the day began – calm, sweet, and wholly mine <3

That moment when the Spice Festival and Night On The Town fall on the same night, so drinks are free until 2AM. Pour up!
After SEVERAL drinks, She most definitely got absolutely wasted then called her fiancé to come get her! 😏 Whole time I'm watching her just gigglin' and thinking of that One Margarita song
Fun Fact: This is Ashanti, TJ's older sister. She's engaged to Mekhi (Monet's older brother). Her & TJ are actually Melo's cousins. Melo was raised by his Aunt (Ashanti & TJ's mom) and Grandma. His mom passed away when he was very young.
Ashanti and Mekhi have had an on -again-off-again relationship since high school. Now that they're 30-somethings, She's ready to settle down and start a family. She stopped taking her birth control (without telling Mekhi) and has been trying to get pregnant. They just got back together (officially) not too long ago and she is not about to do the whole break-up/make-up thing any more. She damn near gave him an ultimatum that he better put a ring on it, or else...A few months later, he did exactly that. She...I mean they're planning the wedding of her dreams. Mekhi would be ok with going to the courthouse but anything for the love of his life...right?
#astoldbychae random gameplay#I need to do one of those family trees#they're so many engaged sims in my game#lawd help me#i need to make a pinterest board for their wedding#this is about to be fun#i hope she doesnt get pregnant before her wedding#cause its so many paused pregnancies in this save#CHILE IM TIED#I cant wait for the family reunion#Spotify

Before, I thought every Urb only had a 20 positive relationship with other members of their district. But I discovered this wasn't true. Upon starting a new save to mess around with the game, I discovered Crispin has a 40 positive relationship with Rolanda. (Oddly they don't consider each other friends though) and I wondered if this was true for every other leader Urb or if Crispin was a special case? Initially, I suspected every leader might have a relationship with another Urb to give them a higher rep to further establish them as the "leader".
So, I started a brand-new save to see if this were true. And... not really. HOWEVER, there are still some Urbz with premade relationships beyond their district members -- they're not only the leaders, though. And sometimes the leaders themselves lack a unique relationship.
Mazuiko Jackson curiously has a relationship with both Genghis and Jones. I think she's one of the few unique to this, as most Urbz, if they DO know a person from another district, it's usually just one. She's also shown to have a higher relationship with Chewy, but that's only because she was interacting with him as I was entering this lot.
As you can see here, Diva Roma has the generic "20" relationships with only other district members. So, some leaders don't have extra relationships. (I don't think Cash Monet had any unique ones either) Same with Louie Bricks, he doesn't have any unique relationships but interestingly, he does have a higher relationship with Pamela. I believe that is preset because he was nowhere near her when I entered the lot (thus they have not interacted with each other yet) and despite the high relationship, they lack a friend icon. (It seems that, for some reason, preset relationships lack any icons despite them being high enough to have one)
For some reason, will.i.am doesn't know your urb at the start, despite your urb having a 10 positive relationship with him.
Babs Margarita also has a preestablished relationship with two other Urbz.
Suzie Mack also has a higher relationship with Duke, for some reason. (Perhaps these characters were intended to be, or directed to be, "romantic" relationships?) I'd also note that Duke does not statrt with a romance with Isis. Because for a long while, The Sims Wiki had that he did in his & her relationships. But at the time of writing this post, it seems like that has already been corrected on their pages lol. Likely he started a romance during somebody's game, and they just assumed they were canon lol.
These are other ones I included for reference but aren't as interesting. I didn't take pics of every urb's relationships. Especially I didn't bother with repeats of ones (Like String Bean's are similar to Scary Mary's, only having 20 positive with his district members, but a 40 with Scary) and I didn't bother screenshotting most that had the generic 20 positives with their peers, but do not know anyone outside their district. (Which is many, for example -- every other Foundry member aside from Crispin have the generic relationships)
Though I do find it interesting that for some reason, a couple of Kicktail Park members have relationships with South Side Bridge Urbz considering that they don't even "like" South Side Bridge, they're only neutral with that district. Maybe it has some lore reason, or maybe they were originally intended to be friendly with them.

Interview w/ Lynx from Old Blood
It's not often that I get to sit down and chat with the women featured on this blog, but I was fortunate enough to grab LYNX from Old Blood and ask her a few questions.
Old Blood is a metal band out of Southern California. Their most recent release is Acid Doom, which you can check out here.
And now, on to the questions!
One of the things I’m always curious about is how other black women found themselves entangled with rock music. Can you tell me a bit about how you discovered rock music and what made you want to perform rock music?
I've always been a performer - I started acting when I was 2 and music has always been my favorite medium and as I started finding my favorite kinds of music, I always enjoyed the "strong stuff" more than other sounds. But when I discovered metal, the similarities with classical music really spoke to me. As a violinist, I was drawn to the guitar solos. As a vocalist, I was drawn to the power - all this around the ages of 9 and 10. When my neighbor lent me some Metallica tapes (yeah, this was in the 80's!), I knew what musical direction I'd be taking.
How has your experience been as the frontwoman for Old Blood? Anything memorable happen while performing with this band?
Joining OLD BLOOD has been an incredible experience. The guys are great to work with. Whether we're hammering out new parts of a song in rehearsal, cris-crossing the nation in Macho Van Bandy Savage (our band van) or hitting that tricky part of that one song at that one bar - it's always fun. Some shows really stand out in my mind - ones where other women, often black women, approached me in gratitude for being who I am and doing what I do. Truly heartening moments.
What is your creative process when it comes to making albums and performing?
I'm always making notes, as I hear or "find" lyrics in my daily comings and goings. I keep these notes in a binder that comes out when we start composing the music for new songs. I leaf through these pages and listen for melodic cues that draw these lyrics off the page. The song builds from there. Before a gig, I like to do some Pilates along with some focused breathwork and vocalizations to prepare myself for the athleticism of an OLD BLOOD show.
Who are some of your favorite bands to listen to right now?
I've been deep in a Mark Lanegan phase for the last 5 years or so, much more after reading Sing Backwards and Weep, his autobiography. When we went on tour in 2021, I got it as an audiobook and his voice became an essential companion for those hours of seemingly endless travel. He passed away shortly before our 2022 tour and once more, his music, written and spoken words served as a tobacco and whisky-stained security blanket in my ear.
Of course, LYNX can't live by Lanegan alone. Unto Others (formerly Idle Hands), out of Portland is another constant in my auditory library. The 1st 4 cds in my car's player are all theirs.
Otherwise, I love supporting the local scene and LA has an abundance of mad-talented acts that keep me out late. I saw my buddies in Formula 400 last night with Freedom Hawk, from Virginia Beach and the night before, my friend Margarita Monet and her band Edge of Paradise opened a stellar jam night in the heart of Hollywood. There's so much good stuff out there!!
What word of advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining a band or getting involved in the music industry?
Give it a go. If it's something you truly desire, that need will never leave you. It won't be ignored nor will it die. Learn as much as you can about the industry and what it takes to reach your definition of success. It's different for everyone, but just don't let that call go unanswered.
