It's official: my first flag and band camp as Coach Villa (or Coach Linds, if you ask any of the girls) is over. I had a moment yesterday where I stood up at the top of the stands and watched the band march and play the opener - I started tearing up. Seeing my choreography performed by those great girls on the football field...nothing could have prepared me. The past two weeks have been crazy. Going from band to work to life constantly, working with a group of amazing girls, but one where half of them had never held a flag before this year was a unique challenge. But it was so worth it. I have been blessed my first season as coach with an absolutely wonderful group of girls that I have been honored to watch and help grow, as well as fellow staff that I have absolutely adored, and I know these two weeks have just been the beginning. And as for the last picture... let's just say, we've come a long way, folks. Help Me Get To New York

“So, next year, the high school I'll be at will be going to New York City (the entire music department, ex. Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and etc). Marching Band and Band are already expensive enough for my family and we barely have a year to raise around $1000 (fundraising included, without the fundraising, it would be around $1200). My goal is $1200 or more because I want to get things from New York City or save money for a new clarinet (I dropped my clarinet 7 total times last Marching Season). My mom will help me with the money, but I don't think my family can pull together around $1000 in the amount of time we have (it hasn't been confirmed, but we may be going around spring break). So any amount of money will help, if more than $1200 is raised, then it will be donated to the band program. You may be thinking "Oh, you're in high school, just go get a job". I'll be in Highschool, I'm 14 right now and the only actual job I can get is at Krogers as a bagger. Anyways, donate what you want or can, it will help a lot. Thanks. :)”

This isn’t as urgent as you think it might be, but my brother is getting married in 2019 and that’s when the trip is. My mom is mainly putting her scarce amount of money towards his wedding and very little to my once in a lifetime opportunity. I don’t want to miss such a big chance because of money and work is very limited for a 14-year-old. We’ll need around $1000 and I thought it was $800 but it turns out it went up o $1000 so I need around $1200. I know this sounds vain and all, but this benefits the band significantly and since my high school usually puts money towards our football team, we need this money. We need this money for new instruments for the band and orchestra. We need this money for new uniforms (my uniform ripped at least 3 times last season). My family is tight on money and I really want to go to New York with my friends... my band family but everything is preventing that because my mom just doesn't have the money. No one in my family does. Every donation helps the band, my school, and my family. This is mainly my fault why I don't have any money saved, but I'm terrible at saving money but I'm actually dedicated now because this is serious for me. I don't know what to say or what to do, so PLEASE DONATE FOR THE BAND.

So I'm in marching band and one of my favorite things is the fact that during band camp the color guard and drumline were having a competition to see who could have the better room and the color guard had fairy lights and a fan and a tv and an Xbox and an air mattress and the drumline had a tv and a ps2 and everyone had snacks in the rooms and the guard even talked about getting a mini fridge and this went on for two weeks and our band director never found out

Bears And a Bunkbed - A Strange Dream After Band Camp

So I had a dream last night that was a little more strange than usual. I don't remember much, but what I do remember is two weird things; bears and a bunk bed. 

So, it's a family of 6 - dad, mom, three sons, and a newborn daughter. There was some type of war going on so it basically required any man in a family to go to war or something like that? I forget the rest but a bear attacks the house and the 2nd oldest son and father and blocking the doors as bears are scratching at the doors and just going crazy. No clue what happened next but I remember something like the government or the enemy was turning people in bears?? I guess, ok? Then my brain basically described gorilla-like men. Literally. Another military thing turning soldiers into GORILLAS? Yeah, I just decided to roll with it because it was 2 in the morning I think and I was sleeping. 

And now the bunkbed. This is the weirdest (in my opinion) out of the turning people into animals. So, the family is really poor and had a really small house. The living room was the bedroom with 4 (5) beds - 1 for the newborn, 1 for the toddler son, 1 bunk bed for the other two sons, and 1 for the parents. They somehow managed to balance the bunk bed on the toddler's bed and the parent's bed?? I found that so weird because it's 2 beds on two beds at the same time? It was so weird and the two oldest sons still sleep on it. My brain is weird. 

Also, the second son (who seemed to be the main character) kept on talking about developing powers or something and then he goes and breaks up a fight between 3 extremely overweight girls at school at night then when going home, he finds some furries under the bleachers by the football field/track? I guess I can track that back to something that happened during this week because I saw this 13-year old boy under the bleachers at the football field looking at hentai at dinner during band camp. It was strange. Not the same thing, but somewhat similar.
