Battle-filled issue, which jumps away to different characters and different stories in many different locations. It’s a bit much. Luckily, the a-story is very compelling because of the new Starhawk (who is not the old Starhawk!).

Kinda feels like a fill-in but a very good one.
A flashback to Cable on Askani World (Earth-4935)!
Liefeld only draws two pages here, the first and the last, while Mike Mignola does the rest. The next issue is Liefeld's final one as the artist. (But not as the plotter.)
In the midst of the ongoing battle, Cable has a 16-page flashback. We see him and a team fighting HYDRA. Then we see him depart for the distant future! And, in one fell swoop, we learn quite a lot of his backstory and his reasons for starting X-Force. Sam Guthrie is the key!
