In heat or in rut his first true cycle doesn't happen for some time since he became immortal. His body had to adjust to many things from his dynamic changing from Beta to Alpha or Omega, to his rapid healing, and eventual mara.

Regardless of what dynamic he is his first cycle leaves him unable to move and practically feral out of fear and the rush of hormones through his body.

His mate, should he have one at this time, is sent mixed messages of him wanting them near him and wanting them as far away as possible from him out of concern. If they think they can handle him during this they'll join him in his poorly made nest and try to ease his pain. He does bite them like he feared and doesn't let go for some time but at least his bites aren't as bad as what they thought they would have been. Cuddling is just about the only thing Blade wants at the moment he's to distressed to want anything else but comfort.

If he doesn't have a mate at the time he'll do his best to wait it out on his own though he has a miserable time doing so. His nest is poorly made, it doesn't smell quite right, and it isn't nearly as soothing as he needs it to be.

Later on when he has his cycle regularly and finds someone he's attracted to his body tends to overreact and make his body go into pre-heat/pre-rut. Kafka has teased him on more than one occasion when she's noticed his flushed appearance and the same person he keeps his gaze on for a bit too long. He's tired of her and he's tired of going into pre-anything.

What did you think about Curse? Do you agree with the criticism ?

I haven't read it for myself yet, but I don't mind spoilers. I did hear that there might be something between LaLa and Chaos, and since I kinda shipped them since TBONA so I find that interesting lol.

Is TBONA better than ACFTL?

I loved curse SO MUCH. I love the added depth we get to Jacks (somehow she pulled more trauma from somewhere) And I absolutely do NOT agree with the criticism. I’ve seen people say Jacks changed and it’s LITERALLY EXPLAINED WHY. (I gad a Jacks character analysis along with the voices in my head so I may post it eventually) Plus everyone saying “there’s too much Apollo” needs to understand he’s a main character. He got a POV and more focus because Stephanie wants you to realize he’s a main character with depth. It’s not necessarily she’s going to give him how own book maybe she just liked writing the character? As someone who would like to be a professional author I can see how she likes his character he has a lot of depth.

It does seem like Chaos and LaLa have tension. But honestly I don’t think LaLa is all that into him. She hated him in ouabh and tbona and in curse she seems to still dislike him. Although maybe Stephanie wants to do an enemies to lovers with them in the future. I wouldn’t mind it I think it could be good. I honestly right now don’t ship them just from what we’ve been given. (Chaos is kinda fruity I am vibing with a personal headcanon he’s at least bisexual I would kill for a gay vampire love story)

Personally I think curse is better than tbona. But I’ve always thought Stephanie’s books get better every time. The one people like best will depend on what version of EvaJacks they want. If you liked their relationship in tbona, you probably won’t like curse as much as tbona and same with ouabh.

ALSO I HATE AURORA VALOR SO MUCH. AT FIRST I WAS LIKE “oh she kinda badass?” IN THIS ONE SCENE BUT THEN I WAS LIKE “no shes bad and an ass and needs to stfu and gtfo”

now as for the whole Omega being hunted by the Empire thing… I kinda knew it was coming. one of the screeners who leaked stuff a while back mentioned it, so yeah, I’m not that surprised. it makes sense all things considered. I’m not happy about it of course, but I’m sure it’ll be fine… it’ll be FINE 🫠

honestly, there’s two things I’ve been mainly focusing on this episode: Cid and Nala Se

with Cid, I’m not too surprised about this rift that’s been created with her. it was hinted at in Faster, and it’s pretty in character for her to be a jerk to them in general. but unlike most people, I don’t think this is TBB being donezo with her for good. nor do I think Cid will be the one to sell them out. despite how she acts, Cid does harbor some good feelings towards them, especially Omega. and I highly doubt she would be THAT cruel, all things considered. I foresee the boys going back to ask for her help after Omega inevitably gets captured. at least, that’s what I’m hoping for. I genuinely like Cid and I really don’t want them to leave her for good ☹️

now for Nala Se… OH boy. I can’t believe they’re trying to pull a Mara Sov on us with her. those of you who don’t know, there’s a prominent character in Destiny who, like Nala Se, has been responsible for a LOT of crap happening (all the way down to the genocide of her own people), but recent events have been attempting to have her “atone for her sins” or whatever. and I AIN’T HAVIN IT 😤

y’all know me, I love a good redemption and will always try to push for that whenever possible. but also, sometimes, you gotta let a bad guy be a bad guy. Palpatine and Pong Krell are excellent examples of characters that I was more than happy to see bite the bullet. and I’m the same with Nala Se. that BINCH has been responsible for most if not all of the Clones problems, and is directly responsible for what happened to Fives. she’s been uncaring and selfish for as long as we’ve known her. so to pull this bs of “oh but she actually genuinely cares about this ONE person, even though she manipulated them for their entire life” is NOT gonna fly with me, sorry. idc if she “cares” about Omega, she’s just as terrible as the rest of the Empire and has NO pity from me. and I can already tell, Omega will be conflicted about her feelings cause she’s such a caring person and won’t be able to see how manipulative Nala Se was in comparison to how her brothers have treated her. it’s fine, she’s a child with the biggest heart imaginable, I can forgive her for that. I just REALLY don’t want Nala Se redeemed in any way. she doesn’t deserve it. let her rot in that cell for the rest of her life for all I care 😠

literally, I cannot believe how much this is rivaling Mara’s story in Destiny. even down to “the person you manipulated for the entire time you’ve known them is suddenly taken away from you and now you’re going to attempt to atone for it by trying to be a better person cause you suddenly decided you genuinely care about them now that you don’t have them anymore”. I cannot STAND this bs. sorry, but you had your chance, and you BLEW IT. take the L, stfu, and get outta my face. you’re selfish, and you know it. and continuing to take advantage of a kind person’s kindness makes you even more of a scumbag (predicting things with Nala Se here, but yeah, this is totally gonna happen 🙃)
