Map Quest was hi-tech and came along years after I started driving. I remember the days that you had no real idea how many miles until the next exit. You had to watch carefully or you might miss it and go pretty far past until you realized it. No cell phones either, so if you broke down, good luck flagging someone down or walking to the next exit.

I kind of miss those days.

(my phone broke cant buy new one rn and somehow got where i needed to go based off intuition and the lady who rang me up at rainbow and will do so until another phone finds me)

My unpopular opinion is that I typically don't like books that have maps at the start of it. Don't just assume that putting a map means I understand where things are. If you put a map it's going to be a geographically complicated and I'm not down for that I don't even know how to get to the kitchen most days if I don't turn on my MapQuest LOL

Map quest helped you learn how to get around the city and eventually, you learn all of the names of the streets etc. I miss Mapquest but then I don't miss it. Printer ink was too damn expensive. I remember just writing the directions down when my ink was low.

Remember when we had to print out #MapQuest instructions and hope we didn't miss a turn? It was like a paper chase adventure! And if you took a wrong turn, good luck finding your way back. Now, with #Waze, our cars are connected, and we get real-time updates. Just a tap and you're back on track.
