Speaking of baerenwald/forest families, were they sold in America back in the 80's?

I believe they did have a US line called Peach Fuzz? forest families I think was the EU name, baerenwald being the main german company name that started it. The parent company was Simba toys I think and they had a merger with another company or 2 so it's kinda all confusing and I'm not sure the specifics 100%. But I do believe they were the main competitor along with MapleTown for Sylvanians and known in US. I dont have personal knowledge on this tho so dont quote me LOL

Been in a huge reading slump. Book swap, not something I would normally pick to read. Pretty much all of the characters are really interesting, I feel so bad for Sadie she can not catch a single break throughout the entire book. Sam is a complex character and written really well, I feel like you're supposed to feel sorry for him but I don't he is a bit of a creep and I don't like him. Dov is a horrible man and I hate that Sadie keeps in contact with him throughout her adult life, despite being in an abusive relationship with him. I didn't actually expect Marx to die, the idea of him and Sadie falling in love, Sadie getting pregnant and then him getting shot up by homophobes (because of Sam's actions arguably) is frustrating because it feels like Sam influencing her life negatively again without needing to do anything. Marx was probably the best male character in Sadie's life, I did think he was a bit gross for making out with Sadie and Zoe when they were on drugs and he was sober. The game ideas that the author comes up with for the story are actually amazing, I would play Ichigo if it was a real game, and Pioneers and Mapletown. Zevin either has experience in game development or had done a lot of research beforehand and it shows in the plot. There are also lots of incredibly good quotes on love and relationships in this book and some of them brought me to actual tears. The ending didn't really wrap anything up or give any satisfactory conclusion to Sadie and Sam's story, but I definitely think that was the whole point, and I'm actually quite glad they didn't end up dating at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed this book despite getting into a reading slump about a third of the way through - would recommend!

Can confirm about blockbuster being filled with a lot of not well known kids media.

I was a toddler in 2000, and I devoured their entire section for under 5s. Olsen & Olsen Mystery Agency, Land Before Time, Mapletown, all of it.

I can also comfirm that there was a section in the back I wasn't allowed to go to. It was definitely softcore porn.

Hello World!

Simon Fraser here. I was quite the adventurer back then so I have decided to document my findings. Here's a little get to know me...

I was born on May 20, 1776 in Mapletown, Hoosick Township, New York.

I was the youngest of 10 children. My parents, Simon Fraser of Culbokie and Guisachan, and Isabel Grant of Daldreggan came with his regiment to North America in 1773. But in 1777, father was captured at the Battle of Bennington and died in 1779 as a prisoner in Albany Jail.

Even after the war ended, my family was still being harassed by rebels. That is why mother and us kids moved to Canada with her in 1784. So one of my uncles, Captain John Fraser, one of the brothers who had served in fathers regiment and was a judge, helped us settle near Coteau-du-Lac, west of Montreal.
