tbh I'm never going to stop being mad about the Manx syndrome that makes Manx cats manxes. It's an easily, Visually identifiable trait that causes the afflicted animal life long discomfort and mobility issues so severe many need specialized care and equipment to give them a normal life. And that isnt even taking into account how many die as kittens or who need to be put down because they'll never have the minimum quality of life needed to subject them to their difficulties.
there's 2 genes that can cause shortened tails/no tail in cats and while it's debatable how ethical the other one is, due to how important tails are for cat communication, the bobtail Gene is at least not devastating to the animals welfare. Unlike Manx syndrome it just causes the kittens to be born with fewer tail vertebrae. All the other vertebrae are unaffected.
Manx syndrome, in the more severe cases, which to be clear are the breed standard and are considered Desirable, cause the back half of the spine to fail to form correctly. This causes the cats to "hop like bunnies" bc their hind legs are partially paralyzed. they have severe nerve issues bc their spinal cord isn't fully encased in bone like it should be. The paralysis effects their guts too, making many of them incontinent or unable to relieve themselves properly. which leads to chronic UTIs and them needing frequent baths. which, they are cats, they do not like baths.
The main defense of the continued intentional breeding of manxes is that it is a naturally occurring mutation, as in its a landrace breed that initially happened on its own in the feral cat population on the island of mann. "if they were able to survive and reproduce under those conditions then surely it's ok" type of argument. A dominant trait spreading through a feral cat population on a small island that has no predators and plenty of small animal prey to eat, is not a defense. it's the law of large numbers.
#Prime was intentionally bred by a breeder who wanted to get rich selling manx cats nc they saw how expensive the kittens were#the kittens are so expensive bc many litters end up like Primes. with 3/5 kittens needing to be put down within weeks or days of being born#Of the two kittens who made it to 6months only Prime was ever deened adoptable. her brother had to stay at the manx specific shelter#and he only made it to a little over a year before he started suffering from kidney failure bc of the constant UTIs#he had perfect. Specialized care and as much resources and attention as he needed and he still didn't get to live his life#Prime's better off obviously but i still have to spend a lot of time on her care and she doesn't get to be a cat in the same#way as her sisters#ie my other two cats who are just random bred shorthairs#cw animal cruelty#most of the sources about manx syndrome are in reference to it occuring randomly in livestock or humans#bc like#it is something that does just happen without any intentional breeding for the trait unfortunately#cats just handle it a lot better for their own reasons#' spina bifida' is the technical term but its called manx syndrome in other animals too

Do you have any advice on finding ethical cat breeders? I've only ever adopted, but I'm hoping to get hairless (or slightly haired) breed in the future due to my partner's allergies.
oh sure, here's what sold me on the breeder I'm currently wait-listed for:
she lists the 40+ health tests her animals have gone through, and has the results uploaded onto her website
each cat has their coefficient of inbreeding visible
it's not a kitten factory. there are set times of year when breeding occurs (in this case, spring and fall)
breeding animals have short careers and then are retired, to avoid strain on their bodies, and allow them to live as pets
she attends cat shows to ensure her animals are meeting breed standards
there are rarely any kittens 'for sale', as most sales are done through a waitlist. this means that even before being born, most of the kittens she produces already have waiting homes.
she requires buyers to sign a contract saying that this will be an indoor cat, and that there will be no declawing
also in the contract: if for whatever reason you can no longer care for your cat, she will take it back and find a home for it.
doesn't breed for any unethical traits (extreme brachycephaly, manx tails, folded ears, lykoi fur mutation, munchkin legs, etc.)
doesn't make outlandish claims - anyone who breeds lower allergen cats should be forthright about the fact that no cat will truly be hypoallergenic, only less allergenic
requires the cat to have a feline companion if it is of a more social breed (oriental, siamese, devon rex, etc)
has a 2 year congenital health guarantee
there's probably more, but that's off the top of my head!
EDIT: as for your particular situation, aim for breeds that produce less of the protein in their saliva that triggers allergies. Devon Rexes (the breed I'm getting) are a double whammy in this regard, as they produce less of the protein, and shed less fur into their environment.
#when I was a teenager I got pangur from a shitty breeder#but in eleven years I have gained a liiiittle bit of knowledge 😤 and now I can do better!

I can't find it now, which probably means it was months and months ago, but someone sent me an ask about considering adopting a cat but, as a dog person, not knowing much about adoption (e.g., whether shelter cats are good for first-time owners) and the day-to-day responsibilities of cat ownership. I can answer for my own experience, although I'm sure I'll be forgetting some important aspects!
Shelter vs Purebred:
I have a little 5-year-old shelter cat, a female domestic shorthair with a tuxedo coat! That's a big difference between cats and dogs - the vast, vast, VAST majority of cats you'll ever encounter are simply categorized as domestic shorthair/medium hair/longhair, with purebred cats being rare enough that they generally are limited to breeders - when I was an adoption counselor at a shelter, I only saw a couple of potentially purebred cats some through, and both were likely mixes. A lot of the time, cats are identified by their coat colors instead (e.g., calico, tabby, orange, tuxedo, colorpoint, dilute, etc.) with much made of the personality traits associated with those coats even though there's tragically no real science to back that up. Some coat colors are much more common with particular sexes of cats - orange cats are about 80/20 male/female, while calicos are >98% female - and that may contribute to some of the kitty stereotypes (e.g., orange cats are typically male, and neutered male cats tend to be quite calm and chill).
I'd heartily recommend shelter cats to anyone, including first-time owners. A lot of purebred cats sadly come with medical conditions (e.g., scottish folds often have significant pain due to connective tissue disorders, manx cats are prone to arthritis and spinal problems, maine coons and sphynx cats have relatively high rates of congenital heart disease, persians are brachycephalic and have breathing issues) or extra-high maintenance care requirements (e.g., sphynx cats must be bathed regularly because the lack of hair means the oils on their skin stick to any and all dirt, maine coons and ragdolls and norwegian forest cats require significant daily grooming to keep their long double coats from matting, brachycephalic cats require extra baths and grooming since they're generally unable to keep their own coats as clean, and breeds like bengals are so immensely high-energy that it's nearly a full-time job keeping up with their needs for enrichment and constant activity).
Shelter cats are almost all domestic shorthair/medium hair/longhair breeds, and tend to have the longest life expectancy of all kitties - although there are no guarantees (I sadly lost a 9-month-old kitten to a congenitally damaged heart) the lifespan numbers quoted lately for indoor-only cats tend to be around 15-25 years. And, of course, most places are overrun with stray cats - adopting from a shelter often comes with a free spay/neuter and vaccines, along with the satisfaction of having rescued a little critter that had a rough start before finding a forever home. You can visit shelters and get to know the kitties there - keep in mind that most cats are dramatically more fearful and shy in cages, and that you can often ask volunteers to point you to their favorites, especially if you're looking for an extra-chill cat as a first-time owner.
Consider adopting an adult cat! Kittens are adorable, but their energy levels are absolutely through the roof... as well as their destructive potential. Picture tiny whirlwinds with knives on their feet, the ability to jump 4-5 feet from a dead stop, zero sense of self-preservation, and the ability to keep sprinting for hours at random times of day and night. If you do get a kitten, consider adopting two - they tend to be less work since they'll keep each other entertained. Adult cats, however, tend to have more chill personalities and are more likely to settle into a routine quickly. My Clara is still pretty high-energy, but at 5 years old she's happy to have a shorter session of zoomies and intense play if it means she can then just curl up on a lap or in the sun to snooze and purr. Senior kitties are also wonderful - often cats don't have a very visible decline and remain relatively high-energy and chipper until very late in life, so it's not unusual that a 13-year-old cat will still act like a kitten and have many good years ahead, just a bit more chill.
Keep in mind that a cat is a long-term commitment. I was 7 years old when my parents brought two kittens home from the shelter - they lived another 18 years, until I was well into grad school.
Common Health Problems:
Cats that were once strays are very prone to two common diseases: FIV and FeLV. FIV (feline immundeficiency virus) essentially is a disorder of the immune system: these cats may be more prone to getting ill and may get more significantly ill when they do get sick. Luckily, FIV is far from a death sentence! These cats can live a normal quantity and quality of life with proactive health monitoring and regular trips to the vet (we're talking every 6 months instead of every year). FIV is contagious to other cats, but generally is only spread via deep bite wounds, so mixing of FIV+ and FIV- cats is possible given that you know that the cats are unlikely to get into a major fracas. FeLV (feline leukemia virus), sadly, has a worse prognosis - there's a lot of variability, but generally the best-case scenario is only a handful of years before the viral load is too high to avoid dangerous symptoms.
Another kitty disease that is sadly common among younger cats in particular is FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), which is a complication from a common kitty coronavirus that can emerge at any time and often manifests in very vague symptoms and is difficult to pin down. Until very, very recently, FIP was essentially considered to be 100% fatal within a couple of months and the recommendation was euthanasia. Now there are medications that can bring that survival rate past 90% - they're in the process of going through FDA approval, although there are groups online dedicated to getting you those medications through less official channels as needed. If anyone's familiar with Drawfee, Jacob and Julia's cat Olive was diagnosed with FIP at around 1 year old and was considered to be terminal - and, thanks to one of those online groups getting them the medication, is currently a happy and healthy 6-year-old kitty.
Nearly all shelter cats I've encountered have some level of URI (upper respiratory infection) - be prepared for a little extra sneezing and potentially having to give eyedrops the first couple weeks after getting home. URIs are SO CONTAGIOUS that it's almost impossible to keep them from spreading in a shelter setting. Also common is ringworm, although most shelters will isolate any contagious kittens and keep the infection localized.
Please spay and neuter your cats! They can have kittens incredibly young and incredibly frequently - unspayed female cats are also prone to certain cancers and unneutered male cats are prone to spraying (urinating on walls and other surfaces). The surgery is incredibly routine for both males and females (Clara had complications, but that just meant she had a few extra days of confinement) and generally the hardest part is keeping them from going after their stitches. Most shelters will provide spay/neuter services for free or on the cheap. They recover quickly and completely.
Cats also do incredibly well in a lot of different situations - deaf or half-deaf cats are quite common (nearly all blue-eyed cats with white coats are deaf) and just need some extra care to ensure they feel safe; the same goes for blind or one-eyed kitties, who can still happily play and navigate a space once they're familiar with it. Routine is key! Three-legged cats do so well that the saying is that cats are all born with a spare leg they don't actually need. If this is a recent condition, or if there are big changes in the cat's life (such as moving to a new home), just make sure to give them some extra time, support, and patience while they adjust. Amputation in cats can be really rough in the first couple of weeks, but soon enough they'll be sprinting around and jumping up on improbably high shelves.
Male cats are more prone than female cats to urinary blockages, which is one reason why I think it's important to actively clean the litter box yourself rather than using a robot. Changes in urinary output/pain while urinating/urinating outside the box can give you hints about a urinary blockage (a medical emergency in cats) or longer-term issues such as kidney disease, which can be managed with medication for quite some time as long as you know they're happening.
Cats are really good at hiding pain/illness, so it's important to be aware of signs of discomfort (sitting hunched with the neck extended can indicate difficulty breathing, whiskers extended stiffly from the face can indicate a grimace of pain, disruptions to routine such as avoiding beloved people or favorite spots, eating/drinking/litter box irregularity) and to ensure that you bring them to the vet on a regular basis to catch the stuff that might not be causing symptoms yet. Clara has a benign heart murmur and a little stiffness in one ventricle that requires her to visit a vet specialist every year or two to get an echocardiogram to check for any progression into heart disease (one in seven cats wind up with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which has a long median survival with presymptomatic treatment) - if those symptoms are ever present, we get her on medication early and it's unlikely to influence her lifespan for quite some time, whereas unmonitored and untreated, the first symptom would likely be sudden death. Knowing about this in advance also means that she has recommendations in her chart if she ever needs anesthesia for a different procedure. Having a regularly updated baseline at the vet means your cat is that much more likely to live a long, happy, healthy life.
The Day-to-Day:
Caring for cats is extremely fun, and the key is routine! Cats LOVE routine and will happily follow you around through your day-to-day. Clara is fed with an auto-feeder, which means she doesn't tend to pester me too much about food (and which means I can monitor how much she's eating and make adjustments as needed). She's prone to stress-induced stomach upset (aren't we all!) so she gets prescription food and some extra wet food with probiotics if I know something stressful is coming up soon. The auto-feeder dispenses food multiple times during the day, so she can't gorge herself and get sick.
For grooming, Clara does a pretty great job on her own, so I just have to brush her occasionally and every few weeks I will trim her claws. Do not declaw a cat! It's an amputation that is illegal in many states/countries and frequently results in chronic pain and behavioral problems such as an aversion to certain textures (a Major Problem if that texture includes litter...). If you can't trim a cat's claws on your own, try doing one or two at a time while they're sleeping - unlike with dogs, the quick is super visible on a cat's claws, so it's tough to mess up too badly. If all else fails, vets will trim claws for you, or can provide you with glue-on covers for the claws. I also brush Clara's teeth - you can get soft little toothbrushes and tasty-to-cats toothpaste, and even just them gnawing on the toothbrush can provide some benefit. Regular vet visits are also important to monitor any tooth decay that may occur. Cats can do well even with no teeth at all (the teeth are generally just for tearing pieces of prey, not chewing), but keeping those teeth healthy while they've got 'em is important, if only to avoid general anesthesia for a cleaning!
Most cats do very well without baths - so far, Clara has only needed a few little spot-cleans after minor accidents. Bathing is extremely stressful for most cats, so if necessary, I'd check out guides online to help reduce the stress levels. Many cats gradually lose the ability to keep themselves clean, so it's worth looking into, but don't expect to have to wash a cat as often as you would a dog by any means. (Unless you have a sphynx cat, of course...)
To help with scratching, provide scratchers for cats and keep them near the things you don't want the cat to scratch, as attractive alternatives (you can entice them with some catnip sprinkled on the scratchers!) - it's important to have both horizontal and vertical scratchers, since they exercise different muscles. Be aware, though, that bringing a cat into the home means that some of your furniture may be at risk. You can absolutely minimize the risk of damage, but I'd say you can almost never get rid of that risk completely.
Play is super important! I play with Clara throughout the day, but I also set aside some time every single evening to run around with her and really get her playing hard for a while (after which I clean her box, replace her water dishes, and go to bed - the importance of routine!). Cats aren't endurance hunters, but they require very little rest between bursts of energy, so hanging around for a bit with a toy even after you think they may be done is super valuable. Keep in mind that cats can get into life-threatening danger if they eat pieces of toys (strings, feathers, etc.) so it can be good to have some safe toys out all the time (e.g., foam balls) while the more dangerous ones (strings, feathers, etc.) are locked away when you're not actively playing.
Daily maintenance is pretty easy. I clean Clara's litter box at least once per day (which just involves scooping the contents into a bag that I then throw into the trash bin outside - less than 2 minutes/day) and do a deeper clean every week or two where I empty out all the litter and quickly scrub the box itself. Cats are lousy at remembering to drink, so I have three water bowls around the house - these get washed and replaced with fresh water every evening. Fountains are great for some cats (Clara had no interest) - some cats are obsessed with running water. Keeping water away from food can also help encourage cats to drink more. Apart from that, it's mostly just refilling the auto-feeder, attempting to tempt her with wet food (she's not a fan), and giving the occasional treat.
She also gets a monthly flea/tick preventative, which is just a couple drops of liquid that I apply at the base of her neck (usually while she's sleeping). She's an indoor-only cat, but bugs get inside and can transmit all sorts of bad stuff. Be warned that you should NEVER use a dog flea preventative on a cat - the dosage can be so high that it can cause a lot of harm. Make sure you have a correct dosage - ask your vet for more info.
And that's about it! In return for that minor maintenance, I get a silly little fluffy friend who follows me around and makes me laugh all day every day. She's gone from a really skittish little scaredy-cat to... well, still a skittish little scaredy-cat around most people, but around me she's affectionate and constantly looking for cuddles.
I hope this is in some way useful! I think a lot of people who don't consider themselves cat people would really enjoy having a cat - and even if you decide it's not for you, I hope you can appreciate and enjoy the other cats in your life!

Buttermander's Craft Sibling Headcanon Masterpost
Goob and Scraps are two of my fav toons and now I'm going to unleash my headcanons so everyone can use them.
Goob's fur will stand on end if you startle or or scare him. It looks ridiculous to behold
When she was first made Scraps had a habit of investigating random inanimate objects around Gardenview by clawing them
If presented with cardboard boxes the craft siblings will attempt to fit themselves into them due to instincts they claim they cannot control.
Scraps enjoys all sorts of arts and crafts projects in her spare time, although having claws means she has to be extremely careful to not tear things up on accident.
Given that goob's hands seem too heavy for him and his arms are literal cables, it is likely Deliliah Keen had to get specially made artifical arms for the craft
Goob originally spent several weeks with no arms after he was made until he was considered healthy enough to get the custom set attached to his body.
Adding onto the previous Headcanon Shelly gave Goob the nickname " G. Rex " during this time.
Goob and Scraps cannot resist the call of the ALMIGHTY RED DOT ( a laser pointer )
Both of the craft siblings are capable of purring when happy and it's adorable.
Scraps has to ensure her brother doesn't ingest too much caffeine in one sitting or else he will go nuts and his arms will get caught in everything in his warpath.
Trace amounts of DNA of actual house cats were used in the creation process of the siblings. Goob lacks a tail due to the Manx breed being his genetic source. Scraps meanwhile, has the genetic material component of a Domestic Shorthair. Only around 15 percent cat DNA makes up the crafts.
Without regular maintenance the craft siblings' claws can become " deadly weapons "
Goob and Pebble actually get along pretty well since the rock dog knows he can get a lot of attention from the younger of the two siblings
Goob used to have biting related issues that got worked out with time
Shrimpo can only really mess with Goob when Scraps is occupied because if he tries it she WILL claw his face.
Goob's fur has historically been a nightmare to maintain. Its required weekly brushing and he constantly ends up getting crumbs caught on his own fluff, especially in the large tuft around his neck.
Scraps' tail will wag around at hyper speed if she's really excited about something, the paper cup will make a lot of noise if she's standing near something by while doing this.
The siblings really enjoy the taste of fish, when Gardenview was still open sometimes they were caught raiding the freezer for an entire box of fish sticks.
Scraps has an entire hidden stash of yarn balls in the siblings' shared room, even if you manage to clear out her side of the room it's going to be covered in yarn again in a matter of minutes.
If you want more headcanons tell me what toon I should do next in the replies, I got some fun ones lying around. I just started with these two because they're my favorites. Also let me know which of my headcanons are your favorites I wanna know which ones the public likes the most.

I don't typically post personal stuff on my splat page but a family member's cat is in desperate need of emergency medical attention and I'm trying to spread the word to help wherever I can.
If you're able, please consider visiting her gofundme or spreading the word to help her!
If you donate, I will draw a little drawing of your pet as a thank you! Kirby is a wonderful little cat and she's fighting her hardest to hang on right now!

SLYTHERIN! ZEKE ★ masterlist.
part of the "hogwarts" series ੈ♡‧₊˚ starting with the older characters first and going down the list <33
when zeke got his Hogwarts letter, he was confused
confused because he had no idea he was even a wizard
the very last thing he expected to find out on his 11th birthday was that his dad was a wizard, and, oh yeah, before his mom died, she was a witch, too
so he's very cautious and doubtful about going to a magical boarding school, no matter how prestigious his dad keeps saying it is
who names their school Hogwarts anyway?
i don't even think zeke is 100% aware of the house prejudices until he gets sorted into Slytherin and realises the cute girl he met on the train no longer wants to go near him
but eventually as the years progress, zeke becomes less bothered by the people who actually care about what robes you wear and house you represent
and very quickly, everybody around him seems to follow suit
for zeke gains his own reputation very fast — and not for any of the reasons anyone expected
zeke is a little bit rude and sarcastic, which reminds whoever needs reminding of his house and how he ended up being sorted in Slytherin, but he's also very adaptable and enjoyable to be around, which is probably how everybody knows him, if not by face then almost certainly by name
he's theeee Hogwarts gossip; he knows everything about everyone and knows how to connect you to the people you need
want some magic mushrooms from Hufflepuff but got no friends in that house? dw, zeke knows a guy, and all you gotta do in return is tell zeke if that rumour is true or not 👀
definitely that Slytherin who younger students want to turn to for help or support
zeke has lost count how many times he's been forcibly dragged into petty arguments by the younger kids (although he loves the drama)
he's also that student who looks sooo much older than everybody else, which kind of automatically makes him an eccentric big brother figure to so many Slytherins
zeke doesn't give a single flying fuck about quidditch or other sports at Hogwarts, but you can guarantee he'll be up for a mean game of wizards chess against any student who dares ask
he's not even good at chess either — he always loses, especially against some of the major competitors in his year at Hogwarts like erwin or yelena
i don't believe he had a pet going to Hogwarts because his dad was like "i dont trust you" but later on when his lil brother gets a pet for his first year (not fair btw) zeke gets theeeee ugliest fattest toad possible just to spite everyone
but his frog kind of hates being essentially imprisoned in the Slytherin dungeons and so zeke ends up losing him somewhere
(one day he swims past the stained glass windows with the merpeople and zeke's just like…ok good for u)
his best class is actually ancient runes, though he's pretty good at muggle studies since his stepmom is a muggle and he was pretty much raised by her after his mama died and grisha got with carla a few yrs later
his patronus is a manx cat, though he kind of wanted a monkey since they're his favourite animals
when someone in Gryffindor puts up posters for a debate club, zeke is the first one there, stirring up drama and giving his thoughts
despite having his own very deep rooted opinions, zeke prefers to start an argument and let everybody else fight it
he never wears his robes correctly and is always being told off for having his shirt untucked or collar undone
and even though he cares very little for quidditch, you can guarantee that zeke has somehow acquired a quidditch jumper just because they look good
is the number 1 umbridge irritator — if the weasley twins aren't giving her more grey hairs, then zeke is
he is a yapper and cannot shut up or back down from an argument, even if he doesn't even believe in the point he's arguing for
his least favourite subject is charms, but simply because it's boring and always drags on before the end of their classes for the day
he must ALWAYS read the daily prophet whilst having breakfast
once both he and eren received a joint howler once that zeke deliberately didn't open for weeks and weeks until he forgot about it and it opened itself in the middle of the night
he's probably that student who calls the professors by their first names and despite getting endless detentions, he just doesn't stop
contrary to popular belief, zeke loves the library at Hogwarts but why tf is it so dark? he's forever falling asleep in there and has to be woken up by the librarian or one of the many ghosts
has no idea what he wants to do once Hogwarts is over — he feels like there's three jobs for wizards and none of them appeal to him, but he's got a while to figure it out yet, bless him

Outfit | Makeup | Hair style | nails
( ALL IN ENGLISH ) ( questions searched on the web about Sol)
"Hey, I'm Sol and this is the Wired Autocomplete interview," Sol said smiling. Sol was given aboard. A medium-sized board where the questions were stuck with a paper and she has to peel it off to open the question. “Let’s see what you all are curious about”
[ UPBEAT MUSIC ]
"Have you ever googled yourself before?" Interviewer.
"No. I try not to."
"Alright, first question," Sol said before carefully peeling off the sticker that was covering the full question that was searched on the web about her.
[ WHAT ]
"What is Sol’s full name? My full name is Solaire Victoria Raeya Ivanov and I know it's a long name. But my parents liked it." Sol answered and smiled.
"What does Sol like in a guy?" Sol chuckled at the question. "Wow, did someone actually search this on the web?" Sol asked as she looked at her staff behind the camera and giggled. "What I like in a guy is honesty and just be good to me."
"What is Sol’s net worth?" Sol smiled at the question. "why do you guys care about this? but to be honest I don't even know what my net worth is."
"What is Sol's zodiac sign?" "Aquarius, I am. Fun fact, I actually share a birthday with Rosé. I was told recently about some of the characteristics of the Aquarius. Think I maybe have like, three of eight."
"What is Sol's phone number?" "That is a question I won't be answering. I don't give my number to anyone. So, it is maybe impossible to get my number. Sorry." Sol said and smiled blandly.
"What is Sol's accent?" Sol laughed at the question. "Honestly I have no idea. I would say British on most occasions. it also depends on where I go. When I got to America. my accent changes to American English and when I'm in Paris, I speak in a Parisian accent. Or these days it feels like I’m getting Aussie accent because of Rose. It is a bit confusing I don't know what my accents are." Sol chuckled.
"What is Sol doing right now?" Sol exhaled and chuckled " Talking to you. that's so funny people would google that. what is Sol doing now, like Google's gonna know"
"What was Sol's first song?" "The very first song I wrote was for my mom on her birthday when I was like six years old, and it was about when I grow up, can I be as pretty as you? when I grow up, can I wear your dress? and still, my parents and my siblings make fun of me sometimes."
Sol throws the medium-sized board on the floor and grabs the one handling to her.
[ DOES ]
"Does Sol have pets?" " Yes, I have 4 pets, three dogs and one cat. I have Shiba Inu named Cain, Samoyed named Chico, white Pomeranian Cece, and a Manx cat named Cleo. I adopted all of them from a rescue shelter. They are my angels."
"Does Sol speak Spanish?" Sol smiled. "Yes, I can speak Spanish because I taught myself and I'm proud of myself for doing that because I can now communicate with my fans who speak Spanish," Sol said and continued smiling as she peeled off the sticker that covers the next question and read it.
"Does Sol play guitar?" "Yes, I do play guitar. In fact, I play a lot of instruments. My grandpa taught me how to play the Violin and Piano. during my trainees days, I learned to play drums, electric guitar, ukulele, recorder, flute, and Saxophone recently. since I have much free time this year because of the pandemic, I spend my time mostly learning new instruments and learning online." Sol answered and nodded.
"Does Sol has tattoos?" "That’s a secret" she giggles, “but I do, I have four tattoos and each one of them has a meaning.”
"Does Sol watch anime?" "Do, and my top three animes are the seven deadly sins, my hero academia, and One Piece."
“Does Sol know how to play games?” “Yes, I love playing games. It’s my hobby.”
[ CAN ]
"Can Sol sing?" Sol laughed at the question. " I bloody hope so, otherwise I have no idea what I'm doing here."
"Can Sol rap?" "Yes, I can rap. I’m the lead rapper in the group."
"Can Sol drive?" "I can drive. I actually passed my driving test the first time. I do really love the freedom of just getting in your car and going wherever you want."
"Can Sol come to my birthday party?" Sol laughed."I wish I could but I think you would have to speak to my agency and my manager about that."
"Can I date Sol?" Sol laughed and grinned. the staff also laughed "that's an interesting question. Maybe but I think you would have to speak to my agency and my manager about that too." Sol said and shrugged with a chuckle.
[ HOW ]
“Okay last board, How old is Sol?" Sol read off as she peeled the tap. "I'm 26 years old."
"How to get Sol's face?" Sol laughed. "Seriously? I don't know. surgery, I think?" Sol said and shrugged with a chuckle.
"How did Sol become famous?" Sol chuckled. " by releasing good music."
"How many languages can Sol speak?" Sol smiled. "I can speak 7 languages. Korean, English, Japanese, French, Mandarin, Spanish, and Russian I'm hoping to learn Thai and German by next year." Sol answered.
“How does Sol stays in shape? By working out.” She stated. “I don’t like dieting and I was extremely bad at it. When I was training to be a singer, I had this extremely diet and I just failed. I couldn’t resist my love for ice cream.”
“How does Sol keep her hair healthy?” She smiled, “I use a specially made shampoo and conditioner provided by my wonderful stylist aka Lina.”
“Well, that’s it?.” She asked, throwing the cardboard away when the staff members nodded. “It’s been fun! They weren’t as scary as I thought they would be.”
“I hope you enjoyed the video, thank you. Mwah.” She says, staring directly into the lens and blowing a kiss at it.

I'm surprised my rescued Manx kitty hasn't gotten my family a lawsuit cos he's been whooping the ass of every loose pet in the neighborhood as soon as he can fly past me. This cat must have been a professional boxer in a past life or something.
He's also a major cuddle goblin yet he's a menace to every living creature that gets in his way.
And he has the sweetest sounding meow that doesn't fit his ass-kicking feline reputation at all.
We still love him though. He was nearly dying at 3 weeks old due to a bunch of health issues due to inbreeding by shitty ass breeders. Him being alive and so strong is a miracle tbh.
I had to take care of him more than a newborn human baby. Bottle feeding him, massaging his tummy to help him digest, keep him close to my chest for warmth as well as bonding since he was taken from his mom too soon.
Now... He's fighting bigger animals and then demanding cuddles after his mayhem.
#personal#pets#cats#the neighborhood knows him by now and don't mess with him#he stares menacingly from the windows if they get too close LMAO#he also cares for other cats as long as they're kittens

MCtober2024: Week 4
The Mirror of Erised
Damien grew up as an only child in very affluent Muggle Mayfair. Before he was shipped off to Eton (the all-boys school he attended before Hogwarts), he lived in a massive estate and was quite lonely. His mother died when he was an infant, and his father was always working, so the only people around were the servants, all of whom steered clear of their ill-humored master's son. Suffice it to say, Damien sees himself with Sebastian surrounded by a brood of adopted children. His deepest desire is to one day have a family of his own, so he's never alone again. 🥹
Damien's Patronus
Damien's Patronus is a Manx Cat.
Here's a fantastic blurb from the website Hogwarts Is Here, which also describes Damien's personality perfectly:
"The Manx cat is a very special breed of cat, as they don’t have a tail! They are also… a ‘watch-cat,’ as they will growl in a threatening way if anybody seeks to harm them or their owner. They’re even tempered and affectionate creatures that like to follow their favorite person (...*cough* Sebastian *cough*) and help where they can... Having this feline as a Patronus means you find being allowed to show off your abilities a comfort to ... your ego (though it isn’t a big one, you do have one!) ... [and] you find comfort in abnormality. You are one of a kind and you love it. You are independent and self-sufficient, and will always take time out to take care of yourself. This doesn’t make you selfish at all – you can be good around people and can be a good friend – but you also are proud of who you are even despite any of your eccentricities. If anything, you flaunt what makes you different."
Damien's Boggart
Himself, powerless and weak, his loved ones laying dead at his feet. He was not able to protect them. 😭😭😭
#MCtober2024#week four#hogwarts legacy#hogwarts legacy mc#damien evans#these prompts hurt my heart#but that's how it is sometimes#😭😭😭#on a happier note: I used the male version of my own face as the reference for Sebastian so that was uhhh new 😅

*bursts into the room tugging a wheeled cat carrier in behind me*
Rigel! I have a kitty for you. Antares, still working on your bud. Got a few options but nothing concrete yet. *opens the cat carrier while wearing thick-ish gloves to pick up a mostly black cat with a white chin and some spot of darker black spots on his face and sides. He has a few scars on his back and thighs. Also has green eyes and a little nub of a tail (manx)* This is Hades. He grew up on a farm before it got foreclosed on. He herded and protected chickens which included fighting a fox or two which is where the scars are from. Uh he does bite sometimes if he's mad (thus my protective gloves for my human hands). idk if there is anything prey like around here, but if there is, you will probably receive dead presents once he likes you.
Rigel: Yes! Oh he looks so rowdy. A little fighter! Little farm man. He's got no tail? He's a little stump. Little black and gray stub. He knows how to be rough tough it sounds like. Fighting foxes. He won't bite me. Not that it's going to hurt. Lunar made sure of that. Oh goodness I hope he will let me take him with me.
Antares: It can't be that hard to find an exquisite cat. Are you just looking the lowlands?
Rigel: Well maybe if you weren't so specific about your perfect little stary cat, You would have gotten one earlier.
Antares: It doesn't literally have to be stars! Just gorgeous, and reflective of the night.
Rigel: Still more specific than goth.
Antares: You!
Black Star: Oh hey you got a cat too. Wow they were really serious about that.
Rigel: Yah. And he's jelly that I got mine before him.
Antares: Gerrrr
Black Star: I'm sure you'll get yours sooner or later Antares. Pretty sure Cygnus is hiding away with his. Kind of vanished, But as long as he's happy that's fine. I'm sure you'll probably do the same Rigel. Got to take care of your fuzzy. What are you going to name them?
Rigel: Agghh... Rock?
Antares: Rock?
Rigel: Well he looks like a rock.
Antares: .....
Black Star: Just let him have it. Little Rock.
Rigel: Rough rock!
Black Star: Rough rock.
#As you can see there is a time skip. basically Rigel and Antares are in the Pizza Plex hallways after Rigel cooled off.#ask#antares#rigel#black Star#Cygnus#sulky star cluster

Hey there, I need some help!
Normally I don't do these sort of things because I have no need and I'm kind of a self kept person, but things are getting extra dicey and I need a place I feel would get spread around better on.
Gonna go ahead and warn you all ahead of time, this story contains mention of abuse in many different forms, so if these things trigger you, I'm sorry. I have to mention it.
I'm telling a story that isn't exactly mine, but it means more to me than I can say. I hope you all can believe me when I put this out, because it all sounds farfetched, but I couldn't make this up if I tried. I hope you all will listen.
My fiancé is a few states apart from me. We've known each other for about 12+ years, and have been dating for a few of those years.
In those years, he's had it really rough, being in a family that was either abusive, not present, or oppressive in some fashion (they were the "pray the gay away" types). Recently, the person who was taking care of him passed away of cancer, and he has been staying with a friend of his.
This family was good for a little bit, but the father was an alcoholic, very toxic and verbally abusive to everyone. His addiction is what eventually killed him, and he has left the family high and dry on money for anything.
There is a reason this is important information.
Throughout these years, he's had a cat, a Tortoise shell manx, about 6 years old. Her name is Kiki. She is rather feisty, yelling at the top of her little lungs if you so much as pat her rear-end wrong. She has been with him all this time.
As of recent, however, she has become sick. She has been found to have a rather large bladder stone and gets worse by the day. He doesn't have the ability to get it immediately taken care of.
I want to help him raise the money needed to help with surgery for her. Anything at all helps. It's much appreciated if you could share the story around as well. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.

World Building for my Shapeshifting Au
No one probably cares (personal opinion, I'm worried bout annoying people with my thoughts and rambles), but I wanted to share my world building that I have so far? I also have notes about specific scenes and there isn't gonna be any character death... maybe... so no Bob dying, which means no church (maybe), but yee....
At the time of starting my world building notes, it wasn't decided the idea would be an outsiders one (was debating with myself because I'm in a writing event and one of the prompts was shapeshifters and... well... one thing led to another and... there's a lot of notes about my AU.
Shapeshifters AU, maybe an Outsiders Fic, where everyone can ‘come into’ their animal that they can shapeshift into once they reach a certain age. Love the idea that certain circumstances would change when or how you shapeshift for the first time.
Example, Johnny, he's 16 and only shapeshifted (he's a cat) because he felt safe at the Curtis house. This takes place after he’s jumped, the gang had created an extremely safe space for him and after being jumped it ‘clicked’ almost, that the Curtis residence was home so he shapeshifted for the first time (ironically, on Ponyboy since he had been half laying against his friend)
Well fed, loved, cared for children typically get their animal at 10, 12 at the latest if they are late bloomers. So West side kids typically get their animal at 10-12 years of age. East side kids are all between the ages of 13-18 (18 being the absolute last chance you have to get your animals, once you reach 19, you are considered 'defective')
Most siblings are typically the animal, but obviously they all look different. Most people take after their parents, some maybe a grandparent or great grandparent. Rarely do they become an animal not already in the direct family tree (i.e. from great-great grandparent to great grandparent, to grandparent, to parent, to child)
People also have some sort of characteristic of their animal somewhere on their body. Johnny has ‘toe beans’ on his hands and feet and he has permanent access to his claws at all times (the threat of declawing is a very real thing, also, claws are not the same thing as nails), Darry has the eyes and sense of smell as his dog counterpart; he can’t see colors through human eyes, only dogs view, he also has the nails and dog toe beans on his feet.
People also have their instincts at all times, just as their human self they are very quiet and toned down. (can still make their respective animals sounds though, Sodapop purrs loudly when he’s happy. Both Soda and Johnny also knead people, with their hands.) People can also keep parts of their animal on them on purpose (Sodapop loves his ears, and Johnny keeps his claws and ears, and Dally also keeps his claws).
If Ponyboy is a deer, he’ll have tiny horns just at all times (no more than three or four inches) in his hair, and he’ll have the instincts a little stronger than the rest of the gang. Also, he ends up able to run faster after his animal comes in. He also cries a little easier, even if he tries his absolute hardest not to, it makes him cry even more because he cries so easily. Johnny’s the only one able to calm him down when he gets worked up like that, not even Sodapop is able to help. Someone suggested a Manx, and I love that. I’m gonna have to do a bit of research on Manx’s, because I love the description of “Cat that acts like a dog the size of an ankle biter” but I need some more than that LMFAO, love the vision though.

1/7 of The Amazing Galactic Circus - Pomni!
(The clothes are placeholders for now, I don’t know what to do with them yet)
Thank you @pomni-xddcc for answering my question about what animals you’d be!
I based Pomni on a Meowing Night Frog (because, you know, cat-frog) and a Manx Cat (because they don’t have tails, and apparently are good at noticing and taking care of things out of place (like mice))
Notes on Pomni:
Her ears and eyes are her most expressive parts
Her mouthmost of the time looks nervous because her species doesn’t have that many expressive face muscles
Her favorite food is a type of aquatic animal similar to a fish that’s found on her planet that tastes like salmon
Notes on Pomni’s species:
They are quadrupedal, but can stand up on their hind legs to do stuff with their hands, but they can’t exactly walk like this
They have sensitive skin
They do have thumbs and claws (easier to use tools and catch food that way)
They’re pretty good at fishing (not with something like a fishing rod, but by going into the water and hunting them that way)
They are obligate carnivores, primarily eating aquatic animals and bugs
They have blue eyes, and ears similar to a cat’s, so they’re able to notice small changes in their environment better
Like most species, they don’t have eyebrows
#sorry for all the run on sentences/sentences with too much punctuation#i need to work on that#AAAArt {art}#my brain is a pinball machine {ideas}#the amazing galactic circus#tadc pomni#the amazing digital circus#I researched the cat but only looked at pictures of the frog#space#space au#humans are space orcs#< sorta but there likely won’t actually be any humans that show up#tadc au#borker’s museum {my posts}
