실내에서 타는 리얼 트랙킹! '바이크 트레드밀'

요즘 도심에서 자전거를 타는 사람들을 쉽게 만나볼 수 있다. 현재 우리나라 자전거 트래킹 인구는 이미 1,200만명을 넘어섰다. 자전거의 최대 단점은 아마도 지리적, 기후적 상황에 크게 영향을 받는다는 점일 것이다. 길이 평탄하지 않거나, 비나 눈이 오면 자전거 트래킹에 많은 제약이 발생한다.

그러나 자전거를 실내에서 탈 수만 있다면 이런 문제를 극복할 수 있다. 아래의 동영상처럼 말이다. 러닝머신이 실내에서 사람들을 달리게 했다면 '트레드밀'은 자전거를 실내에서 달리게 만든다.

위  동영상의 주인공은 독일의 크로스컨트리 마운틴 바이커인 '마누엘 퓨믹(Manuel Fumic)'으로 러시아의 자전거 전문회사 '벨로핵(Velohack)'이 개발한 '바이크 트레드밀(Bike Treadmill)' 위에서 자전거를 타고 있다.

바이크 트레드밀은 실내의 공간에 너비가 넓은 벨트로 된 바닥을 모터로 회전시켜 그 위에서 자전거가 회전 방향과 반대 방향으로 달리게 하는 시스템이다.

과거 출시되었던 미국의 '인사이드라이드(Insideride)'라는 회사의 '이-모션 롤러스(E-Motion Rollers)'라는 제품과 유사하지만 더 공간이 넓고, 여러 명이 함께 탈 수 있는 점이 특징이다.

또한 전방의 스크린을 통해서 자신의 주행습관이나 ���세, 주행 거리 등의 정보를 받을 수 있어 현재 많은 프로 선수들까지 이용을 하고 있는 실정이다.

앞으로 바이크 트레드밀이 실내 스크린 골프장처럼 더욱 리얼한 자전거 트래킹이 가능한 기능과 모습으로 상용화된다면 더 많은 사람들에게 더 큰 인기를 끌 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Prologo uses carbon fibre for its hull construction and the hull itself changes thickness, getting significantly thinner towards the central channel.

The stepped-down nose has a box section underneath into which the rails are bonded. At the rear, Prologo uses its U-Clip system where you can add a mount point for a variety of accessories.

The NDR in the name means this version comes with deeper high-density padding. It was developed for mountain bike cross-country world champion Manuel Fumic, but is aimed at on- and off-road.

Even with the extra padding, the 207.1g weight is suitably light. The P.A.S.(perineal area system) channel is one of the best designs around; wide, well-shaped and running the full length of the saddle.

The real winner here is the CPC cover. The tiny volcano-shaped rubberised tubes offer incredible grip in the wet and give the surface a more fluid feel. In hot weather the separation from the saddle surface keeps you comfortable.
