Life Through Death - Pt 1G - Promo - Pastor Mahesh
Get busy with your own work instead of waiting for things to be favorable, or looking at what others are doing.  Work with your hands while you can, knock on every door possible, and don't feel shame for whatever you can do to provide for yourself and your family.
The Bible teaches us that if we are lazy and do not work, we are worse than the unbeliever.  God will bless the work of your hands.  This is a promise not only for men but also for women.

Roles and responsibilities according to the situation.
In rural areas women often engage themselves as a manual labour to support their families by leaving their toddlers at home, and there comes the role of elder siblings to look after them and taking care of their siblings as a mother.

Happy Birthday, Lizzie
or,  Why Mycroft’s grateful for the long weekend.
Mycroft ground his teeth in irritation. His driver shouldn’t have been working with such a weak back – the paramedics on scene with the police had sent him home with pain medication and an amused smile. Most drivers do not injure themselves changing a tyre.
While standing staring at the half completed job, Mycroft considered his options. Given the long weekend – Queen’s Birthday, hottest of the year – most of his staff were on leave, and he was loathed to interrupt it for something as menial as this.
On the other hand, he was hardly dressed for manual labour.
On the other other hand, the car could not stay here all afternoon.
With a sigh, Mycroft resigned himself to call roadside assistance. The wait would be long but it was unavoidable.
“Need a hand?” The voice was that of the devil, offering sweet temptation to a man sorely in need of the sweet fruit.
“Not at all, Detective Inspector,” Mycroft replied. “I’m sure roadside assistance will be here soon.”
“Yeah, right,” Greg replied, already loosening his tie and shucking his jacket. “You’ll be lucky to be out of here before dark.”
“Honestly,” Mycroft began, but Greg waved him off, picking up the tyre iron.
“The team’s gone, I’m not even meant to be here, so let me help you out,” Greg said, grunting as the stubborn nuts refused to give. “You need to tell your mechanic not to tighten these so much. There’s safe and then there’s overkill,” he said, finally getting the last nut to budge.
The first trickle of sweat rolled leisurely down Greg’s temple. Mycroft watched its progress with interest. It was soon joined by others, as Greg manhandled the flat tyre off and the spare tyre on. It was fascinating watching him work. He moved with confidence, the muscles of his arms and back shifting fluidly under the cotton of his shirt.
Mycroft burned with the sudden need to see the bare skin contract and stretch without the clothes hampering his view. As Greg stretched his hand to reach the nut, dark fabric showed under his arm.
Mycroft swallowed hard. His eyes roved to the back of the tanned neck, droplets of moisture collecting like diamonds in the sun before collecting to slide down and be absorbed by the cotton shirt.
The sheer maleness of it was breath-taking. The physical labourer in all his glory. Grunts of effort, forged metal clanging against metal, the sheen of sweat evidence of Greg’s effort on Mycroft’s behalf.
It was possibly the most arousing thing Mycroft had ever witnessed. Alas, it could not last forever.
“There you go,” Greg said, examining the tyre. “Yeah, there you go, run over a nail.”
He pointed, glancing up as though expecting Mycroft to come and view the damage first hand. Dutifully Mycroft did so, more for the opportunity to breathe deeply, the smell of automotive grease and deodorant and sweat combining in a heady mixture.
“Thank you,” Mycroft murmured, eyes catching on the image of Greg, white teeth in tanned skin, eyes bright with the satisfaction of a job complete. His hair, now a little damp, spiked more than usual. Mycroft gripped his umbrella, resisting the urge to feel it.
And now that he watched, the face he had been cataloguing changed. The expression became calculating, then blossomed into understanding – and a knowing smirk.
“You know,” Greg said, slamming the boot on the flat tyre, “I could really do with a shower now.” He flashed Mycroft a cheeky grin. “Any idea where I could find one of those?”
Mycroft’s heart jumped into his mouth, and he swallowed hard to restore anatomical geography.
“Certainly,” he replied. At Greg’s obvious delight, he added, “though it is a complex system. You may need some assistance.”
“I would say I do,” Greg replied. “Perhaps you can get your hands dirty this time, Mister Holmes.”

Day 122 – Not our day
We had a rough night’s sleep again. J was still bothered by her allergic reaction and S was too hot to sleep. The hotel had replaced our bedding with ‘hypoallergenic’ bedding yesterday, and S found it uncomfortable to sleep in.
At some point in the morning, S was heading out of the bathroom when he slipped and nearly fell to the ground. A large puddle of water had collected on the marble floor of our room from a water leak in the ceiling. We began packing our things and called down to the hotel to ask them to move us to a new room. After a bit of faff, we were moved to a room on another floor with an ocean view. It is not amazing, but at least we are not having water issues (for now).
We went down for breakfast and J actually liked her omelette. The grapefruit was oddly desiccated and sour – we think it wasn’t fully ripe.
J realised she needed to soak and then rinse all of the laundry done at the Zuri in our bathtub as it was causing an allergic reaction. We did this. It took a while as there were multiple loads. The process required lots of manual labour, which is not our forte. S had to double wring out everything by hand after J had had the first go, to maximise the chance the clothing would dry. The compounding problem is that today was extremely overcast and rainy, so nothing is drying.
We were supposed to go to Prisoner Island today, but cancelled it due to the poor night’s sleep. We’ve rebooked for tomorrow (or so we thought).
As we were finishing up the admin and getting ready to head off to the bar, we got another surprise from Kenya Airways. Our flight on the 31st to Nairobi had been cancelled and they had kindly rebooked us on the 1st. The problem with that is that our flight from Nairobi to Cape Town remained on the 31st. We spent a number of hours trying to deal with Kenya Airways and find our own solution to this problem as they were useless. We even went down to the Concierge to ask him to help. He tried, but the Zanzibar branch of Kenya Airways was closed, so he suggested we try in the morning. At this point, we have no clue as to how we are getting to Cape Town. The only option appears to be Ethiopian Airlines. This would require 4 flights and wouldn’t get us in until a day later. Not ideal.
After finally exhausting options for today and still having no clear path to South Africa, we decided to go to dinner. We went back to our favourite, Beach House. We tried to sit next to the beach in our normal seat and were told it was going to rain, so we might want to sit away from the beach. Rain was an understatement. Shortly after we got our meal, a tropical deluge unleashed. Even our closer-to-the-main-area seats were getting soaked by the horizontal rain. We decided to move inside for another drink or two to wait out the rain. In the meantime, the staff bustled about trying to get chairs and tables inside to seat more guests. Our food was again, great. S had the chicken quesadilla, which started out spicy and got ultra fiery once he dipped it in the hot sauce, which he had thought was salsa. J had the Zanzibar pizza.
We headed back to the hotel after the rain died down and passed out from exhaustion, still not knowing how we were going to get to South Africa. We both thought that the allergy was going away, but it appears to have returned.
Who did we piss off to have a day like today?

Life Through Death - Pt 1F - Promo - Pastor Mahesh
The main reason why the West prospers is that they take pride in working with their hands.  Subsequently, they also honor those who supply for their families through manual labour. The first job given to Adam was not to worship, pray, or invent anything, but rather to take care of the garden.

Toms second submission @tombradleyphoto to our Issue 4 open call. The next generation of Shoot Film UK publications. From the project 'On the Bed of the River' Shot in Jaflong, Bangladesh, Tom describes his series: "Rather than concentrating on the manual labour, and thereby depicting the workers as cogs in a machine, this piece aims to examine the quieter moments of these temporary work placements: individuals taking midday naps in their makeshift tents, those watching the world unfurl as they stop to take a break, and the various isolated structures in the stark surroundings." Shot with Rolleiflex 2.8f, on Kodak Portra 400. Check out his and other submissions to our open calls at www.shootfilm.uk Got a series you're working on or something complete you'd like to share, why not submit to Issue 4, deadline November 1st 2017. Be sure to visit Tom's profile and website to see his other great series. What are they? These are the famous Chinese Fishing Nets in the beautiful city of @kochigrams . For the first timers or for the people who have never heard abt it they might mistake it for gigantic kite only hung upside down and with loads of holes in it. The sheer size of these fishing nets simply took my breath away. The way their dock on which these massive nets stand have been standing for ages and not with the new age technology boss mind it, they still take care of these nets the same way their fathers and their forefathers had taken the good old ways. Their dock stands firmly on coconut tree trunks erected near to the beach where it is neither too shallow or too deep for the natural based foundation to be put up, and platform made of wood, for holding the use of nets they have used bamboos, for cantilever they have again used coconut tree trunks, ropes and rocks which can be hung on the other side to act as counterweight. Though the catch from these nets are not that much but the fun and adrenaline rush during the whole catching scenario is simply breathtaking. And the best part is if you catch the fish you can take it to a nearby stall who will than make fish for you. The best time as suggested to me by a fisherman to come there for fishing is either in the night or when the tides are calm as that's the time they lower down the nets for protecting nets due to rough tides.@incredibleindia @inside_india_tour @keralagodsowncountry @keralatourism @kochigrams @kochidiariesofficial @riderz_of_cochin @official_photographers_hub @photographers.of.india @foto4everofficial @trell.community @tripotocommunity @natgeotravel #biketour #incredibleindia #incredibleindiaofficial #southindia #coastalindia #kerala #keralagodsowncountry #keralaattraction #kochi #kochidiaries #kochigram #fortkochi #fishingnets #chinesefishingnets #naturalmaterials #fish #fishing #gigantic #manuallabour #oldschool #natgeotravel #natgeoindia #cntraveler #ghumakkad #ghumakkadlife #trell #tripotocommunity #phonephotography #redminote4 #bikersofindia #riderofinstagram #royalenfieldriders #Gypsybaba (at Mahatma Gandhi Beach At Fort Kochi) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvfuXePFf_Q/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hle9gofmfj6

Today I've been out collecting ash and sycamore trunks for future wood working, that are now waiting to be slabbed up at Nettlebed sawmill. This kind of extraction is sometimes known as horse logging, except I forgot the horse!! 😄 . . . #localcraft #localtimber #locallysourced #handcrafted #manuallabour #timberextraction #thisrurallife #partoftheprocess #localprovenance #growninbritain #nativetimber #lovewood #lovemywork #horselogging #woodenbowls #bowlturner #woodturner #ash #sycamore #nettlebedsawmill #sawmill #sustainablebydesign #sustainablysourced #supportsmallbusiness https://www.instagram.com/p/BsyJvR9gZg3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=y5edwnclfjbg

The Global Staffroom
The Global Staffroom is a live podcast hosted by Manual Labours (Jenny Richards and Sophie Hope) involving conversations and interviews with people about what it feels like to care, be cared for, not be able to care at work. What does ‘staff room’ mean to you? We are hoping the Global Staff Room will, over time, be a space to connect people from different workforces and geographies and that members can air their experiences and concerns with each other. We want to explore issues such as the architecture of home-work, racialised experiences of lockdown, emotional labour of care and health workers, social reproduction and remote working.
The Global Staffroom builds on Manual Labours Manual Building as Body in which the social reproduction of the institution was the site of most concern and struggle in which care and maintenance of the worker and between workers was overlooked and unsupported. Conversations around social reproduction at work were expanded upon within a series of workshops with workers without a staffroom or workplace. Questions of our extended reproductive systems led us to think about how can we connect up with a Global Staffroom of workers upon which our work depends on.
