Sam uses Dean's caretaker mode to trick him into taking care of himself when things get really bad. He'll exaggerate how physically hurt or mentally unwell he is to try to nudge Dean in the right direction. It's his only solution since Dean refuses to be cared for. Being Dean's little brother is a full-time job.

Dean isn't eating? When Dean serves him food, Sam immediately gets to work. "I don't know, Dean. I don't think I can stomach a full meal right now🥺" "You need to eat. Come on, Sam. One bite for me. One bite for you, okay?" "Okay🥹" He got Dean to eat a little.

Dean isn't showering? Okay, it's showtime! "You're going to bed like this? No shower first?" "Not with how shaky my legs are. The last thing I need right now is cracking my skull open in the shower." "Yeah no I'm not letting you sleep caked in mud and blood. Come on, Sammy. I'll help you. You'll feel better afterwards" "Okay🙄" Dean had to get in the shower with him to not flood the entire bathroom. Mission accomplished.

Dean isn't sleeping enough or, worse, not at all? He got this! "Just go to bed, Sam. You can’t even see straight." "Can't. Nightmares." "You need to try at least." "You'll wake me up if I have a nightmare?" "Yeah" They go to his room and Dean sits next to him on the bed. Eventually, he falls asleep too and they both get a full night of sleep

You'd think people who empathize with Sam wanting a normal life would be the most pleased with decisions Sam has made and be more alert on seeing the cycle of manipulation and abuse John has created that seeps into Dean's treatment of Sam. But no, it's always Sam is a terrible for wanting something best for himself or even struggling to cope with a life that he wasn't made for.

i joke all the time about calling sam baby boy or innocent little guy but just so we are clear im joking

sam is fucking 6'4, covered head to toe in scars, went to hell and back (like, three times??), weighs like 200 pounds of pure muscle, has weird ass tattoo on his chest, fights like a professional, carries around about 3 diferent weapons on him

the only thing "little" on him is his title of "little brother" (if you know what i mean *wink wink*) and everytime i see people geniuely treating him as a clueless little baby who has to rely on his big brother to breathe it pisses me off so much because its just not like that

dean relies on sam much more than sam relies on dean (hence why he had a tantrum when he learned that sam could live without him) which is not necessarily a bad thing but you guys dont know how to read characters and it makes me mad
