Our idea is to mix Italian excellences with local products, this is the reason we use Bronte pistachios, Piedmont hazelnuts and Italian cheeses together with as many American products as possible, always giving priority to the Californian products to promote and sustain local farms. We usually serve between 12 and 16 flavors of gelato and sorbets, and some of them are seasonal.

We also serve vegan gelato to provide options for all our customer's dietary restrictions. We are absolutely against the use of products containing alginates, carrageenans, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids and vegetable fats (especially hydrogenated, coconut oil and palm oil) except cocoa butter, which is an ingredient of chocolate, and we don’t alter the taste or appearance of gelato using artificial flavors or food colorants.

Fro-yo girl here. Frutti isn’t an offshoot of Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, although the name and logo strongly remind me of TF. Frutti is an independently owned self-serve froyo shop that opened in 2009 and was one of the first in the area. It’s still around ten years later, not bad.

From the signs and posters, it’s clear that they serve Dannon YoCream frozen yogurt. The green square tile wall is reminiscent of Yogurtland, while the wavy white wall is the same as Menchie’s. The owners aren’t terrible creative. The zigzag wood floor is different but it doesn’t match the rest of the décor.

There are 12 flavors a day and toppings for 56 cents an ounce. It seems a little pricey for South Gate but not crazy. Toppings were not labeled but the toppings bar was clean. They included fresh fruit, dried fruit, popping boba, mochi, chocolate chips, yogurt chips, cookies, brownies, nuts, marshmallows, Takis, sprinkles, and syrups. Ask for sample cups. I did and I received two cups.
