I will say I think being on social media in fandom spaces rather than using it for whatever else as a teen did help me to learn to currate my own experiences. Like some people will act like they're being held hostage by the people they follow 'urgh our ex manager is ranting on sc again, it makes me so uncomfortable' 'okay? Block him, you shouldn't have your manager on social media in the first place' 'no I can't thats mean' '??? He's in your phone?' like why are you allowing people you don't like to invade your personal spaces in your free time???
#Social media#i dont get it people act like im being an asshole for it 'oh whyd ypu block me' but like its my phone its none of your business what i do#i once unadded one of my older cousins on sc cus she was consistently posting really self depravating quotes ya know the ones#and it was not good for my own mental health you are responsible for your own online experiences just as you are your own mental health#i was bullied as a kid i got 8 siblings and less than stellar parents im not having people on social media that make me feel shitty#ive already played those games im not returning to that rodeo#i did not have sc or insta as a teen only ever had twitter for fandom content and as you can see im only tumblr#so i learnt about fandom etiquette and am now applying it elsewhere im not arguing with people online or letting them make me feel shitty#everyone gets a block#get comfortable with blocking people its good for you#also you should never have bosses or managers on social media i dont care no exception#id also advise against adding those coworkers youre not friends with if theyre prone to snitching because most will throw you under the bus

This is how I feel about censoring words like rape, suicide, murder, kill, ect.
When we take away the power that these words/art has, and we sanitize it, then they lose their power and this is why we have so many people online (and off!!) who are way too comfortable with making "kys/unalive yourself" jokes and wishing death on people for whatever small slight that they deemed worthy of wishing harm on that person/people.
On the flip side, if you're uncomfortable with saying any of these in conversation without sanitizing it, (r*pe, su*cide, m*rder, k*ll*, or my personal favorite /disgusted sarcasm/ "unalive", etc) then maybe you're not mature enough to be talking about said topics?
And I get that "we want to make everything comfortable for everybody, every day, all the time!" but when we're too accommodating in this kind of situation, then we are taking away the onus and responsibility of the person/people triggered by those words/topics to curate their own experience and removing themselves from the situation.
Online, it's literally as easy as blocking, backspacing, and/or/also physically removing yourself from the conversation.
But whatever you do, do not make it everyone's else's problem because you found some content that is "icky" to you. :/
I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

Free my man "don't tag as x" it asks the viewer for minimal respect of the creator's squick with 100x the courtesy of "x fans dni"
#mine#random#shitpost#discourse#(?)#ask to tag#warning for rant in the tags#baffles me that the two are treated as synonymous when they really aren't#it's also more manageable to verify than a dni because it only requires looking at your notes (which you probably already do)#vs wasting time energy & mental wellbeing to see if the person posted x however long ago#like if you stumble upon it by chance and block bc that's how you curate your online experience that's one thing#but scrolling through someone's blog to check if the vibes are off is just gonna drain you. treat yourselves better than that#also that way there's less fear of casting judgment on someone when the squick in question is undoubtedly not that big of a deal#but still makes you uncomfy anyways (of course that is what a squick is in the first place. but I digress)#also also @ the people who treat it as some monumental task to not add a fucking tag to their reblog. lmao. skill issue#''oOoH when I see someone say not to add X tag I get sOoOoO tempted to--'' you are a fucking tar pit#(bonus points for hypocrisy if your blog is 90% posts about not being mean to ppl over their tastes in things)#delete later#maybe

When I think of Moral Ships, I am suddenly reminded of how puritans sailed to America in 1630 to infect it with their arbitrary views of what is right and wrong and how pervasive that mindset is today in 2023.
A lasting legacy that divides people in fandom to the point that it harms the marginalized lgbtqia+ community with false accusations over what is "perceived" to be morally wrong without any critical thinking skills or nuance.
How these are further passed the pipeline to create a toxic space in fandoms. Suddenly any fanfiction that depicts anything that can be seen as "gross" or "problematic" is suddenly something to add to the fires.
There is poison in the well and that poison is being fed by conservatives who desire only to oppress and control through fear mongering.
Fandom is becoming a warzone.
There is a way to stop it from being destroyed.
Push back against those who wish to silence your voice. Yell louder, if you can't, enlist your friends to help! Vote in your local, state and federal elections. Shut down propaganda and share accurate information. Spread the word on those running and what laws are being added to the ballots. This is an election year and it's VITAL that each and every one of us is heard.
If you can't get to the polls to vote, ask for help. Contact your local voting office and ask what methods are available for you. Get your friends or family to help you get there. Look up absentee or mail in ballots.
Don't do the jobs of the oppressors. Stop internet censorship. If not for you, do it for the queer kid that comes after you. And the one after them, and the one after them, and the one after them...
Whenever people try to tell me to ship "moral ships" I like to think about how inherently immoral it is to flirt with service workers at coffee shops where they're obliged to be nice to you so... many coffee shop AUs are like. Immoral. But given that they are a fantasy where this is instant romance without the fear of trapping a service worker in an uncomfortable situation that's tantamount to workplace sexual harassment, I enjoy the cutesy coffee shop AUs immensely.
And that's basically my attitude towards all fantasy. There's lots of things I enjoy in fantasy that wouldn't work IRL. Enemies to lovers. Sudden kisses. Miscommunications in relationships. Codependency. Fight sluts who physically assault each other while emotionally connecting.
Once you start ascribing your morals to the fiction you consume, you tend to miss the issues in even the most innocuous, innocent seeming scenarios. It's easy to judge other people's fictional enjoyment until someone points out your innocent coffee shop AU is romanticised workplace harassment.
But it's all fiction. It's a fantasy. That's why it's fine.
A lack of education around things like consent, healthy relationships, self respect and respect of others, bodily autonomy, etc, has made people think they can rely only on fiction to tell them what right - but that's dangerous. And unsustainable.

gentle psa, i will not engage with asks that send allegations about one of my writing partners behind an anon. Unless you have some sort of receipts to back up claims, i will delete and ignore the message.
Frankly, it comes across off as a bit of drama stirring to send something anon about one of my mutuals/rp partners without any sort of proof. I left highschool a long time ago, I have no interest in that sort of behaviour in OOC communications. If you do not like someone I write with, it is up to you to filter your online experiences.
#ooc#psa#not vagueing anyone in particular given idk who they are when its an anon#but just. don't#this is a hobby for me to write#if you dont like someone i engage with then either blacklist them or dont engage with my content#i am not responsible for managing your online experience

By the way, you can improve your executive function. You can literally build it like a muscle.
Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. I don't have ADHD, but it is allegedly a thing with ADHD as well. And I am autistic, and after a bunch of nerve damage (severe enough that I was basically housebound for 6 months), I had to completely rebuild my ability to get my brain to Do Things from what felt like nearly scratch.
This is specifically from ADDitude magazine, so written specifically for ADHD (and while focused in large part on kids, also definitely includes adults and adult activities):
Here's a link on this for autism (though as an editor wow did that title need an editor lol):
Resources on this aren't great because they're mainly aimed at neurotypical therapists or parents of neurdivergent children. There's worksheets you can do that help a lot too or thought work you can do to sort of build the neuro-infrastructure for tasks.
But a lot of the stuff is just like. fun. Pulling from both the first article and my own experience:
Play games or video games where you have to make a lot of decisions. Literally go make a ton of picrews or do online dress-up dolls if you like. It helped me.
Art, especially forms of art that require patience, planning ahead, or in contrast improvisation
Listening to longform storytelling without visuals, e.g. just listening regularly to audiobooks or narrative podcasts, etc.
Meditation
Martial arts
Sports in general
Board games like chess or Catan (I actually found a big list of what board games are good for building what executive functioning skills here)
Woodworking
Cooking
If you're bad at time management play games or video games with a bunch of timers
Things can be easier. You might always have a disability around this (I certainly always will), but it can be easier. You do not have to be this stuck forever.
#actually autistic#executive dysfunction#neurodivergent#adhd#not news#hope#at least it's been very hopeful for me

I guess no adult should ever have consensual sex with another adult because both adults were once children and that is... *checks notes* sexualization of people who were once minors?
It doesn't matter if it's your OC, you shouldn't lewd a minor

It's funny to lose followers after a post especially if it's one of my unhinged story ideas or such cause clearly they only saw the fluffy cute stuff and saw none of the wild stuff I got cooking in the back.
But that just means that those that stay or join because of said craziness are strong and will survive the winter. :V
#I watch my follower count fluctuate every time I post it's a bit funny honestly#like people will follow after liking a cute post and then they're gone the second I post something “weird”#I think they only read one thing then when they try to find more they realize this is not the cute sfw fluff blog they thought it was#not making fun of those who only want to be exposed to sfw or not “weird” stuff just that it's probably good to check#the og posters blog before following to make sure you're alright with occasionally seeing something “weird” on your feed#at least I haven't received harassment for what I post and that people mind their own business and just ignore my blog#once they realize “hey maybe this isn't for me” good on them for managing their online experience

Curate your online experience. If you see something you don't like, you have the power to leave the fic. Don't make it the writer's problem because you don't like something. The Back Arrow exists for a reason. You can always block the creator. You can exclude tags you don't like when you search for fanfiction to read.
You'll be happier when you do.
you ever just click on a fanfic and read the first word and go “shut up” and exit

IntelliBooks, a cutting-edge restaurant management software solution, is designed to streamline your processes, improve efficiency, and elevate your restaurant’s performance. This blog explores how IntelliBooks can transform your restaurant operations, from point of sale systems and online ordering to inventory control and customer engagement.
Comprehensive Restaurant Management with IntelliBooks
Running a successful restaurant involves handling multiple tasks simultaneously. IntelliBooks simplifies these tasks by integrating all aspects of restaurant management into a single, user-friendly platform. This all-in-one solution covers everything from POS systems and mobile ordering to kitchen management and takeaway services, ensuring seamless operations and improved efficiency.
1. Point of Sale (POS) Systems:
At the core of IntelliBooks is its robust Point of Sale (POS) system, designed to handle everything from order processing and payments to sales tracking. This system ensures quick and accurate transactions, reducing wait times and enhancing customer satisfaction. In today's digital age, offering online ordering is essential for any restaurant. IntelliBooks integrates seamlessly with your existing operations to manage online orders for delivery and pickup. Customers can place orders through your website or app, customize their meals, and pay online, providing convenience and boosting sales. This system reduces errors associated with manual order taking, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
3. Inventory Management with IntelliScan:
Efficient inventory management is critical to a restaurant’s success. IntelliBooks' IntelliScan feature uses scanning technology to quickly update inventory levels, track usage, and manage stock efficiently. This feature reduces errors and optimizes supply chain management, ensuring that you never run out of essential ingredients.
IntelliScan improves coordination with suppliers by tracking stock levels and reorder points. This ensures timely reorders and prevents stockouts, which can disrupt service and affect customer satisfaction. Efficient inventory control leads to cost savings and better operational planning, helping you manage your restaurant more effectively.
4. Enhancing Customer Experience:
An organized kitchen is key to a restaurant's success. IntelliBooks’ kitchen order management system ensures smooth communication and workflow. Digital orders are clearly displayed for kitchen staff, reducing misunderstandings and errors. This system helps prioritize orders to ensure timely preparation and delivery, keeping the kitchen running efficiently. Additionally, it synchronizes with the POS and inventory systems to track ingredient usage and manage stock levels effectively.
For restaurants offering takeaway services, IntelliBooks provides a comprehensive solution to manage orders and ensure customer satisfaction. The system efficiently handles takeaway orders alongside dine-in and delivery services, keeping customers informed about the status of their orders with automated notifications. It allows customers to schedule their pickups, reducing wait times and enhancing convenience. This organized approach ensures a smooth takeaway experience for both customers and staff.

If you don't learn to manage yourself NOW, then you're definitely not gonna have a good time when you get older.
I mean I think people should curate their own fandom experience and whatnot and it's perfectly fair to just avoid things one is uncomfortable with...
That being said. From personal experience? Immunizing myself to all my discomforts by browsing through pixiv and kink memes with raised eyebrows while searching for things I am interested in back when tagging was non-existent has really made my fandom experience much more pleasant nowadays.
I have preferences, for sure. But I have no fear. I have no cringe. The filthiest, grossest fanwork holds no powers over me. I am a god.
Like honestly dl;dr and block on sight is respectable and all but I genuinely think everyone could just benefit from purposefully exposing yourself to your nOTP and non-triggering squicks sometimes? (And obviously don't go bother the creators for it.) If only so that it makes it easier/safer to search for content you like without living in fear of accidentally glimpsing something you hate and having that ruin your day.
