#naruto#jiraiya#kakashi hatake#kurama#arc: search for tsunade#chapter 143#everyjiraiya#man...so you all knew naruto was the vessel for the nine-tails and collectively decided to keep that a secret from him?#until you arbitrarily decided it was time he knew so you could train him to harness it?#a good fraction of the fandom loves to point fingers at jiraiya and hiruzen for naruto's neglectful upbringing#but to be honest it's more like EVERYONE dropped the ball where naruto was concerned. including them...including kakashi#it becomes especially jarring when you remember naruto was the 4th hokage's son#all this secrecy was meant to protect naruto and i realize people make mistakes even with the best of intentions but...#i don't know. i just think this part of the story could have been executed better#though this is coming from someone with the gift of hindsight on my side
