#man. i have such a problem with verb-tense agreement when it comes to ‘there is/there are’

can i just say that I'm haunted by the image of Ice wearing "one of Mavericks cheapest rolexes". One because of the mental immage of Maverick being the kind of men who not only owns multiple watches but also Rolex, which is absolutely delightful, because oh the quiet vanity of that. And two because of the implied and groundbreaking (to me) domesticity (and defiance of the not talking/acknowledging the thing between the 2 of them) of wearing another person watch. I'm screaming into the void about your brilliance. So I need to ask, do they do that on purpose (before the mission) in a sort if roundabout way of acknowledging each other presence in their life? What would Mav wear that belongs to Ice (apart from that USNA ring eheh)?
pilots/sailors/doctors etc who do high-level specialized work with their hands tend to really be Watch Guys. and “cheap” rolexes (sub $7k ish) are actually pretty affordable if you’re making >$150k a year and want to treat yourself every fifth christmas or something. source: know several sailors & doctors. ALSO the watch ice is wearing in his famous gay plane photoshoot is actually a rolex. So theres some evidence ice at least is (annoying, ostentatious, bad with money, and) a Watch Guy. Maverick’s also wearing a kickass chronograph in TGM so i think he’s also probably a Watch Guy. also… you know, status symbol, honor, et cetera et cetera…
they probably wear each other’s socks because in-regs socks all look the same and they’re both men so who cares. i also hc that they’ve always worn the same size in shirts so each other’s t-shirts are also free game. and was very confusing at the start of their relationship when trying to figure out whose shirt was whose after a midnight rendezvous. lots of accidental shirt mixups. and, yeah, each other’s watches, because most people only see the status and don’t see the detail, and most people aren’t around both ice and mav enough to recognize that “omg last month adm kazansky was wearing the same omega chronometer capt mitchell is wearing today!! theyre totally together!!!” so if ice buys a new watch and maverick salivates over it, sure he can borrow it, whatever. and i think there’s a scene in wwgattai when maverick wears ice’s pj pants hold up lemme find it
“in bare feet.” now wtf does that mean. that could use a rewrite.
ice also wears mavericks leather jacket when they’re on their baseball date in debriefing. at some point when you live with someone long enough your stuff becomes their stuff which was the point of this graf
thinking about it… trying to decide if they’d wear each other’s cologne. that seems like a little much. no i don’t think so.
#oooh! this is the first time ive read this section of debriefing since i posted it! and wow it’s really just okay!#ugggghhh the house. the house.. *shakes fist* all my narrative problems have to do with the house…#would ice and maverick really get free LockMart/mcdonnell shirts? no idea#ive been working my first aerospace & defense job for a month now and ive gotten Boeing fidget spinners and raytheon sunglasses and#LM t-shirts so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities#but i am also not a federal employee so idk.#thx for the ask anon. i appreciate your use of the word ‘haunted’#pete maverick mitchell#tom iceman kazansky#icemav#top gun#asks#man. i have such a problem with verb-tense agreement when it comes to ‘there is/there are’#in the second one it should be ‘there are all these…’ man. i can’t ever get there’s/there are right#oh wait you’re not anon#i am a Watch Guy but $20-$80 vintage novelty watches i find on eBay not Rolexes#i feel at some point i should change my blog header. it’s still my politics but#given that i am literally working in defense rn it feels a little hypocrit. ok. will change it.#alright as of this post my header has been changed to reflect the material conditions of my summer internship

Taste Test
“Ivy.”
Her hand pauses on the handle, half-turned and hearing a soft click, free to leave now if she liked. “Yes?”
The pen falls to the desk. “Come here then, if you’re going to be a brat about it.”
Ivy turns on her heel, face warm. There is no step forward. Not yet, she isn’t sure yet. “I’m not being a brat-”
“You are.” But he’s smiling, just a little one. His gaze sharpens, as it runs over her body. “But it’s to be expected,” he raises a hand and points to the spot on the desk beside him. “I have been neglecting you in this area.”

“You said you’d keep Thursdays clear for this.”
The man doesn’t even look up from his paperwork. “I did. On the exception for work.”
She can’t hide her pout, as much as she tries to. The woman understands of course, what she agreed to, months ago now.
The only problem with that agreement was that he had been too busy to make it for the past three Thursdays. Thursdays were meant for, in crude terms, playtime.
It wasn’t a lack of sex that bothered her, regular casual sex was something that happened regularly still. It was this far more intimate time together, where he’d have her earn his praise over the course of a few hours. Tie her up and treat her like, well - his whore.
It was intimate, to be held and put her trust so fully in him. To shut off her mind and simply be his.
Being upset over the lack of it, was probably also due to the emotions still sitting heavy in her stomach. They didn’t talk about it, but he’d taken to kissing her goodbye each time she left. The past week, he’d held her hand, her ceramic one, while they were out doing the rounds. Told herself that he was only trying to ensure his property was working very well.
She now had enough overnight clothes in his bedroom that it could probably fit her old wardrobe.
“I just wish we could re-arrange it if it’s missed, at least.”
His pen scratches are the answers she gets, and green eyes raise to look at him once more. Something bubbles in her stomach at how he just ignores her now.
But now, she knows how to deal with him when he attempts this. Simply, she stands and heads to the door.
There is no objection to that, and if it makes him sting, good.
Or at least Ivy thinks that for a moment, before her stomach turns. Silco is tired and overworked, both of them are really. The last few weeks had been trying, with Finn’s new rise into his position as a Chembaron. They both needed to relax, to unwind.
The best way to help that was the play, at least usually, but she wanted to treat him a little. And the playtime hadn’t started yet, not until Silco asked her properly.
So when she reaches his desk, she takes her time to lean down. Meeting his gaze, before ducking her head to press soft lips to his cheek. His body tensed, before slumping at the sudden affection.
She starts, taking his hand in her ceramic one. Face burning and guilt eating at her stomach, as she thought of how bratty she had been tonight. “I’m sorry for being so-”
“Don’t.” His fingers tighten around her synthetic ones, a sight she sees rather than feels. “We’ve both been busy.” He raises her hand to press his lips to the back of it. A surprisingly tender sight, that makes her chest tighten.
She really needed to have a one-on-one with herself over those feelings before they burst out. In a probably embarrassing and far too dramatic fashion.
Then again, he was smiling at her in a way that could almost be described as sweet. And well, he was still holding her hand. Her voice came after a quick clear of it. “Can I decide my punishment for being a brat?”
His brow wrinkled, gazing up from her hand to her green eyes, trailing over her dark hair. “That wouldn’t be much of a punishment if I let you decide.” His tongue worked in his cheek before he released her hand. “That being said, you may offer suggestions.”
“You spank me-”
“That was in my plans, sweet.”
“-Five times.” Satisfaction grows as he frowns at that implication. “And afterwards, I’ll get on my knees.”
There’s a hum as he considers that offer, raising a hand to press his fingers against his cheek, leaning his head into it. “Ten spanks. And what would you do on your knees?”
The extra spanks can be dealt with. “Open my mouth.”
The flame of the red eye infects the blue. Startlingly hot orbs, he gazes over her. “You want me to fuck your throat?”
God, him saying it out loud, she could feel her thighs already pressing together. Something his gaze flickers down in notice before looking back into her face. A nod then, unable to form the words she knows he wants to hear.
The hand not holding hers, reaches out, curling around her thigh. Fingers moved slowly, rubbing against the fabric of her pants. “I need a verbal answer, Ivy.” A pause, before he leans forward, both hands curling around the back of her thighs. “Do you want to be spanked and have your throat fucked?”
A swallow. Fuck, it was so nice to hear him say it. “Yes.”
“And if your mouth is full, how do you tell me to stop?”
“I pinch your thigh.” It’s almost embarrassing, how easily she can recite the terms he lays out each time.
But he turns her, directing her forward toward the desk. Standing as she lowers herself, a hand splaying against her back. “That’s my good girl.”
There’s a whine at the praise, unable to hold back from it before he delivers a sharp smack to her still covered, right cheek.
Fingers rub over the spot, before curling against the hem of her pants. Dragging them down, she feels his lips against the stinging skin. A peck, before his chin rests against her lower back, fingers kneading the soft skin of her ass. “Count them out, Ivy. And remember your manners.”
“One.” A pause, to swallow her desire. “Thank you, sir.”
He answers her by standing back up and giving her another swat. One on her left cheek this time. Followed by two more, waiting until she counts and thanks him each time. The next one hits sharply at her right cheek, lower than the others, at where her ass meets her thigh. It stings, even as he rubs a finger over it.
The next two are even harder, meant to make her squeal against the desk, to have her legs tremble. It’s harder to keep quiet, as she does her best to count. To mind her manners like he had asked.
To be a good girl for him. Janna, she wants to be so good for him. To earn that wonderful praise, to earn the way he’ll make her cum hard enough to see stars later.
The next one is a hard smack, that leaves her gasping and eyes stinging. What’s worse is how his hand presses against it. “Did that one hurt, my dear? Your skin is so warm here.”
The answer comes out as a near sob. “Yes.”
“Do I need to stop?”
A tremble then against the desk. Her cunt soaking should be answer enough for him, but it’s like he’s pretending that he can’t see it. “No. Please, keep going.”
His fingers rub over the warm spot. “Anything else to say?”
A flush, turning her head to meet his gaze. His eyes are still hot, almost wild. “Thank you, sir. That was nine.”
She can hear the smirk in his voice, carrying over her, as he draws his hand slowly, letting his nails drag along her skin. “Good girl.”
The final smack comes next, and she’s left gasping, legs trembling. It was lighter, but the sensation of so many has her trying to find her footing. Not that Silco gives her a break, tugging down her pants further, having her step out of them. “Kick off your shoes.” She does, earning praise in the form of a kiss on her shoulder.
He tucks his arm around her waist as he steps away, dragging her back up with him. Her shirt is next to come off.
On Thursdays, she knew better than to wear a bra or panties, unless he specifically bought her some for the occasion. Silco had never learned patience in these matters, having a tendency to tear or rip clothing away during their playtime. Once, he had even used a knife to cut the band of her panties, dragging the flat edge of the blade along her skin with care and skill.
It would be something to ask later, she always told herself, as she was reminded of that blade.
There’s a kiss, harsh, a hand digging into her dark hair. Crushing her body against him, as he dominated her mouth. A whimper when he parts, gets him to kiss her again, eyes blazing at the noise.
“Silco,” the woman whispers, as he pulls away. But he doesn’t meet her for a kiss again, his hands moving to her shoulders. The gentle pressure he applies is all it takes to get her on her knees.
She raises her hands to unbutton him when she could hear it. Footsteps. Not that it matters, the door was locked, no one could-
The handle turns, and she presses her back to the desk drawers at the noise on instinct, hiding behind them.
The click of the handle when she had turned it. She had unlocked the fucking door.
Silco turns, caught off guard as the door opens. And though she can’t see who it is, she has a good guess of who it was based on his scowl. “Whatever do I owe the pleasure, Finn?”
He sits down, nudging her with his foot, towards the space under his desk. She takes the hint, quickly sliding her naked body underneath as silently as she could. Her legs curled under her, and trying not to hiss from how much her ass hurt, she did her best to settle there.
Her clothes are nudged next, and she uses them under her knees as some sort of cushioning. For however long she’ll be stuck under here. Hopefully not too long.
“Silco.” The name is said with open displeasure, with a slight lisp. “You’ve been ignoring my messages.”
“I have other matters to attend to than just your messages, Finn.” His chair tucks in, just enough that she can still see his face. His knees in front of her, legs spread.
She can see the bulge in his pants, and her mouth begins to salivate.
God, this was going to be torture.
“Like what? Paperwork?”
His hand comes down, to rest on his thigh. Her eyes are drawn to it, watching how his fingers tap against it. The way his thumb curls, into his palm at Finn’s words. “This paperwork, Finn, is something necessary. Perhaps you could get a dose of maturity to understand that, as you are now in a leadership position.”
The tone scratches at her belly, cold instead of heat. Actual annoyance, that has her fingers, the flesh ones, sliding over his thigh until they touch his hand. Gently taking it, she can feel him relax, if only slightly while the other man is in the room.
“I came here to discuss territory. What is mine by right.”
Ivy can see his grimace and lifts his hand. Pressing kisses to the back of it, his tone changes slightly. Rougher but not as angry. “You have yet to have proven what is yours by right.” A small pause, before his lips twitch upwards. “You seem to have trouble understanding the consequences of your actions.”
The word goes straight to her cunt. The bastard.
She takes a finger and grazes her lips over it. In imitation of something else. Whatever Finn said next was lost, as his movement is immediate. Thumb hooking into her mouth and her teeth react on instinct. Just barely sinking into the flesh.
The scratch of her teeth barely earns her a twitch of his lips. Not even a slight emote beyond that, he simply rests his thumb in her mouth. His other hand raises almost casually to touch his chin, dragging along it in a familiar gesture.
“Shouldn’t you know better than to bite my hand, Finn? After all of these wonderful scraps, I’ve been feeding you.” His thumb presses upwards, dragging along the edge of her teeth. Enough force in the action to have her pause. “I could make it harder for you.”
Very slowly, she held her mouth further open. Her eyes widened as she felt his thumb run over her front teeth, slowly as though inspecting each tooth, until he moved upwards to drag it over her upper lip. Tracing her open mouth with an almost thoughtful, slow touch.
Whatever Finn said was going missed, gone to focus on what he was doing. Each action is meticulous, each word holding a double meaning.
She hates how much his words have such control over her, even when they aren’t directly to her. Loathes how she sucks the next time he slides his thumb into her mouth, tongue licking at the pad of it.
Almost in apology.
“If you want to get a reward from me, Finn. You’re going to have to try harder than that. The basics won’t cover it.” The thumb is gone, hand moving back to trace over the edge of his waistband. Tucking his chair in a little more, further obstructing the view of the other chembaron. “Sit down, Finn. We’ll discuss until the matter is taken care of.”
His fingers brush over the golden buttons. Green eyes widen, flicking between the edge of the chin she can only just see now, and then back to his hand. It moves, going over to the top corner, and unclasping it with enough quiet to barely make a sound.
It’s gone then, coming to rest on the desk along with the other. Briefly, Finn’s voice can be heard, but she’s not focusing on it enough to make it more than his annoyed, chipped tone.
It’s unfair that Silco knows her so well; that he knows the perfect way to tempt her. How easily he opens a locked door as though he’d always had the key, unlocking her inner wants.
Shame coils with the heat in her stomach, as she leans forward. Hands, organic and synthetic, rest on his knees. Thumbs brush over the joint slowly, a little more awkwardly with her ceramic hand vs her tried and true, but there is no hint that he’s disappointed. Silco always seemed to actually approve more when she’d use the hand he gifted her.
Probably some possession kink she was a part of. Not that she would complain if she was.
She was practically his already.
Using her left hand, she draws a finger over the seam of his pants. Slowly, enough to have his legs shift. A small smile at that, fingers ghosting over the buttons, as she takes her time to undo them with one hand, listening closely.
“You’ve almost reached your target.” Silco’s voice was smooth, with no hint of a reaction as her fingers started to work over his suit.
“You keep raising the target, making it harder and harder to reach.” Finn’s voice is a whine. Barely a distraction in her efforts.
“Because you are doing it wrong, Finn. My targets are easy to reach if you use the right tilt of your hand.”
The amused curl to his words did not go past her, but Ivy’s glad he wasn’t able to see the eye roll she gave. She understood, finishing undoing the buttons. Pulling down the flap, and then gently running a finger over his cock.
To her surprise he’s half-hard, twitching under her touch. His arms shift above her, stretching out slightly. Commenting something about taking the project in hand, that has her drawing his dick out of his pants.
It’s red at the tip, but not leaking. Another twitch as she curls her hand around it. Taking the project in hand, she could do that. And then she could do more, as she began to flick her wrist slowly; twisting and curling.
Enough to have one of his arms fall to his side, staying still for a moment, before the hand slowly made its way under the desk, fingers spread, Ivy leaned into his touch when it was offered. Fingers spread over her face, while his thumb went back to tracing over her lips, before following the curve of her cheekbone. A soft sigh rose out of her throat before cutting it off, her heart racing.
Fuck. Shit.
The thumb presses against the apple of her cheek, hard enough to start to squeeze her face a little.
Janna, she wanted more. It sent heat down to her core, but if it was shame or lust, well, it didn’t matter at the moment to dissect it. Only to let him drag her head in front of his dick, letting go of her face to raise into her hair. Toying, not grabbing, not yet anyway.
Ivy isn’t stupid, knowing to twist her hand a little faster. Pump him a little more, to have his legs shift in reaction.
She knows what he likes.
“I wonder how long you’re going to last with that attitude, Finn. You know that jaw could have so much better uses than to filter out your noise.”
Now his fingers curl, wrapping locks of hair between them so he can pull her forward. Mouth meeting the underside of his cock, holding her there for a moment to drag her lips against the length of him. Letting her taste his pulse, felt even here, as he set a rhythm for her lips.
Her fingers uncurl, and his follow suit. Moving to tuck a piece of hair carefully behind her ear, tracing the shell of it with his index finger. Her lips part, moving forward to drag the flat of her tongue over him.
Finn was saying something. It didn’t matter, her focus was on the man before her. His voice comes in clearly, while her mouth works him. “Are you sure about that? Willing to take all that responsibility?” She drags her tongue up and down quickly, and he gives a dry chuckle, barely a laugh. “Go ahead then. Take it.”
The words are directed at her as much as they are at Finn. A kiss to the tip first, gentle and soft that has him twitch beneath her. Then another, and another before her lips part, unable to even find her own thoughts against this very bad idea. An idea she should’ve hated, but-
He’s warm in her mouth, already stretching her jaw as she takes the thick head between her lips. Trying to keep her seal tight, to attempt to keep quiet. An experimental bob, one that takes him to the back of her mouth.
“Don’t be too over eager, Finn. You might choke if you’re not careful.”
Her eyes roll before she continues at her pace. Slow and steady. Listening carefully to his words for direction.
Has her moving her mouth to press open kisses against his shaft. Give him kitten licks to the tip. Running the tip of her tongue along his sack, while her hand jerks him.
The soft movement of his hand encouraged her each time. Silent praise that sits heavily in her core until Ivy is sure she’s dripping onto her thighs.
He’s back in her mouth, after what must’ve been half an hour of her following his direction, always letting up whenever he was about to cum. Drawing her mouth away from him sometimes even, to force her to watch, paying attention to his words, as his cock leaked pre-cum openly.
The hand tightens when she takes him a little bit deeper. Relaxing her throat, she lets him hit the back of it. Drawing a little further, she’s getting better at taking him-
And then the bastard leans forward, dragging her head with him. Caught off guard, she chokes and gags. A sound he covers up with a cough, prepared for the moment. Her eyes sting tears quickly forming.
He’s not letting go. Silco holds her in place, until she feels the soft little thrusts, so small she almost mistook them for twitches. But the pattern and pace were undeniable of what it was.
Her hands grip his thighs but don’t pinch. Just a little longer, she tells herself, breathing through her nose.
When he leans back, she’s dragged with him. The hand tugs her forward until her nose brushes hair drool slipping past her lips now, and she can feel it land on her bare breasts.
He holds her there, even as blackness edges into the field of her vision. Grips her head so tightly, that she's starting to gag. The noise is barely muffled, as there are steps towards the door. Silco calling out to make sure the other man shut it on the way out.
Ivy doesn't push at his knees. Doesn't attempt to get herself off of him. More tears are sliding down her cheeks, as she does her best to be good for him. To take it like a good girl.
She wanted to be his good girl so badly, that she was still dripping as he practically choked her on his cock.
Once the door closes, he rolls his chair back. His cock slips from her mouth, and she gasps for air once he's out. The fingers in her hair don't let go, don't let her hide her face away from his view.
In fact, once her breath is caught, she can feel his eyes running over it. Over her chin slick with drool, and tear-covered cheeks. Over her breasts, she remembers are bare for him to see. And shining with drool and sweat.
Her eyes glance away, and he’s quick to regain her attention. His free hand moves to cup her jaw, gently guiding her to meet his gaze.
The smile he gives is one that is private, the one she only sees. One that showed how pleased he was, and the sight sent a jolt right to her cunt. "If I had known you liked sucking me off during office hours so much, maybe I'd let you finish off your shifts under my desk." His fingers trace over her jaw and she waits.
So does he, the tender smile growing sharper as she presses her thighs together. Her voice a whine. "Please, sir."
"Please, what? What do you want, Ivy?" Ask and she would receive as his fingers continue to gently play along her jaw. Not even minding her drool.
In fact, she dared to say he loved the sight. "Please, sir." Her gaze lowers, just for a moment and his soft touch turns hard. Gripping her jaw, her gaze falls back onto his own, and he lets go just enough to let her speak. "Can I finish the job?"
Silco works his words over in his cheek before saying them aloud. "No. Not yet." His gaze was hot, and a quick glance down, she could see his cock twitch at whatever he was thinking. "And not in your mouth."
The next question comes with a tremble, a need for that reassurance. "Did I do good, sir?"
His touch goes softer, both hands moving to cup a side of her face. Thumbs swiping up the last of her tears. "Very good." Leaning forward, he rewards with a peck on her forehead, something so soft and subtle, yet it burns.
Silco pulls away, still cupping her face as he has them both rise. Holding her gaze as fingers drag off of her cheeks, and onto her shoulders, before trailing over her arms.
Lingering along the skin, dragging over even where the skin meets the synthetic in a sweet caress, a careful but almost loving touch over it. She remembers the last time her sleeve was off and the way his lips had been pressing gentle kisses to her stump. Refusing to allow her to push him away, as he ensured she understood his most important rules.
When her eyes flutter close at the sensation, he reminds her of those rules. Leaning in close to press his mouth to the curve of her ear, she has to stop her legs from trembling. "What are you, Ivy?"
"Alive." That one comes easiest.
Both hands collect each of her own, sliding his fingers through to lock them to his own. "What else are you?"
Her cheeks warm at the second one, but only just a bit. "Beautiful."
There's a smile on his face, pleased once more."Yes. Always beautiful." A kiss just beneath her ear now, another following along her cheek as her eyes open to see him. He was so close, hands still holding her own. "Last one, Ivy, and then you'll get your reward."
Her cheeks are red now, she can tell from the heat that’s burning off of them. Not from embarrassment, no, but let him think that. Don't let him see how much more it is. "Yours."
He hums before his hands move. Sliding from her own, and resting on her hip, before drawing up further. Thumb just below the curve of her breast, tracing along the edge. Admiring her breasts openly.
A hand rises to cup one, feeling the weight of it in his hand. Lips don’t fall onto her own, a graze is all she gets before he descends to her throat. His palm rolls just so along her skin, before leaving it. Both hands move downwards, cupping her ass next, while his teeth graze over the side of her neck, only encouraging more marks as she sighs and cranes her head back.
It took a moment to remember, that he still had all his clothes on. And a quick glance down, to her disappointment, it meant he had also tucked himself away.
Not that she could be disappointed for long, not as Silco was pushing her backward, drawing that disappointment away with his actions, until her ass hit the desk. Hands grow rougher, as he lifts her onto it. Leaving her to simply look at her, before he lifts a hand back to her chest. Resting on her sternum for a moment, before his fingers spread over top of it.
The gentle pressure is all the command she needs, letting herself rest with her back against the desk. He lifts both legs, pressing his hands to the back of her knees, before tapping them. “Hold them up for me.”
She cannot stop her hands from shaking, as she lifts them to her legs. Holding herself open, Silco took the opportunity to stand back and look. Red and blue eyes on her pussy, wet already.
There wasn’t even a slight feeling of shame, not when he tapped her inner thighs, and she spread them more. Not even as a finger dipped down between her folds and it came back wet. No shame even as he met her gaze, and slid the finger into his mouth.
It did come when he popped it out. “I truly didn’t realize how much you enjoyed sucking me off like that. Usually, you need more teasing to get this wet.” His gaze fell away, as he stepped to open a drawer nearby. “Though it’s not entirely unexpected from you, my dear.”
Her brow furrows. “What does that mean?”
The drawer closes, and he comes back into view. One black leather glove slid over his hand, fingers wiggling in the air for a moment to ensure they were secured. He answers her, as he draws on the other gloves. “It means, my sweet, that you are filthy.” Covered hands land on her thighs. “A slut. But not for just anyone.”
It’s not even a question. He knows, just as well as she does.
She’s his. His slut, his whore, as rare as he’d call her those things. But it’s sound knowledge between them both.
Leather-wrapped fingers draw between her legs, resting just above her slit. Fingers spreading, as it inches ever so slowly downwards.“No, you’re mine.” His hand shifts, letting two fingers draw down over her slit, the other pressing on her thigh. “I could pound your pretty little throat in front of everyone downstairs.” His thumb presses to her entrance, rubbing over it. “Fill your cunt at my next meeting.”
The image of her doing that, in front of him, it’s enticing but - “They don’t need to see.” The words slip off of her tongue, a soft objection, gazing up at him as he pauses his movements to let her speak. “I just want to be yours.”
His gaze is hard, holding her still for a moment before he presses his thumb inside of her. Sliding the covered digit all the way to the hilt. The moan she gave wasn’t muted, raising a hand to quickly cover her mouth. Only for it to be dragged away, as he held her wrist.
Pressing closer, so he could lean over her as he began to pump his thumb in and out of her. Breath matching her own, soft little pants. Though hers had significantly more whines to it.
It gets him to laugh, soft, warm and deep from his chest. “Such lovely noises. Never hide them.”
“But-”
His finger taps her wrist. “Do you want a reward or another punishment?”
She gasps, his thumb changing to an angle that he knew would have her eyes rolling back. Back arching off of the desk slightly. “R-Reward. Please.”
“Please what?”
“Please Silco.”
That earns her a growl, hands withdrawing from her. He steps from her legs, raising the wet leather to lick her juices off of it. A whimper rises in her throat as she watches, his mouth curling into a knife with how his grin slices into her.
Yet he only sits, undoing his trousers, to reveal his hard cock once more. Holding it at the base, blue and red eyes are simple pools of heat as they gaze at her. “Come here, Ivy.”
She approaches him embarrassingly quickly. Even on her shaking legs, straddling him. Any more teasing would be too much. “Please, Sir”
“Sit.”
She does, he lines himself up to her entrance. And both groan as she slides down onto him.
The urge to bounce, to ride him is strong. But he only gives her approval when she doesn’t. Fingers lifted to her cheek, drawing her in for another kiss. Softer and quicker this time and followed with a command. “Put your hands behind your back.”
She does, panting while her nose brushes against his own. A murmur, pleading. “Silco.”
Gloved hands grasp her ass, squeezing before dragging down to just below them. Grasping her thighs and lifting her just enough, a few inches or two.
And then he starts to fuck her.
Hard. Unrelenting.
Practically pounding into her, there’s no time to wait. His teeth bared right in front of her, as she leans her face forward, dark hair fanning out around the two of them. Green eyes unable to look away from blue and red, as he fucks her within an inch of her life.
It wasn’t fair how perfectly he could work her. It was extra not fair how perfect he fit inside of her.
It had her sobbing, whimpering against his mouth. Noises he swallows as he nips or kisses her between pants and between his words.
“So gorgeous. So perfect. All for me. All mine.” Those growled against her mouth, teeth nipping. “Going to fill you. My Ivy.”
Her heart flutters at those words, and it’s too much. Everything is suddenly too much.
Cock sliding against that one spot, to have her start sobbing. Her body aches, and she’s been so pent up. Unable to comprehend until now, how badly she needed this. Trying not to focus on how his cock is pressing against her perfectly, to try and hold back from her impending orgasm. “Silco!”
“Cum for me, Ivy.” He brings her back down, enough to get even deeper inside of her. Groaning as he feels her tighten around him. “That’s it. My good girl.”
She can only cry his name when it happens, half sobbing it, as she cums. Toes curling and thighs quivering.
He kisses her neck, moving away from her face as he buries his own. Bringing her down into his lap hard, pressing so fully inside of her, before he cums too. Filling her just as he said he would.
Both of them are panting. Ivy is the first to move, she withdraws her arms from her back. Draping herself over him, not bothering to pull him out, while his hands raise to loosely hold her. Running his fingers over her back, in soft comfort before he’ll carry her to their shared bedroom.
Silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s touch. A thought only jolting Ivy for a moment out of it. “The door is unlocked.”
Silco’s finger paused, and then he was lifting her off of him. Both groaning at the feeling.
His cum was already leaking out of her, much to the redness of her cheeks.
Her partner is lifting her then, having her legs rest loosely against his waist, while he maneuvered them both into the private bedroom. Making sure to shut the door behind him with his foot, before laying her on the bed. Quick to join her, and curl her to his chest. “Do you want to bathe?”
“Not yet.” It was a sleepy mumble, green eyes glancing up at him through her eyelashes. A small smile. “Can we stay like this for a while? Just a little?”
Something is there in his eyes, small but bright and warm, but not heated. It can’t be named but doesn’t leave as he carefully brushes her hair out of her face. “Five minutes. Then we’ll clean up, and I’ll look you over.”
“Snacks?”
His lips twitch, and that small emotion in his eyes seems to grow. “Yes. Snacks too, my dear.”
“More cuddles?”
“You’re pushing it now.”
A giggle is her response before she rests her head on his chest. Exhausted, but feeling almost giddy with how amazing tonight had been. Even with its… mishap, she decided to name Finn’s intrusion.
Laying on his chest, feeling his hands caress her body with delicacy and care. It was almost easy to fall asleep. Almost she missed his next words, as his lips brushed over her head. Could hear the smirk in his tone.
“Next time, I think I’ll be the one under the desk.”

For the requests if you're game?
Four and Warriors dynamic since we don't see it much?
Also you're awesome and absolutely don't have to do this if you don't want haha
So, words aren't nice to me today, and your prompt really helped with that. I'm sorry I didn't get to it sooner! But I'm glad I did it today. The verb tenses are a bit off and all over, but I really like the pretense.
For context, this is something that used to happen with me and my dad when he was in pain. I have no clue why it works, but it does somehow? For him anyway. Anyway, as I am the shorty of my family, I figured Four could take my place here :)
“Four, how tall are you?”
Don’t kill him. Green whispered, whether to himself or to his brothers none of them knew.
Why would he even need to know that? The grouchier voice in his head huffed out as hazel eyes shot up to meet the captain’s blue.
Was that particularly necessary? Vio groaned, and if he’d had a physical form the color in question would likely have just flopped over tiredly.
“Four foot four.” They answered curtly, turning their gaze back down to the sword in their hand as they continued to work over its length.
Warriors chuffed out a strangled sort of noise across from them, whether it be from pain, surprise or laughter they didn’t know, and as long as the captain didn’t push, they’d give him a little grace. The poor man was in enough pain as it was, and it really would be a shame to have him writhing on the ground if they kicked him in some... painful places.
“Really?” The man wheezed. “Please tell me you’re joking?”
They rolled their eyes.
Permission to kick him in the nuts?
One minute, let me think about it.
Pities sakes you two, we are not kicking the captain! Vio scolded. We’ll dye his hair while he sleeps or sew a patch on his tunic while he walks or something, not...oy vey.
“I’m four-foot-five.” They corrected aloud. “Happy?”
Sharp eyes met the captain’s again, four voices fighting over whether to cause harm or not. “Huh.”
Guys, look at him! Red huffed. He’s not even able to sit up straight! Give him a break, this one time?
Agreement rang in their mind. Wars was in pretty awful shape. The man had pulled his back while trying to heft a wounded Twilight through the forest the other day, and while he’d insisted the entire time that he had it handled, he’d come to regret it the next day when he woke up nearly too sore to move. They all teased Time about being an Old Man, and it was well known that Legend’s arthritis gave him trouble on some days, but neither the vet not their leader had ever moved as slowly as the captain this morning when they’d been on the road, and Time had had to call an early halt simply because Wars was clearly in so much pain.
The man currently lay on his stomach on the ground at the edge of camp, trying to stretch out his strained back and staring as Four with an odd look in his eyes. “Could you do me a favor?”
Could you not mock our height?
I thought we liked our height?
We do, but we don’t need to be teased for it!!!
“What do you need?” They eventually settled on, setting their sword aside and giving the captain their full attention.
“Stand on my back.” Warriors answered.
They blinked, startled. Once, twice, thrice, four times at the man. “Pardon?”
“Stand on my back.” Warriors repeated himself, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“But-”
Is he bonkers? Captain, we are not cracking your spine to put you out of your misery? Blue frowned, confused.
We’d hurt him doing that, why would he even ask?
This is Warriors, he’s not known for having all the lights on a good day.
“Aren’t you in pain?” Red managed to take the forefront, worry spilling into his voice as he stared down at where the captain lay on the ground.
The man smiled, shaking his head slightly only to wince and instead offer one of his charming smiles. “It helps. Just trust me, ‘kay?”
And what were they supposed to do? Even Legend had stepped up to offer help with the pain this afternoon, not that it would do much good for Warriors’ specific problem, but it had earned the vet a warm chuckle and a head ruffle, resulting in much squawking and insults as the vet protested the action. Wild had searched his slate for supplies to make a cure, and Time had called a halt for the day’s travels entirely. Sky had even offered what little help he could provide, but while offers of aid had come from everywhere, there hadn’t been anything that had worked.
But Wars was claiming that actively stepping on the injury would help it, and as absurd as it sounded, the captain seemed utterly confident in it, eyes almost pleading as they shifted where they sat.
“It won’t, I don’t know, mess up your back at all? Are you sure-”
“Goddesses, Four! It’ll be fine.” The captain huffed desperately, just do it, please?”
Now they understood why Warriors could charm discounts and special deals out of merchants and inn-keepers, his royal blue eyes looked utterly pitiful and almost tearful as they stared up at them, pleading and wide. The effect was ruined though when Wars added a tiny little pout that sent Vio reeling with laughter as Blue and Green stifled their own, Red cooing softly in their head.
“Alright.” The laughter of three of the four colors spilled over in a light chuckle as the smithy pulled themselves to their feet, stepping over hesitantly and setting one foot on Warriors’ stretched out back.
“Go on.” Wars prompted, chuckling fondly. “It won’t hurt me, I’ll tell you if it does, okay?”
That didn’t help at all. They weren’t big, they knew that, but they weren’t as slight as they looked, they were smithies after all, and they were a solid little brick of muscle mass. Warriors may be certain it would be okay, but they sure weren’t.
“Four, I’m literally begging you. Step on me.”
The smithy’s nose wrinkled and they pulled back. “That is incredibly weird sounding.”
“Step.” Warriors ordered.
“This is so weird!” A nervous laugh fell from their lips. “How does this even help?”
“Just do it!” The captain groaned. “It helps, I promise. I can’t explain it, but it does.”
One tentative foot pressed against the captain’s back again, only for the smithy to back off, earning a huff in annoyance from the captain. “Four-”
“Let me take my boots off first.” They murmured, shivering off the awkward feeling that came from stepping on of their brothers. But they could only avoid Wars’ pleading gaze for so long and once their shoes are properly put to the side, they had no valid excuse to not ‘help’ the man.
How does this even help him?
Do we care? We have an excuse to step on him!
Vio, I think you spent too much time around Shadow. Stepping on people isn’t funny.
It’s funny if it’s Warriors. Vio sounded particularly satisfied with himself at the moment, and the others could only sigh at that, finally giving in to the captain's request as Vio pushed the body forwards until they are standing, fully, on Warriors’ back.
“Oh, yes, thank you.” The captain’s voice comes out in a relieved sigh. “A bit lower if you could- that's the- yes, right there. Oh gosh.” Blonde hair met the dirt as their resident “pretty boy” let his face fall to rest on the ground. A satisfied sigh escaping him, albeit muffled by the earth. “That is so much better. Thank you, Four.”
“How does this help?” They frowned, staring down at where the man spread out on the ground, utterly limp and incredibly boney under their feet.
“No clue.” Comes the muffled reply, no attempt made to explain as the captain continued to let himself melt into the earth. “But it always works like a charm, so I don’t question it.”
Always?
“Who do you usually have step on you?” They ask, standing awkwardly on a boney spine any trying their hardest to keep their balance so they don’t slip and tumble onto Warriors’ head and give him a concussion on top of everything.
“My kids.” Comes the easy reply, as if the words don’t send them reeling enough that they almost do fall. “Mask jumped on top of e once to try and wake me up. I wasn’t asleep, but it was a tough battle the day before. Come to find out having a smallish person stand on you does wonders! My younger siblings used to do it too, but then they all hit growth-spurts.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” They chuckled easily, finding a comfortable placement for their feet as Warriors’ back rises and falls with soft laughter.
“Believe it or not,” The captain rumbles, the vibrations trailing up their legs and making them stifle a giggle. “I’m the short one in the family. The eldest, but the Hylia forsaken shortest.” There’s very nearly a pout in the man's voice and they failed to hold back their laughter as they look down at him.
”You’re the shortest?”
“To my eternal torment.” Comes the groaned reply, and all the colors can do in reaction is laugh.
Later, when the others finally look over and see what’s happening, there are shouts and concerned looks from the heroes when they see their shortest standing on the previously sore and aching back of their tallest, but for now, Four gets to tease the captain for being short; something they never thought would ever happen.
Vio cackled madly in the background the whole time, leaving his brothers concerned after the first ten minutes when the color’s mirth failed to fade.

A/N: Thank you so much for bearing with me. Between being sick and having emotional stress at work, I’ve been unable to write as much as I’d like. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things this week. This part is mostly necessary filler. Booooo. But hopefully the next one will be more interesting. Part Four: Alliance
Jughead approached the freshly bought double-wide trailer at the lot on the end of the street hesitantly. He had talked to Lily at great length the night before, and Sweet Pea as well. He had joined in later and although he was snide at first he quickly became serious when he realized that his home in the middle of the forest was also in danger. His home in which his little girl slept every night. He wouldn’t risk her life for anything, even his if it did leave his ego a little bruised.
They had a strong protection spell they could use, however because the area was so large, they would need at least one more practicing witch to have enough power to sustain it. While the yin and yang witches of the forest knew no other person to enlist in their efforts, Jughead had what might be perceived as a crazy idea.
Something his mother had told him resonated within his mind constantly since their meeting. Pregnant demons were not only dangerous but powerful. Powerful than a regular witch or normal bred demon. They had the power of two inside of them. This is why she told him to stay away from the trailer he was currently walking towards. To avoid it at all costs. And if he saw her head of purple hair to turn and walk in the opposite direction because she was nothing but trouble.
He walked up the stairs, breath caught in his throat as his nerves ran haywire in his chest. His knuckles rapped on the freshly painted door. A tense few minutes paused before it opened, a gold chain stopping the door from opening fully. A hazel eye peered out at him. When she saw who it was, the door shut.
Jughead sighed, thinking she was refusing to talk to him. In reality she was just undoing the lock chain so she could invite him in. She was alone in the house and had grown rather lonely. Plus this wolf was seen with the leader of the Red Circle just a few days ago. She was curious to say the least. He could try to hurt her but it would be very unwise. Lav did not think he looked that stupid.
“Are you the welcoming committee?” She said, a teasing smirk on her pale lips. Her eyes looked incredibly tired and he noticed she was still wearing her pajamas even though it was midday.
He shook his head in response before clearing his throat, “may I come in?” The young Jones looked around to make sure no one was watching him. The coast was clear. This did not go unnoticed by the succubus, but she let him in regardless.
Jughead stepped inside and she closed the door, locking the chain once more before showing him to the living room. She curled up on the recliner while he sat on the old burgundy sofa. “So, little Jones, care to explain yourself?”
He stared at her, surprised that she knew who he was. “That’s right. I know your name. I know your place. I did not come here ill informed.” Myra had told her everything there was to know about the Joneses and their pack. Not that any of it was good dirt or made for interesting gossip, it was just information to keep her protected.
“You’re pregnant.” He stated, his shock disappearing for the time being. “With a hybrid, right?”
Lavender shrugged, “I suppose that is what she is, yes.” Her eyes seemed to pierce through him. She was analyzing him as a potential threat. When she realized that he truly was not there to harm her, she relaxed in the armchair.
“Her father?” Jughead asked, watching as she picked up a cup of tea and drank from it. It smelled like ginger and a blend of citrus fruit. He had to know. It was important for him to know.
And, of course, Lav had no reason not to tell him. It wasn’t some well kept secret. “Her sperm donor ,” the demon corrected, “is out of the picture. But, he was a soulless warlock if you must know.” She chose to use a verb in past tense. Perhaps it was her way of protecting Sweet Pea. Not that she really understood why he needed protecting.
Jug smiled softly, apologetically, as if she cared that she was a single parent. She didn’t. “So you’re a magic user then….”
Lavender was beginning to grow aggravated. She did not understand what any business this was of him or why she trusted him enough to let him in to begin with. “I’m half witch, if you must know. So yes, I’m quite adept at the use of magic.”
He appeared to be relieved. “I know this is a lot to ask, and you don’t know me or anyone else here but….my pack and the rest of the Southside need your help.”
She stared at him, a curious expression crossing her face as she motioned for him to continue. She took another sip of her tea.
“The Red Circle is planning to burn down the forest. My pack and many other supernaturals in Riverdale use that forest as a safe haven during the full moon. Do you know about the Red Circle?” He asked and she simply nodded her head. Jug continued, “The coven that is helping us, they need one more witch to have enough power to use the protection spell. It would save dozens of lives, maybe even hundreds. I will do anything to repay you, even give you my soul if I have to. I just want my family to be safe.”
The succubus cocked her head to the side. No man had offered up his soul to her on a silver platter like that. It was rather amusing. “You knew there was a pregnant demon in your neighborhood and thought that enlisting her help would seal the deal. Weren’t you helping the leader plan the whole thing?”
Jughead took his beanie off long enough to run a hand through his thick dark hair. “I was undercover. They don’t know what I am.”
She pondered his proposal for a moment. Mulling over whether or not she wanted to help him. She had a very distinct feeling that the “coven” he had mentioned were the two witches in the woods. If she helped him then she would have to see him again. Though perhaps that wasn’t that terrible of a thing.
Lavender shrugged her thin shoulders, “I suppose I’ll help you, wolf. But I don’t need your soul. You’re not my type.” She snickered at her own joke. “But I must warn you. If anything happens to me… Well, I’m under the protection of some pretty powerful demons. I can’t ensure your safety if my well being is threatened.”
A smile broke across Jughead’s face and he almost jumped up with joy at her agreeing to help. He was sure she would say no. There was nothing in it for her. He was of no significance. Yet he hoped she would just listen and….she did. His blanketed opinion on demons was starting to change.
“Though perhaps there is something you could help me with in exchange for my help.” Lav said, her index finger lightly tapping the side of the teacup. There was a small, cruel smile on her lips that lit her eyes with mischief.
Jughead felt a sinking feeling in his stomach at the look she was giving him. “Anything.” He said, though his voice shook with a resonance that definitely said maybe not anything . He hoped in vain that she wouldn’t notice it.
“I need a large amount of souls in order to grow my child.” Lav began, finger still tapping rhythmically in beat with the canter of her voice. “While I can harvest a soul without killing, sometimes I simply cannot help myself. I shift and attack. I plan on staying in Riverdale for the next ten or so months. You can imagine what this means.”
He swallowed thickly as he nodded his head. Of course , a large selection of souls for her to feast on would be necessary.
“Relax, I don’t need much.” She said, giggling at his worried countenance. “I just need help with body disposal if the need arises. You already have one serial killer causing you problems, you really don’t need two.”
The wolf relaxed slightly, his pack wasn’t really stranger to hiding bodies. After all, things happen. Accidents happened all the time in the murder capitol of the world. Hell, his father had enough lye hidden away to dissolve half the town if he needed to. “I can do that.” He said finally, “Do you have a cell phone?”
Lav didn’t really have a need for a cell phone. She shrugged after a moment of thought, “I guess I can get one if that makes it easier. Money is easy enough to procure for a demon of my caliber.”
“I’m sure it is.” Jughead mumbled to himself. He could sense her strength but also her youth. Her cockiness could be her downfall if she overextended herself. Though certainly whoever was protecting her would stop anything from happening. He did wonder why she was under such protection. Why did other demons care if she birthed another hybrid? One that was only a quarter demon? True hybrids could be stronger than the average full blooded demon but it still rose a multitude of questions and doubt inside of him. Perhaps that was a line of questioning for another day.
The purple haired demon watched him with a curious gaze. She finally set her cup down and stood. “If that is all, your highness, then I must ask you to leave. I’m due for another meal soon and I must get ready. Though I could hunt in sweatpants, I much prefer not to.”
Jug nodded his head and stood, offering his hand for her to shake to seal their verbal agreement. Lavender took his, teasingly flushed him with lust before letting go. Her curiosity turned to perplexion when she realized he showed absolutely no interest in her. Her will was completely ineffective. This didn’t happen too often, though typically did when she went after a gay man or straight woman. She couldn’t influence people who were genuinely not attracted to her gender.
Lavender had not pegged him as homosexual, but she supposed anything was possible. That or he was on the ace spectrum. Asexuals also had a natural block against her. She couldn’t make them want anything that was against their nature. She had only met this kind of block once before in her twenty years of living as a soul sucker.
“I’ll call on you if I need you, Jughead,” She said, her tone even to hide her uncertainty. Jughead jotted his number down on a scrap of an old receipt in his pocket and handed it to her. Lav thanked him, a habit from her time as a mortal, before showing him to the door.
"Can I get your name?" He asked tentatively, "since you seem to know mine?"
Lav smiled once more, "they call me Lavender."
Jughead looked over her one last time, as if to ask himself if he was really going through aligning himself and his pack with a demon. Of course, he came to the conclusion that he simply had no other choice and left.
Lavender shook her head and stretched her arms out above her before disappearing into her bedroom to change.
Much later that night, when her stomach was full and her appetite gone, Lavender found herself at the wolf bar on the edge of the Southside. Many of the Jones’ pack lingered there and she thought best to get to know the ones she’d be protecting.
She looked extremely out of place as she had been hunting on the Northside. She chose to wear something a bit extravagant. The tight black dress was wearing what was currently her favorite little black get up. A little number by Versace with a deep sweetheart neckline. Shoes were black peep toe stilettos by Louis Vuitton. Although she expected that the mutts prowling the Southside would have no idea of the price point of her outfit. Which was just fine with her.
She also had one of the latest models of cellphones and had contacted Jughead with another request. She wanted a signifier that she was one of his pack now so that she would not get any trouble from them in the open. She explained that if they bothered her then they would be killed by the demoness that watched over her. Jughead replied that he would happily oblige and would meet with her the following day with a new leather jacket. He also told her that if she really wanted to seal the deal then she’d need a tattoo. Lav agreed that she would, but her own artist would do it.
Lav sipped on her Shirley Temple, watching the supernaturals of the Southside drink and smoke and play pool. Some were dancing, a few girls grinding on poles that were mounted on a stage. Interesting.
A woman that smelled heavily of dog and bourbon slipped into the space between Lav and the neighboring barstool. She cocked an eyebrow at her, interested simply due to how close she was. Most people had given her a wide girth of space, not wanting to come near a pregnant demon. It had been a bit annoying since she did come to socialize.
The wolf’s brown eyes were moving languidly up Lavender’s body. “I think you’re lost, princess.” She slurred, having recognized the designer labels with ease. It had been something that Lav was not expecting. Werewolves very rarely had good taste. “That outfit costs more than I make in a month in the ring.”
Dog fighting, or should she say wolf fighting, was very common in low income areas. It was akin to MMA only much more violent. Lav returned the stranger’s gaze and noticed how toned her arms and bare stomach were. She was obviously very fit and judging by the little blemishes to her skin, she was quite good in the ring.
This almost set Lav on high alert. She almost prayed to Myra to get her to come, however she quickly realized that this woman was not here to harm her. She was here because she was attracted to her. That much she found extremely amusing. Still, she was full. She had no need to feed right now. Perhaps she would take a raincheck.
“Can I buy you a drink, puppy?” Lav asked, her voice teasing rather than condescending. “Or maybe some water to sober you up.”
The wolf let out a barking laugh and hopped onto the barstool. She was taller than Lav by a good five inches naturally, though they were probably about equal with her heels on. “You sure can, your highness.”
Lav waved the bartender, a wolf by the name of Hog Eye, over and motioned for the woman to order. She ordered a bourbon and coke. He asked Lav if she wanted a refill and she nodded her head yes with a polite smile.
“Charlie,” She slurred, leaning against the bar heavily with a seductive smirk. “You, princess?”
The demon watched her, wondering what made her want to mess with a succubus while everyone else stood so far away from her. She was unafraid and unabashed. It was a little refreshing, to be honest.
“They call me Lavender.” She repeated the same words she had said to Jughead that morning. Her words were carefully chosen as Lav wanted to iterate that this was not a name she gave herself. It was one that was thrust upon her by her kin. Her human name had long since gone from this world, only to be uttered by Myra when she was in some kind of trouble.
Charlie seemed okay with her word choice, though Lav assumed that was more due to her drunkenness than conscientious thought. “So, you’re here covered in designer clothes for what exactly? That’s not going to attract anyone around here.”
“It attracted you.” Lav countered coyly, a sly smile on her lips that were painted red with lipstick.
A light pink blush spread across her cheeks, one that Charlie pretended was due to the consumption of alcohol and not actual embarrassment. Lavender bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing.
Charlie struggled to find a way to counter that. Normally she was quick with a comeback, but the dizziness of her mind made it difficult. “Not for the reason you think.” She said, a bold face lie that was caught onto quickly.
“Oh?” Lav asked, voice laced with a false air of innocence. “What reason would that be?”
Hog Eye placed two drinks in front of them. “You’re in a bar but you’re not drinking alcohol.” She pointed out, “Wearing expensive clothes. You look extremely suspicious. My curiosity is piqued.”
Lav hummed back a small affirmation, “and it has nothing to do with how hot I look tonight?” She asked, that signature devious glint in her blue-green eyes.
The blush darkened, but Charlie chose again not to address it or act at all like she’d be caught. “So, what are you doing here?” She asked, dodging the question.
“I was hoping to run into someone.” Lav answered honestly, stirring her drink with the clear straw that was stuck in it. She couldn’t stop thinking about the witch, no matter how hard she tried. It was starting to drive her a little mad, however she was not about to confess that to anyone.
Earlier when she was hunting, she had willed her hair to return to the way it was when she was born: dirty blonde and pin straight. She didn’t have her piercings or tattoos. However, when she crossed the railroad tracks both her wavy purple hair and body jewelry returned as they were her preferred appearance. She had managed to control herself but she knew this wouldn’t last. The blood bath would start in a few weeks. For now she left men living but without a soul just as she did with Sweet Pea. It didn’t bother her as long as she never saw them again.
Charlie looked around the bar as well, “I was too. He’s not here though.” She sighed softly, obviously just as disappointed as Lavender was though Lav chose not to show it.
They sat in silence for a bit, Charlie drinking more as Lav continued to stir her drink as her thoughts drifted to how she would have to work with Sweet Pea again to keep the Southside safe. It would be an interesting dynamic. He wouldn’t be able to tell she was pregnant yet. Would Jughead break the news to him? She assumed he wouldn’t if she asked him not to, however she really had no reason for him to keep it quiet. After all, anyone with a supernatural sense of smell knew and she certainly couldn’t silence all of them.
“Why don’t you come home with me?” Lav asked simply. “Instead of us both being alone.”
The wolf eyed her suspiciously, looking for some kind of deceit, “so you can kill me?”
“I’m not going to kill you.” Lav said back, a rare genuine smile on her face, “I just want company. I’m pregnant and alone.” And to tell the utmost truth she was scared. She was terrified of the future. How would the world change for all of them when her daughter was born? Would the world be set ablaze? Would all the creatures on Earth perish? The guilt was eating her alive.
“Are you going to feed off me?” Charlie asked, though she acted as if she wouldn’t truly care if Lav did happen to take her soul sometime in the night.
The succubus shook her head, “no. But that doesn’t mean I won’t have a little fun with you first…”
+++
Sweet Pea’s face was stern as he stared at the three card spread in front of him. It was the same as before. He shouldn’t be getting the same three cards over and over, and yet he did. His magic was stronger. He could feel it coursing thickly through his veins. But this. This was not something he wanted to see.
Three of Swords upright for the past. That was clear. The heartbreak and grief he had caused Lily during their brief time as lovers. His cheating on her shortly after she gave birth to Daisy. Him tearing them apart because he simply did not love her in the way she needed him to. A card marked by the emotional pain that they had both suffered.
The Devil upright for the present. Currently he could feel that he has become more and more a shadow of himself. The dark parts peeking out behind the mask he had worked so hard to fortify. His impossible sexual appetite and deviance made clear by sleeping with a succubus and losing his soul to her. He felt pulled to her still. Like he needed her body to be against him again. Her delicate throat in his hand, legs wrapped around him tightly. He was addicted after just one night.
Ten of Swords upright for the future. This was perhaps the most disturbing as this particular card was not a sign of anything good. At least not while it was upright. He would be betrayed and hurt. The ending to whatever this was would be painful and likely tragic. He was bound to lose something more dear to him than his soul and he prayed to his matrons and patrons that it wasn’t Daisy. Begged them to please not take his little girl from him as she was his entire world. The thought brought stubborn angry tears to his eyes.
Lily entered the room after sensing his distress. She quietly padded up to him before kneeling down beside him. Sweet Pea quickly pretended to be rubbing sleep from his eyes when he was actually trying to dispel his tears. It did not fool the mother of his child however. She glanced at the cards and her chest tightened with pain.
“She took your soul, didn’t she?” She asked quietly. The question was more rhetorical because she could feel that his spirit had faded. He’d been more irritable lately, his anger much more explosive than usual. It frightened her to a degree in that she was worried he’d take it out on Daisy somehow. She’d hex him herself if he did that.
Sweet Pea sighed heavily, his broad shoulders slumping forward. “Yes.” He replied in a low voice. “She was sent by Asmodeus to collect it as payment.”
Lily’s eyes hardened, “I told you.” She hissed. “I told you to stop taking from demons. I warned you this would happen. She-” Lily stopped, not wanting to continue because she wasn’t quite that spiteful towards him anymore. She wanted to say that the demon had used him just as he had used her. Now he knew how it felt to be the victim.
He cut his eyes at her, narrow and angry. “I was careful! I gave sacrifices! Offerings!”
“Clearly it wasn’t enough.” Lily replied sourly. “Because now you’re never going to be whole again. She could have killed you and left Daisy without a father. Maybe that would have been better.” She said harshly. Sweet Pea visibly flinched at her words.
Her own angry tears sprang to her eyes, “Now look what you’ve done.” She motioned towards his future care. “I know you’re not good with your minor arcana. Do you know what this means?”
“Yes, Lily!” He snapped, voice raising, “I know what it fucking means!”
Lily stood, not liking the tone he was taking with her one bit. Not since he put himself in this mess and she felt as if he was dragging her in as well. “It better not mean Daisy, Nathaniel. If it does, you will wish that bitch had killed you because I won’t be nearly as quick.”
She twirled around and stormed out of the cottage, needing to get out of the toxic air that was surrounding the both of them. Them screaming at one another was not something she wanted Daisy to hear. The toddler always cried when they fought and often had nightmares that same night when she finally fell asleep. Both felt terribly guilty afterwards.
She didn’t know where she was going as she made her way through the forest. She didn’t know where her new wolfy friend lived, though she had a general idea.
Lily’s furious tears trailed down her face as she entered the Sunnyside Trailer Park some time later. The moon was at its zenith now. The streets were empty as lamp lights flickered on and off due to bad connections that no one had the money to fix.
Something in her gut made her stop. Her ears pricked to try and hear any tiny sound. Leaves rustled in the wind. Branches scratched the sides of the double-wides she was in front of at the end of the side street. Something wasn’t right. Something had her desperately searching for who was watching her, what was watching her. She swallowed a thick ball of anxiety as she turned full circle in an attempt to see her stalker.
It was no avail. She muttered a protection spell under the breath that she knew wouldn’t be very powerful. She was without anything to increase her abilities. She hadn’t prayed or made any offerings lately. And she certainly wasn’t having any sex. All these things made her weaker than she’d like to be right now, alone, out in the open.
Then she saw it. A hulking figure clad in white fur running towards her at full speed. She recognized it as the vargulf that had attacked her on the night of the moon not long ago. She braced herself, uttering a silent prayer as she stood her ground.
He leaped high into the air, front paws landing heavily on her chest. She fell backwards onto the pavement, bright stars glistening in her blackened vision. He was trying to rip out her throat but her spell was narrowly protecting her. She felt her skin bruising from the pressure of his jaws as she screamed out in blind fury.
Lily grappled at the deranged wolf’s head, searching for his eyes to scratch out though it was not of much use. He was determined to make her his next victim and she was suddenly worried that she was the loss that Sweet Pea would suffer.
No, she couldn’t leave her little girl like that. Not in a million years. She yelled again, this time in a dead language to force him off of her. There was a pulse of power and the vargulf was thrown off. Lily quickly sat up, panting heavily as she watched it struggle to stand. Some invisible pressure was on top of it and it was howling in pain.
Did she do that? The spell she just recited shouldn’t have the power to do what was happening. She was trying to repel him, not crush him.
Suddenly a familiar hand was yanking her off the ground and pulling her down the street so urgently that she kept tripping over her own two feet. Only when they were safely inside of a trailer did she become calm enough to realize that it was Jughead.
He raced to the window and peaked out the blinds. The white wolf was gone and nowhere to be found. His trailer was warded against it so it couldn’t possibly get in without an intense amount of magic.
His eyes didn’t leave the window as he began to slowly relax, “Are you okay?” He asked before finally stealing a glance her way. Lily was shaking lightly, looking as if she was about to collapse. Her emotions were getting the better of her and she felt faint. Not just that but she could feel the blood oozing from the back of her head.
She felt incredibly faint and Jug rushed to her side to hold her steady. His parents were still at the Whyte Wyrm working on a plan to figure out the identity of the vargulf while his little sister was sleeping soundly in her bed. How she didn’t wake up to the screams and howls outside, he didn’t know.
He took her into his bedroom and sat her down on the bed before she could hurt herself more by falling down again. He could smell the blood in her hair. “Stay here. He can’t get in here, you’re safe. Let me get something for your head.”
Jughead came back with a damp rag and a bag of ice. He cleaned the back of her head gently before wrapping the ice in a clean cloth and setting it against the wound. Lily winced but relaxed nonetheless. “You probably shouldn’t go to sleep. You may have a concussion.”
Lily sighed as she struggled to keep her eyes open. Her adrenaline was draining from her fast and she was growing more and more tired. Jughead frowned lightly at her, seeing how sleepy she was. “What are you doing out there and at this time of night?”
“I came to find you.” She confessed, tears started to well up into her eyes again. This time they were out of sadness and not out of anger. “I’m worried about Sweet Pea.”
His gaze softened. He didn’t know the full story but he knew Sweet Pea was the father of her child. He also knew that they were no longer together. “How so?” He asked.
Lily let out a shaky breath. “He slept with a succubus the other night and...she took his soul. She meant to kill him but he stopped her.”
He went rigid, blood running cold. “What did she look like?” He asked suddenly.
“Purple hair, lots of piercings, pretty...why?” She asked, eyes almost slipping shut until he shook her back awake.
Jughead knew then. He knew it had to have been Lavender and that Sweet Pea must be the father of her child. It was too big of a coincidence. He wasn’t sure if Lily could handle the news right now. However he feared if he kept it from her then she’d be even more upset with him.
“Lily,” Jughead said gently, rubbing her shoulder lightly. “I have to tell you something and I need you to remain calm.”
She hummed back a nonverbal response, green eyes staring up at him with exhaustion.
“The demon you speak of is...a neighbor of mine.” He continued, watching her tense slightly before relaxing again. “And I’ve asked for her help with the spell.”
Lily tried to pull away from him but he kept his grip on her firm. “You asked a-”
“She’s pregnant.” He cut her off. “Pregnant demons are extremely powerful. She said she’d help. Lily, listen,”
Lily freed herself from him then, eyes wide with surprise. She wanted to pinch herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. Maybe she had been pregnant before Sweet Pea? Wouldn’t he have said something? This was impossible, the child couldn’t be his!
“She’s going to help us protect the forest, Lily. Please, the power of four is twice as good as the power of two, right?” He asked with a pleading voice.
She fell silent, wanting to cry again or scream or run home to slap the shit out of Sweet Pea for being such a goddamn idiot. Jughead pulled her into a strong hug. He could see the emotions on her face, smell the despair coming off of her. “It will be okay...I promise.”

Ateneo College Entrance Test
Application Process: Paper (you have to claim your application kit from the university)
Application Period: June – August
Exam Date: August – September (last year’s exam was held on September 24)
Guide to Each Test
The following is what I can remember about each subtest of the ACET. The order of the tests here may not be accurate:
1. English Proficiency
This portion tests your knowledge of basic grammar (correct usage of verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, single-word analogy, etc.). The questions were not very difficult. HOWEVER, this was a difficult portion of the ACET because aside from answering 90 – 100 multiple choice questions, you also need to write an essay within the time limit. Think of it as a two-in-one portion. If I remember correctly, the time limit ranged from 30 – 45 minutes, which seemed so short, believe me. ☹ For the essay, a topic will be given to you. I can’t remember the essay topic of last year’s ACET, but I remember it being quite broad. For this portion, I advise you to speed through the multiple-choice part (without sacrificing accuracy, of course) so that you still have enough time for writing your essay.
2. Reading Comprehension
In this portion, a few of the passages were quite difficult to understand, and the questions didn’t always ask for facts. Sometimes it required you to analyze the meaning of a text (whether implied or explicit). To prepare for this test, practice reading faster. Try not to read the whole passage; it’s more efficient to read the questions first then skim the passages for the answers.
3. Math
The Math portion was quite difficult. There were many questions about lines (slopes of lines, equations of lines, finding the point of intersection of two lines, etc.) and geometry (finding the angles in transversal lines, perimeter and area, etc.). There were also a few world problems. Once again, your enemy in answering this test is TIME.
4. Abstract Reasoning
As the name of the test suggests, its purpose it to test your aptitude in finding patterns or differences in figures. This shouldn’t be very difficult, and you can look at CET reviewers online or in bookstores for sample tests like this. However, TIME is very limited. In last year’s test, there were 25 questions that I had to answer in 5 MINUTES.
5. Vocabulary
Probably one of my favorite portions of the ACET, it is designed to test your vocabulary. It would really help if you are a wide reader, since I recognized most of the words from the books I read. To prepare for this part, I suggest that you take the necessary steps to widen your vocabulary. Aside from reading more, try learning the definition of a few unfamiliar words each day. Similar to the Abstract Reasoning portion, there were 25 questions that had to be answered in 5 minutes.
6. Logical Reasoning
This portion was also quite difficult. The questions came in the form of statements/premises (e.g. “Insects are filthy creatures”, “Man is a mortal being.”). Then, you have to pick the most logical conclusion that can be drawn from the statements/premises given (e.g. “All Caucasians are mortal beings”, “No Caucasians are mortal beings”, “Insects are always filthy creatures”, “Insects are sometimes filthy creatures”). To prepare for this test, review basic Logic (if you took this up in Math/Research class). Make sure to know how to draw a logical conclusion from a set of premises. You have more than 5 minutes to answer this portion, but the time limit was still quite short.
7. Numerical Ability
I remember that this was the last portion of the ACET and, at least for me, also the most relaxing. It was 25 items of the word problems you encounter in Algebra, basically (age, work, mixture problems, etc.). There were also a few questions that required you to apply your knowledge of ratio, proportion, and variations. You have more than 5 minutes to answer this portion, but again, the time limit was still short.
How to Prepare for the ACET
1. Speed
Of the Top 4 CETs, the ACET is definitely the most stressful one to take because of the TIME PRESSURE. I read somewhere that the ACET was designed not to be finished (hence, the ridiculous 5-minute limits jk jk); however, this does not mean that you shouldn’t try! If you wish to pass the ACET, you must work on your speed when it comes to answering. You can do this by timing yourself while taking practice tests. Keep practicing until you can finish answering most, if not all, of the items within the time limit ( while still paying attention to accuracy, of course). By simulating the hectic, time-pressured environment you’ll most likely experience in the ACET, you’ll be able to cope better with the pressure during the actual exam.
2. Review Math
If you’ve noticed, many of the subtests are related to Math (Math, Numerical Ability, Logic). Therefore, I suggest you to pay special attention to this subject. No need to review Science since the ACET doesn’t have a Science portion.
3. Practice your Writing Skills
If you thought you were done with writing when you submitted your essay together with your ACET application, think again. With your application essay, you have the privilege of time and guidance from Grammar Nazis or your English teachers. In the actual ACET, you’ll have neither. Therefore, you need to practice writing a proper essay. Make sure you know how to apply the rules of grammar and how to construct a sound essay (introduction – body – conclusion). Aside from this, you also need to come up with the main idea (and the supporting ideas) of your essay more quickly so that you can finish writing it within the short time limit. (And of course, write legibly!)
Additional Tips:
1. Choose the best time for you.
I don’t know if this will be the case every year, but for my batch, we were given the freedom to pick our preferred time to take the exam (morning or afternoon). I think you should choose the best time for you, while considering the time when you’re most alert/active/energetic and the travel time.
2. Get there early.
The traffic in Katipunan is usually bad, and it gets worse when it’s the scheduled date for the ACET. Unlike the other tests, where your parents can drop you off directly in front of your assigned building/site for the exam, ACET takers are picked up by a shuttle from a certain place and brought to the testing site. Trust me, you’d want to be early.
3. Do your necessities before the test.
Ifthey tell you that the proctor will allow you to use the bathroom before the test starts, DON’T FALL FOR IT. I had a super strict proctor who said he’d start the test even if there were still people in the bathroom (smh). In all honesty, my ACET experience was horrible because I was holding in my pee for at least 2 hours. Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to leave the room (even for bathroom breaks) once the test begins, except during break time. There’s a break in between (around 15 minutes), but with the long lines and few bathrooms spread far apart, the time might not be enough.
In my opinion, the questions in the ACET were average in terms of difficulty (I found the questions in the DLSUCET more difficult). However, the time pressure really makes a difference. I also observed that the acceptance rate of the ACET is not as high as the DCAT. If I remember correctly, the scores of applicants are ranked based on percentile (meaning your performance/score depends on the performance of others as well), and ADMU only accepts a certain number of students. However, don’t despair if you are waitlisted! Many of the applicants who passed decide not to enroll, so their slot is given to others. I have a classmate who was waitlisted, so she submitted a letter of appeal (you’ll be given instructions on how to do this later) and other requirements. A few months later, she was informed that she made it 😊
I hope this helped aspiring Ateneans! Feel free to message me/send me an ask if you have more questions about the ACET. Best of luck xx

07 ~ Unlock Code
King
The weight in my chest was heavier than I anticipated. Yesterday, me and Mike Shaw my good friend from childhood days, had a quick conversation over the phone and somehow, someway, I slipped up and mentioned I was looking for a counselor. Regards to my lack of trusting a phone conversation; I allowed Mike the chance to inform me of Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh. Therapist to the celebrities and known for his sessions which are recorded and aired through Nosey TV. So far, I only had the chance to watch a few. Kendrick Lamar, YG, Prodigy, and Freddie Gibbs. As emotional attached I became to these interventions and learning something new about rapper and influencers who I appreciate; it doesn’t mean this poor man could handle the truths of an US Government Assassin. Besides that, I was sitting inside of my Lexus, my eyes wondered off to the iPhone resting on my lap. Not one chime for a notification has come from it since I delivered the message to my father on my intentions of speaking with Dr. Singh and as much as I disregarded the man’s approval; he was technically my boss. So, his say so was important. I made a pledge and swore in that the secrets I learned in this business would go with me to the graveyard and further, but I also knew how important my health is. The first session of a three-part agreement was taking place in ten minutes and as much as I rather be home in my bed, I was in Los Angeles, California, parked outside of Dr. Singh’s personal offices not too far from Beverly Hills, California. With three different sessions, I knew I had three major principles to touch on. My mother, troubles and worries of my mind, and then, of course, Chrissie Smith. There was still no response while I walked into the building, and nothing while I signed in with his receptionist at the front desk. I took a seat in the lobby; taking in the view of the colors of the office. Different shades of browns, achievements and awards, and timeline photos were presented around the area. Vintage mixed with modernized techs.
“Mr. Vitale, Dr. Singh is ready for your appointment. Would you like a water or anything? We have Coke beverages also.“ Hennessey. That’s what I need. Shaking my head, I push off the wall directly across from the door which was entrance to the back of the office. The second we entered, I took the chance to look around at my surrounds. The tone-downed Brown sitting area was something worth taking the time to appreciate. Unlike the lobby, nothing besides two chairs and a small glass table sat in the center of the room. The entrance shifted your mindset some with the photos and achievements of others. In here, you were shifted back to what you came for. This was where you thought about it all. I could feel it.
"Mr. Kingston Vitale." The strong accent caught my attention. Coming face to face with one of the powerful and latest voices. If I could say. The man has helped a lot of his own people, come out and face their demons. I just hope me and Mike were right about him. "Just King.” I responded with as I took the seat on the right side, directly in front of his.
“Kingston, King’s town……Jamaica capital, a lot of islanders have name their sons after the powerful name. King; we both know the power behind that. Leader,” He started off with, sitting down in front of me. “Your parents have strong belief in you and most importantly want you to know where you’re from." "My father is an Jamaican. He stands strong in his beliefs for a fact. We haven’t been back to Morant Bay since I was about ten. It’s been a minute, obviously.” Chuckling afterwards, trying to lighten my own darken mood. As much as I tell myself I’m going back, I never find the time. “What’s been keeping you from going back? You’re healthy looking man. Grown and you can take of yourself. I’m sure you can go home for a few days.”
“Of course,” Immediately the words came out my mouth. Almost making me feel bad for being so confident in my tone because I knew there was more to it than just going. “My mother loved Jamaica. The people, the culture. Everything. She married my father when she was only fifteen. How? I don’t know. They said it was common back in the days. Regardless, her love for the island made me not want to go. Not if she wasn’t there.”
“She wasn’t Jamaican?”
“No,” I said, laughing at the question because it reminds me of myself as a young boy. Curious. “She was an Italian woman.”
“Now, pardon me, King. But you continue to use past tense verbs. Leading me to believe something happened. What happened? If you don’t mind telling me.” And that’s when he asked me the golden question.
“My mother committed suicide in 2003, I was a junior in High School, going on 17 when it happened. That’s what set the tone for me, my father, and the rest of the family. There was this undeniable division placed in between everyone. My aunt, my mother’s oldest sister, always feels the need to remind me that my mother never wanted kids. Her side of the family, well besides one person, doesn’t know what pushed her to the ultimate breaking point. But they have ideas.” I know I dropped a bomb on him, but I’m a straight forward kind of guy. And I would’ve have come here today if I didn’t plan to get some kind of healing done. “I’m sorry for your lost, first off. Suicide is heavy, its unbearable and even though I understand this is hard for you. You’re getting through it. That’s a major step,” Dr. Singh said. “You said something interesting, though. First, your aunt. Her and the family’s dislike for you. Did your mother’s death strictly enforced that or was it always there?” “I don’t know, I can’t remember at least. My childhood has slowly become a blur now. I remember the last time we saw each other, a week before my birthday that flowing year. I was in a Wal-Mart, just hanging with my homeboy, Mike, and I saw Nicole, my mom’s sister. We spoke, she seemed okay. But then something sparked, like a dark cloud came over her. That’s when she said she needed to be honest with me. That ‘my mother never really wanted kids and maybe I was the key problem. A teenage boy is never easy to handle especially with a father like mine’.” “A father like yours?” “He works with the government. So, it’s a lot of late hours and random leaves from the family. It was overwhelming, I won’t lie about that." "I’ve done my research, you too are an involved in government." It wasn’t a question, so I shrugged it off.
"What do you believe when it comes to your mother’s death, Kingston? Do you believe it was you, her, or your father?” “I’m not going to sit here and say I was picture perfect. Everyone has their flaws and wrongs. My mother dealt with a lot. I’m sure there’s shit I don’t even know about being so young, but my father is a handful. I know that for myself. I also know, one small thing doesn’t lead someone to shooting themselves in the head. It’s multiple issues, multiple unsettled arguments and problems.”
Chrissie
Christmas Eve and I’m sitting in my office, shoving down a raspberry filled donut and drinking my Fiji water. I was going on half of a dozen and not once did I feel bad for my naughty dinner. My teeth may in a few weeks, but for now I wasn’t worried about that. There hours have passed by and I’m still sitting in the same spot as before. No work has been done yet and again; I didn’t care.
Honestly, this is Olivia’s fault.
Since some nights; I’ve been fucked. Figuratively speaking of course, but however, I am. No, I never spoke with Kingston. For as long as my memory serves me right; he hates me. And if it’s not hate than its about him not wanting to be around me. Regardless of why. He kept himself away from me. While also making sure that I also stayed away from him. Overnight the man changed, forced himself to change at least. And being the ‘friend’ that wanted to see him shine; I allowed the pain because I didn’t want to outshine him or dim his lights down.
As the weeks turned into months, months turned into years, and years turned into memories. The thought of why; was blocked away. To me, there was no need of wondering why the man stopped wanting to be around me. I had my ideas, but never gave the time to believe them. Olivia says I deserve it to myself to know why. Kingston’s darkest secrets and painful childhood memories are installed into my brain permanently. I thought Liv and I experienced it bad during our childhood days. The man lost his mother to suicide, his family hates him and his father, his father hates him, he hates himself at times, and the only thing that makes him happy now is blood. Kingston hard-shelled exterior, but a jelly interior. My light brown nude painted nails, trailed and ran across the screen of my phone as my body became heavy with emotions. I felt my nose starting to burn, my back arching from anticipation, my eyes watering with fear. All too much to bear.
"Kingston Vitale,” My head dropped in a mini-defeat mood at the sound of his voice. “Leave a message." His voicemail. I knew then it wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t the trouble of trying to fix and figure out. Hell, the man is probably home with his wife and kids playing house.
What kind of woman would I be to come in between that?

Tips on Solving English Grammar Test Questions on Verb
Grammar Rules with 16 Tips on using Verbs
What is a Verb?
Verbs are words that describe an action, an occurrence, or a state of being; mental, physical, or mechanical. Verbs form one of the main parts of a sentence or question in English.
Function of Verb: It answers the following questions
a) What a person or thing do? She teaches in school. (active)
b) What is done to a person or a thing? The house was cleaned. (passive)
c) What is the time of action? I am going to Jaipur tomorrow. (future tense)
d) What a person or thing is? My brother is a doctor. (‘be’ as an ordinary verb)
Types of Verbs:
1. Auxiliary Verb (Be, Have, Do): used together with a main verb to show the verb’s tense or to form a negative or a question: Does Sam write his own reports?
2. Modal Verb: Can/Could, Will/ Would, Shall/ Should, May/Might--used to express ability, possibility, permission or obligation: You can go to school.
3. Transitive Verb: action of verb transits/ passes over to an object: She ate the fruits. (fruits is ‘direct object’)
4. Intransitive Verb: action of verb does not transit/pass over to an object: The cat sneezed.
5. Stative Verb: relates to a state of being, a thought, or an emotion but not an action: He feels elated.
6. Action Verb: expresses physical or mental action: She is walking in the park. (or) He believes that it can be done.
7. Regular Verb: takes add -ed or -d to the base form of the verb to create the past forms: (Play-Played)
8. Irregular Verbs don’t take on the regular –d, -ed, or -ied spelling patterns of the past simple or past participle: (Catch-Caught)
9. Phrasal Verb: made with a main verb and another word (either a preposition or a particle) and forms a meaning different to the main verb: A burglar will often break a window to break in.
10. Finite Verb: shows tense and are conjugated to agree with the subject: She was waiting in the room.
11. Non-Finite Verb: do not show tense. They are of three types:
a) Participle: usually formed by adding –ing or –ed to a verb. It functions as an adjective: The singing bird was the main attraction at the event.
b) Gerunds: formed by adding –ing to a verb. It functions as a noun: Smoking is prohibited in the hospital.
c) Infinitive: formed by using the word ‘to’ before the verb in its stem word. It functions as a noun, adjective or adverb: Shalini loves to talk.
12. Link Verb: Some verbs are followed by either a noun or an adjective: He became angry. (noun + verb + adjective)
13. Causative Verb: used to indicate that some person/thing makes, requires, forces or helps to make something happen: I made my friend write a letter.
Tips on using Verbs:
Tip #1: Singular-Plural Subject-Verb Agreement: Subjects and verbs must AGREE with one another in number (singular or plural).
a) A singular subject takes a singular verb: The dog growls when he is angry.
b) A plural subject takes a plural verb: The dogs growl when they are angry.
c) Phrases between the subject and verb not affect agreement: The dog, which belongs to my relatives, usually growls at strangers.
Tip #2: Verbs in Tense In the present tense: Nouns ADD an s to the singular form; Verbs REMOVE the s from the singular form.
a) Singular: The dog chases the cat.
b) Plural: The dogs chase the cat.
In the simple past tense: The verb remains the same when without any helping verbs.
a) Singular: The girl talked to me.
b) Plural: The girls talked to me.
Is-are, was-were, has-have, does-do: When helping verbs are used with a main verb, there must be Subject-Verb Agreement:
a) Singular: The girl has talked to me.
b) Plural: The girls have talked to me.
Tip #3: Unlike, Besides, With, Except As well as, Like, Unlike, Besides, in addition to, With, Together with, Along with, and not, Rather than, No less than, Except, Nothing, No more than: When these words join two or more subjects, the verb is used according to the first subject.
a) Nothing but prayer is valuable. (here prayer is in singular number so we use singular verb ‘is’)
b) The coach as well as the players was honored by the government. (the first subject ‘coach’ is singular so we use singular verb ‘was’, not ‘were’)
Tip #4: Either-Or, neither Nor Not only-But also, Either-or, Neither-nor, none-but: When these words join two or more subjects, the verb is used according to the nearest subject.
a) One or two books is are needed. (Nearest subject ‘books’ is in plural so we use plural verb ‘are’)
b) None but the students are responsible for the chaos in the class.
c) Neither the class teacher nor the students were present in the assembly.
Tip #5: Each, Every Each, Every, None, Anyone, Neither and Either: When these words are used as pronouns or adjectives, the following verb should be in the third person singular.
a) Neither of the two workers have has come today. (Though we are talking about two workers, we still use ‘has’)
None: when used with uncountable nouns, verb is singular.
a) None of the information is correct.
Each: when used after subject, verb is plural.
a) They each are obedient.
b) Each of the students is obedient. (Here ‘each’ is an adjective, so singular verb)
