Summary: April was able to figure out her first brother easily. Now, she gets three more, with a couple more issues to worry about.

One brother was already a lot. He was sweet, if a little violent. April was content with one brother.

Then she found out he had two more. Lost in their youth, taken away, never to be seen again. Suddenly, one wasn't enough. April wanted three brothers.

So she got them. One by one, she welcomed her new brothers into their home. She helped them feel safe and welcomed. And, in turn, they helped her learn her place as a big sister.

Now, four? Four whole brothers? That was pushing it.

Donnie was a wild card. Some days, he'd bounce around madly, blabbering about whatever “improvements” he'd made in the lair (always putting Splinter on edge, yet he could never find any problems with whatever Donnie did, probably because his brothers did damage control before he could catch it). Other days, he'd literally hiss at April until she left. Not just left the lair; left the sewers.

This day was supposed to be one of those days. Donnie was visibly shaking with all the pent up energy in him. The brothers had apparently had an “intervention” with Donnie after the previous night, when he had almost broken a major support beam in the lair just so he could collapse it on April. Now, he wasn't allowed to show violence to April in any form for a whole week. In exchange, he'd be allowed to take a single blood sample from each of his brothers, which was the weirdest trade April had ever heard. But Donnie really wanted it.

And boy, was it hard for him.

“Did you see that?! Did you see? I totally landed that one!” Mikey yelped, shaking on his skateboard.

“Good job, big man.” Raph stepped up beside him, lightly touching Mikey's shoulder and making his eyes widen as he tried to maintain his balance.

Mikey had been wanting to practice his skate tricks, and Raph wanted to make sure he did it in a safe environment. The skate ramp in the lair was perfect. Even if they were just practicing kickflips at the bottom, it was safe and contributed to good vibes.

While Raph and Mikey stood at the bottom, April, Leo, and Donnie sat at the top with their legs dangling beneath them. Well, April and Leo's legs were dangling. Donnie was perched up like a frog, knees thrown out to the sides and his hands curled on the edge of the ramp. Leo, of course, was between him and his self proclaimed mortal enemy, absorbing as much murderous intent as he could. It was a lot, to put it nicely.

“Do you think he'll ever actually get to use the ramp?” Leo asked, enjoying the spectacle of his youngest brother getting properly babied by his oldest.

“Four is definitely tough enough to survive a fall from this height,” Donnie responded cheerily. “His shell is the best of all of us. A human, on the other hand, would likely get severely injured if they were to be shoved off the edge.” His face grew the slightest grin at the imaginary violence.

“Watch the language.” Leo raised a brow to Donnie. “And it's Mikey, remember? Not Four.”

“R-right!” Donnie stammered, patting his hands on the side of the ramp. “Four is Mikey.”

“No, Mikey is Mikey. His name isn't Four, and it never was. Just like my name isn't Two, Raph's name isn't One, and your name isn't Three. You're our brother. Donatello.”

Leo was getting slightly agitated, and Donnie- or maybe Three- was starting to fidget and rock back and forth. It was clear that Leo wanted Donnie to just give up all this number talk and act like their childhoods hadn't happened. But that was just an impossible task. April could tell that this situation would be quick to spiral.

“Hey, uh, Leo?” April asked, getting his attention.

“Yes?”

“Betcha can't do an ollie.”

Leo turned fully to face April. “A what?”

“I-it's a skateboard trick…” Donnie said, causing Leo's attention to whip around again. “F- Mikey showed me a couple days ago.”

“Oh.” Leo's brow ridges tightened as he whipped back to face April. “You think I can't pull some stupid skate trick? You are so on.” Leo slid down the ramp, using his carapace like a sled. “Mikey! Give me your board!”

Donnie watched him slide down with wide eyes. “Has he… ever skated before?” He asked, mildly concerned.

“Nope. Never even touched a board.” April smirked. “He's gonna be stuck down there for at least an hour.” She looked over at Donnie, who was gazing down at his brothers with a lost glaze over his eyes.

“You wanna go join them, Donnie?”

The softshell's neck popped as he snapped to glare at April. The murderous intent that had been building suddenly channeled into his face, and he growled before standing up and stomping away swiftly toward his recently decorated room.

April glanced down at the three brothers having fun, then pushed herself up to follow the one who wasn't.

“Wait, Donnie! What's wrong? I-”

“Stop.” The turtle hissed, not turning around to face her.

“Stop? Donnie, what did I-”

“I SAID STOP IT! STOP CALLING ME THAT!” He pressed the heels of his hands into the sides of his head.

“What do you mean? Just tell me what's-”

The turtle turned on his heel in the doorframe. “JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! I don't know how to put it in a way your STUPID HUMAN BRAIN WILL UNDERSTAND!” His face morphed into a manic grin. “Goodbye! So long! Sayonara! Toodaloo! GET OUT OF MY FACE!”

The door slammed shut, and April was left breathless.

April came back the next day to a much quieter lair. The boys were keeping space from each other, whether consciously or not. Raph was wandering around, trying to act like everything was okay. Leo was training in the dojo. Mikey was spending more time around Splinter than he usually did.

The final brother was still locked in his room.

April decided to join Mikey to bring him his second meal of the day. The first one, a small plate of rice, was still outside the door, now cold and dry.

Mikey knocked lightly, barely tapping the door with his knuckles. “Donnie?” He whispered. “I've got more food for you. It's your favorite- flavorless mush! I tested it myself, no taste at all. I promise!”

The offer was met with silence.

Mikey sighed and let his shoulders slump, backing away from the door. “I just don't get it,” he muttered pathetically. “He hasn't even come out to pee, April. Do you think he's just peeing in a cup? Or a corner? Does Donnie have a pee corner that we don't know about?”

“Mikey, it's okay.” April grabbed his shoulder. “First of all, yes, he probably does, and that just means we get to bond over cleaning his room when this is over. Second, you shouldn't have to worry about this.”

“I'm so sorry, April.” Mikey looked down to his feet. “I don't know why he hates you so much. Maybe if we hadn't-”

“Don't apologize,” April interrupted. “If anyone needs to apologize, it's me.”

Mikey looked back up at his big sister with wide eyes. “Why?”

She sighed. “Because I did something wrong.” April took the food from Mikey's hands. “I'll get him to eat. I'll text you if things go super wrong, but otherwise, ignore any loud noises. I have a feeling this might get… violent.”

Mikey puffed his chest. “Roger, roger!” He saluted and rushed down the hall, supposedly to find Raph and warn him of April's plan before he could start panicking.

April stood next to the door. “Hey, bud,” she started. “It's April. I've got your food, and I'm not gonna leave until you let me in to give it to you.”

After about two minutes of just standing there and getting no response, April sat down. She would say something every few minutes, just to remind him she was still there.

48 minutes later, the lock clicked.

April opened the door slowly. Glancing around the room, she could see the state of disarray it was in. Clothes carpeted the floor, as well as abandoned scrap projects. The turtle was cloaked beneath blankets on his bed, only his bright eyes glaring out at the invader.

She left the door open and stood to the side, getting just close enough. She didn't want him to feel threatened or trapped. She placed the (well cold by now) food next to the growling blanket pile and backed away. Waiting a second, just until he proved he would actually start eating, she spoke.

“Why don't you want me to call you Donnie?”

The pile shifted. “You just… you just can't.”

“Why not?”

“...because Splinter gave me that name. It's my name as his son. As Raph, Leo, and Mikey's brother. Not yours.”

April was about to pose a question, but the softshell suddenly sat up and started showing his anger. In the action, he also revealed the red marks growing on his arms from squeezing them.

“Because I don't care how much time you spend around us. I don't care how much One likes you, or how much Four draws you, or how much stupid stuff you watch with Two! You aren't related to me. It's scientifically impossible. We don't share any genetic material. You aren't my brother!”

With frazzled eyes, he turned and grabbed April's collar, bringing the two face to face.

“And you are most definitely not my sister.”

He shoved April away and sulked back in his den. The girl decided to take the violent outburst as an invitation to get closer, and sat on the edge of the bed.

“...that's okay.”

She only got a sniff in response.

“I don't need to be your sister. Or your brother. All I want is to be your friend. And if that means I call you something else, that's okay. Just tell me what you want me to call you, and I'll do it. Maybe I can call you Purple like Splints has been. Or I'll call you Three, if you really want me to.”

The turtle, Donnie to some, showed his face, keeping the blankets wrapped around his shoulders. His fingers were digging into his upper arms.

“And I know you might not like me, but I'm not going anywhere. Your brothers like me, and they'll be upset if I go away.” When she saw the softshell's grip tighten, she quickly added, “And I know that if they had to choose, they'd pick you. But they don't have to. They don't want to.”

The turtle stared aimlessly in front of him. “...I don't… I…”

“I can just not call you anything if you can't decide. Y'know, just call you ‘dude’ and stuff.”

His shoulders lifted higher, touching the sides of his chin. “That… that works…”

April smiled wide. “Great.”

The two sat there, just accepting each other's company. Donnie's tight posture slowly loosened, and April focused on making sure his breathing was even.

This poor boy had never known true family. He had never known learning to trust people and taking them in. He had never been taken in. This concept, choosing family, was so foreign. Because to him, family wasn't something you could choose.

April would never allow that. Never again.

“...sooo, do you have a pee corner?”

“What?!”

April held her hands up defensively. “Mikey said you haven't come out to pee! I just wanted to know if you had a pee corner!”

“No?! Why would you automatically assume I have a pee corner?”

“Because you haven't come out of your room to pee! What, do you have a pee cup instead?!”

“No!”

“Then what have you been doing?!”

Donnie pointed to a spot in the room, and April looked over to see a very D.I.Y. toilet, made of scrap metal welded together. (She could recall that Donnie's welding materials had been taken from him weeks ago.) “I hooked it up to go straight into the tunnels,” Donnie boasted proudly. “I even dug the holes myself! Digged? Dug.”

“...yeeeah, we're getting rid of that,” April grimaced.

“WHAT?! WHY?!”

“YOU KNOW VERY WELL WHY.”

[In time, Donnie would let April call him by his name. And, in time, he would learn that his name was his, and his alone.]

And that's it! Totally! April has started on her long journey to fixing all of her broken brothers! She has NO OTHER BROTHERS THAT HAVE ISSUES, why would you ever think that 🟥🐢

This part gave me quite a few problems. Knowing that the "Maps" comic is probably going to explore April and Donnie's relationship, I was a little scared about making assumptions. Also, you don't realize how difficult it is to write someone who isn't all there until you're actually trying to do it. Eventually I just said "screw it, if he's out of character, its fine". So now we're here :)

ALso, no one tells you how motivating and powerful the high you get when someone you look up to praises your work is, I thought this would take me WAY LONGER to finish 🤡

aanyway, congrats to all the tmnt au comp winners, again. Can't wait to see who moves on from here :D

Oooh I am so tired of the twinkification of haikyuu characterssss Istg if I see one more fanart of Ushijima where he looks like the love interest of a shoujou anime, and is lean/skinny I'm gonna actually scream wth guys he's beefy he's MUSCULAR he is a professional athlete and is like 6"4 I keep seeing fanarts where he has more of Tendou's physique and it bothers me sm like I always see fanart of him and I don't recognize its him cause he's so skinny and I'm like "Who is that? He's wearing the Shiratori- Oh my God, that's not Ushijima, is it????" And then I check the tags, and it is, and I'm like ???? Like, I'm all for drawing characters according to your headcanons, but Ushijima??? Lean??? And I'll go on Pinterest to get ship stuff bc it's less organized and lowkey easier to find stuff since it's just pictures, yk? But I'll look at it, and it's all that weird ass 2000s-2010s artstyle. Take Tsukihina, for example, and Hinata looks like a child. Like Tsukishima is HUGE, and Hinata is TINY!! Their height difference is not that big. And I feel like a lot of it is from comics or doujinshi, and the style just looks like it's from something R rated ykwim???? Like all of it is just helpless baby Hinata 🥺🥺 and his huge tall 'alpha' bf Tsukishima who hates everybody but him. Like they just take random characters and twinkify them; they make them overtly feminine for no reason and it makes me sooo madddd I am sick of fuckin Thumbelina Hinata and Levi Ackerman Ushijima make it stop!!!! OR THE OPPOSITE WHERE THEY MAKE RANDOM CHARACTERS SUPER DOMINANT AND SEXY AND WEIRD BC 1 THEY ALWAYS USE THE HIGH SCHOOL VERSIONS OF THEM AND 2 THEY ARE FUCKING LOSERS AND NERDS THEYRE NOT CALLING A GODDAMN SOUL "BABYGIRL 🫦😩" THEY ARE CALLING EACH OTHER MORONS AND INSULTINF THEIR HAIRCUTS **edit, I just wanted to add that all the fanarts I see of the popular characters, e.g ushijima, atsumu/osamu, oikawa, etc, all have the same exact face toooo, And I actually HATE the kind of art where people make them *so* buff they look like a Jojo or DBZ character,, someone who reblogged brought that up a bit and REALLL I hate it. And this is kinda irrelevant, but I think people also forget that people's body types change over time. Changing a characters body type (at least according to the character/source) should be fine, as that's what happens as you age. A character from an apocalypse show probably isn't gonna be super buff, but rather lean bc yes they are technically working out in the fact that they are traveling a lot and idk like killing zombies or whatever the basis for the show is, but there's also gonna be a loss of food yk, so they'd still be rather skinny. And that'd be the case for any body type. A high schooler isn't gonna have the same body as an adult, and people don't usually account for that, which is fine, I'm not saying anybody has to because it's such a small thing usually, but it's just a small pet peeve of mine. (I want a muscular post time skip Osamu with some chubbiness so bad he loves to eat, but he does still like working out. I just know that man has some chub on his stomach and I want it 😩😩)

If looks could kill, Haibara Yu will be on the kitchen floor in a pool of his own blood with the way Sukuna was looking at him like he was going to pop a vein on his forehead. It was almost comical since he was holding onto a bottle of strawberry milk and looked like he was about to squeeze it broken with how tight his fists were.

“Man, she seems different from the stories is all I'm saying.”

Sukuna eyed him enquiringly, a menacing hint to it as he breathed out slowly. As far as he was concerned, he never heard any bad rumor about you. “What stories?” He noted the defensive note in his tone, his protective side coming out.

“You heard me.” Yu lifted his shoulders slightly to express uncertainty. “She gets invited to all the parties but she declines all of them and everyone thinks she’s a two-faced snob. And I also heard someone claiming that she said she doesn't mix with commoners.”

It explained why Sukuna has never seen you in any of the parties he has been in. He only knew you from school, and if he did see you at any party, he wouldn’t have passed up the opportunity to approach you at least once. He knew himself, and he appreciated beauty. But maybe that was for the better because then, you probably wouldn’t have liked to be in the same breathing space as him with the way he acts in those gatherings.

His facial muscles suddenly rearranged into a scowl, causing the other male to back away. “Who said that?” he hissed. He couldn’t accept what he was hearing. At the same time, he doesn’t understand where the irritation was coming from. He just can’t take it hearing the slander being thrown at you. You didn’t deserve it at all.

“Do those people even realize how busy she is?”

“Dude, I just heard that.”

“I know, but she’s the real deal. Don’t go listening to what those pricks at school are saying. She’s the kindest person I’ve ever known. She’s so nice to me. Me!”

“Figures,” Yu said slowly, smirking.

“Go talk to her. Get to know her. You’ll get the proof you want,” Sukuna challenged but Yu shook his head. “If she’s being nice to evil little Ryomen, then that’s proof enough.”

"You wanna die?"

"Man, I believe you! Geez!"

Sukuna still shot Yu a dirty look as he walked back to the living room, unable to wrap his head around the fact that there were actually people who disliked you. It made him sick.

How to make an intro for your blog

Am so autistic abt ✨rainbow text ✨ bro idk whuz up w me,,,,, anyways how r da manifestation girlies tryna manifest a bf :3

First of all, your intro has to be the pinned post on your blog. Idk why but I see a LOT of blogs where the top post on their blog is smth else or the pinned post has NOTHING to do with info abt them. This causes trouble for people viewing your blog.

After you actually MAKE the post, you need 2 ‘establish an aesthetic’; Get dividers, banners, copy and paste emoji/symbols that really speak 2 you/are related 2 u in some way, whether it be 1 of your interests or smth else.

Typically, there’s text at the top of an intro post and it’s smth like “welcome to” and smth like “the [blank] [place]” although this is common for systems/collectives who put the name of their system/collective at the top of the post. If this is confusing, then, basically, imagine it like the top of my intro post saying “Welcome to The Data System” since our system name is The Data System. If you’re plural and wanna add that, it doesn’t have to be system/collective, it could b smth like circus, coven, etc. It’s your choice.

Below that is usually a divider, a gif/pic, then another divider to make it even more ✨aesthetic✨. You don’t have to put I’d say at least add some kind of pic/gif that u like/represents yoy or your blog.

You could add some special text, like a quote from a poet, character, etc. Or you could have a combo of emojis/symbols of stuff you like. It’s not necessary but it IS very eye catching!! You wanna get the viewer immediately interested if they weren’t already!!!!

After that, it’s some variation of a greeting then you saying your name/s, like

“Hello, I’m/I go by [name/s]!”

“Welcome to the [blank place], I go by [name/s]!”, etc.

You get the vibe; just a greeting of some sort then the name/s so viewers know what to call you during interactions.

Of course, you have to add your pronouns after that. You could also add the genders and sexualities you identify w before then the pronouns, like for me it’d be

Just list your genders then pronouns or just your pronouns. This is important because viewers need to kno how 2 refer to you properly. They should also know if you have any preferences when it comes to neo/pronouns & they should know your queer identity, which could affect your view on certain things.

Other things you identify with should come after, especially if you’re mentally ill/plural/identify as partially/fully non-human, this allows viewers to know more about you.

Then, you can add your interests to show viewers what you’d like 2 talk abt.

Then, of course, arguably, the most important part; the DNI. DNI stands for ‘Do Not Interact’ and is a list of things that show people that if they identify as this, that they shouldn’t interact AT ALL. You could ask specifics, such as telling people that if they’re pro, neu, or anti on something then they shouldn’t interact. You could also add a ‘BYF’; a ‘Be My Friend’ list which essentially lists things like if a viewer is a fan of [X] then they should interact. Also, above the DNI could be a ‘BYI’; a ‘Before You Interact’ list where you can say your stances on specific things.

Then you should add tags if you have any specific tags that’ll be reoccurring. You can look at my tags list for an example but basically, label it as ‘tags’ then show the tags that’ll pop up.

After that, you could either end the post or download a bunch of user boxes and put them there. User boxes are just boxes that say stuff like

“This [label/term] is [X]”

They could show genders & sexualities you identify with, things about you like disorders/medical issues, stances on things, etc.

actually sorry to be back at this again but i did have slightly more to say about tim and jason (see last post i reblogged)

that post does a lot of analysis that i enjoyed re: their read on what tim is dream hallucinating jason saying re: his own death and i had a couple thoughts i wanted 2 add to that. tldr they r saying that this is wayy more about tim than it is about jason and i super agree. i said something about jason's line saying he killed himself in my tim post from last week, but it was kinda reductive, where i said basically yeah that sure sounds like like a way bruce might describe it!! but i don't really think that's the whole story - my more genuine nuanced take on that is a little more like: it sounds an awful lot like what a scared kid might imagine that bruce saying about what happened to a robin who fucks up, i.e., not something bruce said about jason but something tim is afraid bruce would say (or think) about tim if tim went the same way as jason

being a martyr and a cautionary tale and a failure - his own or bruce's - are all stacked up on top of each other w/ jason, and tim just kind of. has all that. to deal with. the linked post gets way into how tim is reacting to his mom's death, which is so so interesting to me, bc tim is clearly soo scared of his grief disqualifying him from everything else he wants and feels like he needs to do. he's scared he won't be able to be robin bc bruce sees him compromised by his grief, so he's got to grieve Just Right, at the same time that he's basically trying to take on bruce's grief for jason. the kid is in the poster house for Grief Alters Your Life In Ways You Can't Control and he's still trying to grieve correctly. oof.

and back to tim's relationship to jason post-jason's death, it's so interesting in every direction, but specifically a big thing to me is that on some level jason is not real. like he is, obviously, but tim didn't meet him and he's never going to. he's not dick, a man tim can remember as a child and whose apartment he can break into as a slightly older child. he's not bruce, a guy whose basement tim can end up standing in if he tries hard enough. he doesn't! exist! you don't get to meet dead men! jason doesn't need to be pinned down as tim's hero or tim's fear or tim's resentment, bc the most important thing is that he's just a story. he's just an idea.

and then, of course, what do u do when the idea puts a knife to your throat. or puts on bright yellow tights to beat u up in front of your friends. things get really silly!! quoting my own tags on the first linked post just to have them here as well:

The fact that there are so many things that can go wrong with them... I don't even know which of the many possible scenarios would devastate me more, lol. I remember staring at the screen for like solid ten seconds after seeing "horror" right after the "mature themes and violence" disclaimer. WHAT DO YOU MEAN "HORROR" HUH!!! All I wanted was to try out some silly horny game because I like looking at pretty boys and so that I could translate it for my friend that's interested in the plot but doesn't know English as well as I do...

Ah well, I don't regret anything. Love the characters (Edmond, Olivine and Blade especially are so cute, I want to squeeze them like stress balls), the artstyle and the music. Can't wait to get traumatized once I get strong enough to advance in the plot, lol. Should probably not go looking through character tags for now, though... I usually don't mind spoilers at all, but you've piqued my curiosity.

Also, thank you for the heads-up about 10x draw rates! There's still a lot I need to learn about the game mechanics... And to decide whether I should give in to the temptation of buying that 2024 pack... My student ass can't afford to whale so I usually just stick to being fully f2p, but Eiden. Fucking. Eiden. This man has such a hold on me and I've had him for less than five days. What the fuck. I literally blush like a schoolgirl with a crush whenever he says something horny or teasing. I am so pathetic for him, damn it.

The short answer is that everything happens all the time. Events and story alike both delight and destroy. I cannot wait for you to get further into the plot and discover all the juicy secrets. And all the event revivals you have to play! Because events are actually meaningful in Nu:C! They give lore and character moments that may be referenced down the line! And, since they often only focus on a few characters at a time, they feel so well paced and meaningful. Fuck! Nu:C has some of the best events. Period.

I will say that, unless they plan to add more horror down the line, that warning may be referring to one event in particular (it's the only event I actively chose to skip altogether so I cannot say much, but I hear it involved cults and sacrifice).

And, yeah.... 10x will sometimes net you absolutely nothing. I have had 10x where I don't even get an SR card, let alone an SSR. In all my time playing (literally since launch day), I have also only ever pulled 2 SSR in one 10x once. The draw rates in Nu:C can be brutal. I advise picking your favorites and only drawing when they are in the banner if you want to stand a chance. Like, I have 110 contracts saved up for Eiden's new card because I restrain myself to only pull for Kuya, Rei, and Blade (and Eiden, Aster, and Morvay, but they are rarely in the banner so those three are special circumstances). If you try to pull every banner, especially f2p, you are going to have a hard time getting any SSR.

Some quick tips:

Make sure you are doing your intimacy rooms since maxing those out actually makes cards stronger.

Ensure you do potential for the cards you plan to use a lot as this gives bonus benefits and stats. An R or SR card can be stronger than SSR card depending on potential, abilities, and how many * that card has (example: My SR Aster is still really strong because he's 5*).

Not all cards are built the same, even when they are the same class. The wording of the abilities matters. Example: SSR Dante (base card) will give every ally a shield to help protect them whereas SR Morvay will attack and guard for his normal attack and he will pull aggro for his ultimate. Different cards. Different uses in battle.

The Great introductory post-o-matic 3001

Hello everyone, the introduction has begun. Please do not resist.

Huzzah! 'Tis I! He, who writes short stories, poems, and other literary knick-knacks below things that I like, predominantly Murder Drones OC art. While I do post and reblog non-fandom related things from time to time, my real bread and butter lies within the Murder Drones fandom, so expect only that if you're looking to follow me around.

I am a writer, as should be abundantly clear, and thus I have been writing on a little pet project of mine: A whole-ass novel based in the universe of Murder Drones. (You can tell I really like the asthetic) It's a completely original story removed wholly from the plot of the show, so expect no appearence of any characters that stem from it. I'm still writing it, though the prologue and chapters one and two are fully complete by now, and I plan to get an AO3 account to post them on sometime in the near future.

I've been writing this little magnum opus of mine for almost exactly a year now, and have thus far written it exclusively by hand. While the manuscript itself isn't finished yet either, I am currently underway on the second to last chapter, so while I'm doing that, I am also digitizing and re-writing the story almost from the ground up on my laptop.

Progress is steady, yet slow. I can manage about a month between the completion of a chapter, so i expect to be done, accounting for delays, near the end of the year.

Now, to get away from all the writing related jargon, do you like music? I like music. A lot, actually. To describe my music taste is a fool's errand, so I just like to say "I like what I like", but since that doesn't really help in the slightest, here are my favourite songs (or uhh... musical pieces, since some are purely or almost-so instrumental):

THIS EXACTLY, THANK YOU, literally the majority of sexism and what i would consider sexual harassment that i have faced came from WOMEN. usually women in my own family :') i do admit the person who CSA'd me was male, but he was also several years off from being A Man and is one of the only cases i've heard of who actually regretted, apologized, and tried to make it right. still not forgiven, but hey, props for accountability? i guess? and some of my friends who recieve it pretty equally, all of the grossest stuff they'd told me about? women. i have a friend who has R cup tits, they stand out no matter how you zip your hoodie, it's just how she's built. this woman on the bus would NOT stop making comments and jokes about it to her daughters, acted all innocent and "i didn't name names" when confronted the first time(by a stranger who knew it was wrong), then when confronted a SECOND time(by another stranger who knew it was wrong) she had the gall to say "well it's not rude when they're THAT big, you HAVE to say something!" i've also noticed - within my own experience and secondhand from friends, obviously this is not the universal observation - that women are just overall way nastier to people in the UK and way more likely to make gross comments about your body. while in the US it seems like you mostly get some bullying from fellow teenagers, while all the worst stuff happens behind closed doors where no outsider can say "hey that's fucked up of you". it sounds stupid to admit, but i literally have trauma and ptsd symptoms around shaving my armpits because of how my grandma and aunts treated it. no apologies, either, they just ~magically stopped mentioning it~ when i turned 18. thankfully the only physical harassment i ever got was my hair, but i tell you what, middleaged white ladies have done more damage to my psyche and body image than any magazine or catcaller could ever.

also your tags about pitbulls are literally so correct. honestly, it's a good comparison. Pitbulls have a reputation because the kinds of people who tend to GET pitbulls tend to get them because they want a strong, aggressive dog, which ends up making more aggressive pits, which adds to the stereotype. but dog aggression isn't really that breed-dependant. we do breed for personality, yes, but most of it comes from owner attitude and how the dog was trained. pitties are actually REALLY good family dogs, a well-loved well-trained pit can be super sweet and really good for kids because they're a little more able to rough-and-tumble. fun fact, a lot of animals that get breed discrimination (pit bulls, rottweilers, dobermans, black cats, basically any constrictor snake) are claimed by the black community. when an animal's VERY EXISTANCE is seen as a threat when it is literally just sitting there minding its own damn business? it's fucking relatable. that and if you dare have a rottweiler as your fursona you're gonna get called the N word no matter what your actual skin 🙄

personally, as a transfeminist, i wouldn't particularly feel inclined to die on the hill of "all perception of men as a threat is value-neutral, and comes from the privilege men experience within the patriarchy." i just simply don't think "it is men's jobs to ensure they do not make women feel uncomfortable or distressed with their presence" is the world's most unassailable feminist hill, especially as someone with black men in my family whose experiences with racism color my day to day life. but that's just my opinion and all.

A show people love but you find bad

Oh there's a lot of these, but the two that people might disagree with me most on is Never Let Me Go and Big Dragon. I see a lot of love for those shows and....they didn't do it for me. At all. Just...woof.

Will also add Lovely Writer onto this list. I really just couldn't buy into Gene and Nubsib and Nubsib was a really immature/annoying character. Also, all those sound effects??? Truly grates the nerves.

A show people find bad but you will defend

I'm gonna go with a few of the other answers I saw and say Secret Crush on You and My Only 12% listen: yes, SCOY is not everyone's cup of tea and yes, MY12 has a terrible plot twist ending but, the acting is great, the chemistry is great, the characters are great. I adore them, so I can forgive a few flaws. I mean, look at SantaEarth in all their adorable glory:

A show that is just objectively bad but you enjoyed it

I mean....I don't know that it's objectively bad but I've read a lot of criticism on the filming of Ghost Host, Ghost House, which is fair. It's not as quality as other BLs in terms of filming but man, that show got me in my feels.

A bad show that you kept watching because you were intrigued/fascinated

Tonhon Chonlatee, mostly because I adored Khao in it and MikeToptap's side couple. But that show was an absolute dumpster fire. I just wanna know how AiNhai dated for so long under the same roof as Tonhon without him finding out??? Truly the biggest plot mystery. Then again, Tonhon is also the biggest himbo in all the land.

I would also say Lovely Writer. I just couldn't get into it and found it really lackluster but wanted to see how it ended.

I actually never finished it and still have to - but 100% Love in the Air. There's really....nothing but sex in it so. Yeah.

Okay, honestly I don't even find it to be a bad show, but some people DO, but I would say Love Mechanics b/c i adore Vee as the messiest bi in all the land (and I adore Mark too so really the main couple is why I watched). But there should be a counter of how many times Vee makes this face because it's a lot and it's so cute:

A bad show that you would still recommend

Again probably Love Mechanics b/c I enjoyed it - but WOOF that friend group is hard to fucking watch. Beware. Not many of them are actually likeable but VeeMark is truly *chefs kiss* amazing to watch. The whole messy cheating web of love interests is also very fun (not for them, but for us).

The character that ruined a show the most

I'll do you one better and choose two characters that are also a couple: ZonSaifah in Why R U? Let's be honest, it should've been the FighterTutor show.

Most awful character that you hated

I cannot, in good conscience, forgive Thua for outing Akk and Aye in The Eclipse. Any character who has ever publicly outed someone is on my shit list. But Thua - man, fuck you. I'm of the opinion they should have punched him and Kan should have left him.

Most awful character that you loved

Out of FINISHED shows (bc we know my answer would me alllll the mofos in Only Friends otherwise), I gotta go with Vegas (KinnPorsche). My man is a sadist. But he got that Trauma that makes his character so scrumptious.

A character that wasn't awful but that you just don't like

Nubsib from The Lovely Writer. He's not awful but he really does give me the fucking heebie jeebies.

A hero that should have been a villain

I agree that Palm from NLMG would have been a great villain. Or even Nueng. He had the chance to go so dark during his fight with his uncle but no, he had to take the stupid moral high ground. Pfft.

Same show as above - but Xue Yang from The Untamed/CQL. I love a murder boy just as much as anyone else, but pls don't romanticize him. It's not cute.

The show that disappointed you the most

Haha yikes gotta go with Enchante again. Really had high hopes for it and was watching it during its run and got so excited each week for it - but the story line got too dragged out and Akk ended up being a manipulative POS so, it was a huge let down.

The Worst Show of Them All Because

Based on all the ratings I've given in my excel sheet, the lowest rating I have (that I've finished) is for Enchante. Sorry ya'll. I just cannot deal with that ending.

for anyone wondering, i saw the les mis us tour last night in DC and it. was. CRAZY. i’ve seen the tour a few times in my life and i noticed some new things so here we go:

~~ spoilers ~~

- petit gervais was actually shown in the prologue when JVJ gets out of jail, he has some line like “but monsieur!” before being shooed away

- batambois actually hits fantine with his cane, knocks her down, and kicks her multiple times before she reaches up and scratches his face (i feel like i usually see him grab her arm or something instead of actually hitting her?)

- the other lovely ladies whores are all freaking out and trying to protect fantine from batambois and the pimp men people are actively holding them back and letting him hit her

- JVJ and javert have the gayest little moment of holding a handshake before “forgive me sir i would not dare” for a solid 30 seconds

- fantine shoots up and hugs JVJ in the line before she dies and stays there until he lays her dead body back down

- mme. thenardier was just so wonderful. i loved her

- gavroche has this entire moment with javert after the robbery, yelling “yeah! clear the streets! that means you too!” (said to a cop), and when the only two people left on stage are him and javert, he completely squares up to him and then salutes and it’s a really sweet moment. it also makes little people so much more impactful because they actually recognize each other then

- enjolras has a visceral reaction to eponine and marius speaking and he hasn’t even met cosette yet. enj turns to speak to marius and sees him talking to ep and throws his hands up in the air like, SO frustrated because MARIUS THE REVOLUTION IS COMING.

- red and black is BEAUTIFUL. the entire ensemble respects enjolras so much and it’s very obvious. “marius, you’re late” is not sung and so deadpan and so enjolras.

- R gives gav his bottle after javert’s arrival and it’s really funny

- grantaire does not take his eyes off of enjolras until drink with me. at all.

-when eponine dies, gavroche turns suddenly and sees her dying and grantaire SHOOTS up and grabs him and sits in the corner with him. it’s beautiful

- R does not touch a gun at all for the entire show. whenever anyone starts shooting, he hides behind the barricade or he grabs javert in custody but he never fights at all

- when gav dies, R throws a goddamn fit and does not leave his body until enjolras is about to be shot.

- when enj dies, he climbs up the barricade and is backlit and R is sitting at the bottom of the barricade reaching upwards, and when enj is shot, he falls backwards off of the barricade and out of sight. when this happens, R climbs the barricade with no gun, just enough so his head is exposed, and gets shot and slides down the barricade. it’s very “no one loves the light like a blind man”

- when javert is picking through the bodies looking for JVJ, another officer is wheeling a cart for dead bodies, and it ONLY has enjolras in it, hanging upside down just like aaronjolras in the window. javert heaves gav’s body on top of his and wheels them both off. (i heard multiple audible gasps during this, assumedly from the other enjolras girlies like myself)

- enj and R are beside each other for empty chairs until they cross and they’re directly facing each other instead

-during the wedding song, the line “this one’s a queer, but what can you do” is changed to “this one’s a queer, i might try it too” before thenardier waltzes with a male ensemble member for like 4 bars before finishing the song

- there is a lot of rich people laughing as a bit and thenardier cues to the conductor and counts them off like 3 separate times

- the finale is beautiful as always, JVJ and the dead bishop hug before everyone just lines up in formation (R and enj are both holding one of gav’s hands on either side)

- in conclusion: i cried

Extended metoidplasty is rn the closest we can get to a fully functional natal penis, but to my knowledge there are 2 whole surgeons who perform this procedure in the US - and possibly in the world as it isn't approved by the greater medical community. If you add STP ability, you can literally count the number of people who recieved it so far on one hand. really rampant degendering/dehumanising that's only more obvious when coupled with racism. I'm asian, and besides the tendency for people to assume asian = white-adjacent (not for me, I'm dark skinned, don't come from a western culture, speak distinctly with an asian mannerism), even cis asian men are consistently degendered and emasculated, so I've fully made peace that no matter how well I could pass, I'll never actually pass in the world because of my ethnicity. I'm proud of my culture so it doesn't bother me but, like yeah it still sucks terribly
