Tumblr just gave me a notification that an old RP partner had reblogged a thread from 2018. It turned out to be a glitch but I feel as if I've seen a ghost.

Something I miss from the start of the pandemic was being able to watch movie theater releases from home.
I know why they’ve gone back to in theater only releases, but as someone with multiple disabilities and a compromised immune system that makes movie-going hard, it was the first time in years I got to enjoy new releases as they came out.
I didn’t even particularly mind that it was costing me $20 to rent it for a single viewing. To me it was just another disabled tax, but one I was actually happy to pay for the price of finally feeling included in the experience of enjoying new media. (Not to mention actually going to the movie theater costs something closer to $40 these days.)
Factor in that I got to control my environment (not too dark or loud to avoid migraines. No nerve compression from sitting in chairs not designed for my body. Access to food I could eat and bathroom breaks as needed without missing anything.) the sheer joy alone of being able to talk to my friends about movies as they came out was really something I hadn’t realized I was missing until I had it back.
Normally by the time I get to see new media it’s several months later and everyone else has moved on.
It’s alienating.
The whole experience of being disabled alienates you from most of society, but it always tends to be the big things you think about and not the little. And that was one of the little things I missed.
And now there’s a new Superman movie coming out next year that I’m actually so, so excited to see. But barring a miracle of Biblical proportions, I know I’m not going to be able to hobble my butt into the cinema without risking my health.
So, I’ll be watching it months later when the hype has already died down. And my enthusiasm for it won’t be counted in box office figures despite being the type of person who would go see a movie multiple times in the cinema if I enjoyed it.
I dunno, man. It just sucks. I wish they had like, memberships or something you could pay to watch things at home.
And before anyone is like “just pirate it” — that’s not the point of the post. The point is people are excluded from things in ways you don’t even think about and the pandemic made it really clear that there were always ways to accommodate people like me.
People just don’t want to.

MORE SEVIKA X SIREN I BEG
I hear your call [P2] ⋅˚₊‧ ଳ
HALF OF MY INBOX IS SIREN READER !! dw, i got you guys. ( also i got a lot of love in my inbox. !! thank you so much for the support. youre so sweet , im looking at 🍃 anon ily ) summary: sevika saves your scales.
masterlist , part 1 2.1k words part 3

The night after you met Sevika, you followed her ship, even throughout the darkness. The celebratory crew could be heard on the deck, along with the clanking of glasses and music.
Although this wasn't what you were interested in, you were interested in a certain captain. You assumed she didn't bother with the celebration and got bored swimming alongside the ship.
Eventually, it had come to a stop in the late night, now sitting in the dock of a well-populated island. You eyed the people that stepped off, and your gaze landed on Sevika.
She was hard to miss, her large stature and intricate outfit stood out amongst the crew, ultimately declaring herself captain. There was a sort of swagger in her walk, perhaps from booze or maybe exaustion.
Whatever the case, you were interested.
You couldn't get too close to land, deciding to lurk around the harbor instead. You ducked under the water upon hearing any movement or voices. Being this close to population was no place for a siren, especially such as yourself.
Any fisherman or pirate alike would take take you up and pawn you for a pretty price. So you heeded in your movements. Luckily, you were a skilled enough swimmer that you made little to no sound whilst in the water, barely leaving behind a ripple.
The sun was just now rising, and you assumed Sevika would be looking for a place to stay the night. There was no way you could wait around that long for her to come back. But that doesn't mean you didn't want to.
To your delight, a group of men swarmed to talk on a dock near you, and their conversation was full of exactly what you wanted to hear.
Sevika.
They were pirates looking for a crew, and from the looks of them, quite experienced pirates.
"She's headed to Shank's motel. Shall we give her a visit?"
"This late at night, man. You've got to be spewin' some blige. She'd flog you just at sight."
"Aye. Migh' as well wait till' morn' "
You grew closer to their spot, itching to hear more. Your head nearly bumped against the old wood due to your closeness.
Suddenly, a hand was in your hair, but unlike Sevika's, it was clammy and gross.
You screeched at the intrusion, being pulled out of the water.
A fourth man.
How could you let your guard down so easily?
"Now, what's a stupid lass like you doin' so far out at bay."
You crained your head up to be met with a severely shredded bald man. You clawed at the hand on your scalp and thrashed. The sting threatened to bring tears to your eyes, and you opened your mouth for a song.
The knowing man slammed your face down onto the wood, stopping you in your tracks.
"Fuck. This one be a siren, but the harder the catch, the more the prize is what I say."
Another voice came from your left.
"Knock 'er out, and I'll grab a net."
A blunt thwack was heard before your vision went dark.
..
Sevika had tied her boat to a post before leaving her crew to find a place to eat, preferably not a bar where she knew the rest of her men were headed. Having enough to drink, she sat at a stand selling calaloo and threw a few dabloons on the counter silently, waiting for her meal.
Her mind wasn't on anything except for you. The ruler of the Seven Seas was enamored with a mer-person.
How fitting.
She thought about the way your eyes sparkled when she told you stories, looking at her like no other. How your cold hands were so gentle when you touched her. Your soft lips against hers.
I mean, how much deeper could she fall.
Having been so engrossed in thought, she barely noticed the whispers around her. Barely. She, of course, was the talk of the town.
She intimidated people just by taking a seat next to them, so casual yet making everyone at the stand turn to glance at her. It wasn't often that Sevika bothered with mundane tasks such as eating anywhere but a bar, and nobody really saw her face anywhere except for wanted posters.
Although it was a picaroon town, and there was no way anyone there would bother to turn her in or snitch, she still pushed her plate away and got up to fend off the prying eyes. (Picaroon means pirate)
Her buckled boots thudded against the dirt road, now on the way to the nearest inn. She was almost desperate for a nights sleep without rocking on the mad waters.
Upon entering, a large man stomped past her, eager to get somewhere, she was just about to grab him and slam him into the nearest counter before her attention was interrupted.
"Them chowder-headed fools caught themselves a real jem, aye?"
"Heard theys' puttin' 'er up for auction"
That was never a pretty thing to hear. It either meant low-life pirates snagged themselves an expensive treasure, or worse, a living treasure. But it wasn't rare that a fisher or pirate just so happened to find a large, human-like fish in their net and put her on the market, so Sevika paid it no mind.
She did linger on the fact that it might be the one person on her mind at the moment but quickly shook away those thoughts. You were smart, quick. Theres no way any man would have you that easily.
When she approached the counter for a key, the shop-keep laughed, "What? You want a room? I think you ought to pay the stands a visit, its the first auction in a week."
She scoffed and rolled her eyes at his words, her head dipping into her previous thoughts again.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to make sure.
So she drug her tired and heavy legs right back across town for the sliver of a chance that it might be you.
..
You awoke with a harsh throbbing in your head, feeling cold and dried up. Through blurry vision, you could make out the steel bars, closing you in. And a loud voice,
"Another bid for 300 dabloons !"
Fuck. It's what you've been dreading all your life. You got caught due to your lack of awareness and clumsiness. Inwardly cursing at yourself, you grabbed at the bars and shook violently.
"Look, she's awake. How do we feel about upping the price now that we can see her pretty eyes."
The man stuck his fingers in your enclosure and tilted your chin up. At that moment, you became aware of the metallic muzzle on your face, keeping your jaw in place. You glared up at him, knowing you'd bite him if you could.
He pulled away when you jerked your head forward, as if making the motion to bite him. He laughed loudly, and another bid came from the crowd.
"500!"
The men yelled and whooped at that. You thunked your head against the bars, the loudness ringing in your ears. You can't believe you got yourself in this mess for a pirate.
It was just hollering and laughing for a while before the man beside you spoke,
"500, Aye? Going once.. going twice.."
"A thousand."
A heavy female voice stood out amongst the rest, sounding angry and tired. Your eyes darted around, looking for the source of the voice, but another shrill voice spoke up.
"1000? Is this woman kidding? 1500."
The men's laughs roared in again, smacking the mans back and slinging booze. A tall figure stepped out of the shadow, cigarillo in hand, and spoke, "Double it."
All went quiet as they eyed Sevika, her arm crossed over her chest as she brought a mechanical hand to her lips to take a drag. She blew the smoke from the side of her mouth, making a taller male cough.
Your eyes widened, and fingers gripped the bars steadier. When you made eyecontact, you could have sworn her eyes went soft for a moment before she looked to your captor.
"Well.. any final bids..?"
He spoke seemingly frightened and pleased with himself all in one moment.
Nobody spoke against Sevika, as a captian never had a bounty over their head for a reason. And her bounty was hefty.
There were no protests as she pushed her way through the crowd, seemingly more violent than usual. She put her cigar out on someone's forehead, the small tiss, standing out against silence.
Her boots clunked as she ascended the stairs and plopped three brown bags atop your cage. You looked up at her, but she wasn't looking back. Her metal hand was grabbing the key from the mans hand and pushing him backward in one motion.
He stumbled, but you looked away to eye Sevikas human hand swiftly unlocking the cage. She held her hand out to you, dark hair shadowed her eyes, and hid her expression from you.
She was who you were here for.
You hesitantly grabbed her calloused hand, and immediately, she lifted you into her arms. Now, looking into the crowd, her menacing expression was highlighted by the dim torches that surround the stands. Her cape was draped over your tail and bare torso, shielding you from the cold, and more importantly the people.
As she was stepping down the stairs, she saw your muzzled mouth, and her expression got a tinge darker. No words needed to be spoken as she balanced you with her human arm and knee, tearing the straps of the muzzle off with a sharp finger.
It was almost instinct to hum a siren song, but before your vocal chords could start, you saw her expression and buried your face in her sturdy torso. It was the look of warning, a warning that you obeyed.
Pirates gawked at the sight of her carrying you past the crowd of people. Nobody dared to reach out and touch you. Some people didn't even dare to look at you. You kept your gaze on Sevika's clenched jaw and torn expression. The angles of her face were more prominent at this angle, you would blush at the sight but your nervousness didn't allow it.
Her grip on your tail was firm, yet gentle, human arm cradling your torso without complaining about the coldness. You weren't one to be drawn to the warmth of a human, but found yourself pressed closer against her body. You now shut your eyes to rid of the feeling of stares and judgement.
As she carried you down the dirt road back to the inn, she spoke in a frustrated tone, "You are the stupidest fish ive ever met."
"And you're the sappiest pirate ive ever met."
..
When Sevika stepped into the inn with you in her arms the keep gawked at you. You were cradled like a baby, weightless in her hold. She kept a stern gaze as he passed her the keys with a room number attached "56".
The people that sat in the inn waiting room averted their eyes, shrinking under Sevika's cold grey eyes. Her eyebrows were furrowed, making you want to reach up and rub the wrinkle between them.
She walked up old rickety stairs, almost bending under your combined weight and turned left down the hall to the room. It was surprisingly quiet, and you were able to hear the woman's ragged breaths. Sevika was obviously worn out and tired from her day, and still came to your rescue.
How heroic.
She effortlessly shifted you to one arm, making sure your head was steady against her shoulder and creaked open the wooden door. Your tail barely brushed against the ground, her height compensating for the length.
"I need—," you spoke, before she cut you off with a grunt.
"Water. I know."
Opening the door to the bathroom, she sighed at the size. It was almost too small to fit her large frame and your long tail.
Dropping you into the tub gently, she turned the knob for cold water. "Want me to sprinkle in salt?"
You genuinely couldn't tell if she was joking, "No, no it's okay," You laughed, humming at the feeling of water on your tail.
"Why did you let yourself get caught," Sevika said, more as a statement than a question.
"I wanted to find you.. and I succeeded.. mission accomplished?"
She shook her head and bent down to accommodate for the space between you. She put a warm hand to your cheek, eyes soft and almost concerned, "Don't go looking for me like that again, danger follows me closely."
You giggled at her seriousness, despite being roughed around and almost being sold as fish food (or worse) you felt somewhat at ease. The woman at your side brought you a strange feeling of comfort, comfort that the sea never brought you.
"I guess ill just have to follow you closer."

Ghost Driver 6
Masterpost
His body was shaking. Jason came back to himself in fits and starts, mind suffering through the sludge of a concussion and heavy duty pain medication. His ears had finally stopped ringing after the explosion. He was aware enough to know that he had been in and out of it for what must have been hours.
He checked in with himself: he hurt. His body hurt, like he had hit a wall at high speed because of the uh, the explosion. His eye ached obnoxiously, and he had a crick in his neck. Jason rolled it cautiously. “This is not my beautiful sofa,” he said. Where was he? He should be sleeping off his injuries in a shitty cold apartment in downtown Gotham. The world rumbled around him like he was on top of an old water heater, or traveling at high speed.
“Definitely not,” said Dickie.
Oh. It was another dream. He closed his eyes. There was no scenario in which Batman took him back to the cave that didn’t involve waking up on a bed in a room with no shoelaces. He was scrunched into the front seat of a vehicle– that was the source of the shaking. A motor. He peeled open one eye to reconfirm that the world outside was wavy and green.
“This is different.” He didn’t feel much of anything when he looked at it. It was kinda dumb. He deserved a more substantial hallucinatory sequence after the new worst day of his life “Hey, was I really fuckin annoying when I was little? Is that why you didn’t like me? Because I dreamed I was on a road trip with little me and I gotta say, he didn’t deserve to have his head beat in with a crowbar, but he was truly obnoxious.” He grimaced. So sincere. Christ. He was an idiot and he always had been. Of course Bruce would never choose his son over his morals.
“Not a dream,” said a new voice. “Sorry.” They coughed.
Wait. Jason struggled to put it together. He did know that voice, but the guy it came out of was all wrong. “You look like a space mermaid,” he told Danny Fenton disapprovingly. “I am not a pirate. What are you doing? There’s no coherency in this dream.” He waved a hand around and immediately regretted it. “Go back to your other face.”
“Uh.” Danny sounded nervous. “This is just what I look like, all the time.” He gave a very bad fake laugh.
That was suspicious. Jason considered this. Fuck, his head was pounding. He sat up and fought past nausea to assess what was going on around him better.
Dick was staring at him inside the cockpit of an unidentified vehicle. He was aiming for a cheerfully detached mien, but Jason saw right through it. Dick was stressed out of his big dumb pumpkin head. Next to him was a Robin.
Jason narrowed his eyes. That wasn’t a ghost or vision. That was the new kid, upgraded uniform and all. “You lack panache,” he told Tim Drake disdainfully. He skimmed over the techno mermaid version of the incredibly hot getaway driver he had promised to protect from Batman and had the dim suspicion that he had fucked that up. He nodded at the vampire who was driving their spaceship through green air. “Hey, man.”
“...Hello,” said the vampire.
“Ignore him,” Danny hastily said. He gave Jason a queasy smile and twisted his fingers together. “You’re up up now? Sorry, you missed kiiiind of a lot. When you didn’t come back I decided to figure out what happened to you and I did kidnap a guy, so we have to fix that with paperwork.” He paused. “Also I did kidnap Robin a little bit. But that was an honest mistake! I thought he was dead.”
Jason watched this babbling, perplexed but charmed. “Who else did you kidnap?” His voice was a little choked up. He had kidnapped Robin? Batman must be losing his mind. He fought down a hysterical giggle. Dickie was here too, hell. The Bat-aneurism would be blinding.
The vampire heaved a massively put-upon sigh. “Some ruffian styling himself as a Joker,” he drawled. He was so powerfully unimpressed that his words took a moment to penetrate Jason’s brain.
He froze.
“So dear Phantom here gifted him to Skulker.” He pronounced ‘Skulker’ like the name might leave mud in his mouth if he wasn’t careful with it. “Skulker is disinterested in giving up his toy, so we are now in a very exciting chase.” The vampire sneered.
Jason hauled himself upwards with difficulty. His body felt so heavy. Every muscle hurt. “We are chasing him?”
“No, he is chasing us.” Dick pointed a thumb towards the back. “We’re, uh.” His whole face twitched. “We’re towing the Joker behind us. Skulker keeps trying to harpoon him to get him back.”
The ship jerked violently. Jason looked over to the vampire pilot, who was serenely unaffected by the violent subject matter.
He took a moment to experience childlike wonder. What had Danny done while he was unconscious? How had he pulled this off? Was it an elaborate proposal? If so, he didn’t need to try that hard, goddamn. Jason had an empty ring finger.
Jason considered all of this and tried to be cool about it. “What’s the end goal?”
Dickie leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees and make deadpan eye contact. “We are going to take the Joker to a private prison in the Infinite Realms run by a cowboy ghost named Walker, and I am going to oversee transfer paperwork to give to Inspector Gordon.” He said it all like it made some sense. “Can’t have the Joker disappear without a record.”
“...Right,” Jason said, remembering that bit of information. He inserted as much disdain as possible into his voice for the sheer fun of it. “You’re a fucking cop.”
Dickie flinched.
“That’s right,” Danny said, pleased and impressed. “How did you know that? I found him at the police station and he said he would help out. This is my estranged godfather vampire, Vlad.” He gestured at the driver. “And I’m Phantom,” he said, despite being obviously Danny Fenton in a superhero transformation.
“...I’m Jason, but you can call me honey,” he said.
Dick choked on air.
Phantom flushed a very pleasing teal.
Jason flung an arm over Danny’s shoulder and reeled him in. He might have also leaned on him a bit, but that was the blood loss talking. He wasn’t swooning. “Tell me about this prison and how you feel about gold versus silver.”
Drake made a gagging sound.
“No, shh,” Dickie said quietly. “I want to see where this is going.”

Man, there’s all these little beats in OFMD S2 1-3 where people keep EXPECTING Stede to be upset or horrified about Ed’s actions and then he’s just. Not. In a way that reminded me of how a lot of fanon kept softening Stede into someone who doesn’t swear and is horrified at Ed for setting those ships on fire when imo to my eyes he was horrified for Ed because Ed was still so clearly distressed about it.
- Zheng Yi Sao asks Stede how he’s doing now that he knows Ed did horrible things to his crew and there’s this beat and Stede just pivots to, oh yeah, sometimes Ed is troubled. Like it didn’t occur to him to be upset on the crew’s behalf he’s worried about Ed.
- Izzy keeps trying to spare Stede’s feelings and cover up Ed’s spiral, but Stede clocked what was going on with Ed immediately and wasn’t the least bit intimidated or bothered. The knives brought the room together. Of course Ed’s trying to burn the world down or die trying. Duh. And I genuinely don’t think the STUFF in the Revenge mattered even a fraction to Stede as much as the signs of Ed’s breakdown broke his heart. It’s just STUFF, who cares.
- Lucius had to SPECIFICALLY call out Stede for not being surprised or bothered by what happened to him. What Ed did. Stede has to almost consciously remind himself to express polite concern. He just doesn’t actually care, instinctively or automatically, about what happened to Lucius. Part of it is he blames himself more than Ed. Part of it is he just doesn’t care, Ed is the priority.
They’re little blink and you’ll miss it pauses in some cases. Micro-expressions. The absence of a reaction. But honestly, I will scream it to the end of time, Stede is not some nonviolent creampuff scared or upset by Ed’s evil ways. He wants to join Ed in the atrocities. The man ran away to become a pirate. He asked if Lucius was taking notes during a murderous raid.
Stede’s at least a little on some kind of whackadoodle pirate comedy neurodivergence spectrum to the point where he actually really actually struggles to empathize with people, even people he cares about!, if their feelings conflict with his hyperfixation (piracy) and the love of his life (Ed Teach). He’s always, ALWAYS going to pick Ed over Lucius or Izzy or his crew or even his own feelings, if the option is there. He will literally throw himself overboard to get to Ed’s side. No pause. No consideration of anyone else or even his own safety.
Stede sometimes seems to have to consciously remind himself things like, oh yeah, the crew, I need to see to them. Not because he’s heartless or doesn’t care, but because it takes a bit of conscious effort for him to see beyond the laser-focused spotlight of what and who he does care most about, he has to remind himself of social niceties and other people’s feelings (just see him running away in the first place!) when he gets an idea in his head. It’s as if he had to train himself to consciously care about some things other people care about and as a neurodivergent person myself, that felt very familiar in a comedically writ large sort of way. I’d even argue that’s where all his aristocratic social niceties come from. They were his guidebook for how to do things “right” in a world that otherwise made no sense to him outside his hyperfixations. He practiced being a person through the aristocratic training because it was all so foreign to him from the start, including caring, actually caring, about the needs of others. Not because he’s consciously evil or consciously a jerk. The instinct just isn’t there unless he practices at it until it becomes reflex to ask how others are doing, because on his own his brain just doesn’t really notice or care.
I just… hope the fandom notes and has as much FUN as I do noticing all the little moments where even people inside the story of OFMD expect Stede to act in a normal way and instead he remains unhinged, laser-focused on Ed.
Stede’s not just an Ed apologist, he truly doesn’t blame Ed for any of it. He blames only himself. He doesn’t always voice this but he really really only cares about anyone else including the crew as a DISTANT second and he has to consciously REMIND himself to do so. He is able to rally to take action, to care about their physical needs like safety during the rescue, but he still struggles, deeply struggles, to remember to show empathy in a non-performative way for anyone except his special person, Ed.
Stede’s not a creampuff, not a nice guy, not some emotionally or morally perfect angel. He has to consciously practice caring about literally anything else but what he wants to do and his special person. And to me that’s a thousand times more interesting than shoving him in a box labeled “the blond, pacifist do-gooder good guy” in their relationship.
#this rant requires gifs I don’t have but trust me those odd little beats are there#bless Rhys Darby for making Stede so very neurodivergent coded because it SHOWS#ofmd#ofmd spoilers#our flag means death#ofmd s2 spoilers#ofmd meta#sometimes fandom flanderization makes characters so DULL compared to canon

trafalgar law x gf!reader
↳ requested, sfw, fluff!
wc: 2.2k, lowercase intended!
after exploring a new island law finds himself having to care for you due to your weak immune system
⇣ credits to the original artist

the island the submarine docked at had a bustling town that was ready to be explored by the heart pirates. you followed your crew mates as they venture through the different stalls and try exotic foods. the overflowing of the townspeople caused you to lose track of your crewmate. you didn’t worry much, and decided to use this opportunity to do some solo exploration.
you talked with some vendors, played with some kids, fed the stray cats, and so much more. at the end of the day you met up with your once lost crew mates at the docked submarine. you all chatted and exchanged experiences regarding the now explored town. you found yourself engulfed in all the fun stories being told, and you hadn’t realized you had started coughing.
the cough wasn’t horrible. it was light enough to be brushed off without a second thought. the only person which the cough raised concerned for was your captain, and beloved significant other. he recognized the patterns of what he called your ‘weak immune system’. it would always play out the same; you go exploring a new area, you meet people and try new things, you seem fine during the moment, but then come down with some of the worst ailment law has seen.
just as he predicted you spent your night in a mess. your cough would become so aggressive it would jolt you both out of your sleep realms. your sneezes would fill the bed with used tissues. an extra bin was readily placed on the floor next to the bed in the situation where you might’ve a bad case of food poisoning and had to throw up. law always prepares supplies the nights he expects you to need them.
this wasn’t the first time your weakened immune system caused law to have to play personal doctor. these strange occurrences leave law to work overtime to be able to cater to your road towards a healthier reality for you. it was natural for him, and be wouldn’t want any other person to be the one to care for you. he made sure he was the only person in attendance to help during these times.
he rubbed your back as you blew into a tissue, “bad night huh? you need to drink some water y/n-ya.”
you blew one last time before responding in a slight raspy voice, “i cant drink anything. my throat hurts too much…”
you attempted to throw the used tissue into the trash, but ultimately missing causing you to sigh in frustration. law sits up in bed and rubs the sleepiness out his eyes. he uses his devil fruit abilities to move the tissues into the trashcan.
he got up to retrieve his kikoku in order to assess your symptoms correctly. he made his way back as he ordered you to lay down and get comfortable. he called out ‘scan’ as he hovered the kikoku back and fourth over your body. once he’s finished he put it away, “it isn’t horrible. it’s just some respiratory virus. were you near anything that could have caused it?”
“i don’t know.”
law didn’t expect you to know the exact cause for your ailment, “it’ll be okay. nonetheless it will take a week or so for you to feel better. maybe this might finally strengthen your immune sy-“
you interrupted the tattooed man as you started to cough up a storm again. law mentally accepted the fact that he would be quite busy for the next week.
throughout the week your symptoms seem to worsen. they would especially peak during the night. law could easily recognize the moments when you were unnaturally out of breath, had a runny nose, slightly puffy eyes, and especially when you’d sleep for hours on end daily. he pitied you because of how susceptible you were to getting sick. when the day for chores came around you protested against the man to let you out of bed, “i need to get my chores done! they’re my responsibility law.”
“i’ll have penguin and shachi complete them.”
you continue to object, “i’m not gonna drag other people into my messes. i’m gonna do them myself.” you tried your best to get out of bed, but in the end your struggles were meaningless. law sat right next to your laying position in bed, and gently rested an arm on your stomach to keep you down.
“you can’t finish your chores if you can barely get up yourself baby. i know you want to help, but as your doctor i need you to focus on getting better first.”
you huffed and shook your head to refuse.
law gave you a look which made you stop your antics. it was an earnest look which alerted you of his serious character, “you need to recover, not do irrelevant chores. you don’t listen to what i say.”
law was tempted to use his authority to command you to listen. the only thing stopping him was that he didn’t want to create a power imbalance between you both. he wanted to show you that he really did care for you instead of just forcing you to listen to what he has to say.
he leans down to your laying position and kissed your hair hoping it will lower your walls, “just let me take care of you y/n-ya”
“but i don’t wanna distract you from your work.”
he shook his head, “it’s not a distraction if it means i get to help you feel better.” he thought of a way to finally convince you, “don’t you always say i work too hard? well i’m taking a break to be with you while you’re sick.”
his logic was too good for you to fight against this time. as you tried your best to find a way to fight back law’s reasoning until a knocking came from the door. you both avert your attention to the door opening.
penguin and bepo poke their heads in. bepo speaks up, “captain! y/n! we were looking all over for you.”
penguin nods, “we’re planning ikakku’s surprise birthday party that’s tonight! you guys have to to make sure you’re there.”
law shook his head and spoke in a protective voice, “y/n is sick. she isn’t leaving from here. the submarine is too cold for her.”
both penguin and bepo whine to the captains response. you pout as you sit up. you gave look a law that could break his heart. it was the saddest puppy eyes he had ever seen you pull.
“but i wanna go to the birthday party…”
law had to stay firm in his decision, “i know you want to go, but we have to focus on you getting better.”
you tried to compromise knowing it would be the only thing to get the logical man to budge, “i’ll bundle up! and i wont have anything that could make me feel more sick! please please please law!”
your pleads were followed by penguin and bepo’s pleads as well. your begs fill the room until the tattooed man’s patience wears thin and he agrees, “you can only go if you’re with me all times. i need to make sure you don’t do something dumb to worsen your symptoms.”
as opposed to the idea as he might’ve seemed law wasn’t that against it. he wanted to make the environment you’re in as comfortable as it could be. that was a difficult task to do on his own since hospitality wasn’t exactly his strength. he figured being with the crew could lift your spirits.
you found the party fun even though your symptoms held you back from doing a lot of things. you couldn’t dance or sing with the members. you had to stay seated on law’s lap as everyone enjoyed themselves. the agreement you two made let law run wild on layering you up. when you questioned why you had to wear 4 pairs of socks he simply stated that he was not taking any chances of the symptoms intensifying. nonetheless you were grateful he cared enough, and agreed to let you have fun during this frustrating time.
your coughing continued their violent attacks. law was next to you during every battle you had against your symptoms. eventually you decided to try to move away from him in fear of infecting him as well.
he immediately pulled you back to him and holds you tight, “what are you doing? we had an agreement y/n-ya. you said you’d be with me the whole time.”
guilt was written all over your face, “i know but..”
“but what? what’s wrong? is something bothering you my love?”
you exhaled, “i just don’t wan’t you to get sick..”
law had to push away a chuckle that threatened to escape him, “not everyone gets sick as easily as you do.”
“hey! that was so backhanded law!” you felt your cheeks redden as the man next to you lets out a murmured laugh.
you crossed your arms and face away from him pretending to be mad, “you’re so rude law. is this how you treat your sick girlfriend??”
you hadn’t noticed a hat being placed on your head. you looked back at law slightly confused just to see law’s ruffled hair without his hat on. you felt the soft plush cover your head, and the brim of the cap hovering over your eyes. the hat looked oversized on you, so law adjusted it to help you see better, “your ears were red. we forgot to cover them up with the rest of you.”
law examined you now fully covered from head to toe (quiet literally). he was proud to see you like this. proud that he was the reason why you were being cared for. he was glad to be the one there for you when you needed it the most. he wouldn’t know what he would do with himself if he couldn’t care for you. it was moments like these he was thankful he committed himself to the research of medicine, and could be the one to care for his loved ones when they need it most.
he pressed a gentle kiss to your still reddened cheek, “hopefully you’ll feel a lot better by tomorrow my sick rabbit”
you giggle at his sudden affection, “sick rabbit? whats that supposed to mean?”
“your nose is red like one. it’s from all that wiping with those tissues.”
you giggled again and rested your body against your boyfriend thankful for the fact that he’s always caring for you.
at that moment you hear the members decide they birthday cake is about to be cut. everyone gathers around ikakku as she cuts the cake with ease. plates of cake were soon being passed around to celebrate. bepo makes his way over to you and law sitting out the way. he held two plates of cake, “i got you guys cake! it’s ice cream cake. we got it from the last island.”
you reach your hand out to take it until law speaks out, “you can have them bepo. ice cream won’t be good for her.”
you were upset, but knew not to argue against law. he was already agreeing to let you do so much when you should be resting in bed. you didn’t want to push his boundaries. disappointment painted your face as the mink rejoins the others taking the rejected cakes along with him.
law senses the shift in your demeanor. he knew he had to stick with his decision, but he couldn’t help to feel bad for you, “i’m sorry y/n. it’s just not the time to have ice cream cakes.”
you hummed quietly, “i know law..”
your shoulders visibly slump as you watched the crew rave about how great the cake is.
the guilt really pulled at law’s heart strings. he didn’t want you to feel left out because of things you couldn’t control. in that moment a lightbulb idea pops into law’s mind, “i’ll be right back baby. wait here for me.”
you were confused as you watched the tattooed man make his away out the room. nonetheless your attention averted back to the crew celebrating and having fun. you continued to eye the cake for a while until law suddenly appears next to you. you figured it was the work of his devil fruit and didn’t question it.
he handed you a mug. you looked at the contents of it. the warmth of the contents emitted steam from the surface which carried a thick chocolate smell. law sits back down in his original position, and pulls you to his lap, “it’s hot cocoa. i know it’s not what you wanted like ice cream cake, but it is warm at least.”
a smile crept onto your lips. although law would prefer you to take something more natural, such as some herbal tea, he knew that you just wanted a treat. sometimes he had the fight the doctor logic in him. he could tell that you’ve been feeling generally disconnected from the crew due to your constant illnesses. if having a treat that wasn’t the best suited for your conditions meant you could find that connection again, then law figured having to take care of you a little longer wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. he would do it as many times as he needed to as long as it was for you.

Not like you

Summary: Every three years, Shanks and his crew return to a small island, where Y/N—reserved, wary of the sea, and utterly uninterested in his antics—somehow always becomes the center of his attention.
Notes: Yes, I am still alive. I just fell into a writer-hole and heck, I'm still kinda stuck in it. I can not confirm anything or give any promises, but I'll try to update my other works soon. This here is just a Oneshot I texted a lil while ago. Much love to you.
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
The wind carried the scent of salt and celebration long before the ship came into view. It always did. A strange kind of omen, warning the islanders of what was to come.
Y/N stood at the farthest edge of the harbor, arms crossed over her chest as she watched the great black sails unfurl against the sky. The ship loomed closer, cutting through the waves with effortless ease, its Jolly Roger—a grinning skull crowned with three scars—flapping proudly in the breeze.
Three years had passed since the last time they came. Three years of peace. Three years of routine. And now, just like that, it was over.
The Red-Haired Pirates had returned.
The town was already stirring, voices rising in excitement as the massive vessel docked. Children darted ahead, laughing, eager for the stories, the gifts, the chaos that would soon follow. Y/N stayed put, her fingers curling into the fabric of her sleeves.
She should have gone home when she had the chance.
The gangplank hit the wood with a heavy thud, and there he was—Shanks, the devil himself, striding onto the dock like he owned it.
His red hair was windswept, his coat lazily slung over his shoulders, and that damned grin—wide, confident, entirely too pleased with itself—was already fixed in place.
Her stomach twisted.
She turned to leave, but—
“Oi, Y/N!”
Too late.
The crowd barely had time to clear before a heavy arm landed around her shoulders, pulling her in as if they were old friends. As if he hadn’t spent years making her life miserable every time he set foot on this island.
“What a welcome!” he laughed, leaning in closer, and she could already smell the faint traces of rum on him. “Did you miss me?”
Her nails dug into her palms. “Not in the slightest.”
That only made his grin widen.
“She’s lying,” he announced, loud enough for half the harbor to hear. “You see how she’s shaking? That’s excitement, folks!”
A roar of laughter followed, and her face burned. She shoved his arm off her and stepped back, glaring.
“You’re insufferable.”
“And you’re as charming as ever,” he shot back. “Been waiting for me all this time, haven’t you?”
The audacity.
She scoffed, turned on her heel, and stormed away, ignoring the way his laughter chased after her.
She hated him.
She hated his stupid grin, his stupid charm, the way he always singled her out. She hated that no matter how much she tried to disappear, he never let her.
And most of all, she hated that she didn’t understand why.
From the moment the Red-Haired Pirates arrived, the streets were no longer hers. They belonged to them—their voices, their laughter, their music spilling into every alleyway. Taverns would be filled to bursting, barrels of rum cracked open, and for a whole month, the island would forget itself in their presence.
She should have been used to it by now. But there was no getting used to Shanks.
The man had made it his personal mission to make her life hell.
Their first meeting had been a disaster—she had just wanted to buy bread. That was it. But somehow, he had decided she was “too quiet,” and within minutes, she had been pulled onto a table, forced into the center of a drinking song, and made to dance under the amused eyes of half his crew. She had fled the moment she could, humiliated, furious.
Every visit since had been more of the same.
He always found her.
Always turned every situation into a spectacle.
And the worst part?
No one else seemed to mind.
The townspeople loved him. Children ran after him, wide-eyed and eager for stories of the sea. Merchants welcomed him like an old friend, knowing his crew would leave their pockets lighter by the end of the month. Even the mayor, a man who rarely showed favor to outsiders, seemed more relaxed in his presence.
But Y/N?
No.
She wanted nothing to do with him.
And yet, despite her best efforts, she knew she wouldn’t escape him for long.
As if summoned by the mere thought of him, a familiar voice rang out, closer than she would have liked.
“There you are.”
Her heart sank.
Slowly, she turned her head.
Shanks leaned casually against the wooden fence bordering her small garden, looking entirely too pleased with himself. The dim lantern light caught the sharp angles of his face, the playful gleam in his eye.
Y/N crossed her arms. “Are you lost?”
“Nah,” he said easily. “Just wondering why my favorite islander isn’t out celebrating.”
She scoffed. “Maybe because I don’t want to.”
“That can’t be it,” he mused, tapping a finger to his chin. “Maybe you’re waiting for the right invitation.”
She stared at him. “You are unbelievable.”
“I try.”
He moved closer, and she tensed, resisting the urge to step back.
“What do you want, Shanks?” she sighed, tired already.
He tilted his head, as if considering. “I could say I’m here because I just enjoy your company.”
“I wouldn’t believe you.”
“That hurts, Y/N.” His grin was all mischief. “Truly.”
She didn’t dignify that with a response.
Instead, she turned, reaching for the door handle—
And of course he was faster.
With an ease that should have been illegal, he shifted in front of her, blocking her path.
“Move.”
“Hear me out.”
“No.”
“You haven’t even heard what I’m asking.”
“I don’t need to,” she snapped. “I already know it involves me, a crowd, and some grand display of humiliation.”
Shanks clutched his chest as if she had struck him. “You wound me.”
She just glared.
“Alright, alright,” he relented, holding up his hands. “No public humiliation. I swear on my honor as a pirate.”
“That means nothing.”
“Fair point.”
Y/N exhaled sharply. “Just say what you want so I can say no and go to bed.”
His grin softened into something quieter, and for a moment, she felt herself tense for an entirely different reason.
“Just one drink,” he said, and for once, his voice wasn’t loud or teasing. “No crowds, no tricks. Just you and me.”
She frowned.
That was new.
No grand spectacle? No dragging her into some absurd situation?
Just… a drink?
She should say no.
She would say no.
And yet—
Maybe it was exhaustion. Maybe it was the sheer audacity of the man standing in front of her. Or maybe, just maybe, she was tired of running.
“…Fine.”
Shanks blinked. Then, his grin stretched wide, like a cat who had finally caught the canary.
“See? That wasn’t so hard,” he teased. “I knew you secretly liked me.”
She groaned. “I already regret this.”
He only laughed, stepping aside with a sweeping gesture. “Come on, then. Your chariot awaits.”
It wasn’t until she followed him down to the docks that she realized—
They weren’t heading to a tavern.
They were going to his ship.
Y/N stopped in her tracks. “Wait—”
Too late.
He was already walking up the gangplank, moving like a man completely at ease in his domain. He paused at the top, glancing over his shoulder.
“You coming?”
She scowled. “Why here?”
“Would you rather be crammed between a bunch of sweaty drunks?” he asked, tilting his head. “Figured this would be more… personal.”
That word sent a prickle of unease down her spine.
Shanks, personal?
Something about that felt dangerous.
Still, she wasn’t about to back down now.
With a resigned sigh, she stepped onto the wooden boards, following him into the belly of the beast.
The ship was eerily quiet.
Y/N had expected noise, crew members, something. But as she stepped onto the deck, there was no one in sight.
It was strange.
Shanks thrived in chaos. He was always in the middle of it, the heart of the storm. And yet, here he was, leading her into the dimly lit captain’s quarters, far away from the revelry.
He gestured toward a small table, where a bottle of dark liquor and two glasses waited. “Have a seat.”
She did, eyeing him warily as he poured.
Her gaze flickered—unintentionally—over him.
It was different seeing him like this, away from the noise and the laughter.
Here, under the lantern light, she could see the details she had always ignored. The deep scars running over his eye. The way his coat, as grand as it seemed at first glance, was frayed at the edges, weathered by years at sea. The sleeve of his missing arm, loosely pinned, the fabric worn.
For all his confidence, for all his presence—he was just a man.
Shanks noticed.
His smirk curled.
“Careful,” he drawled. “Stare at me like that any longer, and I’ll start thinking you’re interested.”
Her face heated. “I wasn’t—!”
“Oh, no need to explain,” he cut in smoothly, leaning back in his chair. “I get it. Happens all the time.”
Y/N narrowed her eyes. “Does it?”
“Oh, sure.” He gestured grandly with his one arm. “The tragic but dashing pirate, battle-worn but still impossibly charming—”
She snorted. “Impossibly is the right word.”
“—and of course,” he continued as if she hadn’t spoken, “there’s always a lovely island girl who can’t help but fall for my roguish good looks.”
She rolled her eyes. “I should have known you’d make this unbearable.”
Shanks grinned. “You make it too easy.”
He reached for his drink, and for a brief moment, she caught it again—that flash of something beneath the bravado. Something older. He caught her staring, and his smirk softened into something different.
“Does it bother you?” he asked suddenly.
She frowned. “What?”
“The arm.”
Her eyes flickered to the empty sleeve, then back to his face.
Did it?
“No,” she said honestly. “It doesn’t.”
He hummed, swirling the liquor in his glass. “Most people try not to look.”
“I’m not most people.”
He chuckled. “That, Y/N, is painfully obvious.”
She huffed. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
Shanks leaned forward, elbows on the table, his grin downright lazy. “You’re different.”
She snorted. “Oh, is that your grand observation?”
“Mhmm.” He tilted his head, eyes glinting. “You don’t drink. You don’t party. You don’t fall for my charm—”
“That’s debatable.”
“—and yet,” he continued smoothly, ignoring her interruption, “you’re here. Alone. With me.”
Y/N suddenly became very aware of how small the room was.
She scoffed, taking a sip of her drink just to have something to do. The burn of it settled in her chest. “Only because you tricked me.”
Shanks grinned. “Oh, sweetheart. If I had tricked you, we wouldn’t be sitting at this table.”
She nearly choked on her drink.
His laughter rang through the cabin, rich and warm, and she knew— She was in trouble.
For a moment, silence stretched between them, the teasing grin still lingering on Shanks’ lips.
Then, his expression shifted.
It was subtle—barely more than a flicker—but Y/N noticed.
His fingers drummed absently against the side of his glass, his gaze lowering to the amber liquid inside. When he spoke again, his voice was quieter.
“The world is changing.”
Y/N frowned, caught off guard by the sudden weight in his tone. “What?”
Shanks exhaled, tipping his head back slightly as if looking at something far beyond the wooden walls of his cabin.
“The sea is restless,” he murmured. “The young are getting bolder. They want their piece of the world, and they’re willing to fight for it.” He chuckled, but there was no real amusement in it. “Sooner or later, the balance will break. And when that happens… everything will shift.”
She stared at him.
This wasn’t the Shanks she knew—the one who laughed too loudly, who never seemed to take anything seriously.
This was a captain speaking. A man who had seen the tides change before.
She tried to shake the unease creeping up her spine.
“So what?” she said, attempting nonchalance. “You always say you’re the strongest, don’t you?”
His lips quirked. “I say a lot of things.”
That shouldn’t have bothered her. But for some reason, it did.
She studied him. He had lived a life of war, of battles and losses, but she had never seen him like this—so aware of the cost of it all.
“Are you saying you won’t come back?” she asked, the words slipping out before she could stop them.
Shanks didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he tilted his glass slightly, watching the liquid swirl.
“Not as soon as usual,” he admitted. “Maybe not at all.”
Y/N stiffened.
For years, she had resented his arrivals, cursed his teasing, his ability to turn her into the center of attention. And yet, the thought of him never returning settled heavily in her chest in a way she didn’t like.
She scowled, shoving the feeling aside. “You’re messing with me.”
Shanks met her gaze, and for once, there was no laughter in his eyes.
“I’m not.”
Something about the way he said it made her stomach twist.
Her fingers tightened around her glass.
“…So why tell me?” she asked, unsure why her voice felt smaller.
Shanks leaned forward, the space between them shrinking. His expression was unreadable, the usual mischief replaced with something quieter. Something more real.
“Because I need to know,” he said softly, “if you trust me.”
Y/N blinked. “What?”
His gaze held hers, unwavering. “Do you trust me?”
She swallowed.
Did she?
For years, she had told herself she hated him—his recklessness, his carefree arrogance, the way he never let her fade into the background.
But she had never once feared him.
Never once doubted that, if she were to fall, he would catch her.
“…Yes.”
The second the word left her lips, Shanks moved.
It happened so fast she barely had time to react—his hand tilting her chin up, his breath warm against her skin. Then, his lips met hers, firm yet unhurried, as if he were trying to tell her something without words.
Y/N froze.
Her heart pounded in her chest, her thoughts scattering.
Shanks—kissing her.
And worse?
She wasn’t stopping him.
His fingers curled against her jaw, holding her in place as if afraid she might slip away. There was no drunken recklessness in the way he kissed her—no teasing, no games. Just heat. Just intention.
Just him.
By the time he pulled away, her breath was uneven, her face burning.
He studied her for a moment, searching, before his lips curved into something softer than his usual grin.
“There,” he murmured, his thumb brushing her skin. “Now you know.”
Her mind was still reeling. “K-Know what?”
Shanks chuckled, the sound low. “How I feel.”
Y/N could still feel the warmth of his lips on hers, even as her mind struggled to make sense of what had just happened.
Shanks had kissed her.
And he had meant it.
She wasn’t sure what unsettled her more—the act itself or the realization that she hadn’t wanted him to stop.
Shanks exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Listen…”
His voice was lower than usual, lacking its usual ease. Almost hesitant.
“I know this is a lot,” he continued, choosing his words carefully. “And I’m not trying to rush anything or—or expect anything. I just…” He sighed, shaking his head. “Hell, this is harder than I thought.”
She blinked. Was he—the great Red-Haired Shanks—nervous?
He met her gaze again, more serious this time.
“Stay,” he said simply.
Her breath caught.
His mouth quirked slightly at her expression, but there was something uncertain in it. “Not like that,” he clarified quickly. “I just—I want to spend more time with you. Just tonight.”
Y/N hesitated.
Everything about this—about him—felt overwhelming. But at the same time…
She didn’t want to leave.
Maybe it was the heat of the moment. Maybe it was the storm he claimed was coming. Or maybe, just maybe, it was because a part of her liked him more than she thought.
“…Alright,” she said softly.
His shoulders relaxed, as if he had been bracing for her rejection.
Shanks grinned then—not his usual teasing smirk, but something warmer. Something real.
“Good,” he murmured.
She looked down at her glass, at the golden liquid swirling inside. “Just tonight.”
“Just tonight,” he echoed.
But as the ship swayed gently beneath them, as the night stretched on with quiet conversation and lingering glances, Y/N couldn’t help but wonder—
Hadn’t it always been more than that?
And when he left—whenever that would be—wouldn’t some part of him stay behind?
Wouldn’t some part of her go with him?

「synopsis」 : what you and jungwon had was nothing short of unethical, if you were to ask your people, that is. neither of you cared, though, which is how you find yourself waiting for the said man in the very cavern that had started everything, relishing in each other's company.
「genre」 : smut
「warning」 : unprotected sex (just don't), slight manhandling, teasing, cussing, making out, petnames (baby, princess...), praising, rough sex, mentions of marking, creampie, multiple orgasms, overstimulation, lmk if I missed anything!
The cavern was silent, save for the waves splashing against the shore. It had to have been late into the night. The only source of light was the bioluminescent algae that littered the cavern walls and ceiling. The algae illuminated the space in a soft blue, and the water almost glowed along with it. You lay out on the rocks, crimson tail dipping into the water, enjoying the feeling of the waves cascading across your scales.
Despite knowing the time, you knew that he would be here at any moment. You knew that as soon as his crew was all asleep, he would sneak away to come see you. It has become a routine since Jungwon first found you.
It’s a funny story, really. You had gotten caught in one of their nets when they were anchored in this very cavern. The string was far too tight for you to just rip away from, so you were stuck, fearing that your life was going to come to an end. You had heard the stories from your parents and the elders of the shoal. Pirates were not to be messed with; they would kill you on sight and take your scales to pawn off for a pretty penny.
So to say you were surprised when Jungwon found you and just cut you free would be an understatement. His hands were steady but careful as he wedged his blade between your tail and the net, slicing the dreadful contraption off of you. Even his voice was soft as to not alert those that were on the ship with him. His kind eyes and gentle hands intrigued you and you knew it was wrong, hell it was probably one of the worst things you could do in your life. But god, if you didn’t enjoy the thrill of it all.
After those events, you stayed behind a cluster of rocks, watching and studying what they were doing. Your family had been worried sick about you all night long, but that was the least of your concerns right now. No, you wanted to actually talk to this man, even if it was the dumbest thing you’ve done. Curiosity has gotten the best of you.
So you waited… and waited… and waited. Finally, you saw Jungwon climbing off of the boat.
You tried to sneak up behind him, but for some miraculous reason, he sensed you there. His head turned, and his eyes bore into yours, peeking from the top of the water.
“I didn’t think a pretty thing like you would hang out around here.” His once soft voice now held a more sinister tone, but instead of getting scared… you were intrigued. Something pulling you towards him, like an angler fish going after the little light antenna on their heads.
That desire only grew from that night when he lured you out of the waters, watching as your tail morphed into human legs, leaving your bottom half completely bare to him. The complete ecstasy that his fingertips brought you left you gasping and begging for more. His dick reaching the most inner parts of your body that you hadn’t even known existed. By the time he was done with you, you had become addicted, wanting nothing more than to be in his embrace once more.
Thus began the little rendezvous, meeting in the very place where he first made love to you, much like what was happening now.
When Jungwon made it into the cavern, he wasn’t surprised at all to find you lying halfway in the water, your tail swishing softly under the surface. Your head was tilted back, eyes closed, enjoying the tranquility that this space brought you. He stopped once he was close enough to fully see you. Watching the way your damp hair cascaded down your back, small droplets of water still falling from the ends. His eyes trailed the length of your body, taking in your chest that was hardly covered due to the shell top you were wearing. Jungwon could feel his dick chub up at the sight alone.
Jungwon’s footsteps were careful and quiet, but you could still feel the vibrations under your fingertips. Your head turned slightly to look over at him, and the corner of your eyes crinkled slightly as a smirk spread across your lips.
“It took you long enough,” you teased the male as you pulled yourself further from the sparkling water. Your fingers wrapped around the pendant that lay between your collarbones, whispering a few soft words, allowing your tail to morph into human legs. Jungwon’s eyes stayed glued to your body, taking in the new skin that had just been revealed to him.
“I had to wait for everyone to fall asleep.” His voice was soft, unlike the dark look that glazed over his eyes. You carefully stood to your feet, but seeing as it's been a little bit since the last time you had to use your legs, your knees buckled, and you tumbled forward right into Jungwon's arms. “Even the sight of me has your legs weak, huh? I'm flattered.”
“Oh, hush.” You rolled your eyes before fixing your posture to wrap your arms around his neck, fingers playing with the ends of his hair. His face was merely inches away from yours, eyes boring into your own. He could smell the sea salt on your skin as he leaned closer to you, sealing your lips in a gentle kiss.
“God, I've missed your lips so much.” He groaned against your lips, “... I missed you.” He sighed before letting his lips trail from yours to your cheek, down your jaw and neck, before finding purchase on one particular spot right below your ear. A soft sigh fell from your lips as you pulled his body flush against yours, leaving little to no room between the two of you. He continued to press open-mouth kisses along your jugular until he was sure there would be marks left behind, not caring for the consequences you might face once you were home.
“Won…” You whine when his hands traveled down to the fat of your ass, squeezing harshly. He licked a long stipe up your neck before roughly kissing you. His lips moved fervently against yours as he swiftly picked you up off of your feet.
Jungwon wasted no time in laying your body flat on the flat rocks that sat next to the lagoon. His body slotted against yours, allowing you to feel his bulge against your bare pussy. Your small whines and whimpers were swallowed by Jungwon’s mouth as his fingers brushed along the inside of your thigh.
Your body felt like it was on fire under his touch, his fingers leaving tingles in their wake. But it wasn’t enough; no, you wanted more, and you didn’t want to wait. Noticing the impatiens in your eyes, Jungwon chuckled, pressing his thumb firmly against your clit, making your hips buck and a broken cry fall from your lips.
“Do you really want my cock that bad baby? You’re dripping on my fingers.” He teased, his fingertips tracing your slit, collecting your slick.
“Wonnie, please, I don’t wanna wait. Just fuck me, please.” You pleaded in a meek voice, and Jungwon smirked against your skin.
Who was he to deny you what you were asking so nicely for? So he pressed one last kiss against your forehead before pulling back to rid himself of his clothing. Your mouth watered at the sight of his cock springing free from his trousers. Catching your gaze, he put on a bit of a show, pumping his cock a few times, hissing through his teeth at the sensation. Impatience grew in your chest as you watched him pleasure himself. A whine fell from your lips when he denied your motion for him to move towards you.
Eyes rolling, you moved your hand down to your cunt using your fingers to spread your pussy lips, “Just fuck me already, Won, please.”
He chuckled once more before finally giving in and moving closer to your body, grabbing your plush thigh. Leaning over your body, he captured your lips in another heated kiss as he lined his cock with your entrance. In one swift motion, he buried himself in your warm heat, swallowing all of the moans that slipped past your lips.
“Fuck you’re so fucking tight, baby,” He groaned, biting down on your bottom lip. It had been far too long since he was last able to bury himself in your wet cavern, the crew and missions taking up a majority of his time. So he wasn’t going to hold back; no, he had a lot of lost time to make up for.
He gave you a split second to adjust before his hips were snapping into yours in such a rough manner you were sure there would be bruises. The sounds of your skin hitting his and moans bounced off of the cavern walls. Jungwon couldn’t hold back; his hips were pistoned into your, trying to get as deep as he could, throwing your legs over his shoulders, pushing even deeper. Deep enough to have the head of his cock kissing your cervix.
Wonton moans fell from your lips as you tried your best to stay up with his pace, but as soon as his tip brushed over that sweet spot deep in your pussy you were putty in his hands. Stars clouded your vision, your orgasm already on the tip of your tongue.
“Fuck- Won, I’m- shit, I’m close.” Tears brimmed in your eyes at the sudden overwhelming pleasure. Jungwon leaned down, kissing over the few tears that had fallen from your eyes, whispering sweet praises against your skin while his hip snapped brutally into yours.
“You’re such a good girl, aren’t you?” He groaned when your cunt squeezed around him, “fuck princess, you keep doing that, and I won’t last.” His hands trailed from your thigh to your hands, intertwining your fingers when your high washed over you. His pace slowed just a little to help you ride out your orgasm, but his movements never stopped.
“Won-” “Just a little longer, baby, I’m almost there.” He groaned before picking up the pace once more, letting go of one of your hands to rub his thumb against your clit, relishing in the feeling of your walls fluttering around him.
Your head fell back at the overstimulation, all words but his name leaving your brain. Jungwon loved when he got you like this, so fucked out that his name was the only thing you could remember. Chuckling, he pressed a kiss against your plush thigh before a choked groan tore through his lips when he felt you cum for a second time. The tightness around his sensitive cock was enough to finally push him over the edge, painting your velvet walls white.
“Shit…” He groaned into your neck as he leaned over you, hips rocking softly against yours. Taking in your scent, memorizing it once more for he wasn’t sure when he would be able to see you again.
“Won,” you breathed out, running your shaky fingers through his hair. "You’re still hard.”
Jungwon couldn’t help but chuckle before rolling his hips deeply into yours, pushing his cum further into your womb, “You drive me insane, baby, and I want to fill you so full of my cum.”
A whine slipped past your swollen lips as his pace picked up a little, but your grip on his body didn’t let up. No, your lips found his, kissing him deeply, telling him that you would love nothing more.

One Piece Monster Trio: Calling them husband when you're only dating
A random drabble I thought of after seeing a tik tok of this random girl calling her boyfriend husband. Enjoy the firstfruits of my madness >:)

Monkey D. Luffy
-You say it in passing to some random guy while apologizing for Luffy causing a scene and Luffy doesn't even realize.
-You're just like, "Sorry, my husband is a little excited," and now he's just trying to figure when the wedding was and if he missed your anniversary or not.
-Man is gaslit so hard he forgets that you aren't even married and somehow all the townspeople are suddenly referring to you as "the straw hats wife"
-After all, just like he will be the Pirate King you will be his wife.
-Only gets brought up when some lady asks to see your ring and Luffy starts freaking out when you say you don't have it.
-"Did you lose it during the fight?!"
-Man is actually sweating until you assure him you didn't because YOU NEVER EVEN HAD ONE.
-"Well, do ya want one?" After some blushing and nodding he tears off the drawstring to his hat and ties that around your left ring finger as a placeholder.
-You better start introducing yourself as the Queen of the Pirates.
Roronoa Zoro
-Sanji was making some comment under his breath about why a goddess like you chose to be with human shrek and before Zoro could even rerack the barbell to argue you were already defending him, "Don't talk about my husband that way you overcooked spaghetti haired-"
-Zoro is so shocked by the word 'husband' leaving your mouth he doesn't even recognize that the sass you'd exuded was borrowed from his own insults to the cook. The barbell just drops clean onto his chest and hes fighting for dear life to get it off.
-You've never lifted a weight in your LIFE so Sanji has to help you save him.
-Right after Sanji's yelling, Zoro is so quiet. He's just staring at you like you've got 3 heads.
-"Great, you broke him!" You yell when Sanji sees the dumb awe on Zoro's face.
-"You did that yourself, my dear. Look at the dumb look on your husbands face-" Now you're blushing and stammering because you realized what you'd said thinking you'd offended the swordsman.
-"Not my husband-"
-"Yet." Theres the tiniest smile on Zoro's face when he says it.
-HES LOOKING DEAD AT YOU TOO WHICH IS MAKING SANJI AUDIBLY GAG.
-"If you don't die from a barbell first."
Blackleg Sanji
-He calls you wife all the time but he never expects you to try to get him back for it.
-He's literally in the middle of serving dinner when one day you just drop, "Yeah, my hubby's the best cook!" After some rando Luffy had invited on the ship starts glowing about the taste.
-He hits the deck.
-Literally.
-But also the edge of the table on the way down.
-Chopper actually thinks hes had a heart attack because this man went TACHYCARDIC.
-Wakes up with a concussion and the ability to speak fluent french.
-You know he wakes up and starts mumbling nonsense like, "mon cher je suis honoré d’être votre seul et unique!" (My dear, i'm honored to be your one and only).
-I haven't taken french in years so please correct me if you're fluent.

————————
The atmosphere in the island was warm and friendly, civilians held no fear of the Heart Pirates at all. From the moment they surfaced the Polar Tang and all through the day as they gathered supplies and stretched their limbs while enjoying the fresh summer air and sun that they’d greatly missed while traveling under water. Taking advantage of the hospitality of the island and its inhabitants, with there still being so much the crew had yet to see and do, they begged Law to stay an extra couple days. Trying to remain firm, Law told them they would only stay on land for the night and in the morning everyone would be allowed the day to explore or shop, using the time as they saw fit but he wouldn’t allow any longer to distract them from their journey. With bellies filled with delicious food and now everyone enjoying drinks, Law felt himself relax in his seat just happy to sit back and talk with the others while still observing his surroundings.
As he drank slowly his eyes fell onto the table you were sat at. At first he didn’t know why a table with what was obviously a random couple having a date would capture his attention but then he realised what it was. Your body language just radiated tension. Not a shy nervousness that would show in the beginning of a relationship, or a tense anticipation that you were expecting something like a proposal. Your whole body was tense with restrained annoyance. As Law finished his drink he caught you glancing towards the clock on the wall while forcing yourself to give your date a polite nod in response to whatever it was he was saying. You were trying to gauge when you could bail on this date without seeming like the bad guy. From the way your foot idly bounced under the table when the date laughed at his own joke, it was clear you were reaching the end of your patience. Poor you, but it wasn’t his problem.
Law rose and walked to the bar to get a new drink. While he waited for it to be served he couldn't help but have his attention slowly drift back to your shipwreck of a date. From this angle he now had a clear view of your face and now he couldn’t look away, immediately drawn further into observing the interaction you were having with your date. Law watched as you opened your mouth, actually excited for the first time that he’d seen to say something in response only for your date to talk over you. Immediately your bright eyes sharpened and cooled, your jaw tightening and fingers curling into a fist against the table. Honestly, what kind of idiot had you agreed to go out with that couldn’t even pick up on your unhappiness? Were they that self-absorbed?
His own dark gold eyes watched as your date got up from the table and headed for the restroom, Law didn’t miss the disappointment in your eyes to see he wasn’t going for the exit and smirked. Grabbing his drink he approached your table and came to a stop in front of you. You blinked and for a moment thought your date had unfortunately returned faster than you’d hoped, only to blink in surprise to see who was now in front of you. You’d heard pirates had arrived and you were familiar with this man’s face after having seen it in the papers more than enough times. You wondered if he knew that the photos and posters did not do his attractiveness justice. Deciding this intrusion was a lot more exciting than the torture that was your date you smiled at Law. “Can I help you?”
“Now that’s not fair, that was going to be my line.” Law told you with a small chuckle. “If you’re being held hostage by that guy just say the word.”
“Oh I’ve been warned against this kind of thing.” You hummed playfully. “Offers of help usually come at a price.”
“Can’t I just offer to be nice?”
“Aren't you supposed to be a pirate? Does being nice go against your code?”
“So long as the Marines don’t find out my reputation is safe.” Law explained, his smirk growing as you laughed. Honestly your date fell further and further down in his regard by the second. “So? Need my help?”
“We still haven’t discussed payment.”
“Nothing much, just a walk through the city?”
“Can’t say no to a fair exchange like that. You’ve got yourself a deal.” You conceded, sitting back in your seat. This conversation was the most fun you’d had all evening and you were curious to see what Law would do. You tilted your head when Law set his drink down and took your hand, pulling you to your feet and leading you to the door. “Really? Just walking out is your big idea?”
“I’ve had your date trapped in the restrooms since he left the table. Didn't you wonder what was taking him so long?” Law explained, grinned at your shocked expression. As a precaution he’d had his room ability activated from the second he and the crew entered the bar, just in case any of them needed to make a quick escape. When your date was away he’d shifted the large boxes from the alley outside to block the restroom doors. All Law had really needed was your say-so to continue spending time with him. He dropped his gaze down when you looped your arm through his as you both walked through the busy nighttime streets. “So where to first? You’re the local here, not me.”
“Well the city’s pretty big. I can’t exactly show you everything in one night.” You explained lightly with a smile.
“Well aren’t you lucky? My crew and I won’t be leaving for a few days.”

Apologetic Valentine
Masterlist Here
Word Count: 1,400+
Synopsis: Doflamingo has missed another Valentine's Day alongside anniversaries, holidays, and birthdays. He decides to make it up to you by gifting a variety of presents and indulges in watching you attempt to open it while his hands become a welcome distraction.
Themes: Doflamingo x afab!reader, MDNI, NSFW, 18+, smut, cockwarming, domflamingo, established relationship, overstimulation, love, kisses, lots of pet-names.
Notes: Massive shout out to @loganwritesprobably, @mermaniaa, @queenmimi2817, @thietanavenus and @vaadalt for keeping me company and giving me ideas for this one last night 🖤. Happy belated Valentine's!
The vast array of gifts littering the ensuite table was in hues of deep red up to pastel pinks. Crete paper and ruby-stained tissue was thrust amongst the peonies, roses and tulips: all a healthy dedication depicting the love from your partner sitting beneath your lap. Reaching towards the velveteen box clad in ribbons and tulle, your breath caught in your throat and a shocked moan tugged its way from your chest to your lips.
“Eyes on the gifts now, my sweet,” Donquixote Doflamingo’s voice poured like molasses down at you, “Open the next one of your many trinkets from me.” Your hands shuddered as they lingered over the fabric, your entire body being struck alight and unravelling beneath the skilled hands of Doflamingo while you shifted through your gifts.
Valentine’s Day had come and gone, birthdays were of a similar regard. Doflamingo was a busy man: king, warlord, and pirate captain all in one, giant, feather-clad form. As his spouse, you were accustomed to being left to your own devices while he sought out his orders and took to his mighty kingdom.
However, he regretted not spending every waking moment serenaded by your smile and illuminated with your laughter - which was why he spent so much time purchasing thoughtful items and an amassment of flowers for your enjoyment.
As you made to unravel the ribbon, a whine spilled from your lips as your hips rolled against your will, relishing in the contact of his hand against your bare cunt. Doflamingo’s cock pulsed deep within your abdomen, impaling you and holding you hostage to your whims while keeping him warm and secure inside of you.
“The next one. Please, mi amor,” he whispered softly while using his index finger to swirl against your clit. “Tug the ribbon and tell me what you think of it.” He rocked his hips against yours, allowing a small groan of his own to join with yours before remaining completely stationary seated within your pussy.
Slowly withdrawing the ribbon, you tugged at the cloth and reached for the fastening holding the box closed. While you opened the velveteen surface, your fingers halted while you attempted to ignore the call into bliss founded by the skilled fingers of Doflamingo. The pad of his index finger continued to drive you to the brink of insanity the longer he held you hostage on his cock, but the smooth pour of his voice lingering in your ear from behind kept you grounded.
“What is it, little dove?” his voice caressed the shell of your ear, “What can you see, hm? Talk me through it.” As his warmth spread from the nape of your neck down, igniting pebbled goose-flesh along your spine, you clenched hard around his shaft and arched your back while rolling over the box between your thumb and forefingers.
“I-I see,” you stumble over your tone while you open the box. The rolling of his fingers grinds to a halt, holding you stationary within the cusps of falling over the edge of ecstasy.
“Words, dove. You have them, you can use your pretty little tongue to draw them up and over your palate,” he whispered down into your scalp, flicking his lengthy tongue against your earlobe, “Try for me.” His fingers once again moved against that pebbled pearl at the top of your glistening cunt. His own voice constricted around his shuddering groan as he gazed over his rose-tinted glasses down towards the box in your hands.
“It’s-It’s-,” you again tried to elicit sounds to depict your insight, opening the box and peering down within its plush surface. Your fingers reached forward, caressing the interior of the silken padding of the gift as a cool metal caressed your skin. Each small divot was both smooth and rough within your hands, a ribbon of gold with a small, balled, spherical object at the base of the box.
Doflamingo purred through his soft mewl, his quivering cock pulsating thickly inside your cunt while he listened to you struggle to get the words out. He revelled in the flutter of your walls sucking in his length, gasping out at every soft quiver while he held you on that edge without ever letting you fall.
“I-It's a necklace with a b-ball on the end,” you whimper, brows furrowing in the centre of your forehead while you struggle to contain yourself. Doflamingo’s hand momentarily left your pussy as he reached up with the other to collect the charm from your hand. He rocked his hips to and fro to keep you right on the cusps of your release, biting back his own needs in order to tease you further.
Gently raising the chain, he draws it around your neck while he continues to gently rock his hips. His cock pinpoints your g-spot, dragging against it and forcing your jaw to draw slack at the intensity. He placed the necklace around you and joined the clasp at the nape above your spine. The large hands then resumed their position: one against your clit and rolling the pert bud in time with his gentle rocking, the other drawn over your chest and bracing your shoulders into his chest.
“The ball has a small port you can see into,” he hummed down against your smaller frame, “I had an image placed within of when we first began seeing one another.” He picked up his pace, finally bouncing you atop his lap and seeking out that familiar grip and contraction of your pussy sucking greedily on his thick cock. He grunted while listening to your gasps and mewls spill from your lips, holding you firmly against him while the crude ‘plap, plap, plap,’ of his hips meeting yours grew in relentless intensity.
There were no thoughts behind your eyes while your spouse continued to tug you towards that edge he had held you hostage to from the moment you first started this small gift exchange. Only pleasure seeped into your veins and ignited your blood with sharp and unyielding euphoria. Your abdomen pulsed and began to simmer with popping flashes, like water in hot oil fizzing on a cast iron surface. The gateway into bliss had parted, and that familiar desperation had reared its face in the tingles expanding from your cunt to your toes.
“Say: ‘Thank You, Doffy’, little dove,” he moaned down onto the crown of your head at every bobbing pass, “‘Thank you for your gift’.”
“Thank you, Doffy!” you cried out, lips parting as your pussy gushed over his cock. The pulses of your ring of muscle sucking on him was enough to push the king behind you over his edge, flooding your cunt to the brim with heavy bursts of his thick and pent-up ecstasy.
He groaned your name, revelling in the small world the two of you had set aside with one another as he drove your body hard to ride the waves of bliss together. Your body desperately convulsed in a bid to curl inwards, legs shuddering to winch themselves closed. Doflamingo angled his legs to hold yours open, shepherding you both through overstimulation while you churned through babbles of incohesive pleas.
Doflamingo finally relinquished his assault in holding you hostage to your pleasure as you both slumped forward against the pink-shrouded table. He chuckled deeply against your neck as he pressed his lips in a lengthy line of kisses from your spine up to your temple. Each kiss depicted his apologies, his gratitude, his lust, and his pure, unbridled devotion to you and you alone, all while dwelling in the afterglow of your accumulated passion.
“Okay, little dove,” he whispered softly, “Only five more gifts to open. Go on, my darling. Slowly use those little fingers to open the packages, and I expect a ‘thank you, Doffy’, after each one.”
You panted and heaved, sweat beginning to drop from your forehead as your glossy skin recuperated from a glimpse of the heavens by his skilled hands. In lieu of reaching for another gift, you tilted your head and drew your hand to his cheek from behind you.
Slowly drawing his face closer to yours, you joined your lips against his and slowly bled your emotional outpour in a timid and intentional kiss. Tongues only floating together momentarily, you focussed on depicting your love and gratitude that he spared a moment of his busy schedule to do this with you. Your breaths became one while your bodies were still joined at the hips, your kiss lingering on his skin as you pulled away from his face. Darting your eyes between his own, your lips shared an outpour of soft and pure love in the formation of three words.
“Thank you, Doffy.”
“You're welcome, little dove.”

I think it's really funny that queen joined the riptide pirates because a strange fish man was moved to tears by her singing and was like "hey me and my friends going to a battle of the bands next month you should come" (failing to mention that "me and my friends" are the most wanted pirates in the world) and then they just. didn't do that.
like they were ambushed by the navy before they even fucking LEFT all-port; and then they got high and were attacked by a fucking minor deity of the undersea; and then the captain that invited queen is like slowly dying from exhaustion but that's not important right now; and then they're on and island for a little bit and that part was fine until they're ambushed by the navy AGAIN on their way back to all-port; and THEN they decide now is a good time to go into the hell ocean made of evil gunk and dead people that no one is allowed to go in, and queen almost dies SEVERAL TIMES and is forced to confront someone from their past that he doesn't quite remember but is HORRIFIED of. and her consolation prize is a crown which, admittedly, was lovingly made by his captains in an attempt to cheer them up, but like. jesus christ. I think they missed battle of the bands.
#shit spiraled out of control SO quickly its insane#i blame kuba. i think gill almost dying kicked chip and jay into high gear.#jrwi riptide#jrwi#just roll with it#jrwi queen

Unspoken Words
╰┈➤ pairing: Shanks x female! reader
a/n: send request if you have any <3
summary: After a long and unexpected reunion with Shanks, the two of you share a quiet, intimate moment on the deck of the Red-Haired Pirates' ship, where Shanks finally confesses that, despite all the years and distance, he’s never stopped loving you.
wc: 900
contains: fluff, tiny angst
The sun had begun its descent, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink as the sea lapped gently against the hull of the Red-Haired Pirates' ship. The sounds of the crew bustled in the background, but up on the deck, away from the ruckus, the air felt still, like the world had paused just for you two.
You hadn't expected to be here—on this ship, with him.
It had been years. Years of wondering, waiting, and hoping that one day you’d see him again. Shanks. The man who had left without a word, disappearing into the vast world, only to reappear like a distant memory brought to life. You had kept the promise you'd made to yourself: to move on. Life had taken you down its own winding roads, yet deep down, a part of you had always carried him with you.
Now, you stood beside him once more. Your heart ached with emotions you couldn’t quite sort out. His fiery red hair caught the light of the fading sun, and that trademark grin played across his lips, but there was something in his eyes—something softer—that made you wonder just how much time had really passed.
"You’re quieter than I remember," Shanks chuckled, turning his gaze toward you.
You blinked, breaking from your thoughts. "I guess I’m still processing this whole... reunion."
He tilted his head, eyes sparkling with mischief, but there was a hint of vulnerability hidden beneath. "I didn't expect you to be speechless. Was I that bad of a captain to make you nervous?"
The teasing tone didn’t reach his eyes, though. His grin faltered for a brief second, and you noticed the subtle way his fingers tightened around the railing. He’d always worn that easygoing facade, but the longer you looked at him, the more it became clear—there was something on his mind. Something he hadn't told you all these years.
You took a small step closer, letting the warm evening breeze sweep through your hair. “You’ve got a lot of explaining to do.”
Shanks laughed softly, a sound you had missed so much. "I know," he admitted. "But... it’s been so long, I wasn’t sure where to start."
You gave him a small, wry smile, your gaze steady on him. "Start with the most important part," you said quietly. "Why did you leave without a word? We didn’t even get a proper goodbye."
His expression shifted, and for a moment, he was silent. He turned his gaze to the horizon, the fiery orange sun reflecting in his eyes. “I wanted to come back. God, I wanted to. But... I didn’t think it was right. I thought you’d be better off without me, that I’d just get in the way of your future."
You were silent, processing his words. “So you left because you thought it was for the best?” you asked, your voice a mix of frustration and sadness.
Shanks nodded, his shoulders tense. "I’ve always been a man who lives in the moment. But I’ve never been good at thinking ahead. Back then, I couldn’t offer you anything solid. I didn’t want to drag you along with my reckless lifestyle... And I hated the idea of you waiting for me, wasting your life on someone who couldn’t promise you anything."
The weight of his words hung between you, but as you watched him—this man who had always been larger than life, full of energy and joy—you saw something that you hadn’t expected: regret.
"I spent all these years thinking about you," he continued, his voice softer now, tinged with something you couldn’t quite place. "Wondering if you hated me, or if you had moved on with someone else. I tried to convince myself that it was better this way. But it’s been... hard. Every damn day, harder than the last."
Your heart clenched as you took a step forward, your fingers brushing lightly against his arm. "Shanks, you don't have to apologize. You did what you thought was best... but I wish you’d known I would've waited for you."
He turned to face you then, his gaze locking onto yours. The playful spark was gone, replaced by an intensity that made your breath hitch. "I didn’t know," he murmured, his voice low. "But I do now."
For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of the sea and the faint creak of the ship’s wooden planks. Shanks shifted, closing the distance between you, and before you knew it, his hand gently cupped your face. His thumb brushed over your cheek, a simple touch, but it sent a jolt of warmth through your chest.
“You’ve always been a part of me, Y/N,” Shanks whispered, his forehead resting against yours. “Even when I was a thousand miles away, I never stopped thinking about you. I never stopped loving you.”
The words hung in the air, as if they were both a confession and a release. A truth he’d kept hidden for far too long. You stared at him, your heart racing, and a bittersweet smile curled on your lips.
"I don’t know what to say," you murmured, your voice trembling slightly.
"You don’t have to say anything," he replied, his grin returning but this time it held a tenderness that hadn’t been there before. "I just wanted you to know... I never stopped loving you."
Your heart swelled, and without another thought, you leaned in, closing the gap between you. His lips were warm and gentle against yours, like a long-awaited reunion, and for a moment, the world melted away. The past, the years of separation, the pain—it all faded into the background as you kissed him, letting the emotions that had been hidden for so long wash over you both.
When you pulled back, breathless and with your forehead resting against his, you whispered, “I missed you, Shanks.”
He grinned, his eyes still soft but filled with that familiar spark. "I’m not going anywhere this time."
And for the first time in years, you believed him.
The sun dipped below the horizon, but the warmth between you both remained—quiet, unspoken, and enough to carry you both through whatever the future held.
