Ghana's anti-lgbtq+ bill moves forward…
MP Sam George, one of the bill’s sponsors, warned the US that if it imposed sanctions on Ghanaian lawmakers for passing the bill, as they have done in the case of Ugandan lawmakers, “We will also take action against their business interests in our country.” He accused the US of hypocrisy for not penalising its own lawmakers, such as Governor Ron DeSantis, who has passed anti-LGBTQ legislation in the state of Florida.
… The previously circulated version of the bill sought to not only criminalise all LGBTQ people in Ghana but also make it illegal to advocate for LGBTQ rights in any way, with a potential prison sentence of up to ten years. Merely identifying as LGBTQ or as an LGBTQ ally would carry a penalty of three to five years in prison. The bill would further outlaw any medical gender affirmation treatment, gay adoption, and same-sex marriage, as well as prohibit transgender individuals from getting married.

#Girl Another Day, Another Gay🙄😒. Homophobic Activist #ChristiaanOtto was exposed by an Facebook Page (Expose Christiaan Otto) for having a Grindr account to solicit men for sex. _________________________________________ #YessChile The same man that said the #coronavirus was God’s way of punishing the LGBTQ community and also said before that being gay was a mental illness. 😒(Then how come I don’t have a disability check?🤔) ________________________________________ The tea is he said that if you “watch porn,” you won’t enter heaven. Speaking of his hypocrisy and being exposed, his username was “RBayDiscreet,” who is listed as a #VersBottom. 😳 ________________________________________ And that’s not all the tea sis! After reading your synopsis/review of Lost in the White City I googled it and then had to chuckle at the first 2 reviews I found from MambaOnline and The Independent Critic. Clearly cases of "it's super pretentious so quick act like we understand and like it." Though at least I now know where the gifs of Bob coming out of the ocean are from.
Like, in all fairness to that film it’s possible that if you’re someone who is really into film and cinema and shit like that it may have spoken to you.  I am violently allergic to Pretentious Dude Movies About Some Dude’s Boner so I was not impressed but idk it’s possible that some critics thought it was making a deep point (and who knows?  Maybe it was.)  But god it was pretentious and painful to watch if you’re like me and think The Mummy (1999) is the high point of modern cinema.

Brenda Fassie: South African lesbian icon immortalised in comic book
Brenda Fassie: South African lesbian icon immortalised in comic book
Tumblr media
Beukes knew from her first book, Maverick, a pop history on women in the country, that there were many who could fit the bill for Femme Magnifique. “I had many to choose from, from Lilian Ngoyi to Ruth First, Krotoa Eva and Sara Baartman. “But Brenda Fassie worked on so many levels, as a provocative pop star, as a lesbian icon [she came out on Mambaonline in 2003], as a black woman who lived…
