My dream for the election is that it’s definitive. I want a 2012-style Election Day where everyone built it up beforehand to possibly be close but then the results start rolling in and it was like “Oh, nevermind. It’s obviously Obama. Everyone go to bed.”
I just want voters to put a stake right through the heart of Trumpism so that it crumbles to ash before our eyes. That’s the dream.

old habits die screaming
Gale/Madge, rated M. Chapter 3 (of 4)
Things stayed casual after that. Gale wasn’t looking for anything serious, he said, and Madge had never done the casual thing before and felt like it was worth a shot. Sometimes Gale would text, sometimes she would. She liked spending time with him, but in their conversations she found out just enough about his past with Katniss—messy, long, and maybe not-quite-over—for her to know that anything more serious would just end up breaking her heart. Or at least, that was what she told herself. The truth was, every hour she spent with him was a little more dangerous. Gale fascinated her, and the his touch left her trembling. But worse than that, she liked talking to him. He could be funny in a sharp, dry sort of way, and his intelligence bled through in everything he said. Madge had to keep it casual, because otherwise, she’d fall for him. And she nearly pulled it off.

old habits die screaming
Gale/Madge, rated M. Chapter One.
“Ma, where are the keys?” a deep voice called, and Madge was standing up and turning, her heart in her stomach, before she even fully placed it. She hadn’t seen him in years—two years, six months, to be exact—and she’d finally gotten used to that. So for him to show up here—no. It couldn’t be. But then her blue eyes found his grey ones and her stomach finished its plummet. He froze too, utterly motionless while two slightly younger versions of him—and a teenage girl who could only be his sister—swirled around him. He must have just come from work, since his dark slacks and white button down were hardly moving clothes, but he’d taken off the tie she knew he must have worn, and his shirt was rolled up to his elbows. God, she hated him. And she wanted him. Maybe as much as she hated him.

old habits die screaming (chapter two)
Gale/Madge, rated M.
Three Years Ago Madge had on her best Please Hit On Me outfit—tight black dress, sky high heels, bright red lipstick—but so far, she was striking out. She was starting to think maybe Marvel had been right, maybe she was a frigid bitch, maybe there was something broken in her. And then she caught his eye. He was with several people who looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t quite place them. It wasn’t until two months later that she managed to piece it together—he’d gone to high school in her town, but on the wrong side of the tracks. Madge had gone to the fancy private school on the rich end of town, and it wasn’t like they had much to do with the Seam kids, but she had probably seen them around town.  Across the bar, he grinned. Or maybe it was just in her recollection that he grinned; he wasn’t much for smiles. But he’d looked at her in a way that felt like a smile, and she told Delly she was going to go see if she couldn’t reel him in. “You look like you’re out for revenge," he said.
