Note
They're also up to something, judging by the way they look at each other.
Poppa/Momma body type, pls?
Tumblr media
They're both short(ish) and stout. Still very strong tho! They've got an entire career of hard work behind them.

"Len! Welcome home, sweetpea. Where's my Jimmy?"
Leonard McCoy knows better than to roll his eyes at his mama, less he'd like a strict talking to. That doesn't mean he won't do it behind her back as she swallows him into a hug. He melts into it without shame, 'cause it's been too damned long since he's gotten a well and proper hug from his mother. She's smaller than she used to be, he thinks, her head tucked perfectly beneath his chin; and hell, if he hasn't missed her.
Then, as if God and his mama were both out to embarrass him, Jimmy himself peers into the kitchen wearing a wide grin. His mama leans away and delivers Leonard one of her knowing smirks, one that seems to say that of course, as soon as they landed themselves a shore leave close to Earth, he'd be at her front door with none other than Captain Kirk in tow.
"Emily, it's been like, a million years!" exclaims Jim, who practically elbows Leonard out of the way to wrap his mother up in a hug of his own. No surprise there. The two of them have always been as thick as thieves, ever since Len had introduced them that first year in the academy. That was the day Len knew he was lucky to have such a woman as his mama. She had taken one look at Jim and had decided right then and there that she'd love him heart and soul--since no one else had seemed to put in the effort.
(He doesn't let himself think about how he'd done the same, on that fateful shuttle ride out of Iowa.)
"You better not be callin' me old, Jim Kirk," his mother teases, cupping Jim's face with all the care in the world.
"You? Old? C'mon, you know you don't look a day over nineteen."
Jim's smile is warm, holding her delicate wrists steady. Len leans against the counter, his own smile too complicated to express with words.
He could try with feelings, maybe.
Pride. Love.
"Always such a charmer, isn't he Len?" asks Mama, who swats at Jim's chest. She's then got that fond look on her face, the one she saves for when she's especially proud of her children. "And a Captain now, to boot. Oh, I knew you'd make it, darlin'. I am so damned proud of you, Captain Kirk."
And oh, something in Len's heart cracks at the expression on Jim's face. Jim's eyes, as blue as the sea, start to flood with unshed emotion, and his smile trembles into something fragile. Len remembers meeting Winona Kirk properly only once--a huge contrast in comparison to Jim and Emily McCoy, who bought each other Christmas presents and emailed back and forth regularly.
It'd been at their graduation ceremony, albeit briefly. Winona Kirk had shaken Jim's hand as if he were some one-off cadet, rather than her youngest baby, then had done the same to everyone assigned to the bridge under Jim's command.
Thank God for Emily McCoy, he thinks, just as Jim shoots him a look. Words can't describe that one, either, but if Len were to try and guess with feelings again... He'd say it ain't nothing short of love.

Tumblr media
The fear I can understand 😆 it's the other bit that confuses me lol, according to Netflix someone is getting down and dirty with our favorite silicon based lifeform 🔥🪨

Mama McCoy
After a bit of rough travel scrapes him up, Cooper returns to duty. He feels a bit off, a bit lost. He eventually finds himself back at Sickbay, and McCoy clues in fast. Cooper surprises them both by seeking out the caregiver's attention, and even more so when Cooper finally calls him something other than "McCoy" "Bones" or "Len".
Word count: 1,464
Cooper tries to not pick at the still-healing skin on his arm. It itches, feels prickly even. It's not really unusual for wound fixed up by a dermal regenerator to feel that way - depending on the size of the injury, it fades fast.
He was dismissed from sickbay nearly three hours ago. The injury hadn't been deep, just wide across his forearm where the metal had scraped across his arm when the ship was jostled. Yellow alert - who knew space had turbulence? Well- it didn't, not really. But between debris, ion-or-whatever else storms, space flight wasn't always smooth. Especially not out here, where most exploration hadn't happened yet.
"Ensign?"
Cooper blinked, pulling himself back to the present. One of the senior officers raised an eyebrow at him.
"You back with us?"
Cooper nods. The senior officer pauses, as if expecting some sort of verbal response, but Cooper doesn't quite have those words. They feel a bit lost, almost. Scrambled somewhere between his head and his throat.
"...Right. Well - we're set here in security. Mr. Scott was wanting to ask if you'd mind going down to engineering, offering them an extra hand."
He... doesn't really want to. But Cooper nods again, ignores the eye-roll sent his way when he doesn't say anything, and steps out into hall.
It's nothing urgent or overly complicated in Engineering - really, Cooper doesn't even need to be there. But Scotty had been trying to convince them to swap their assignment to the engineering department, and the chief engineer took any chance to snag the ensign's time. Things are over and done with within the hour.
They feel a bit lost, shuffling back into the halls. Cooper scratches at their arm again, through the sleeve. They don't want to irritate the freshly healed skin.
Ward's busy - had been practically bouncing off the walls to finish compiling data about some rare weather phenomenon about the planet they were heading towards. Supposedly, it was perfect conditions for some sort of storm that had yet to be recorded with accuracy, let alone observation.
Cade's busy too - he's taken up a role on the bridge. Charting the things they find along their path, as some sort of heads-up or whatever to travel paths. Something like that.
"Cooper?"
He blinks again as his name is called. He'd wandered a bit more than expected, back towards sickbay rather than the space he shared with Ward.
"Hey- Coop?"
Right. McCoy's standing in front of him, an eyebrow raised questioningly.
"...Why don't you come in."
McCoy takes his arm, and Cooper lets him. He doesn't grumble in protest or pull away. He doesn't miss the brow-furrowed side-eye of concern he gets either.
When McCoy gestures for him to sit down on the couch of his office, Cooper just takes a little side-step closer. They look away, nibbling at their lip, not wanting to see if McCoy's expression turns towards careful denial. Cooper's not surprised to hear the sounds of a tricorder - they'd be shocked if McCoy didn't want to scan them.
"No injury we missed earlier. Just some fairly usual readings for you - a bit tired, a bit stressed."
McCoy's voice is quiet and steady, and it softens ever so slightly. This is uncharted territory for them both, really. Cooper rarely seeks out McCoy's attention. Ward's usually there when he does.
"...Hey."
Cooper shifts slightly, still not looking at McCoy. But he hesitantly reaches out, fumbles a bit until he curls his hand into McCoy's shirt. McCoy pauses, as if to let Cooper decide that's what they wanted to do, and then his hand settles slightly on Cooper's back.
"Would you like me to walk you back to your quarters?" McCoy offers, quiet and without expectation. Cooper doesn't answer right away, and so McCoy continues, "Would you like to come sit with me? I was just catching up on some reading."
Cooper tugs wordlessly at McCoy's shirt, and it's taken as a yes. McCoy reaches over to pull the blanket off the back of his office couch, guides them both to sit down in the corner.
Cooper keeps his eyes away the whole time, as if looking at McCoy will somehow ruin the moment. His boots are gently tugged off and he's pulled down onto the couch - onto McCoy's lap. He immediately presses his face into the doctor's shoulder, and McCoy simply lays the blanket over Cooper.
It takes a few moments for the tension to start to bleed out of him, until Cooper finally heaves a heavy sigh and relaxes. McCoy simply hums in response, a hand slowly rubbing circles onto Cooper's back as the caregiver continues to read.
"..Mh."
"Hm?" McCoy pauses in his reading, looking down at Cooper. He waits a few moments, but Cooper's back to being quiet. He gets through another few paragraphs before there's a slight shift from Cooper. This time, it's a slight tug at McCoy's shirt.
"Yeah, Coops?"
McCoy's voice is soft and quiet - the whole room is, really. Cooper had expected to feel out of place in McCoy's office, but McCoy was warm and comfortable. Cooper shifts, reluctant to change that.
"If you need something, that's okay." McCoy says encouragingly, but words still feel like a bit much. He tugs at McCoy's shirt again with a small noise, but doesn't look up. Doesn't say anything else. The caregiver always seems like he can read Ward's mind - can't he do the same for Cooper?
"...Hm." McCoy hums thoughtfully, setting down his PADD for a moment. "Coop, can you look up just for a bit?"
It takes a few moments of coaxing, but Cooper does finally peek just a bit. Not up at McCoy, but he can still see what the other is doing.
"Do you want-" McCoy pauses, gesturing with his hand. Cooper frowns, trying to figure out what McCoy is doing before it hits them. Hand wide open, clenching into a fist. Relax, repeat.
Milk. McCoy is signing "milk". Not in Standard Sign Language, but in Baby Sign Language. Ward had gotten bored, had convinced Cooper to learn it along side him, and then the other literally never used it. But Cooper did - mostly to himself.
He didn't know McCoy had noticed.
"Coo-"
"Mmmm-" The sound bubbles and out before Cooper can stop it- a warm, fuzzy feeling stirring in his stomach. McCoy had fed him once before- helped him make a bottle a few times, that Cooper took for himself into his room.
But something about McCoy sitting here, cradling him and signing an offer of "milk" just had Cooper feeling so- so-
He tugs at McCoy's shirt, whines softly to himself when McCoy shifts and gets up. But then McCoy is back before the warmth has a chance to fade, re-settling Cooper back into his lap, the blanket tucked around him.
"Shh-hhh-shh. There we go. You're okay." McCoy soothes, rubbing Cooper's back. He doesn't even hesitate, just settles the nib of the bottle against Cooper's lips, hums softly when the regressor takes it.
Cooper relaxes again, their eyes drooping slightly at the sweetened taste of the milk. There's additives in it - there always is, if McCoy can help it. He grumbles about everyone getting necessary vitamins and minerals whenever the option arises - from the captain to the newest ensign.
It was cozy. More cozy than Cooper usually allowed himself. He risks a peek up at McCoy, and his chest lurches to see just how soft McCoy looked. No frustration, not even a trace of irritation at his peace being disturbed after a yellow alert.
Cooper tugs at McCoy's shirt again, twisting his face away from the bottle. His lip wobbles slightly, and he can see the concern starting to form in McCoy's eyes.
Cooper brings a hand up, spreading their fingers. He hesitates and then quickly taps his thumb against his chin twice, tucking their hand back into the blankets.
There's a moment of silence. Neither of them move.
Then the nib of the bottle taps against Cooper's lip again, gentle and not forced.
"Mama, huh? S'alright, Coops. I don't mind bein' your mama, not if you want it." McCoy murmurs, voice low and soothing. Cooper muffles a whine into McCoy's shoulder.
"Shh- you're alright, lovebug. C'mon now, let mama give you the rest of this, alright? Then you can have a little rest, and I'll just read. Nothin' to it."
It takes a few more coaxing words from McCoy, but eventually Cooper takes the bottle back. They relax against McCoy, snuggled up in the blanket, letting their eyes droop more and more. They don't even notice when McCoy shifts the bottle away, tugs the blanket up a bit more. Cooper just heaves another sigh, as he drifts into a doze, supported by a hand on his back.

I’ll marry you
TOS Leonard McCoy x fem!reader
⚠️: reader dies in the end, reader is fem
word count: 903
“When I grow up, I’ll marry you” she said it all the time when they were young. She and Leonard grew up next door to each other. They were the best of friends and from the start a little bit more too. It was the innocent kind of love, the kind where they shared everything and would do anything for each other. If Leonard got a cookie from his mother he would always ask for a second and run off with them both. His mother never had any doubt of where that second cookie was going. —————— Age 5 “Hi Lenny!!” Y/N squealed as she saw Leonard running into her yard. “Hi Y/N!! Look I brought you a cookie!!” Leonard shouted, waving the second cookie over his head as he ran. “Really?” Y/N asked breathily, she knew Leonard loved his cookies, these weren’t just the store bought ones, these were the special ones that his mama only made once in a while. “Yeah, mama just made ‘em, they’re still warm!!!” He cheered, “oh I love you, you’re the best!” Y/N jumped around. “Wait here!!” Y/N called as she was already running into her own house. “Mom! Mom! Can I have two juices!??” Y/N bounded through the house. “What’s the second one for?” Her mother called from the kitchen, she knew of course but she still found it adorable. “Lenny brought me a cookie!! I wanna bring him a juice!” Y/N explained rapidly as she watched her mother open the fridge and pull out two juice boxes. As soon as she handed Y/N the juices, she darted for the door like her life depended on it. “Lenny, I’ve got juices!!” Y/N shouted in glee as she plopped down on the steps next to him. They traded one of each with each other and munched happily as the day came to a close. ————- Age 10 “Hey Lenny!” Y/N called as they got off the bus from school. Leonard looked over and nodded to show that she had his attention. “My mom said you can come over and watch a movie after dinner if it’s okay with your mama!” Y/N rushed in the same excited tone she generally kept, “Oh, I’ll run in and ask right now, wait there I’ll be right back” Leonard ordered. He ran in and dropped his school bag at the door, “Hey mama, is it okay if after dinner I go over to Y/N’s and watch a movie?” Leonard pried. “I don’t see why not, just be back by eight” his mother informed, “okay mama!” Leonard replied before running back out to tell Y/N the good news. “My mama said it’s alright, long as I’m back by eight!” He called as he hung out the door of his house, “Alright, see you then Lenny!” ————-
Age 15 “Hey Len, you see the new girl yet?” Y/N asked as she chewed her gum at her desk. “Nah, not yet. Why ya ask?” Leonard was quick reply from the desk next to her. “I dunno, I just hear a lot a people talkin bout her. Figured that if you’d seen her you might know what the fuss is about” Y/N explained as she swung one leg loosely over her desk. “Maybe, but I’m sure she’s not all that, she’s just new, new people are a big deal round here if you hadn’t noticed. Besides she’ll be in here soon just like the rest of us, then you can see what the fuss is for yourself” Leonard remarked. “Yeah, I guess” Y/N acknowledged with a soft sigh. “Don’t worry bout it, darlin I’m sure you’ll still be the prettiest girl around” Leonard assured her. “Flatterer” Y/N muttered to herself, “I heard that” Leonard lamented “Good” Y/N mocked. ————- Age 16 Y/N and Leonard walked down the street to a cafe. “Did you catch what the math homework was” Leonard questioned, “Not even a little, I’m pretty sure I was asleep” Y/N admitted. “That explains the snoring” Leonard noted “I do not snore!” Y/N contested. “I know, just messing with ya” Leonard conceded. “Cross here” Y/N informed, looking back at Leonard as she crossed. “Wait!” Leonard reached for her, but he wasn’t quick enough and neither was the driver who stomped on his breaks just a little too late. Leonard rushed to her as the man got out of his car. “Call 911!” He urged the stranger as he held Y/N. “Hang in there, remember you said you would marry me. You gotta live long enough for us to have the best wedding” Leonard pleaded softly as he held Y/N, who fought to keep her eyes open. “Just know that I would have said I do” Y/N let out in a brittle voice. “You’ll make it, you can tell me you do later” Leonard protested the idea that she wouldn’t be there to tell him that herself. “Love ya Len” Y/N sighed softly and closed her eyes. She had stopped, stopped talking, stopped breathing, stopped. The sirens wailed around him, but it didn’t matter, just like Leonard and the driver, they were too late too. Everything around him was a flurry but all he could think was that she loved him. She really loved him, not just the cutesy kind after he would give her a cookie when they were five, but she really loved him and he never got to say it back.

“Well, hello.” Raze definitely is looking Henry up and down with no discretion whatsoever. He likes big furry mutants by the name of McCoy, almost universally. “You worked with my Mama once. With Obsborn. And I hear you’re really good at genetics. You take commissions?”
Tumblr media
It wasn't every day that McCoy caught someone looking at him like he was the test subject. That meant that the conversation was probably going to be interesting. And interesting amused him greatly. Especially when said party probably had little idea of his full capabilities.
McCoy slid away from his desk and studied the blue mutant. Even if McCoy knew nothing about this man, decerning his parentage was absurdly simple.
"Ah, so you're the time-traveling young man. Raisin, is it?"
Tumblr media
"Yes. I remember working with your mother. It was a cushy job with ample resources and the worst teammates I could have ever asked for. Osborn's lackluster reputation and less-than-savory goals had him asking me to be his lead scientist, because -- as you so eloquently put it -- I'm 'really good' at genetics."
At the sound of 'commission,' the gray man's ears perked.
Tumblr media
"It depends on the work. My time is very precious to me. When I am given something interesting to work on, something I can really sink my teeth into...you'll find that I am very flexible with my compensation. But if you ask me for something tedious, I may still say yes, but it will cost you."
Henry's grin widened into something far more terrifying than the bits of blood splattered on his lab coat.
"Tell me, just how attached are you to mommy dearest?"

Gonna try and summarize the overarching plot of No Evil as I rewatch, maybe that will finally make Quetzalcoatl/Xolotl, the White Tezcatlipoca, Angel, the deer and the lion, the mirrors, Scowleyow, etc., etc. make sense:
Episode 1-9: Long ago, the Black Tezcatlipoca was trapped in a mirror, along with the White, Red, and Blue Tezcatlipocas. But Tlaloc's tuning fork broke the mirror and the Black Tezcatlipoca was freed. Everything it touched was put to sleep, until the four spirits Xochipili, Xochiquetzal, Ixtlilton, and Xipe Totec made a contract with the Black Tezcatlipoca, giving up their hearing, voice, sight, and eternal life in return for its imprisonment. It was imprisoned in four pieces, three held by Xochipili, Xochiquetzal, and Ixtlilton, and one held inside the Red Tezcatlipoca (the Judgement Scythe). 19 years later, Tlaloc's tuning fork is rediscovered by the spirits Chalchiutlique (Calamity) and Ichabod (Icky).
10: A piece of the black ick has been freed and is once again putting people to sleep. The contract was perfect, the black ick should all have been sealed away. But the freed pieces of the black ick either don't know about the contract, or have been told that the contract is void. We find this out when the spirit Vinkle is touched by the black ick and falls asleep. Icky, Huehuecoyotl (Huey), and Calamity want to recreate the contract in miniature with the help of water (a mirror, like what originally trapped the black ick), an egg (a sacrifice [in which to trap/neutralize the black ick?]), and the hummingbird constellation (why, I don't know). They need the aid of Quetzalcoatl (Corn, a healer/shaman) for this to work. They successfully heal Vinkle and the black ick is neutralized.
11: The black ick attacks the villages Hatfield and McCoy. The spirits try to help McCoy, but are not allowed to because one of them (Huey) is friends with the people of Hatfield. Calamity and Paula distract the townsfolk while Wrip, Vinkle, and Corn sneak in to heal the sick.
12: In the last few episodes we have occasionally seen a stitched-together girl (Angel/Ozma Angeline) examining the spirits. Now, she has kidnapped Kajortoq (Kitty) and brought her to Mictlan, a place in-between life and death. Angel wants Kitty to be a surrogate mother for an 11-year-old human (Charles) who has ended up in Mictlan. Amaroq, a spirit who used to be friends with our main cast, but is NOT anymore, is also in Mictlan. Paula and Ichabod rescue Kitty. We see Charles with Ixtlilton's piece of the Black Tezcatlipoca - he breaks it, and it absorbs into his body.
13: Ichabod is trying to figure out how Tlaloc's tuning fork works. When Calamity uses it, it controls water. When Icky uses it, it controls lightning. Also Hatfield wants to sic a pack of chupacapra on McCoy's jackalopes but nothing comes of it lol.
14: The kids of Hatfield and McCoy are fighting. Wrip and Vinkle tell them the story of Mahtigwess and Lusifee, a story of a bobcat hunting a rabbit, who is repeatedly tricked by the rabbit's illusions until, eventually, the rabbit cuts off his tail and he gives up.
15: Amaroq tries to kidnap Corn but is stopped by the sudden appearance of Xochipili.
16: Xochiquetzal is spirited away to Mictlan. Charles tries to take her piece of the Black Tezcatlipoca but fails repeatedly and lets her go.
17: Xochipili exposits: The Blue Tezcatlipoca (the Liberation Machete) is held in Mama Spider's temple. The machete can destroy enchantments and "cut the bonds of magic," possibly including the sleeping sickness of the Black Tezcatlipoca. Neither spirits nor mortals can touch the Blue Tezcatlipoca. And that's why Xochipili, Xochiquetzal, Ixtlilton, and Xipe Totec sealed away the Black Tezcatlipoca instead of just destroying it - because they haven't yet found a non-spirit, non-mortal who can wield the Blue Tezcatlipoca. Xochipili then says that he and Ixtlilton were supposed to meet in Hollow, but Ixtlilton never showed, and that he hoped the other spirits could help find him. Huey uses Tlaloc's tuning fork, which creates a finding/tracking spell, revealing Ixtlilton asleep inside a mound of crystallized black ick.
18: Charles can partially control the black ick. He can infect things with it, but he can uninfect them. He's mad that Corn (and Xochipili) can uninfect them. Charles attacks Hatfield and McCoy, indiscriminately, with the black ick. He pretends to be a regular kid and gets close enough to Xochipili to steal his piece of the Black Tezcatlipoca, trapping him in crystallized black ick. Wrip saw Charles, but only from the back.
19: The spirits agree to seek out the last pieces of the Black Tezcatlipoca before Charles can get them; the one on Xochiquetzal and the one inside the Red Tezcatlipoca. Kitty, Calamity, and Corn seek the one in the Red, held in a temple down South. But first they, along with Icky and Paula, stop in Hollow to meet with Xochiquetzal. Huey, Wrip, and Vinkle stay behind, along with Tlaloc's tuning fork. It's revealed that the black ick can't cross water.
20: Corn is overwhelmed by the amount of people in Hollow. Corn meets Charles and tells him about Xochiquetzal. Charles tries to infect Corn but is bitten. In the confusion, Kitty tells corn to heal Charles, not knowing who he is, and Corn does so.
21: Yet again, Angel accosts Kitty about becoming a mother figure for Charles. Kitty refuses on the grounds that Charles is a killer, but Angel insists that no one infected by the black ick is dead. According to her, Charles has promised to free everyone once he has every piece of the Black Tezcatlipoca. Kitty claims that Corn and Xochipili won't be able to heal people of the black ick once all the pieces are freed. At the same time Charles is trying to trick Calamity into letting him meet Corn - she doesn't know for sure that he's the Charles who's been infecting everyone, but she's suspicious and tells Kitty as much.
22: Ichabod runs into an old friend from school (Clark), who doesn't know he's a spirit. Ichabod doesn't want him to know he's a spirit.
23: Kitty and Calamity are out looking for the kid they suspect is Charles. They run into Sheriff Bass, who's looking for Corn (because biting random people is not allowed). Xochiquetzal shows up at Tlaloc's fountain, where Charles attacks her, Icky, and Paula. Calamity and Kitty come to their rescue, but Icky is infected because he refuses to break his human disguise. Xochiquetzal teleports Charles back to Mictlan. They heal all citizens of Hollow but are unable to heal Icky.
24: Two kids from Hatfield and McCoy (Emily and Edmonia, respectively) end up in Mictlan
25: Kitty, Paula, and Xochiquetzal are trying to figure out how to heal Icky, but they have to leave Hollow because sheriff Bass is after Corn. Calamity exposits: Hollow was once the home of Tlaloc and the mirror where the Black Tezcatlipoca was trapped. People called "the industrial men" came to town to study the mirror. The industrial men believe that spirits are just humans who've learned how to do magic and they want the spirits' powers. Kitty, Calamity, and Corn leave Hollow, leaving Paula, Xochiquetzal, and Icky behind.
26: Clark brings Paula, Xochiquetzal, and Icky to Vineyard Institute, a school/university/lab owned by the industrialized men. One of them (Doctor Rush) prevents the others from experimenting on Icky. He then tells Xochiquetzal about Blackwell Asylum where "the people who don't flourish the expected way," including people he believes could help Icky, are held. Xochipili brings every captive at from Blackwell to Vineyard with her teleportation powers.
27: Amaroq admonishes Charles for going after Corn on his own and grounds him. Then Amaroq kicks Emily and Edmonia out of Mictlan. Then Huey enters Mictlan. Amaroq needs a fucking break.
28: We see how Huey ended up in Mictlan. Amaroq kicks Huey out of Mictlan. Charles has run away from home.
29: Sheriff Bass, Calamity, Kitty, and Corn are talking in Kitty's tent. Calamity tells Bass about Charles. They go to bed and Corn has a nightmare about an axolotl spirit and Charles. He wakes up Calamity who goes out to check if Charles is there. She finds him, they try to kill each other, both escape. Charles considers returning to Mictlan but doesn't want to face Amaroq.
30: Angel is mad at Charles for leaving but leaves out food and blankets for him so he doesn't starve/freeze to death. The industrialized men are experimenting on black ick and have discovered that it can't cross any liquid, not just water, and it always has to touch a solid. Charles sneaks into Vineyard.
31: Backstory time: Icky has a long history of getting shamed for being superstitious and 'weird'. Icky is very insecure. Also the concept of aliens exists in people's minds.
32: Amaroq is in Hollow, searching for Charles. Sheriff Bass is sent to Hollow's traditional district to investigate the disappearance of the Blackwell Asylum inmates (most of whom are from the traditional district). Amaroq overhears this and sets out for the Vineyard Institute. Meanwhile, Doctor Rush is realizing that the traditional people from the asylum are no help in solving the problem of the black ick. Charles suddenly attacks the Vineyard Institute, trapping everyone in black ick, including Xochiquetzal. Amaroq arrives just in time to see him absorbing her piece of the Black Tezcatlipoca. Charles still can't remove the black ick, but he can create spiders made of black ick now. Amaroq flees and tell Sheriff Bass what he's seen.
33: Huey, Wrip, and Vinkle go to Mictlan. We see Amaroq's tragic backstory - he was a child of McCoy and was incredibly abused by them.
34: Kitty, Calamity, and Corn arrive down south at the city of Metztli. They keep traveling on to Tonaltzintli. Charles' tragic backstory + more tragic backstory for Amaroq. Charles was a child of both Hatfield and McCoy and was abandoned as a baby. Angel picked him up before he could die and Amaroq, wishing to escape McCoy, followed them into Mictlan.
35: Amaroq seeks out Kitty, Calamity, and Corn to ask for help with Charles. Amaroq reveals that the entire reason he and Charles sought out the Black Tezcatlipoca was so they could scare Hatfield and McCoy into quitting their feud. Calamity suggest killing Charles and Amaroq. Kitty suggests bringing Amaroq along to Tonaltzintli. To stay in Tonaltzintli you must fire the Mercy Bow (the White Tezcatlipoca) which is currently protected (though not wielded) by Xipe Totec. Kitty and Calamity are not wielders of the White Tezcalipoda. Corn and Amaroq never fire it. Then Charles arrives, covering everything and everyone in black ick, with the exception of Kitty who was standing in water. Kitty and Charles break the Red Tezcatlipoca, freeing the Black Tezcatlipoca. The Red Tezcatlipoca severs Charle's right arm and left fingers. It wants to kill everyone but Kitty subdues it and is now its wielder. Charles has all four pieces of the Black Tezcatlipoca. Also Huey is here now.
36: Charles is bleeding to death. Kitty says she'll help him if he frees everyone from the black ick, which he does - including Xipe Totec who was trapped in crystallized ick. He struggles to free Amaroq but eventually manages. Calamity and Huey go looking for Corn. Corn is acting very weird, being sociable and calm. His human form also has a new haircut and different facial markings.
37: Corn is playing ball with some kids when he's hit and the face and momentarily passes out. We see the axolotl again, seemingly trying to break out. Whenever Corn passes by a mirror we see the axolotl. Everyone else can see it too. Corn wants it to go away forever.
38: Kitty asks Charles to fix the temple that was destroyed when they broke the Red Tezcatlipoca. Charles is attacked by the axolotl who can travel on the black ick, like he travels in mirrors and water. Right after the axolotl disappears, Corn enters the room. They all (Charles, Kitty, Calamity, Amaroq, Corn, and Huey) travel back to Hollow, making Charles free everyone trapped by black ick, including Ixtlilton, Xochipili, and Xochiquetzal. Charles is suddenly spirited away to Mama Spider's web. She gives him one of Tlaloc's inventions, clothes meant to contain the magic of the Black Tezcatlipoca.
39: Summary here. Also Corn is taken into prison and Charles gets a magical girl transformation via Mama Spider's gift.
40: Corn is moved to Blackwell Asylum. The axolotl continues to haunt his mirror image. In reference to his mirror image, Corn states that he has "rid himself of his negative qualities."
41: A couple kids from Hollow and Hatfield (Edmonia, Emily, Frida, and Jose) want to bring their towns closer together.
42: Kitty, Icky, and Charles go to break Corn out of prison. The staff of Vineyard have been imprisoned too, but since many of them are actually citizens of Salem, they'd have to go to Salem to argue for their release. A nurse at Blackwell forces Corn to touch his reflection as part of his 'treatment', and he switches place with the axolotl. A tornado is immediately summoned over Blackwell Asylum.
43: Kitty, Icky, Charles, and Clark go to Salem. They travel through Mictlan because it's faster and, while there, Clark steals a leaf from Mictlan. When they get to Salem, Clark files paperwork to free the prisoners in Hollow. Clark returns to Hollow. Kitty, Icky, and Charles return to Tonaltzintli.
44: Calamity and Amaroq want to break Corn out of Blackwell, but there's a tornado in the way. The enter through Mictlan. There are mirrors in every hallway of Blackwell and every resident and staff member is hiding. Calamity sees Corn in a mirror. Corn talks to Calamity: "Being forced to fire the Mercy Bow was the breaking point. I don't wanna hurt anyone anymore so I sealed him back. [Who?] The me that wants to hurt. I tied him back. And everything would've been fine if people stopped trying to bring him back out. He really hates you, by the way. [Aaw, I hate you too.] No, he does. And he's, well, swapped places with me. I see everything he sees. He sees everything I see." The axolotl then attacks Calamity. Amaroq rescues Calamity, bringing her to Tonaltzintli via Mictlan. The bring the Mercy Bow back to Blackwell, thinking it may be able to put Corn and the axolotl back together. Corn says: "I'm sure the Mercy Bow had mercy on me and everyone around me by banishing him to the mirrors. Why should I undo it?" The axolotl grabs the bow, shoots Corn in the mirror, and they immediately swap places. Corn, now fully a snake (without arms) sheds his skin, which looks like the skin of an axolotl. The axolotl in the mirror is no longer in nagual form and Corn is now only in nagual form.
45: Clark experiments on the leaf he took from Mictlan, realizing that it's a "facsimile of a leaf, as though a child wished to build a tree with paper." Clark is suddenly spirited back to Mictlan.
46: The Hollow/Hatfield kids are still trying to bring their towns together. They end up in Mictlan. They rescue Clark and some other guy from a Deadly Desert (as in Wizard of Oz). Clark, Emily, and the guy end up in Salem. Edmonia, Frida, and Jose end up somewhere else.
47: Jose ended up in Wrip's basement, where he finds a shiny golden spike (a railway spike?). He steals it. Calamity and Amaroq visit Corn (still in nagual form), trying to get him to take care of their jackalope because no one else has time. Jose runs into them and Corn tries to trick him into taking care of the jackalope. Jose touches Corn with the golden spike (a reflective surface), and he trades places with the axolotl. The axolotl (still in human form) takes care of the jackalope, crying all the while. When the job is done, they touch him with the spike and he once again trades places with Corn.
48: Frida ended up in a bricked-up room with a clockwork/wind-up soldier (as in Wizard of Oz) The clockwork mechanism has Arabic numbers, not Aztec numbers. The wind-up soldier breaks them out and a guy with glowing eyes threatens them with a gun.
49: Edmonia ended up at Huey's house. Huey, Ixtlilton, Xochiquetzal, and Xochipili are discussing the Blue and White Tezcatlipocas. Huey uses the tuning fork to track down Edmonia's friends, but accidentally leaves behind Edmonia and the triplets in Tonaltzintli. Charles is doing community service. Charles doesn't want to do community service. Edmonia fires the mercy bow; she is not the wielder.
50: Clark is invited to meet the leader of Salem (Scowleyow, as in Wizard of Oz). The camera pans through the city, showing railways, and then through Scowleyow's home (Briarwood House), showing a mural, discussed in the notes of this post. Scowleyow is clearly not human - he might be a sprite, the same kind of being as Angel. Clark and Emily are invited to stay at Briarwood House. There are reflective surfaces everywhere in Briarwood. Scowleyow says that the violet wing (the one with a mural depicting Wrip and Vinkle) is his favorite wing. Scowleyow really wants the golden spike. Huey is also here.

Continued from (x): @gutrage
It's a chilling look that Logan shoots him, all primal animality and vehemence, charged and annoyed, the kind of glare that would have the students running for the hills . . . but Henry P. McCoy is, by now, as much an expert in blithe indifference to those who could kill him as he is in genetics, biophysics, electrical engineering, etcetera, etcetera.
So, off the look plinks into the alien underbrush, deflected by the eccentric genius' knowledge that Logan is merely being his cantankerous self - and the silent assurance that, if it does come down to a scrap, he can more than hold his own.
Tumblr media
"In case you needed a reminder, my exacts words were, 'don't be surprised, Logan, if you find something cute and defenceless that attaches itself to you while we're out there. If it happens on Earth as often as it does - and it happens very often - then there's no reason it shouldn't happen out there, in that final frontier.'"
His tone is one of idle amusement and merriment - in the days following Charles' death, smiles have been in very short supply indeed, and while he doubts Logan appreciates him smiling at his discomfort, well, he can't really help it.
The Wolverine simply cannot help but pick up strays. Some things are noted constants, regardless of the planet you happened to be frequenting at the time.

Flicking open his translator, Hank thumbed through all the major galactic languages that he'd downloaded from the S.W.O.R.D database, wondering if he might get a ping for whatever the little tykes were speaking. Galactic Basic, no; High Skrull, more like Highly Unlikely; Debased Kree, perhaps? Shi'ar Prime, definitely not, although? Merchant-Slang Majesdanian . . . he'd leave that one running, just in case. It had come in useful before, after all.
"You may not be mama, but have you considered that you may, in fact, be papa? Not the step-papa, but the papa that stepped up, so to speak?" Hank's entirely too amused at Logan's discomfort with the beasties swarming him, even as he consults his X-PDA to cross-reference their location with the map.
Tumblr media
He's capable of multi-tasking, he can laugh and be useful at the same time.
"Besides, it may not have crossed your mind just yet, but does it not occur to you that you're fulfilling the X-Men's mission statement right now? The promotion of mutantkind, the protection of the innocent and the defenceless . . . granted, I don't know if Charles ever thought it would quite look like this." He gestured up at the incredible alien flora and fauna that surrounds them, dearly wishing he had time to conduct a full xenobiological survey and take samples - but, they were on the clock. And they needed a direction in which to head.
Tumblr media
"🎶 There's no earthly way of knowing, which direction we are going, there's no knowing where we're rowing, or which way the river's flowing, is it raining, is it snowing . . . 🎶"
Tumblr media
He clicked his fingers, pointing east.
"Our destination, Logan. Give or take fifty meters, I'd say."
