Oh hello friends I've been busy. Also tired, but busy working on something I'm very excited about.

I wrote a level 20 Greatwyrm slaying adventure, inspired by Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, and am currently play testing the module. In order to run the adventure you'll need access to the PHB, MM, and FtoD, but the mod itself is going to be free. When done, it'll include somewhere between 6-10 custom drawn maps, about 25 custom drawn tokens, 3 NPCs built with personalities and stat blocks, and a pdf with everything you'd need to run this adventure.

It's built so it can be run as a oneshot or a 6-session adventure, you choose! Each part of the adventure is modular, so you can either swap in and out what you/your players have time for, or play the whole thing. And like I said, it'll be 100% free, I'll be putting in on KoFi or something similar to distribute it but I won't charge a cent for it.

So that's where I've been, and why it's been a hot minute since I've uploaded any art. This has been a project about a year in the making, as I've had time between my day job to pick at it. I'm not sure EXACTLY when it'll be ready for release, but it should be ready before the years end.

The working titles for this adventure are "Slaying Adatok" and "The Paragon of Shatterpeak," not sure which one I'll go with if either of them, but expect to see more as time goes on and as I get through my playtesting rounds!

Born to Explore! 

Malotz Arykethen - a cartographer with an itch for travel. He’s a lover of people and cultures, and believes that each map he makes is nothing short of a love letter to a place he’s visited. While in Agaras, he was forced to reconcile with his past when he found out his father was taken as a political prisoner, and eventually apologized for running away and completely disregarding his family. Malotz still doesn’t care for politics and makes a point to live off only what money is necessary, but the wounds associated with worrying his family were finally allowed to heal over.

I don’t really upload WIPs very often, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt for once. Here’s some tarot card WIPs I’ve had kicking around for a while that I just tied down tonight! 

I had made a list of all the PCs and a bunch of NPCs to fill out all of the Major Arcana, but seeing as it’s been a year since I’ve picked this project up, I doubt ill have the energy for a whole deck. I did want to at least get the PCs + our DMs favorite NPC on the docket, though. I have ideas on how I want to render these out but for now they’ll exist as just these sketches. 

These characters specifically are from the Agaras campaign, in order - Malotz, Schmendrick, Gresh’am, Lyrshel, Alikeri, Cullpepper, and Cartwright.

In late 2020 through early 2021 I played Malotz in what I can only describe as an INCREDIBLY emotionally charged dungeons and dragons game. This sort of mini comic represented a turning point for me.

The earring is from an NPC Malotz had been in close contact with and... long story short, it was his fault that this big wolf creature got ahold of him and murdered him. Malotz fights with this guilt for the rest of the campaign. 

You’ll have to excuse the scribblyness of the end I didnt have the energy to really finish it haha. Big campaign moment tho!

It’s pretty traumatic when you find your father has been kidnapped by political interests after not seeing him for 5 years huh???

First three drawings happened in the span of maybe 2 in-game hours, the last two were separate events. One where Aelar was trying to convince Malotz to not throw his life away trying to take down a Lich (we had a p gnarly big bad) and the last one was right after Malotz saved him from nearly getting kidnapped a second time. Really emotionally charged campaign for Malotz I gotta be real.

Early memories for Malotz. Caleb is 11 years older than him, so he was almost a third parent. 

And I like the thought that Aelar genuinely tried to be a good parent, just sometimes your wishes for your children pushes them away instead. Lots of fun complicated feelings we got to explore in the campaign.
