Excerpts from Tom Phllips' A Humument, an altered version of the novel A Human Document by W H Mallock.
Phllips on the book:
It is a forgotten Victorian novel found by chance … plundered, mined, and undermined its text to make it yield the ghosts of other possible stories, scenes, poems and replaced the text [he'd] stripped away with visual images of all kinds.
It was also adapted into a 1969 opera titled Irma with the help of Gavin Bryars and Fred Orton, about which Michael Nyman wrote:
Phillips suggests that perhaps one should treat the indications in the score 'as if they were the only surviving fragments of an ancient opera, or fragments of eye and ear witnesses' accounts of such', and, given no knowledge of the performance tradition of the time, one should reconstruct a hypothetical whole which would accommodate them economically, 'would be an appropriate basis of approach to a production'.

The trek through Pirate’s Cove was as long and uneventful as the twins had warned it would be. They didn’t speak much the first day or so; Cary and Alastar were still reeling from the shock of discovering their king had sent an assassin after them. By noon of the third day, Emmet decided he couldn’t take any more of the silence. Still intrigued by the tale of Bath-El’s disappearance, he thought another story would be the perfect way to pass the time as they hiked. “What else do you know about Bath-El?” he finally asked.
Ahead of them, Cary rolled his eyes, but didn’t shush them.
Vitruvius hummed to himself as he thought. “From what I’ve read in historical records and the glimpses I’ve been able to catch during my scrying, it was a beautiful city built of sparkling pale brown stone. Many of those records also recount how the city took pride in their gardens. One of its most famous landmarks was the Library, which housed not only books and scrolls but relics brought from all over the world, given as tribute to the Four. Though the Library is in ruin now, and the books have likely all long since decayed from exposure to the elements, it’s rumored the relics are still there. I imagine that’s what has lured many a treasure hunter to brave the Outlands.”
“No scholars though?” Benny questioned. “I’d imagine having so many ancient artifacts of such historical import right there for the taking would be tempting for them too.”
“I believe there was a team put together around a decade ago, but their expedition didn’t make it very far. They were very thorough in recording their experiences though, and as far as I’m aware, it has done a remarkable job of discouraging anyone else from attempting it.”
Emmet let out a longing sigh. “I wish I could have seen it at the height of its glory. Did the Four really live down here??”
“The few surviving accounts of the city all say so,” Vitruvius confirmed. “They are beyond my ability to scry though, so I cannot say for absolutely certain.”
The old wizard only knew of one other story about Bath-El, an old fairy tale that took place in the temple city. Once his limited knowledge was exhausted, Benny picked up the slack, telling Emmet stories about the stars and constellations. Between the two of them, they managed to entertain the acolyte for a week.
Benny eventually remembered to ask Vitruvius how he survived his Volcano Encounter (emphasis courtesy of the mage, which had the wizard giggling). As Emmet had never heard the tale before, Vitruvius recounted the entire story from its beginning.
“There was once a powerful wizard who fancied himself my rival. He called himself Mallock the Malign.” Vitruvius grinned as Cary snorted in disbelief. “My sentiments exactly. Anyway, powerful and crafty though he was, his reputation was still nowhere near what mine was, even back then.”
“This was a long time ago, then?” Emmet asked.
“Nearly two hundred years, yes.”
“Damn Vitruvius, you’re old!” Benny cackled.
“Wizards usually are,” Vitruvius replied jovially, taking the teasing in stride. “So Mallock decided to declare me his rival, even though I had no idea who he even was, and executed every dastardly plan he could come up with to show me up. He did, unfortunately, prove to be more than a mere nuisance, and so I was forced to seek him out and put an end to his plans more often than I would have liked. I do have to say though, those two bumbling skeleton henchmen of his were quite entertaining… After about a hundred years of his nonsense, some explorer or other came back from Dino Island with the news that some Firexo Crystals were developing inside the volcano. I knew that Mallock would try to get his hands on them for some new nefarious plot of his, so I departed immediately to retrieve them and hide them somewhere safe before he could find them.”
“What exactly are Firexo Crystals, anyway?” Cary interrupted, curiosity finally getting the better of him. “I’ve heard that they’re powerful, but no one’s ever really explained their actual use to me.”
“A very special type of volcanic glass that takes on a red hue from the magicka it absorbs. They’re mostly useful for fire magic, as you might have guessed, but can also provide extra magicka for some really big spells. I’m sure you can see how Mallock would find them tempting.” Cary hummed in agreement. “I got there in what I thought was good time, and managed to climb down to the ledge they were growing on without a problem. I’d harvested three of the five of them when I heard Mallock shouting at me from the ledge above. I looked up just in time to see him casting an explosive spell at me. The shelf I was standing on crumbled, and in my shock, I ended up flinging the satchel with the crystals into the lava… Fortunately I landed on solid rock, even if it did hurt, and just my luck, there was a lava tube right there that led back outside. Unfortunately, I was injured from the fall, so even though I managed to escape the eruption, it still took me a lot longer than it normally would have to get back to Middle Zealand. It was worth it though, for the look on Mallock’s face when I showed up to thwart his next evil plot after two weeks of him telling everyone I was dead. No one ever saw him again after that. I can’t imagine how embarrassing that must have been.”
They had to pause and wait for Benny and Emmet to stop laughing so hard and catch their breath. Even Cary was unable to hold back his chuckling.
Nights were spent on magic lessons. If Vitruvius was even the least bit overwhelmed by finding himself saddled with three students, he did a remarkable job of not showing it. Emmet seemed especially fascinated as the wizard taught the twins about their ancestry. He had never heard of anyone whose mytho ancestry played such a strong role in what magic they could use.
After two weeks of practice with the conjuring of spells, Vitruvius decided it was time for them to start casting them. The twins had gotten the hang of energy management by that, with the head start of Benny’s help, and summoning their magic didn’t wear them out nearly so bad anymore.
“Benny, how are your wards?” Vitruvius asked.
The mage got to his feet. “Pretty good. You want them to use me as target practice?”
“If you don’t mind. Emmet, you can use this opportunity to practice casting your healing and protective spells as well.” Emmet nodded.
Cary grumbled as he got to his feet as well. “You’re not target practice, Ben.”
Benny grinned back at him. “I’m something for you to aim at, aren’t I? Don’t worry so much, my wards will hold.”
The soldier heaved a sigh. “Fine. Emmet—”
“You don’t even have to say it,” the acolyte assured. “I don’t want to see him hurt any more than you do.”
“Good. As long as we’re all on the same page.” With that settled, Cary began casting.
Crossing the border into Gotham was almost like flipping a switch. Where the few people they had run into in Pirate’s Cove had left them alone, most everyone in Gotham seemed to want a piece of them, for some reason. It made getting through the country unnecessarily difficult, but also provided the twins the opportunity to practice their magic against real opponents, though they sought only to discourage their attackers, rather than do serious harm.
“Is everybody here out of their minds?” Cary muttered, completely baffled by the unusual behavior.
“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility,” Vitruvius mused, earning a snicker from Benny. “The people of Gotham are certainly an interesting bunch. Though if you think this is nuts, wait until we reach Gotham City. The people there are, eh... colorful, I’ll say that much.”
“Please tell me Lord Wayne isn’t going to be just as weird.”
“No, no, he’s uh...” Vitruvius chuckled. “Well, you’ll see.”
It took another three days to get around the bay to reach the peninsula where Gotham City was located. By the time they passed through the city’s gates, Emmet had gotten used to the near grueling pace Cary liked to set, and was finally capable of keeping up.
“So how are we supposed to find his house?” Benny asked, looking around. “Everything here looks the same.” In fact it looked like the entirety of the city had been designed by the same architect, and one who had been pretty stuck on the same theme as well. Every building they could see looked gloomy and spiky and was covered in gargoyles.
“Look for the big mansion in the middle of the lake,” Vitruvius told them.
“I’m guessing the Wayne family has been around for a long time, to warrant having a moat around their property,” Benny snickered.
“What I wouldn’t give for a map right now,” Cary grumbled, “if only to figure out where we’re at in relation to this lake.”
“Why not just ask somebody?” Emmet suggested. “In fact I see a guard right over there, I’m sure she’ll know.” He made his way over to the guard to ask for directions. He returned a few minutes later, looking confused.
“Any luck?” Benny asked.
“Uh, well, I got an answer, but I’m not sure how much of it was actual directions...” Emmet said, scratching his head. “It was all very confusing. But if I understood enough of it, it’s in that direction.” He gestured down the street they were to start on.
Cary heaved a sigh. Already he could tell it was going to be a long day. “We better get started then.” They started walking down the street Emmet had pointed out. The next three hours were spent backtracking, getting turned around, and going in circles. Cary was pretty certain they had gone down one street at least six times; he was starting to recognize some of the shop names. Emmet had even stopped to ask for directions again several more times, and they still kept getting sent the wrong way. “I’m starting to think these people are messing with us,” he growled.
“Oh!” Benny gasped, and pointed. “Wait, I can see it from here! This way!” He charged off down a street almost at a run, forcing the others to hurry to keep up with him. He zipped through twists and turns with almost frightening speed, making the others wonder how he had memorized the way in just a matter of seconds. But eventually they reached the bridge that crossed the lake. Emmet doubled over when Benny finally stopped to wait for them, trying to catch his breath.
“Was rushing like that really necessary?” Cary huffed at the mage. “We almost lost Emmet and Vitruvius.”
“Sorry,” Benny said, giving them a sheepish grin. “I just wanted to get here before I forgot the way.”
“There’s no need for reprimands, we all made it in one piece,” Vitruvius pointed out. “Now, if you don’t mind leading the way? We’re so close, there’s no point in stopping now.”
“All right,” Cary agreed, and started across the bridge. Benny was right behind him.
“Are you all right?” Vitruvius asked as Emmet took his arm again.
“Yeah,” the young man panted. “I’ve just never run so fast for so long before. I had no idea Benny could move like that.” Vitruvius chuckled and patted his hand.
They finally approached the door. There was no knocker to be seen, but a pull rope dangled near the side of the door. Benny reached to give it a tug, and was surprised by the unexpectedly deep tolling of the door bell. “Now that’s just showing off,” he muttered. Cary snorted in amusement.
It was nearly a minute before someone answered. Benny was debating pulling the rope again when the door finally opened to reveal an older gentleman standing on the other side. “Oh,” he said, somewhat startled. “Are you Lord Wayne?”
The man’s gaze swept over them, studying them for a moment. “May I ask who calls upon Master Bruce?” he asked in turn. Benny tried not to roll his eyes at the response. There were certainly easier ways to say ‘no’, but he supposed it must be this guy’s job to ask.
“Tell him Vitruvius is here to call in that favor,” the wizard called out from where he was half hidden behind Cary. He sounded amused. The butler (at least that was what they guessed him to be) raised an eyebrow in response.
“Very good,” he said. “Please, do come in. Master Bruce is not presently ready to welcome guests, but you may wait in the parlor in the meantime.” He held the door open as they made their way inside, then showed them to the parlor nearby. It looked comfortable enough, but so well kept that none of them really wanted to sit in the nice clean furniture and get it dirty with more than three weeks’ worth of dust and dirt from the road. The butler left, and returned ten minutes later with some tea and refreshments. He looked amused to find them all still standing. “Please, feel free to sit down. This room so rarely sees visitors as it is.” They awkwardly sat down in the various chairs and lounges that filled the room. The butler set the tray he held down onto the tea table in the center of the room. “Master Bruce will be in to see you shortly,” he told them before leaving once more.
Emmet and Benny were the first to reach for the refreshments. The little sandwiches and cookies were too tempting to pass up after spending almost a month eating only what they could hunt and forage. Cary finally relented and got himself a cup of tea. “You know, you really ought to tell us what you did that this guy owes you a favor for,” Cary said. Vitruvius only smiled and hummed in response, accepting the cup of tea that Emmet handed to him.
By the time the master of the house made his appearance, the snacks and tea were gone. The butler seemed pleased with this, and removed the now empty tray from the room. “I’m surprised you’re still alive, old man,” was the first thing Bruce said. Vitruvius only chuckled.
“Come now Bruce, you should know better than to think that mere old age would ever do me in.”
The others shifted uncomfortably as they continued to banter. Something about the Gotham noble wasn’t sitting right with any of them. Benny sucked in a sharp breath when Bruce shifted his gaze toward them and his blue eyes briefly reflected red. “Oh stars,” he muttered. “You’re a vampire!” Emmet let out a fearful squeak and Cary’s hand flew to the hilt of his sword as he leapt to his feet.
“Really, Vitruvius?! A vampire?!” the former soldier snarled. The wizard only sat there calmly, waiting for his companions’ panic to subside. Bruce just gave them a bored look, and otherwise didn’t budge an inch.
“Do you want my help putting this team together or not?” Vitruvius asked once he judged them sufficiently calmed.
“Yes, but a vampire??”
“Team?” Bruce questioned.
“You can’t deny he’ll have skills that would be very useful to our cause.”
“We’re not trading one demon for another!”
“Somebody better start explaining,” Bruce warned, frowning at his guests. “What do you need a team for, and what’s this about a demon?”
Cary finally calmed himself, removing his hand from his sword. “I’m sure you’ve heard that Octan is at war with Undar, and has been for over a year now.”
Bruce nodded. “I’ve heard,” he confirmed. “I also heard that Octan nearly won, until someone made one hell of a blunder at Southlake Point and got every single Octan soldier there killed.”
Cary glowered at him, barely biting back a growl. “It wasn’t a blunder. It was a demon that no one could see. The same one that all the Octan nobility at the treaty signing got sacrificed to.”
“...That has got to be the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard,” Bruce drawled. He smothered a bored yawn. “Alfred, would you mind showing them out? I think we’re done here.”
“Are you refusing my favor, then?” Vitruvius asked. Bruce froze. The wizard waited in pointed silence. Bruce let out a long, petulant groan. “You gave me your word, Bruce,” Vitruvius reminded.
“Fiiiiine,” the vampire grumbled. “Fine. I’m in. Happy now?”
“Yes,” Vitruvius said, smiling.

"Several photographs of the group were taken inside AIR for promotional purposes and there was a suggestion that they might be used for the album sleeve. Instead the band opted to use the talents of Tom Phillips, who was suggested to Fripp by Brian Eno, one of Phillips' former students. At a time when elaborate or startling album sleeves were in vogue - a trend significantly boosted by Crimson's 1969 debut - the glacial simplicity of Phillips' black-on-white stencilled text, in stark and telling contrast to the title, nevertheless was not without impact or minimalist beauty. The austerity of the cover gave way on the gatefold to a dizzying blur, based on an earlier painting from 1970 by Phillips called Here We Exemplify."
"The panel on the reverse of the cover is taken from Phillips' adaptation of a page from a novel entitled A Human Document by W.H. Mallock, originally published in 1892. Since finding the book in a second-hand pile in 1966, Phillips had been revising, editing and over-painting each page and in 1970 published the first edition of A Humument - A Treated Victorian Novel. Departing from his original design for page 222 of A Humument, which contains the phrase "This Night Wounds Time", Phillips produced an image unique to the record bearing the phrase."
"Starless And Bible Black was Phillips' first album sleeve. In 1975 he would provide the same service for Eno's Another Green World."

Can you do Season 7 where Mallock created a powerful monster that can master dark elemental abilities
The thing is, Mallock isn't my OC, but rather another Tumblr user's. Since you asked anonymously, I can't know if you're the one who created Mallock. As I don't use other people's OCs without permission, I am waiting to get permission to use Mallock. I reached out to Mallock's creator to ask if I can use him, and if I have permission, I will do the fan season. (on a related note: If you want me to make a post with your OC, please don't ask anonymously)
It will be fan season 6, not 7. I only have done 5 fan seasons so far. Also, keep in mind it will take a bit, as I'm fairly busy and fan seasons are time consuming (I have to plan the season, then each individual episode.) The first episode may be filler, but I'll try to make it plot-relevant. There's a Halloween episode that I was actually going to do, and I'm looking forward to it.
I may also redo some episodes. I'll do my best to write unique stories, but keep in mind that I've written 71 episodes just as fan seasons (My first one was 20 episodes, then the other four fan seasons were 13 episodes each. I subtracted one as I did meeting Sharise twice). And that's not including stand-alone episodes. So, thinking of 13 new original stories may be a challenge, especially since going back to find old posts can be hard, so it's not like I have an easy way to make sure I didn't do a certain idea already).
As for how it relates to the canon, I consider each fan season as a seperate continuity. However, Sharise will already be a Mysticon for this fan season, as not only do I not want to write another Sharise joining the Mysticons episode, but she is also the main focus of my Halloween episode, so she kinda needs to be there.

It's a huge number of people bothering us saying you were too big or bases are too big and we're tracking attention of Saturn and we say we're tying it up with the Max and others and they say good and it's terrible but they don't know their business very well and there's a huge contingent heading towards one of our citadels. And it's the one that is in the North and it's not the mega it's pretty big though it is a mega science but it's not the gigantic mega and they're going there to try and break in and if the trumpsters and their idiots and we will have a reprisal prep and ready by the time they're dust. And we will hit them all over the world for trying
Thor Freya
I do appreciate the talk but it's not really true and she's having me said because I can't be that good I did follow that and we are up to a lot of stuff these people are nasty here in PC and PG and we are taking a lot of stuff in from overseas and other and we're getting it together our country is coming alive and it's wonderful we are also going after shifts as foreigners are and the success rate is fairly high for both and it will be a fight and it's a big one. -there are about 7 million people trying to get out of here Charlotte county no they're trying to get in and surreptitiously by jet or ground or water or tunnels I've been trying all morning about 1 million got in and they're a damn nuisance they're nasty piece of s***. Something has to be done about it and they're mostly these Mac morlock imbeciles. And there's some people that shouldn't laugh but they were having to do stuff and he's really pissed off at them.

-there's a few other things happening and when is John remillard I lost his car keys and someone collected them it's a non event but he started spazzing out threatening people turn into a piece of s*** and people are mad at him
-there's a huge number of people who are following him around and find him to be such a crass a****** and they try and take stuff all the time
-there's a massive number of people who are pursuing bja because he seems really dumb and he has a lot of stuff
-furthermore there's some witnesses who saw Jason hurting people and they think it's him he just looks like you're mad cuz he bulks up and they have seen him do it but for Christ's sake that's the max headquarters
-there's a huge number of people who are going across the line right now and they are taking down Mac morlock as they do to make sure they can get in and they're working with people and a whole bunch of pseudo empire proper are coming down and they're forced out by more luck again for taking small bases about half the ones remaining we're taking today and they're pouring in and displacing a ton of these morlock and they're trying to get in here again huge numbers this time but these pseudo empire has probably 70% of their ships and they're going to go after a lot more right now don't need them having anything we don't either

HIS HONOR?!?!#this man would slam dunk that rock baby no hesitation! this man would sell out to Mallock The Malign for a single corn chip!!!#NotMyClutch!!!#also wait icy have you watched the OG movie bc that is critical context#nothin actually IMPORTANT to Ninjago happens but it's important to me that you see this man's past
I think I might have? I'm not really sure? My cousins and I might have watched it at some point, but it's possible that it was a different movie.
Clutch, I say this as someone who was planning on going to school to become an archaeologist and anthropologist: You are a thief.
