Wrapping up Cranberry Mall with Sears and friends. Of course Sears is the only place is the mall with eerie green lighting cast from obsolete & barely legal mercury vapor lightbulbs. I love the dumb little pattern of brick flooring that designates where the trash cans go 🖤 also the wooden storefront with red flooring inside was a Kinney Shoes - you don't see a labelscar for a store that old every day.

Love when you can feel the cruising history in a bathroom

#straight bars with piss troughs are one extreme #so completely oblivious of gay cruising that all dudes are encouraged to whip their dicks out together #the other end is probably gay bars that put a bouncer in the bathroom. bc of the woke 🙄#this post was prompted by two things #1) the AMC bathroom from when I watched furiosa last weekend #where the urinal dividers were like largely performative like if I glanced over I could absolutely see everything #and they were so shallow I could probably grab if the mood was right in that mall bathroom bc they were also very shallow #and 2) the rest stop bathroom where the urinals were basically in a stall #floor to almost ceiling stainless steel going all the way to the wall with no gaps #and so deep and tight that I actually only just managed to fit with my wide ass shoulders #they just screamed one man per urinal and NO glancing #*touches the ground* something incredibly homosexual happened here…#*and then washes my hands incredibly thoroughly multiple times…*

i spent too much time here for a mall with only 4 stores, i asked a store owner about the history of the place but instead got preached to for an hour. either way, this place is rad and i wish the owners had maintained it during covid.

I saw this blurb online and then was sad to get to the mall and see that the movies were closed. Rising & unreasonable lease terms and a sharp decline in attendance after the pandemic have both been attributed to the demise of The Movies at Cranberry.

New thing I've been considering. Anton getting put on a demo crew at an old mall that's been left unused for a while and deciding to take Jazz on little "tours" / dates around the building before it's totally torn down. Pleaseeee sneak me on site after work hours and let me walk around the atrium and stuff 🥺
