Wrapping up Cranberry Mall with Sears and friends. Of course Sears is the only place is the mall with eerie green lighting cast from obsolete & barely legal mercury vapor lightbulbs. I love the dumb little pattern of brick flooring that designates where the trash cans go 🖤 also the wooden storefront with red flooring inside was a Kinney Shoes - you don't see a labelscar for a store that old every day.

i spent too much time here for a mall with only 4 stores, i asked a store owner about the history of the place but instead got preached to for an hour. either way, this place is rad and i wish the owners had maintained it during covid.

you know sometimes when you have a dream and something is familiar in it but when you wake up you're not sure if youd dreamed it before or if it's just dream logic? well today i had that proof. in my dream i drove past my old block which is now an elementary school and brought it up with someone before going on a freeway by shiny buildings. and i indeed dream about that block being an elementary school a month or two ago, though in a different context where i spent more time in the neighborhood. incontrivertable proof that my dreams have continuity and in fact i probably am visiting some of the same imaginary dream places multiple times. not recurring dreams, but recurring places

I had a weird dream this morning where, among other things, I kept getting stuck in these bizarre maze-like ~museum exhibits, one of which was on some random fictive slightly MCR-esque supposedly local band (but it involved a huge wall graph that supposedly depicted historical trends in like ... loving vs leaving vs ~cheating in rock and roll songs? Elvis came up re this in an interview one of the band members was doing... live)

(btw while this was happening I was struggling to remember which This Is Deer Country song has the line about "oppressively green" (I kept thinking it was on What Wandering Heart + for some reason I was convinced they'd put out a post-Killdeer album that was also pretty murdery) and also trying and failing to queue up their "Coyote" on my phone (...instead some random Lana del Rey song was queued up by teh algorithms and I only rarely listen to her))

then I ended up in this weird ~Rey*lo-fantasy interactive exhibit where the male LI was taking about doing various mean things without real consent and I guess there was a rival love interest that wasn't a great deal better ...that culminated in my running into reformed-ish-Palpatine-from-my-fics disguised in a gray hooded cloak and he... confirmed that the exhibit narrative was inaccurate?
