സ്നേഹവും വെറുപ്പും തമ്മിൽ വാക്കുകളുടെ അകലമേ ഉള്ളത്രേ... അശ്രദ്ധമായി വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ വരഞ്ഞ് മുറിഞ്ഞ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് സ്നേഹം വാർന്നിറങ്ങി, ഇരുട്ട് നിറഞ്ഞു. He tells me today that I feel everything too deep, that I suck up despair like a child sucking the life out of a 1 rupee lollipop and me, at a loss for words look at him and smile, making sure I don't look too sad nor happy. I wanted to tell him. I wanted tell him how I hated it too, how I too, wanted to stop caring and find solace in the world's way of reasoning, "Hey..This is how it works, this is how it always was, and this is how it's going to be". But I fail.Every other time I try, I fail to reason with the world and drown deeper and deeper into sorrow. I absorb pain, hopelessness and misery like a sponge and squeeze it dry untill I am wet with tears that burn my insides.And I find myself overwhelmed with immense grief which might not have been mine to begin with. I tell him nothing. I tell him nothing because I couldn't take another "Let Go" from anybody I love. I couldn't take another half-hearted nods of understanding or plain words of fake consolation. I couldn't take another pair of judgmental eyes resting upon my face as if I was wrong to care, as if the world was right in it's ignorance. I couldn't take it anymore. So I tell him nothing and fakes an even cheerful smile the second time. There are things you will never understand unless you are in somebody's place. Because you have never lived it, never felt it, it becomes easy for you to fill up excuses in the void, come up with how everything has become much better and even judge everything I feel or point out. You could term me whiny, needy and sometimes even plain arrogant and dumb. But I don't think you will know how it feels to be considered less because you were born into a gender, how it feels to have over-glorified, inhumanly expectations set up on you, how people will never get it know matter how you tell them and they still come up with lame excuses and arguments with zero shame pretending to be progressive, you will never understand how after some point, you feel everything you see around you is a mere continuation of what you have heard, felt and gone through. Conversations drain you out, arguments make you lose hope and there is nothing or nobody you believe in anymore. I might not be a good reader or a writer, my words might not have enough power to convince, i might never win you in an argument, but I sure know how I feel. This is an amazing book. I can't begin to tell you how each part of this book reminded me of many old memories and incident. Many a times, I found myself in the main character's place, unable to speak up, react and even drained of the energy to argue. Kim JiYoung - Born in 1982 by Choi Nam Joo takes you through the life of a women beautifully and painfully. This seems to be available as a movie as well but I think the movie covers just the last portions of the book. NOTE: No arguments are welcome, I am sure it does no good to either you or me. I would rather suggest you to read books that would clear your doubts or treat your 'ചൊറി'.
