Chapter 9: What The Three Words Mean

“Because none of you bother to answer the fucking phones!” Kaga raises his voice as Goto picks up his suit jacket and avoids looking at him.

“What do you want?” You ask again, clearly annoyed. Playing and teasing you is one thing but barging into your place and yelling at you first thing in the morning when you still haven’t showered, ah uh no just no.

Soryu’s POV That Mr. Ito takes less than 30 minutes to crack and most of the credits go to the Kaga guy. He doesn’t speak more than necessary but his gazes are enough to eat someone alive- he’s rather good. I would personally hire the guy if he isn’t a cop already.

The MPD and Public Safety have both got a suspect each since Eisuke says there is more pressing matter than screwing over a former guest. He hands me some files and informs me to make arrangements since we will be going on an eight days cruise with the police.

Eisuke talks to the rest of the sponsors separately, I imagine he’s assigning different tasks for each of us but I have enough on my plate to care. Kaga will work undercover as one of my Dragon’s member, I can already hear Inui’s whining. There seems to be an organization that’s selling drugs in hotels and I’ve no clue who’s behind or what kind of enemy we are facing.

With the files in hands, I begin reading them again before I store them away for the night. Kaga, Goto and Mika are all from Public Safety, she’s always been an elite. A sculptor base in India, there isn’t much to find as no one has ever seen his face, he refuses all interviews and everything is communicated through his agent. India? This is where he’s been all these years? I really want to smash the nearest bottle to the door but it’ll wake Mia, instead, I head to the shower and calm myself.

Laying in bed and watching her sleep seems to be my one of my favorite things to do, it’s ridiculously soothing, just like her coffee. Though I really want one, I used to wake her to make me one when we first started dating. She hated it but she’d still do it. Letting out a low chuckle, I plant a kiss on her cheek, then her earlobe to hear her soft whimper. As much as I love to wake her for a whole different reason, I have piles of extra work waiting thanks to Public Safety. Sleep is what I need, not what I want but what I need.

The lack of warmth and familiar scent make me open my eyes to see Mia’s missing, I swiftly sit up, pausing few seconds and grab my phone, it’s 530am. Fear suddenly finds its way to my heart, “Mia?!” I call, hoping to hear her voice in response.

Oh thank god, she’s here.

She walks back into our bedroom with a cup of coffee, thanks god again. How does something so seemingly insignificant give such comfort to me? “Eisuke,” Her whisper so tender and comforting, I lay my head on her lap. “I’m always here.” I’d have smirked and teased, of course, she would, where else would she go? I turn to face her, probably blushing a little but I’ll let her glimpse that side of me for a few seconds as her hand brushes through my bangs. “I love you, Mia.” I hear myself said before closing my eyes, just few more minutes of peace on her lap, that’s all I need to recharge.

The bidders have no time to grill Mia about her knowledge of the uninvited man who’s just screwing you in Eisuke’s suite moment ago as more guests enter the penthouse, Mia gasps at the new arrivals. “Hey, you never hug me like that?" Quickly letting go you stick your tongue out while the tall man chuckles, "You’re a prev, that’s why.” Kirisawa clears his throat from behind to remind them the more urgent matter in hand.

“Hello, Mr. Ichinomiya. I am Jin Namba from Public Safety and this is ..”

“Nomura Tadanobu from MPD.” Eisuke rises his brows and shakes Namba’s hand. “Why don’t we talk in private?” Namba cuts right to the chase, Eisuke shares a look with Soryu and head upstairs. Nomura, Kirisawa and Kaga follow, “You too, Mia. I need the window disinfected." King asshole glares at you and Kaga while Mia looks confuse but grabs the cleaning products anyway.

"Mika?” Namba motions you to join with his chin, you head back to the place where you and Kaga have just had sex, not weird at all. At least you keep telling yourself that while you walk behind the men and see Ota smirks in amusement.

“Now, can someone tell me what is going on instead of being useless?” Eisuke gives you two the death glare again, clearly very irritated.

“We’ve got a tip about the illegal drug exchange in your hotel. And captain Kaga here has come to arrest the men in action.”

Eisuke remains unfazed at the news, meaning he has known or guessed as much when he “borrows” you, “Why are you two here?” He asks, meaning Namba and Nomura.

“Well, our communication with Kaga drops after he’s knocked out the suspects.” Namba explains, pulling a cigarette out from his pocket. “Do you mind?” Eisuke pushes an ashtray towards him without answering as Nomura begins to speak. “MPD needs a suspect in custody and so does Public Safety.”

Eisuke doesn’t care about justice or rightful sentence, that’s not his job but he gives a fuck when people are bringing drugs to his hotel, that’s just not acceptable. “Mr. Ichinomiya, you did request for our help.” Nomura smiles and Eisuke gives Soryu a nod, “You can have the other guy but Mr. Ito is our hotel guest, I can’t just give him to you.”

Namba blows a ring out, blurring the King in sight. “Do you plan to interrogate him yourself?”

“No. I don’t do everything myself.” Eisuke answers with a grin.

“An hour.” Soryu adds.

“Who knows what you'd do to him in that hour,” Kaga protests, “I’ll do it."

The two men stare at each other, both men are experienced with interrogation. "Why don’t they both interrogate Mr. Ito?” Namba suggests, Eisuke uncrosses his legs and nods at Soryu again before the two leave the door while you pray they don’t end up killing each other.

“Mia, coffee.” And that’s the cue for her to stay away from the conversation, at least for a short while. Folding his arms, Eisuke sits up a little and asks firmly, “Why are you really here?”

As much as you dislike the guy, Eisuke Ichinomiya is so damn smart. “There will be a bigger deal on a cruise.” Namba puts his cigarette out, “And you are invited, I believe."

Nomura and Kirisawa sit quietly, waiting for further explanation. "The Dreamers Cruise, by invitation only and they are inviting all sort of people around the world to try their first trip. Celebrities, politicians, businessmen, a perfect place to sell drug when they are out in the high sea.”

“I can’t get you an invitation.” Eisuke interrupts.

“No, you can’t but you can give the number of guests in rsvp.” Namba grins knowingly, “Plus all the VIP gentleman have an invitation of their own.”

Eisuke studies Namba carefully and wonders just how much he knows. “How many people do I need to bring? I am not babysitting for the police." The CEO speaks coldly.

"Just three, we even have their identities covered.” Namba puts a brown envelope on his desk, “Captain Kaga as a mafia member of the Ice Dragons.”

Oh what? This isn’t going to set well with him, being under someone is never going to work. It’s a miracle that he listens to Namba, he sure as hell isn’t going to act the part and listens to a mob boss.

“And Lieutenant Goto and Mika will be acting as couple, as Mia’s sister of course.”

Eisuke looks at the files, scanning the names and occupations. “They work in my company? Meaning I’ll be forging their employees details?”

“Oh no, we have that cover too. Mr. Ichinomiya, we simply need you to agree and play the part." Namba never needs mean comments or cold stares to get someone’s convinced.

"Mika too?” It’s Nomura’s turn with questions, “I hope you are not stealing her away from me"

"Steal? Tadanobu, she’s ours to begin with. She may have transferred to second unit but she’s one of us, always will be.” He winks at you while you hear a small gasp from Kirisawa, he has no idea as Nomura has kept it a secret from the team. You want to fit in, being the centre of a “former” public safety will only cause unnecessary rumors and troubles.

“I supposingly can provide the help you need but why would I help? Are you going to blackmail me?” Eisuke’s eyes darken.

“Mr. Ichinomiya, this goes beyond just some drug trafficking. The organization must be big and structured enough to have that many hotels and people involved. We suspect there’s more than just drug, they are a potential threat to our country.”

Eisuke listens but looks nonchalant then Namba shows his upper hand, “The name Kazumi Tanaka is on the invitation.” The King stares at Namba, waiting for him to disclose the meaning of it and he hasn’t disappointed, Jin Namba says a name Eisuke Ichinomiya has not heard for over twelve years.

“We also believe he’s formerly known as Takao Saionji.”

Writer’s Note: Takao Saionji is the name I’ve made up for Eisuke’s biological father since there’s no info about him and his face’s only shown once in Jap version of Love Trap so I let my imagination do the work.

[ Another 6 months have passed since you last saw the bidders, they recently returned to Tokyo from Dubai ]

Slowly lifting your head up from a bow to another guest, you let out a sigh and impatiently pace around the lobby. It’s a quiet day at the hotel and it’s boring the hell out of you, given the fact that this isn’t even an actual mission. Six months, you’ve had complete control of you life again, solving cases, arresting criminals, interrogating suspects and occasional one night stands.

Six wonderful months with no bidders, no auctions, no Eisuke the ass or the mobster you’d finally stop thinking of. Mia has moved to Dubai with them for the new hotel and you couldn’t be happier. Until the moment Eisuke is sitting in the chief’s office and “requires” your assistance- the lucky bastard just always gets his way. However, it concerns Mia and it’s a rather easy task so why not? As long as the pervert isn’t laying his hands on her, following him and sees what he’s hiding would be a piece of cake.

Half an hour later, the target has arrived, giving you a big unpleasant grin and hugs as soon as he spots you. “I’ve got some business to attend love, then I’ll see ya at the penthouse. Would be best if we’re alone, if ya know what I mean?” You force a smile and head to his floor shortly after. Looking through the peephole from the room across his since Eisuke has given you a master key, it doesn’t take long til he has a visitor- a man you actually recognize.

Nishimura, a drug dealer you’ve arrested quite a few times. Eisuke’s target is buying and selling drugs in his hotel, the guy must have a death wish. Just as your hands reach the doorknob, a figure appears from the shadow and kneels down in front of the door opposite, sliding a spy camera underneath. The tall man moves quickly but you’d partly make out of his face structure, those determined eyes and messy dark brown hair. You know this man, you’d recognize his back anywhere, since you’ve dug your nails into it so many times, embracing it from behind for years- his back has been your sanctuary, your very own safe place. How could you ever forget?

Returning his camera back to his inner pocket, he enters the room in no time. Seconds later, you go in to find them lying unconscious on the floor while the only man standing points a gun at you. “Hello, Kaga.”

He stares at you blankly, clearly struggles to find the right words and before you could the door is burst open, your heart almost stop. “What da fuck did ya do kid?” Soryu has already drawn his gun out and Kaga quickly aims his at the mobster, “Okay clam down, don’t shoot!” You step in between, arms out and reach for both their guns. “Eisuke ain’t gonna be happy.” Mamoru sighs while few men from the Ice Dragons comes in to carry the two unconscious men. “Please, he’s hardly ever happy.” You can’t help with the comment, Mamoru grins, “Who’s this?”

Expressionlessly as usual, Kaga sets his eyes on them, particularly Soryu. Anyone in the force would know his face, “A friend.” You mutter, “He’s coming with us obviously.” Kaga averts his questioning gaze at you with Mamoru’s words and you respond with a nod, indicating that it will be okay, what’d possibly happen now since you’ve already gone through the worst? Soryu remains silent throughout the entire time, only whispers the basics to Eisuke upon their arrival. As expected, the King is not amused. Ota and Baba’s eyes sparkle when they see you but their instinct is right, this isn’t the time to cheer and welcome you. “What happened?” His cold eyes scanning both you and Kaga, clearly irritated.

“Give me 5 minute,” You suggest, “can we borrow your office?” Pulling Kaga’s elbow towards upstairs as you hear Eisuke clicks his tongue but agrees. “5 minute, sharp.”

“Make it 10.” Kaga shrugs, “It’s a long story.”

Eisuke rolls his eyes then focuses back to his laptop, “You better get on with it then.”

Before the door has even closed Kaga holds your wrist high and spins you around, wrapping his arms around you. One inhale of his musky scent which can easily make you cry so you shake your head instead and break away, “What the hell are you doing?”

“It’s obvious, isn’t it?” His tongue slides into your mouth, seizing your voice with a wicked grin on his face. Hmmmm is the only sound you’d made, what a weak way to protest. With hands down your ass, he lifts you up and slams you against the window, making you gasp as the cool window’s glass hits your back with his lips trailing down your neck. Breaking away shortly, he rips your blouse open leaving you feeling exposed in your purple lace bra. Musing out with a smirk, his hands gropes your breasts and kisses them furiously, holding nothing back. “Fuck, I miss them!”

A dry laugh leave your mouth and your hands reach his messy hair, “We’ve only got 10 minutes.”

“Plenty of time then, we have done it in much shorter time.” His lips are moist and warm against your skin and it reminds you how much you’ve longed for this, no one else ever touches or kisses you the way he does. So rough and yet so gentle, so full of affection. Tilting your head to make way for him to kiss further down while his hands travels up and down your waist. There is no time to waste, he pulls up your skirt which you know for sure that he’d much prefer to see you fully naked, well today is not the day.

You can’t move, his fingers have somehow short circuited your mind in the best possible way, you have done it so many times and still, never a dull moment. He losses his belt as you open his shirt, revealing his toned abs. And you secretly curse in your head, that’s what you seriously miss!!! He’s so fucking hot! It’s impossible not to notice his bulge which is growing by the second, Hyogo Kaga is truly a sight to behold.

He kisses you hungrily, pushing his tongue between your lips, your body is writhing beneath his. One touch and that’s all it takes, it has always been this way with him. You feel electricity runs through your body, all there is left is passion, intense and intoxicating. Your eyes lock and you see the devilish satisfaction in his before dipping his head and licks your nipples. Swiping your hair to one side and bite your neck, daring to leave his mark. His thrusts become erratic and you’d hear him breathing heavily.“Are you close?” You whimper with all the strength you’ve left because he isn’t and you know it.
