ENFP Fictional Tropes
Most ENFP characters fall under at least one trope. There are many cross overs in tropes and some ENFPs may not fit the categories presented. However, these tropes do loosely address the roles ENFP characters play in narratives.
The Idealist
These ENFPs see the very best in everyone they meet. They are often the person who will forgive and help the most villainous of characters. They often bring out the best in others by just being themselves. They don’t even need to actively help others, but inspire others with their dreams and ideals. Their enthusiasm brought on by their Ne is often enough. Combined with their Fi caring towards individuals makes the caring on top of it. The idealist ENFPs are usually the most optimistic characters you will find.
Examples: Kenneth Parnell (30 Rock), Antoine Triplett (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Mad Hatter (Disney’s Alice in Wonderland), Tara Maclay (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer), Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who), Buddy the Elf (Elf), Nemo (Finding Nemo), Barry Allen (The Flash), Olaf (Frozen), Kiki (Kiki’s Delivery Service), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Moana (Moana), Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto Shippuden), Henry Mills (Once Upon a Time), Capheus (Sense8), Joyce Byers (Stranger Things), Rapunzel (Tangled), Jessie (Toy Story), Kimmy Schmidt (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Ottoki Otoya (Uta No Prince Sama), and Tara Chambler (The Walking Dead).
The Activist
The Activist ENFP is often first struck with Ne curiosity in the world and the ideas within it and then as they shape their Fi they rally behind a certain cause. The ENFP Activist is passionate about their cause. They may break the rules of society and systems, but they will never turn against their individual cause. Just like the Idealist, the ENFP activist often inspires others, however, they inspire those to follow them. ENFP activists can be very persuasive, living their life in line with their beliefs.
Examples: Hayley Smith (American Dad), Aang (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Karen Page (Netflix’s Daredevil), Marshall Eriksen (How I met Your Mother), Cindy Lou Who (Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Helen Parr (The Incredibles), Ray Palmer/Atom (DCTVU), Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Marvel Comics and X-MenCU), Mike Wheeler (Stranger Things), Sir Thomas More (The Tudors), Sam Seaborn (The West Wing), and Judy Hopps (Zootopia).
The Salesman
This ENFP character can convince you of anything and sell you on their vision. Whether they are healthy or not, their Ne makes them idea people that inspire, their Fi helps them appeal to people and their individual sense of self. They make you think that they can help make all your dreams come true. Healthy or unhealthy, their Te can help them make you think their idea is your priority, like they have your interests at heart (combined with Fi). This can help them actually help you or help them completely swindle you. No matter what they will make you for at least a moment feel special as they take you on a romantic journey of your dreams.
Examples: Katherine Pierce (The Vampire Diaries), Genie (Aladdin), Walt Disney (Saving Mr. Banks), Randy Marsh (South Park), Tom Haverford (Parks & Recreation), Erlich (Silicon Valley), Taco (The League), Tiffany Doggett (Orange is the New Black), Michael Scott (NBC’s The Office), Christian (Moulin Rouge!), John Hammond (Jurassic Park), Thomas Jefferson (Hamilton: An American Musical), Bumi (Avatar: The Legend of Korra), Gob Bluth (Arrested Development), and Malcolm Merlyn (Arrow).
The Prince
This is the darker side of the ENFP. They are probably the most self-involved trope. They believe their their wants are the needs of others. They demand others to serve their personal priorities. They often don’t see their work as selfish, but part of a greater cause or purpose. However, they are usually looping ENFPs. Many Prince ENFPs find themselves in leadership positions because they are over using their tertiary Te that they think is morally just because of their minimal use of their secondary Fi function. They use Te objectivity as a shield against their own subjective motives of Fi-Si. These types often have potential to be more positive tropes, but have faltered in their quest to satisfy their inferior function fears and desires.
Examples: Ice King (Adventure Time), Malcolm Merlyn (Arrow), Cheryl Tunt (Archer), The Master (Doctor Who-10th Doctor Era), King Richard, Jaime Lannister (Game of Thrones), Ronald Weasley (Harry Potter Series), Sean McGinnes (Hell on Wheels), Willis ‘Diamondback’ Stryker (Luke Cage), Julia (Syfy’s The Magicians), Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Marvel Comics/X-Men Cinematic Universe), Obito Uchiha (Naruto Shippuden), Peter Pan (Once Upon a Time), Marshal D. Teach “Blackbeard” (One Piece), Klaus Mikaelson (The Vampire Diaries/The Originals), and Catherine Earnshaw (Wuthering Heights).
The Champion Leader
ENFP leaders become so in their hope to help others. They are concerned with the forgotten because of their Introverted Feeling. They are a champion of a cause like the activist, but find themselves leading others in order to accomplish their goals. Their leadership style isn’t one of intense organization, but of individuality and independence. They are often because of Ne-Fi on the ground doing tasks with their followers in order to accomplish group goals. They have a hard time delegating, standing back and letting only others enjoy the fun of the action. This is due to their Ne being more present oriented and Fi being a function that can’t be used conceptually, but perceptually. The ENFP leader is far more comfortable helping others in the situation rather than apart from it.
Examples: Clark Kent/Superman (DC), Renly Baratheon (Game of Thrones), Chris (Bravest Warriors), Peter Quill (Guardians of the Galaxy), King Arthur (Mists of Avalon), Moana (Moana), Hashirama Senju (Naruto Shippuden), Peter Pan (Disney’s Peter Pan), Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece), Dr. Alexander Sweet (Penny Dreadful), Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Marvel/X-Men Cinematic Universe), and Captain Kirk (Star Trek).
The Goof
This is the most under-estimated ENFP character. They come off is aloof, odd, and carefree on the surface. But this is often a misread. The ENFP goof is often wandering the unbeaten Ne dominance path, seeing things differently in ways that other types can’t accept or don’t understand. Their sense of genius is mistaken for oddity. They usually surprise others with their intelligence and success, because it is never how others would go about completing a given task or goal. Their genius word play is often seen as simply humorous rather than an indicator of a deeper intelligence.
Examples: Mabel Pines (Gravity Falls), Second Doctor & Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who), Troy Barnes (Community), Fez (That ‘70s Show), Gregory (Over the Garden Wall), Spongebob Squarepants (Spondgebob Squarepants), Bing Bong (Inside Out), Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes (LOST), Bert (Morry Poppins), Mei (My Neighbor Totoro), Winston Bishop (New Girl), Erin Hannon (NBC’s The Office), Russell (Up), Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls), Madam Mim (The Sword in the Stone), Gene Belcher (Bob’s Burgers), Scooby-Doo (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?), Peter Quill (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Bolin (Avatar: The Legend of Korra).

MBTI as Mythical Creatures
ISTJ Griffin
The griffin’s more likable qualities include nobility, gentleness, and justice. Depicted on ancient stone tombs, griffins are the guardians and protectors of life, and remain loyal in their protection even in the afterlife. Griffins count nobility, vigilance, virtue and strength among their many positive attributes. The griffin is an incredibly strong symbol, and used only when the mightiest gods’ attention needs to be captured, and reserved only when the need is greatest. Misused, or invoked for selfish reasons, the griffin brings about gluttony, vengeance, ferocity, and violence. (source text)
ISFJ Unicorn
Unicorns exist to protect forests from intelligent creatures. They dwell deep within their forests, and shun most creatures, only conferring with fey such as pixies, dryads, and sprites, showing themselves only when they have to save their forests. Unicorns are strongly magical creatures, with most of their abilities coming from their horn. Unicorns are attracted to innocence; particularly young maidens. Some young women have even proven themselves to be capable of taming and riding a unicorn as a mount. Only the foolish, however, consider a unicorn to be a dumb animal. It is an intelligent magical beast with vast mystical powers at its disposal. (source text)
ESTJ Centaur
Centaurs have a tribal social system. Each tribe is organized into related clans, with each clan holding specific tribal responsibilities. They take pride in being self-reliant and unburdened by frivolous possessions, but they have a weakness for jewelry. Most centaurs come across as aloof and humorless. In truth, though rarely wild and carefree, they can be warm and considerate, and do enjoy a good joke or festival. They will honor any debts to other species, especially life-debts. Centaurs are extremely gifted astrologers and fortune tellers, to the point that many suspect that they possess some magical sense of precognition. Many centaurs excel at natural magics, and are said to be able to cure or kill anything with access to the proper plants. (source text)
ESFJ Genie
Jinn (Genie) in Arabic mythology, a supernatural spirit below the level of angels and devils. Ghūl (treacherous spirits of changing shape), ʿifrīt (diabolic, evil spirits), and siʿlā (treacherous spirits of invariable form) constitute classes of jinn. Jinn are beings of flame or air who are capable of assuming human or animal form and are said to dwell in all conceivable inanimate objects—stones, trees, ruins—underneath the earth, in the air, and in fire. They possess the bodily needs of human beings and can even be killed, but they are free from all physical restraints. Jinn delight in punishing humans for any harm done them, intentionally or unintentionally, and are said to be responsible for many diseases and all kinds of accidents; however, those human beings knowing the proper magical procedure can exploit the jinn to their advantage. (source text)
ISTP Gargoyle
Gargoyles are used as the evil beings that eat humans but as said before they usually are used to protect places from evil. Its been said that gargoyles can only communicate when either the wind or the rain passes between their mouths. Strangely enough its also been known that gargoyles have the strange ability of water manipulation. Gargoyles are guardians, protectors, and they do no harm to anyone. Gargoyles are often seen as evil doers and often hide in the shadows to do this. Gargoyles have been known to step in the light for someone strongly willing to see them and have been known to bond with anyone who truly believes they are good. A Gargoyle is a creature that comes to life during the night and turns to stone during the day. They are often to be believed by many to be alive and can see through their stone exterior. Those who truly have respect for such a creature tend to bow their heads in respect and the creature often will return the respect. (Source Text)
ISFP Kitsune
Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox. Foxes are a common subject of Japanese folklore; in English, kitsune refers to them in this context. Stories depict them as intelligent beings and as possessing magical abilities that increase with their age and wisdom. According to Yōkai folklore, all foxes have the ability to shape shift into women. While some folktales speak of kitsune employing this ability to trick others—as foxes in folklore often do—other stories portray them as faithful guardians, friends, lovers, and wives. Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence, long life, and magical powers. They are a type of yōkai, or spiritual entity, and the word kitsune is often translated as fox spirit. However, this does not mean that kitsune are ghosts, nor that they are fundamentally different from regular foxes. Because the word spirit is used to reflect a state of knowledge or enlightenment, all long-lived foxes gain supernatural abilities. (Source text)
ESTP Werewolf
Like real wolves, werewolves can live alone for many years, yet the instinct for a pack often leads them away from their secretive lifestyle, into revealing their nature to a priest or close associate, or converting another to werewolfry for companionship. This is when the otherwise cagey werewolf opens himself to detection! Werewolf packs cause immense destruction. A pack consists of one werewolf who became a werewolf through sorcery, birth, or curse - in other words, his is the original tainted blood. This werewolf is called the Alpha werewolf. The remaining werewolves in the pack are called Beta werewolves because they became werewolves through the bite of the Alpha and carry the Alpha’s tainted blood. (source text)
ESFP Satyr
A Satyr or Faun are intelligent creatures that are found in the wild places of the world. They indulge in food and drink and romance. A satyr is a horned man with the legs and feet of a goat. The hair that grows on these creatures is usually chestnut brown. The hooves tend to be jet black in colour. Satyrs are mischievous by nature and like to play tricks on others. They have a natural talent for music; they often carry Pan Pipes to play their magical tunes on them. (source text)
INTJ Dragon
Arrogance, selfishness and a sense of superiority and/or invulnerability. Vanity and great attention to appearances, though not necessarily physical. Defensive and territorial, preferring the company of other creatures to another dragon. Deference and even voluntary servitude to great wisdom, purity, power, or beauty. Curiosity about smaller, more delicate creatures such as men, to the point of obsession. A dragon is often seen as a messenger of divine powers or enforcer of the law of the gods. Mastery of arcane knowledge, such as alchemy and forms of sorcery or magical lore. A dragon tends to either make a snap decision - or else spend hours, days, or even years laboring over an idea, with little middle ground between the extremes. (source text)
INFJ Mermaid
Mermaids have psychic empathy, but have emotional independence and detachment; they have no need to bond with others. Mermaids are also known to possibly have telekinesis, mesmerism, and/or clairvoyance. Mermaids extend their auras through other people. This allows them to sense the an other person’s feelings as if those feelings are occurring within their own bodies. In spite of their profound empathy and capacity to join with others from within, mermaids feel detached from other people no matter how strong the relationship or how involved they are with others. They feel they are observing life from a distance. At the same time, they do not feel alienation or isolation. They are content and enjoy being independent. (source text)
ENTJ Manticore
By all accounts, to encounter a manticore meant certain death. Folklore credits it with the ability to devour a man whole, bones, clothes, weapons and all, leaving no trace behind. As a result, in certain regions, when individuals disappeared without a trace, people considered it proof of manticore existence…with the unfortunate lost ones presumably eaten whole. The manticore moved swiftly and with great power, killing its prey with poison spikes shot like arrows from its tail, with its scorpion-like sting, or with its dreadful teeth. It was known as a cruel creature, deadly and dangerous, a born hunter that hungered after men above all else. Not surprisingly, people held this beast as a symbol of ill omen and tyranny, or even of the devil, so it never became popular in heraldry. (source text)
ENFJ Harpy
In Greek mythology and Roman mythology, a harpy was a female monster in the form of a bird with a human face. They steal food from their victims while they are eating and carry evildoers (especially those who have killed their family) to the Erinyes. They seem originally to have been wind spirits. Their name means “snatchers”. In one form they were agents of punishment who abducted people and tortured them on their way to Tartarus. They were vicious, cruel and violent. They lived on the islands of the Strophades. They were usually seen as the personifications of the destructive nature of wind. (source text)
INFP Sphinx
Sphinx, a mythological creature with a lion’s body and a human head, an important image in Egyptian and Greek art and legend. The winged sphinx of Boeotian Thebes, the most famous in legend, was said to have terrorized the people by demanding the answer to a riddle taught her by the Muses—What is it that has one voice and yet becomes four-footed and two-footed and three-footed?—and devouring a man each time the riddle was answered incorrectly. Eventually Oedipus gave the proper answer: man, who crawls on all fours in infancy, walks on two feet when grown, and leans on a staff in old age. The sphinx thereupon killed herself. From this tale apparently grew the legend that the sphinx was omniscient, and even today the wisdom of the sphinx is proverbial. (source text)
INTP Elven
Elves are renowned for their grace and mastery of magic and weapons such as the sword and bow. Becoming physically mature by the age of 25 and emotionally mature at around 125, they are also famously long-lived, capable of living more than half a millennium and remaining physically youthful. Possessed of innate beauty and easy gracefulness, they are viewed as both wondrous and haughty by other races; however, their natural detachment is seen by some as introversion or xenophobia (source text). Elves from Tolkien’s writings harbor knowledge and share a good amount of it. They are the ones that taught Ents language.
ENFP Fae
Fae is generally a people person. If you are friends with a Fae, chances are excellent they are the person you think always gets you. They can be the most understanding and sympathetic person you know and yet when they let their guard down, they can have the tendency to be a tad emotional. They have the ability to make people feel happy. They aren’t the most popular kid on the block, but everyone likes them. And given the chance, they can be a wonderful leader. While their personality makes them come off as someone you’d never have to fear, in truth, their ability to read people and subtly control someone’s emotions can be one of the most frightening powers of all. Their ability to convince people to change their minds and control their moods is a valuable gift that can bring out the best in others, but it can also be misused and viewed as conniving. (source text)
ENTP Gnome
Gnomes believe that pushing a child into a particular interest or vocation may be damaging to the child’s nature causing unhappy or introverted children. Gnomes are encouraged to explore all of their interests as they come. Gnomes are blessed with ever expanding imaginations. They seek to improve their world without bringing it harm through the use of mechanical inventions and alchemy. Gnome homes and villages are often littered with peculiar new creations and unfinished projects. Courtship comprises a series of practical jokes with the intended being the target. Gnomes can perform the spell-like abilities of dancing lights, ghost sound and prestidigitation. These skills are taught in early childhood and play a large role in both childhood and adult games. Gnome children are competitive in the use of these powers. Practical jokes are perceived as contests of wit and skill. Gnomes are naturally friendly, highly social and fun loving people. Avatar: Legend of Korra MBTI
Korra ESFP [THE ENTERTAINER]
ESFPs tend to be generous sorts, and they may seem vulnerable, even naive, because they’re inclined to surrender themselves to the moment without restraint. Whatever they’re in, they’re in wholeheartedly, and if they’re not interested, they’re likely to escape or create a humorous diversion. Thus, ESFPs, may strike people as not taking life seriously enough, not caring enough about the consequences of their actions. In truth, these types are usually ambitious and want to be admired and respected. Introverted Feeling encourages ESFPs to be interested in people. They often know more than they realize about other’s states and intentions. ESFPs sometimes get over-involved in helping others and rarely ask for anything in return. They don’t like unpleasantness that can’t be handled with immediate action. ESFPs need to cultivate enough Introverted Feeling to look within–that is, to stop responding to life as it exists, and to consider what they themselves can bring to it. [Thomson]
Bolin ENFP [THE ADVOCATE]
ENFPs are the most optimistic of types–not because they’re determined to see the positive, but because they focus on hopeful possibilities. ENFPs have a warm, empathetic approach to others, and they establish an immediate affective connections. They have implicit faith in their ability to identify with people. They’re unfailingly generous with their time and advice. Introverted Feeling helps ENFPs take personal responsibility for the decisions they make, to accept social consequences of their choices. Although ENFPs usually develop Introverted Feeling quite well, it takes them a while to recognize what it asks of them in way of personal accountability. They long for intimacy, relationships they can count on, people who will stand by them no matter the circumstances. [Thomson]
Mako ISTJ [THE INSPECTOR]
ISTJs are unparalleled realists. However, they don’t concern themselves with external reality as such. They relate facts about external reality, and largely by way of the mental constructs determined by Extraverted Thinking: words, numbers, schemes, diagrams, hiearchies, methods, and codes of conduct. Moreover, outward predictability is important to them only insodar as events and experiences involve their primary interests and emotional investments. The very selectivity of the type’s sensations gives ISTJs an extraordinary capacity for detail in the areas that strike them as important. They don’t always understand what people want of them, and they may be uncomfortable and awkward about conveying warmth apart from a situation of personal intimacy. Privately, ISTJs are usually observing the world with a kind of detached irony. Their inner expectations are frequently contradicted by outer reality, and the incongruity would be exasperating if they took it too seriously. [Thomson]
Tenzin ENFJ [THE TEACHER]
ENFJs reason in terms of relationship. They have a psychological turn of mind, an interest in the journeys people take and how they’re negotiated. ENFJs want to make people aware of their inner scripts so they can get past them and develop more realistic ways of acting in the world. When ENFJs use their tertiary function, Extraverted Sensing, defensively they focus all their attention on others’ painful experiences, attempting to preserve their position as advocates and counselors. Believing that they should be able to handle anything that arises with reason and understanding, they may have a particular problem with displays of anger. ENFJs need Introverted Intuition to recognize that perceptual experiences are not just part of the past. They’re part of every situation we’re in. They tell us about aspects of life that don’t fit our conceptual frame. [Thomson]
Asami Sato ISFJ [THE DEFENDER]
Like ISTJs, ISFJs are more comfortable with facts and information about concrete reality. However, ISFJs relate to the outer world in a decidedly personal way, with Extraverted Feeling. ISFJs are highly alert to behaviors and gestures that suggest another’s emotional attitude, needs, or expectations, and they generally acquire knowledge that allows them to be of service–preferably to one person at a time. ISFJs will go out of their way to help a family member in trouble, a misunderstood coworker, or a perfect stranger sitting next to them on a bus. They rarely consider the amount of time and effort their involvement will require–or even potential consequences o ftheir actions. ISFJs are both firm and decisive when they’re in a one-to-one situation because their behaviors are being guided by the other’s immediate needs. In a group situation, however, or a in a position of general authority, ISFJs often feel unsure of their position until they know how others in the group will be affected. They resist making plans that appear to give their own needs precedence. [Thomson]
Lin Beifong ESTJ [THE GUARDIAN]
ESTJs generally want their abilities to be useful to others. ESTJs see themselves more as advocates–people whose position and knowledge permit them to represent a system and to negotiate its structure for others. They want to play their part in a larger system and be accountable for meeting their objectives. When they socialize, their conversation tends to be impersonal and factual. Such types have a strong sense of principle. They know what they believe about how things should happen, and they try to live according to the rules they’ve set for themselves. For ESTJs, people are like buildings: The deeper the foundation, the higher they go. Progress is earned by hard work one invests, and it’s always a step-by-step affair. Each stage requires the genuine mastery of defined tasks and is marked by specific rewards. To skip a step or to be rewarded for merely personal reasons strikes them as unfair and a potential threat to the system as a whole. [Thomson]
Jinora INFJ [THE CONFIDANT]
Because INFJs use Extraverted Feeling to relate to the outer world, they may seem more outgoing than they really are. Their personal approach and abilitiy to find common ground with others combines with their intuitive need for innovation and alternative views. INFJs require a sense of meaning in the work they do. INFJs can be quite tenacious in pointing out discrepencies between stated beliefs and actual behavior. INFJs wrestle all their lives with the conflict they perceive between maintaining harmonious relationships and expressing emotional truth. INFJs frequently express themselves indirectly, depending on unstated implication to carry their meaning, and they can be put off by too direct a reference to something that is of great value to them. [Thomson]
Varrick ENTP [THE ORIGINATOR]
ENTPs are aggressive, expansive, and opportunistic in the best sense of the word. They have no doubt of the importance of what they’re doing, and they’re at their best when they feel challenged and have to improvise. They want to be inspired, are rarely content with things as they are, and tend to have many projects going at the same time. Others are excited by, even propelled by , the relentless tide of their drive and enthusiasm. An ENTP’s curiosity, drive, and force of will are highly charismatic. These types are innovative, imaginative, and exciting to be around. They often attract people who rely on their energy and initiative to galvanize their own ambitions. [Thomson]
Bumi ENFP [The Advocate]
ENFPs grasp patterns quickly, but their interest in them is decidedly personal. They see people’s potential for loving, for learning, for make a difference, and they look for ways to nurture it. ENFPs have little patience for administrative detail. They prefer to think on their feet, as a situation is happening. Moreover, they have a hard time sacrificing their options to an organized routine. Without enough introversion, they’re dependent on others’ stake in their ideas, so they devote their energies to winning people’s approval.Given their awareness that circumstances are likely to change, they try to make their case broad enough to incorporate all possibilities. In consequence, ENFPs can end up talking a better game than the’re prepared to play.
Suyin Beifong ISFP [THE ARTIST]
Focusing on the here and now, the ISFP will live life to the full, cherishing the present moment, and finding real pleasure in the more sensory and practical activities such as painting or handicrafts. They need an inner balance, a kind of karma for their lives and this means keeping things as uncomplicated as possible. Planning and control are not for the ISFP, they much prefer to stay in the background doing the things they like, keeping a balance, which includes choosing to remain, happily disorganized. Quiet supporters, rarely will an ISFP be the leader, preferring to remain behind the scenes, observing, understanding, but saying very little. [Prelude Character Analysis]
Kai ESTP [THE ADVENTURER]
ESTPs are realist of the first order. Like all Sensates, they are geared by their senses and enjoy action and stimulation. But unlike the ESFP, who is drawn by Introverted Feeling to an interest in people, the ESTP is galvanized by Introverted Thinking toward situations involving risk, strategy, and serious competition. Their competitive drive is very strong. They’re accustomed to calculating the angles well enough to assure a successful outcome, and settling for less is more frightening to them than taking a risk.Without the proper outlet, the type can become reckless or even self-destructive, simply for the thrill of meeting a challenge, courting potential disaster, and coming out on top. ESTPs generally have their own code of honor. It may not accord with collective mores and expectations, but it is consistent and fiercely maintained–especially where loyalty to friends is concerned. [Thomson]
Opal INFP [THE DREAMER]
INFPs may not describe their approach to life in metaphysical terms, but it’s a rare INFP who doesn’t see in nature’s underlying pattern intimations of a larger purpose. Their work becomes the agency through which they can grasp those ‘distant deeps and skies’ in which ‘fearful symmetries’ are framed. INFPs yearn to experience oneness with their circumstances, but Intuition prevents them from satisfying this longing as ISFPs do, by losing themselves in a physical activity. Intuition doesn’t push INFPs to act. It pushes them to interpret: to see the potential of their thoughts and behaviors in terms of their ideals. INFPs have a hard time articulating who they are inside, and they keep hoping the objective situation will give them enough reference points to express themselves in a way that feels true and right. Indeed, INFPs can have a hard time figuring out what they’re called to do in life. [Thomson]
Kya ESFJ [THE SUPPORTER]
ESFJs know who they are, quite literally, by way of their relationships, and they thrive on their multiple roles and responsibilities. ESFJs reason personally, in term of their relationships, so their identity derives from the roles they play in people’s lives. When ESFJs discover the pleasure of being received as they are and not simply for what they do, they also find that they can separate themselves from people’s opinions of their outward behavior. The well-developed ESFJs are the people we turn to when we need both empathy and clear-eyed realism. They have a genuine love of life that others recognize and want to be around. They know how how to listen, how to laugh, how to forgive, and they have a gift for bringing out the best in others. [Thomson]

Avatar: The Last Airbender MBTI
Aang ENFP [The Inspirer]
ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it. Unlike other Extraverted types, ENFPs need time alone to center themselves, and make sure they are moving in a direction which is in sync with their values. ENFPs who remain centered will usually be quite successful at their endeavors.
Most ENFPs have great people skills. They are genuinely warm and interested in people, and place great importance on their inter-personal relationships. ENFPs almost always have a strong need to be liked. Sometimes, especially at a younger age, an ENFP will tend to be “gushy” and insincere, and generally “overdo” in an effort to win acceptance. However, once an ENFP has learned to balance their need to be true to themselves with their need for acceptance, they excel at bringing out the best in others, and are typically well-liked. They have an exceptional ability to intuitively understand a person after a very short period of time, and use their intuition and flexibility to relate to others on their own level. [X]
Katara ENFJ [The Giver]
ENFJs are people-focused individuals. They live in the world of people possibilities. More so than any other type, they have excellent people skills. They understand and care about people, and have a special talent for bringing out the best in others. ENFJ’s main interest in life is giving love, support, and a good time to other people. They are focused on understanding, supporting, and encouraging others. They make things happen for people, and get their best personal satisfaction from this. People love ENFJs. They are fun to be with, and truly understand and love people. They are typically very straight-forward and honest. Usually ENFJs exude a lot of self-confidence, and have a great amount of ability to do many different things. They are generally bright, full of potential, energetic and fast-paced. They are usually good at anything which captures their interest.
ENFJs like for things to be well-organized, and will work hard at maintaining structure and resolving ambiguity. They have a tendency to be fussy, especially with their home environments. ENFJs do not like dealing with impersonal reasoning. They don’t understand or appreciate its merit, and will be unhappy in situations where they’re forced to deal with logic and facts without any connection to a human element. Living in the world of people possibilities, they enjoy their plans more than their achievements. They get excited about possibilities for the future, but may become easily bored and restless with the present. [X]
Sokka ENTJ [The Leader]
ENTJs are natural born leaders. They live in a world of possibilities where they see all sorts challenges to be surmounted, and they want to be the ones responsible for surmounting them. They have a drive for leadership, which is well-served by their quickness to grasp complexities, their ability to absorb a large amount of impersonal information, and their quick and decisive judgments. They are “take charge” people. ENTJs are very forceful, decisive individuals. They make decisions quickly, and are quick to verbalize their opinions and decisions to the rest of the world.
ENTJs love to interact with people. As Extroverts, they’re energized and stimulated primarily externally. There’s nothing more enjoyable and satisfying to the ENTJ than having a lively, challenging conversation. They especially respect people who are able to stand up to the ENTJ, and argue persuasively for their point of view. There aren’t too many people who will do so, however, because the ENTJ is a very forceful and dynamic presence who has a tremendous amount of self-confidence and excellent verbal communication skills. Even the most confident individuals may experience moments of self-doubt when debating a point with an ENTJ. [X] in-depth profile by Fictionalcharactermbti
Toph ISTP [The Craftsman]
ISTPs have a compelling drive to understand the way things work. They’re good at logical analysis, and like to use it on practical concerns. They typically have strong powers of reasoning, although they’re not interested in theories or concepts unless they can see a practical application. ISTPs have an adventuresome spirit. They thrive on action, and are usually fearless. ISTPs are fiercely independent, needing to have the space to make their own decisions about their next step. They do not believe in or follow rules and regulations, as this would prohibit their ability to “do their own thing”. Their sense of adventure and desire for constant action makes ISTPs prone to becoming bored rather quickly.
ISTPs are loyal to their causes and beliefs, and are firm believers that people should be treated with equity and fairness. Although they do not respect the rules of the “System”, they follow their own rules and guidelines for behavior faithfully. They will not take part in something which violates their personal laws. ISTPs are extremely loyal and faithful to their “brothers”. ISTPs are action-oriented people. They like to be up and about, doing things. They are not people to sit behind a desk all day and do long-range planning. Adaptable and spontaneous, they respond to what is immediately before them. They usually have strong technical skills, and can be effective technical leaders. They focus on details and practical things. They have an excellent sense of expediency and grasp of the details which enables them to make quick, effective decisions. [X]
Zuko ISFP [The Artist]
ISFPs live in the world of sensation possibilities. They have a strong set of values, which they strive to consistently meet in their lives. They need to feel as if they’re living their lives in accordance with what they feel is right, and will rebel against anything which conflicts with that goal. ISFPs are warm and sympathetic. They genuinely care about people, and are strongly service-oriented in their desire to please. They have an unusually deep well of caring for those who are close to them, and are likely to show their love through actions, rather than words.
ISFPs are action-oriented individuals. They are “doers”, and are usually uncomfortable with theorizing concepts and ideas, unless they see a practical application. They learn best in a “hands-on” environment, and consequently may become easily bored with the traditional teaching methods, which emphasize abstract thinking. They do not like impersonal analysis, and are uncomfortable with the idea of making decisions based strictly on logic. Their strong value systems demand that decisions are evaluated against their subjective beliefs, rather than against some objective rules or laws. [X] in-depth profile by Fictionalcharactermbti
Uncle Iroh INFP [The Idealist]
INFPs, more than other iNtuitive Feeling types, are focused on making the world a better place for people. Their primary goal is to find out their meaning in life. What is their purpose? How can they best serve humanity in their lives? They are idealists and perfectionists, who drive themselves hard in their quest for achieving the goals they have identified for themselves. INFPs are highly intuitive about people. They rely heavily on their intuitions to guide them, and use their discoveries to constantly search for value in life. They are on a continuous mission to find the truth and meaning underlying things.
Every encounter and every piece of knowledge gained gets sifted through the INFP’s value system, and is evaluated to see if it has any potential to help the INFP define or refine their own path in life. The goal at the end of the path is always the same - the INFP is driven to help people and make the world a better place. Generally thoughtful and considerate, INFPs are good listeners and put people at ease. Although they may be reserved in expressing emotion, they have a very deep well of caring and are genuinely interested in understanding people. This sincerity is sensed by others, making the INFP a valued friend and confidante. INFPs are flexible and laid-back, until one of their values is violated. In the face of their value system being threatened, INFPs can become aggressive defenders, fighting passionately for their cause. [X]
Azula ENTJ [The Commander]
ENTJs are very career-focused. They are constantly scanning their environment for potential problems which they can turn into solutions. They generally see things from a long-range perspective, and are usually successful at identifying plans to turn problems around. There is not much room for error in the world of the ENTJ. They dislike to see mistakes repeated, and have no patience with inefficiency. They may become quite harsh when their patience is tried in these respects, because they are not naturally tuned in to people’s feelings, and more than likely don’t believe that they should tailor their judgments in consideration for people’s feelings. ENTJs, like many types, have difficulty seeing things from outside their own perspective.
Unlike other types, ENTJs naturally have little patience with people who do not see things the same way as the ENTJ. The ENTJ needs to consciously work on recognizing the value of other people’s opinions, as well as the value of being sensitive towards people’s feelings. In the absence of this awareness, the ENTJ will be a forceful, intimidating and overbearing individual. This may be a real problem for the ENTJ, who may be deprived of important information and collaboration from others. [X]
Princess Yue ISFJ [The Defender]
ISFJs live in a world that is concrete and kind. They are truly warm and kind-hearted, and want to believe the best of people. They value harmony and cooperation, and are likely to be very sensitive to other people’s feelings. People value the ISFJ for their consideration and awareness, and their ability to bring out the best in others by their firm desire to believe the best. ISFJs have a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. They constantly take in information about people and situations that is personally important to them, and store it away.
Just as the ISFJ is not likely to express their feelings, they are also not likely to let on that they know how others are feeling. However, they will speak up when they feel another individual really needs help, and in such cases they can truly help others become aware of their feelings. The ISFJ feels a strong sense of responsibility and duty. They take their responsibilities very seriously, and can be counted on to follow through. ISFJs have a very clear idea of the way things should be, which they strive to attain. They value security and kindness, and respect traditions and laws. They tend to believe that existing systems are there because they work. Therefore, they’re not likely to buy into doing things in a new way, unless they’re shown in a concrete way why its better than the established method. [X]
Mai ISTJ [The Duty Fulfiller]
ISTJs are quiet and reserved individuals who are interested in security and peaceful living. They have a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, which lends them a serious air and the motivation to follow through on tasks. Organized and methodical in their approach, they can generally succeed at any task which they undertake. ISTJs have tremendous respect for facts. They hold a tremendous store of facts within themselves, which they have gathered through their Sensing preference. They may have difficulty understanding a theory or idea which is different from their own perspective. However, if they are shown the importance or relevance of the idea to someone who they respect or care about, the idea becomes a fact, which the ISTJ will internalize and support. Once the ISTJ supports a cause or idea, he or she will stop at no lengths to ensure that they are doing their duty of giving support where support is needed.
The ISTJ is not naturally in tune with their own feelings and the feelings of others. They may have difficulty picking up on emotional needs immediately, as they are presented. Being perfectionists themselves, they have a tendency to take other people’s efforts for granted, like they take their own efforts for granted. They need to remember to pat people on the back once in a while. ISTJs are likely to be uncomfortable expressing affection and emotion to others. However, their strong sense of duty and the ability to see what needs to be done in any situation usually allows them to overcome their natural reservations, and they are usually quite supporting and caring individuals with the people that they love. Once the ISTJ realizes the emotional needs of those who are close to them, they put forth effort to meet those needs. [X] in-depth profile by Fictionalcharactermbti
Ty Lee ESFP [The Performer]
ESFPs live in the world of people possibilities. They love people and new experiences. They are lively and fun, and enjoy being the center of attention. They live in the here-and-now, and relish excitement and drama in their lives. ESFPs have very strong inter-personal skills, and may find themselves in the role of the peacemaker frequently. Since they make decisions by using their personal values, they are usually very sympathetic and concerned for other people’s well-being. They’re usually quite generous and warm. They are very observant about other people, and seem to sense what is wrong with someone before others might, responding warmly with a solution to a practical need. They might not be the best advice-givers in the world, because they dislike theory and future-planning, but they are great for giving practical care.
ESFP is definitely a spontaneous, optimistic individual. They love to have fun. If the ESFP has not developed their Thinking side by giving consideration to rational thought processing, they tend to become over-indulgent, and place more importance on immediate sensation and gratification than on their duties and obligations. They may also avoid looking at long-term consequences of their actions. The ESFP is a great team player. He or she is not likely to create any problems or fuss, and is likely to create the most fun environment possible for getting the task done. [X]
Suki ESTP [The Doer]
ESTPs are outgoing, straight-shooting types. Enthusiastic and excitable, ESTPs are “doers” who live in the world of action. Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing. ESTPs have an uncanny ability to perceive people’s attitudes and motivations. They pick up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most other types, such as facial expressions and stance. They’re typically a couple of steps ahead of the person they’re interacting with. ESTPs use this ability to get what they want out of a situation.
The ESTP needs to keep moving, and so does well in careers where he or she is not restricted or confined. ESTPs have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They get very excited about things, and have the ability to motivate others to excitement and action. The can sell anyone on any idea. They are action-oriented, and make decisions quickly. All-in-all, they have extraordinary talents for getting things started. [X]
Roku INFJ [The Protector]
INFJs place great importance on having things orderly and systematic in their outer world. They put a lot of energy into identifying the best system for getting things done, and constantly define and re-define the priorities in their lives. On the other hand, INFJs operate within themselves on an intuitive basis which is entirely spontaneous. They know things intuitively, without being able to pinpoint why, and without detailed knowledge of the subject at hand. They are usually right, and they usually know it. Consequently, INFJs put a tremendous amount of faith into their instincts and intuitions. Most INFJs are protective of their inner selves, sharing only what they choose to share when they choose to share it. They are deep, complex individuals, who are quite private and typically difficult to understand. INFJs hold back part of themselves, and can be secretive.
But the INFJ is as genuinely warm as they are complex. INFJs hold a special place in the heart of people who they are close to, who are able to see their special gifts and depth of caring. INFJs are concerned for people’s feelings, and try to be gentle to avoid hurting anyone. They are very sensitive to conflict, and cannot tolerate it very well. Situations which are charged with conflict may drive the normally peaceful INFJ into a state of agitation or charged anger. They may tend to internalize conflict. [X]
Bumi ENTP [The Visionary]
With Extraverted Intuition dominating their personality, the ENTP’s primary interest in life is understanding the world that they live in. They are constantly absorbing ideas and images about the situations they are presented in their lives. Using their intuition to process this information, they are usually extremely quick and accurate in their ability to size up a situation. With the exception of their ENFP cousin, the ENTP has a deeper understanding of their environment than any of the other types. This ability to intuitively understand people and situations puts the ENTP at a distinct advantage in their lives. They generally understand things quickly and with great depth. Accordingly, they are quite flexible and adapt well to a wide range of tasks. They are good at most anything that interests them. As they grow and further develop their intuitive abilities and insights, they become very aware of possibilities, and this makes them quite resourceful when solving problems.
The ENTP’s auxiliary process of Introverted Thinking drives their decision making process. Although the ENTP is more interested in absorbing information than in making decisions, they are quite rational and logical in reaching conclusions. When they apply Thinking to their Intuitive perceptions, the outcome can be very powerful indeed. A well-developed ENTP is extremely visionary, inventive, and enterprising. [X]
Long Feng INTJ [The Mastermind]
With Introverted Intuition dominating their personality, INTJs focus their energy on observing the world, and generating ideas and possibilities. Their mind constantly gathers information and makes associations about it. They are tremendously insightful and usually are very quick to understand new ideas. However, their primary interest is not understanding a concept, but rather applying that concept in a useful way. Unlike the INTP, they do not follow an idea as far as they possibly can, seeking only to understand it fully. INTJs are driven to come to conclusions about ideas. Their need for closure and organization usually requires that they take some action.
The INTJ’s interest in dealing with the world is to make decisions, express judgments, and put everything that they encounter into an understandable and rational system. Consequently, they are quick to express judgments. Often they have very evolved intuitions, and are convinced that they are right about things. Unless they complement their intuitive understanding with a well-developed ability to express their insights, they may find themselves frequently misunderstood. In these cases, INTJs tend to blame misunderstandings on the limitations of the other party, rather than on their own difficulty in expressing themselves. This tendency may cause the INTJ to dismiss others input too quickly, and to become generally arrogant and elitist. [X]

I’m just gonna keep expanding on this concept until someone physically stops me, and by physically I mean you will have to put me six feet underground, but here goes another addition to my slightly feral/chaotic Raya head cannon.
So Namaari and Raya are on a mission together after the events of the movie, and they’re trying to break up a small group of criminals that have been terrorizing Fang for the past few months. The enemies are a group of anti-fang terrorists who blame the tribe for the return of the Druun and have been stealing from Fang’s already limited food supply, vandalizing their buildings, and attacking civilians.
They finally have a location for their base. The difficult part: They’re stationed inside a cavern up a mountain, meaning one entryway and highground advantage should they see them climbing the only pathway into the cave. With the sentry the criminals have posted in front watching the steep incline, it’s impossible for them not to notice.
Namaari and the other Fang generals are trying to work out how they’re going to get in and Raya is just thinking strangely quietly, until she just smiles and says “I’ll get them out.” Everyone else gets chills at the sharklike grin on her face and the predatory glint in her eyes. Namaari at this point trusts in her skills, so when she says she can do it, the Fang princess just nods.
The fact that she agreed doesn’t change the fact that her heart crawls into her throat when Raya starts to scale the side of the mountain with nothing but her sword. The other Fang soldiers are nowhere near as used to Raya’s crazy as she is, and simply watch in astonishment as she climbs nearly 200ft in a matter of minutes.
When she gets to the top, she manages to get behind the posted guard, and the only warning they have about what she’s about to do is when she yells, “Catch!” and then proceeds to punt the guy…. down… the mountainside. Namaari scrambles to get on her Serlot and manages to get him safely on the ground before the rest of the soldiers have him pinned. He’s not even putting up a fight though, just sobbing in fear.
When Raya lights a smokebomb and throws it into the cave, and then follows it immediately with a string of firecrackers, Namaari figures out what her plan is. She screams for the rest of the Fang soldiers to get ready and as soon as the words are out of her mouth, the criminals they have been hunting come running out of the cave.
And Raya just… she just keeps kicking them down. Body after body falls from this mountain and the Fang soldiers are all just scrambling to catch them before they hit the ground. Namaari thinks she might be imagining it, but she thinks Raya’s laughing too.
When they’re all captured, (thankfully no casualties) and Raya climbs back down, Namaari stops her.
“What if I had missed?”
Raya just grins, “I knew you wouldn’t.”

I just thought about the fact that we’re saying that Elsa is gay since 2013, plus all the #GiveElsaaGirlfriend campaign. Most of the times Disney (literally everyone, from the actors to the producers to the writers to the company itself and so on) keeps answering “Elsa doesn’t define herself by a love interest and bla bla bla” and ok, I get it. It’s Disney and it’s like their most popular character ever. I get it.
But now after just two days Kelly Marie Tran is already standing with us, saying that she believes in the Raya x Namaari ship and FINALLY standing by us (also, after all the sh**t that happened to her at Disney before with the Star Wars franchise). I’d like to underline that the LGBTQ+ community is a huge part of the ENTIRE Disney fanbase, through every corner of the company.
I’m so thankful for Kelly, she deserves everything!!

RAYAARI BIG BANG INTEREST CHECK NOW OPEN - CLOSES APRIL 30TH 🐉💙
What's drippin', dep la? Welcome to the 2021 Rayaari Big Bang! This fandom event is intended to facilitate collaboration between authors and visual artists through contributing a collective body of longfic and full color illustrations about our two favorite dragon nerds. All pieces will revolve around the Raya/Namaari pairing from Raya and the Last Dragon.
What is a big bang?
Per Fanlore:
A Big Bang (or “Bang” for short) is a specific type of challenge usually involving long fics and accompanying artwork. This type of challenge is a reprise of the old zine tradition of collaboration between artists and writers for internet fandoms.
Most Big Bangs have a similar format: Writers sign up to take part in the challenge and begin writing stories. When the early drafts of the stories are available, each one is assigned one or more artists, or artists might claim stories from posted summaries. Artists create fanart to go along with the story.
Minimum expectations for this bang will be a 10k+ standalone new work for writers and 1-2 full color illustrations from artists.
Participants will also have the opportunity to serve as beta readers (all finalized fics must be beta read) and/or pinch-hitters, which are individuals who step in to fulfill a written or artistic prompt if another participant must drop out. This big bang event will cap at AO3's Mature rating, with no explicit violent/sexual or dead dove content allowed in associated works.
We are also looking for mods to help run the Discord and social media (Twitter/Tumblr/Carrd/Graphics)!
Tentative schedule subject to adjustment:
Mid May: Sign-ups & Discord open
Early June: Prompt submissions and pairing begin
Late June: Author & artist pairings are finalized; work begins
July-Sep: Progress check-ins
October: Contributions are beta-read and finalized
Early November: Posting begins
Take the first step! 🐉💧

i just wanted to say something about this— julia refers to herself as jules. she doesn’t say “julia” or “julia argent”, as you typically would say your name / full name when introducing yourself. she says- practically yells in desperation, even- “i’m your friend! jules!”
because carmen was the one that gave her that nickname. julia wanted her to remember their first meeting on that train, everything they’d done together, their relationship, how she’d been on her side from the start... i’m not okay.
bonus:
and then carmen walked out of the museum and this was the first memory to hit her. i’m speechless.
