No fucking excuses!
Growing up in school I saw countless of violent fights DEESCALATED by unarmed teachers and principals.
There are countless videos showing mass murdering white men being apprehended without a scratch.
Countless of videos of white males being armed and aggressive towards police. Still apprehended and taken alive.
Miss me with the excuses.

I guess only some black lives matter.
Yall don’t care about black women or black girls.
I work in a public school system in the inner city. I’ve worked with kids from k4-12th grade. I’ve seen fights that look just like the video of Ma’Khia. People throw chairs, they bang other kids heads into lockers, they punch kids, they kick kids, they grab whatever they can and try to use it as a weapon. I’ve deescalated fights, school security, school staff, teachers, and admin have all broken up fights and deescalated them. Funnily enough, we’ve never had to murder a kid; even when they were hurting other students, we calmed them down and everyone lived. The fact that police can’t calmly break up this situation - what with all their training and their gear that they have- and their first instinct is to fire a gun no questions asked is ABSURD. Especially because it’s not for reasons you all keep making up. It’s not because “she was about to kill the other girl” if that was the case why is Kyle Rittenhouse still alive after walking around with a weapon after ACTUALLY killing folks. Why did police treat him like he was one of the good guys? Why did Dylan Roof not get dropped on the spot after slaying 9 black people who were praying in church!? I thought yall said that police have no choice when they see a weapon and lives are in danger, THEY HAVE TO SHOOT!!! Oh... I guess that’s only when they see black people. And I guess that yall’s empathy is only reserved for black males.
Ma’Khai was a little too black for yall, and a little too big, and a little too loud, violent, aggressive, and hostile for yall. You saw her as an animal so it was ok that she got put down like one. “Hey, the cops are just doing their job! They didn’t have a choice here!” But wait a minute, I thought ACAB!? My, my how quickly you all change your tune. I thought that it doesn’t matter if someone is breaking the law or not, they don’t have a right to be murdered even IF they aren’t cooperating. Damn, what happened to that song yall were singing when it came to black males?
I’ve not felt this much pain and hurt since Trayvon Martin. I’ve not felt so discarded and so hopeless and let down in a long time. The most disrespected, unprotected, and neglected person in America is the black woman. I knew yall hated black women but I’m always surprised by how much. Yall hate us so much that you think it’s ok for police to unload 4 bullets into the chest of a 16 year old who was defending herself in a fight. And the thing is, even if she wasn’t defending herself, even if she had started the whole thing, she still doesn’t need to be shot 4 times. Not when police are able to take violent white criminals into custody and make stops at burger king while they’re at it.
We gotta have our own backs as black women and it fukin sucks. But the kicker is that black women themselves are throwing their humanity under the bus to shuck and jive. Why are black women themselves saying that this baby deserved to die and that she needed to be held accountable, killing her isn’t accountability. Basically yall sayin she deserves the death penalty for something she might have done. Black women have to have their own backs because not even other black women will have our backs. And don’t even get me started on the black men who watch us drown as we toss them our life jackets. We are out on the front lines for black men and they just simply cannot show up for black women. Black men, Shannon Sharpe and Don Lemon publicly tell America that it’s ok because Ma’khia was unruly and uncivilized. Nows ya knows ya gots ta ack rite fos massa come round... I feel like now that yall got the verdict for George, now yall don’t wanna step outta line too much and Ma’khia is who yall are willing to sacrifice in order to show white America your utmost gratitude.

Hey, in light of the recent news about Ma'Khia Bryant, I just wanna send a little reminder to any of my black mutuals and followers to do a little something to take care of yourself if you're not alright right now. Even if it's just hydrating (especially if you've been crying).
I know it can be hard to detach from social media, but step offline for a bit if you have to. If you have classwork or any other avoidable responsibilities to tend to, it's okay to not do it right now, even if that means not doing it at all. Your wellbeing always comes first. To hell with anyone who tries to belittle your feelings on this and tell you otherwise.
Please be kind to yourselves.

A teenage girl was fatally shot by the police in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday afternoon, officials said, shortly before a jury reached a guilty verdict in the murder trial of the former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in last year’s killing of George Floyd.
The girl’s death cast an immediate pall over public expressions that justice had been served in Mr. Floyd’s case and touched off protests in Ohio’s capital city.
The Columbus Division of Police did not immediately provide details about the shooting, which was confirmed on Twitter by the city’s mayor, Andrew Ginther, who said there was police body camera footage of the confrontation and urged residents to keep the peace as protesters descended on the scene.
“This afternoon a young woman tragically lost her life,” Mr. Ginther said. “We do not know all of the details. There is body-worn camera footage of the incident. We are working to review it as soon as possible.”
The Columbus Dispatch reported that police had been responding to a 911 call about an attempted stabbing when the shooting took place around 4:45 p.m. in the southeastern part of Columbus. The verdict in the Chauvin case was announced about 20 minutes later.
Mr. Ginther said that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation would conduct an independent inquiry, which he said is standard whenever an officer shoots someone.
“We will share information that we can as soon as it becomes available,” he said. “I’m asking for residents to remain calm and allow BCI to gather the facts.”
A woman interviewed by The Dispatch identified the victim, who was Black, as her 15-year-old niece. The woman, Hazel Bryant, told the newspaper that her niece lived in a foster home and got into an altercation with som eone else at the home.
Ms. Bryant said her niece had a knife, but maintained that the girl had dropped the knife before she was shot multiple times by a police officer, the newspaper reported.
The Columbus Division of Police did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment on Tuesday night. A crowd of protesters gathered outside the city’s police building, local news media reported.
The teenager’s death quickly received widespread attention, including from Ben Crump, the Floyd family’s lawyer, amid a continuing reckoning over police accountability and systemic racism.
“As we breathed a collective sigh of relief today, a community in Columbus felt the sting of another police shooting as @ColumbusPolice killed an unarmed 15yo Black girl,” Mr. Crump said. “Another child lost! Another hashtag.”

Say her name. Makhia Bryant.
She got into a fight with 2 other kids and the cop sperated them and told her to wait inside.
The officer was questioning the trespassers and she came out from inside with a knife to kill the other girl. You are not the victim if you leave a dangerous situation and them come back. You choose to re-enter and attack.
The cop shot her for that reason.
I'm going to get hate but this is ridiculous.

The fact that we only got to enjoy Derek Chauvin 's conviction for all of *checks watch* like 3 hours before having to go back to the bullshit where these Columbus cops killed yet ANOTHER child 🙄
This shit is hard to live, forreal.
To everyone watching- TAKE A BREATH. You are allowed to be surprised and happy that something we all thought would not happen- accountability- occurred in one of our battles today. It's only one- but it happened.
The war is long and ongoing, y'all.
#makhia bryant#black lives matter#police brutality#george floyd#them protests sure did fucking work though 👀👀

tw // murder, police brutality
A 15 year old girl named Makhia Bryant from Columbus Ohio was shot four times in the chest by police, just as the verdict was being read. She was who called them for help.
Edit: the correct spelling of her name is Ma’Khia and she was 16yrs old not 15. all this was confirmed by her mother Paula Bryant.

Derek Chauvin was held accountable.
Now its time for the cops who killed 16 year old Ma’Khia Bryant yesterday. For the cops who killed Adam Toledo a month ago. For Kim Porter who killed Daunte Wright. For those cops who got off in Kentucky after killing Breonna. For all of the cops who have shot and killed a Black or Brown person.
These kids. These women. These men. These LGBTQA+ people. They all deserved better. They should all be alive. Damnit this shit is ridiculous.

15 year old Ma'Khia Bryant just got shot four times in the chest. I watched the body cam footage, I read the use of force policies for Columbus police. There were so many other things the officer should have done, but he didn't. And now a child is dead. I'm disgusted.
Sure, the situation is stressful, but he murdered a child. If a doctor in a life or death situation gave the patient medicine that resulted in their death, the doctor would be held accountable. The officer in this case was not in mortal danger, yet his crime is still being debated

i’m constantly in awe of the police’s ability to not instantly shoot white men who literally just killed a bunch of people with a gun but immediately pulling the trigger 4 fucking times when a black girl with a knife supposedly tried to stab someone, and only supposedly. cool.
